you what you should [00:17:44] wear [00:17:49] i felt discriminated against because i [00:17:51] tried on all those outfits [00:17:53] didn't work [00:17:56] leah thomas probably could pull it off [00:17:58] though i was [00:18:01] delayed [00:18:02] and i am sorry [00:18:05] i blame joe biden [00:18:08] i blame dr fauci [00:18:12] too many masks [00:18:16] but i'm here [00:18:18] [Applause] [00:18:21] seven hours in the airport [00:18:23] seven more hours in the next airport [00:18:27] and i realized something as i was [00:18:28] standing in the airport i was in florida [00:18:29] right so there's not a mask in sight [00:18:33] and i sit down [00:18:36] and i [00:18:37] look next to me on the plane i finally [00:18:39] get on a flight took me two days to get [00:18:41] here i'm very sorry hurricanes whatever [00:18:44] global warming what would they say [00:18:46] isn't it amazing all the people who love [00:18:47] global warming all have beachfront [00:18:49] properties right obama has a beach front [00:18:50] property leo has a beachfront property [00:18:52] john kerry has a beachfront property [00:18:55] i don't have a beachfront property [00:18:56] that's strange you think that i'll be in [00:18:58] the mountains if they have to believe [00:18:59] that crap [00:19:02] i sit there and there's like someone [00:19:03] wearing a mask next to me on the flight [00:19:05] still [00:19:07] and i'm like [00:19:09] wow [00:19:10] you still exist [00:19:14] i'm so glad i'm going to ywls this [00:19:16] weekend [00:19:17] to be with my people [00:19:19] and not [00:19:20] those people [00:19:22] and it's saturday morning [00:19:25] and no man woman or child president or [00:19:28] dr fauci could stop me from giving this [00:19:31] speech today to you and i'm so happy to [00:19:34] be here [00:19:36] it is saturday morning it is not sunday [00:19:38] morning but i feel like we should preach [00:19:41] anyway yes [00:19:43] should we get into the good word [00:19:46] we have [00:19:47] a brand new presentation [00:19:50] for you [00:19:56] the greatest job [00:19:58] any man [00:20:00] can have [00:20:01] in this earth [00:20:03] is to be a father [00:20:09] and i am so [00:20:11] happy [00:20:12] over the last [00:20:14] two years [00:20:16] i became a father [00:20:17] and it's like i completed my life like [00:20:19] my life is now complete the fullness of [00:20:22] my heart [00:20:23] and the fullness of [00:20:25] i was telling charlie kirk backstage i'm [00:20:27] like charlie [00:20:28] you're [00:20:30] you're married [00:20:33] you're swole [00:20:34] you look huge dude i don't know what [00:20:36] you've been doing [00:20:37] been working out with magga hulk [00:20:41] even donald trump looks like really like [00:20:43] fit these everyone's getting fit [00:20:45] it's amazing we're taking this time to [00:20:47] gear up for the coming fights [00:20:49] charlie baby [00:20:52] you got to get a kid [00:20:54] that's the final thing baby that's to [00:20:56] find that changes everything [00:20:59] because when you have a kid [00:21:01] you come home [00:21:07] and this is waiting for [00:21:11] [Music] [00:21:14] you of company [00:21:18] [Music] [00:21:32] not only that if you have a kid you can [00:21:34] teach them your values [00:21:37] [Music] [00:21:39] [Applause] [00:21:47] [Music] [00:21:52] what do we do with masks [00:21:54] we throw them on the ground [00:22:05] she was one year old in that video and [00:22:06] she's still smarter than dr fauci [00:22:10] every morning while we're making [00:22:12] breakfast the coffee's going right now [00:22:15] heating up the pan uh we [00:22:17] play tucker carlson's [00:22:20] night before episode [00:22:22] and this is the response that my [00:22:24] daughter gives [00:22:32] [Laughter] [00:22:41] take that libs [00:22:43] my one-year-old's watching tucker [00:22:45] and every morning every more the [00:22:48] weekends are the worst because she's [00:22:49] like there's no tucker oh [00:22:54] so just like having that sweet [00:22:56] bite of ice cream or a slice of pizza [00:22:59] man you can't just stop at one you can't [00:23:02] just have one bite you gotta keep going [00:23:04] you gotta keep having babies i say this [00:23:08] to all you out there more americans more [00:23:12] babies let's go [00:23:14] greatest country in the world let's have [00:23:17] more americans and now my mornings look [00:23:19] like this [00:23:30] what are those this is baby juliet [00:23:34] high [00:23:38] [Music] [00:23:49] what are these [00:23:52] these are fingers [00:23:54] wow look at you jumping this morning [00:23:57] wow [00:23:59] hey are you so fast [00:24:02] ready set go [00:24:06] amazing [00:24:10] you are amazing [00:24:13] no way how are you so fast [00:24:19] [Applause] [00:24:27] ladies [00:24:30] i'm a happy man [00:24:32] i am a fulfilled man [00:24:34] i am a happy father [00:24:37] and it is because [00:24:38] i have [00:24:40] a family [00:24:41] and it is because i am choosing i'm [00:24:44] making choices in my life to be happy [00:24:46] and you too can make those choices and [00:24:48] you much like my daughter someday i [00:24:51] would like to give some advice to this [00:24:52] morning [00:24:53] i have some very simple advice [00:24:55] that i would like to give my daughters [00:24:57] someday [00:24:58] eloise can say like a few words one of [00:25:00] them is tucker so i can't exactly give [00:25:03] her that advice right now but i'd like [00:25:05] for my daughters to be able to look back [00:25:06] and see this presentation and know that [00:25:08] even now i was thinking of them [00:25:10] and even now as a father [00:25:12] i was thinking how can they live a happy [00:25:14] life [00:25:18] and so i would like to give you some [00:25:19] advice [00:25:21] uh since i think most of you can uh talk [00:25:23] and and think and if you couldn't then [00:25:26] you wouldn't be here you'd be at a [00:25:27] planned parenthood rally or something [00:25:29] uh [00:25:32] and i think it's very important if [00:25:33] you're trying to figure out what you [00:25:34] want to be to figure out what you don't [00:25:35] want to be right at first like this is [00:25:37] this is the maxim you have to figure out [00:25:39] what i don't want before figuring out [00:25:40] what you want and so it does seem as [00:25:43] though there is no shortage of extremely [00:25:45] angry liberal women these days out on [00:25:48] the streets [00:25:50] they're really mad [00:25:51] i think they've been madder and more [00:25:53] unhappy than ever [00:25:55] and so i'd like to start with a thought [00:25:57] experiment for liberal women by asking [00:26:00] them why are they so unhappy lib [00:26:03] why are you so sad [00:26:06] lib [00:26:07] are you happy [00:26:11] are you happy [00:26:16] are you sure [00:26:21] [Music] [00:26:24] fine okay so why aren't you happy lib [00:26:26] tell me [00:26:27] i'm sitting in my car crying right now [00:26:29] over the loss of more lives and this is [00:26:31] what is about to drive past me [00:26:36] [Laughter] [00:26:39] [Applause] [00:26:43] i'm like shook right now [00:26:46] oh there's another one another one [00:26:47] coming there's a parade of them i'm [00:26:49] shaking what is [00:26:54] okay we're getting somewhere so the [00:26:56] trucks with the support police flags [00:26:58] that makes you unhappy maybe lib you [00:27:00] should just calm down how about we try [00:27:02] this let's try an experiment where you [00:27:04] just take a deep breath [00:27:05] and you calm down and maybe we start [00:27:07] reorganizing your life in a healthier [00:27:08] way [00:27:12] whoops [00:27:17] i'm sitting [00:27:18] terrified [00:27:21] listen to me republicans listen [00:27:25] you are the people in history they [00:27:27] warned us about [00:27:30] they warned us about people like you [00:27:35] pay attention [00:27:37] we're losing our democracy [00:27:42] wake up [00:27:44] wake [00:27:57] so i know that disney's gone [00:28:00] woke but they don't have to put their [00:28:03] famous characters in tick tocks okay [00:28:05] like seriously leave ursula out of this [00:28:09] can we just keep our childhoods can you [00:28:11] not touch the little mermaid [00:28:13] and seriously if they're this angry [00:28:14] what's to happen when we overturn roe v [00:28:16] wade [00:28:24] first step [00:28:25] to my daughters [00:28:28] don't be a lib [00:28:30] how about that [00:28:33] how about how about this don't be a lib [00:28:36] that's the first step to happiness here [00:28:37] we go [00:28:39] second step to happiness [00:28:40] let's understand who you are [00:28:42] god created you and wants you to be [00:28:44] happy that is the core of everything god [00:28:47] created you you have a savior in jesus [00:28:50] christ he wants you to be happy god [00:28:52] created you [00:28:54] and you don't have to take my word for [00:28:56] it [00:28:57] the scripture [00:28:58] says [00:28:59] i know the plans i have for you declares [00:29:01] the lord plans to prosper you and not to [00:29:03] harm you plans to give you a future and [00:29:05] hope [00:29:07] the bible says [00:29:09] i praise you for i am fearfully and [00:29:11] wonderfully made every one of you is [00:29:13] wonderfully made [00:29:15] [Applause] [00:29:20] every one of you and don't let them lie [00:29:22] to you and that's the third thing i want [00:29:24] to teach my daughters you're beautiful [00:29:30] [Applause] [00:29:36] there's an entire [00:29:38] industry [00:29:40] trillion dollar industry out there to [00:29:42] try and lie to you and tell you you're [00:29:44] not beautiful [00:29:46] and try and tell you that you're not [00:29:47] good enough [00:29:48] and you don't need these people's [00:29:50] approval [00:29:52] [Applause] [00:29:57] [Music] [00:30:00] i want to show you something that i [00:30:02] filmed [00:30:03] in my neighborhood in florida [00:30:07] this is what florida looks like under [00:30:08] ron desantis rule [00:30:11] [Laughter] [00:30:17] that's a weekend at hunter biden's house [00:30:22] actually no [00:30:24] this is [00:30:25] just the raw majesty [00:30:27] of god's creation [00:30:30] [Applause] [00:30:32] the raw [00:30:34] stunning beauty of the creation of our [00:30:38] god and our lord [00:30:40] this is natural beauty [00:30:43] in its natural essence [00:30:46] and here's what i'm going to tell my [00:30:47] daughter [00:30:48] someday that god says he made you [00:30:52] in his image [00:30:55] he didn't make nature in his image [00:30:57] yet nature is so stunningly gorgeous [00:31:01] and so how much more beautiful are you [00:31:04] if god made nature this beautiful and [00:31:06] perfect then you are beautiful and [00:31:08] perfect [00:31:16] i'm telling you i'm on social media [00:31:18] every single day [00:31:20] there are so many people in fact there [00:31:23] is no one out there that is set to build [00:31:25] you up the entire world is set to tell [00:31:28] you and lie to you about being empowered [00:31:31] it's not empowering to degrade yourself [00:31:35] it's not it's not empowering to like [00:31:38] i don't know the number one hit song [00:31:40] last year was [00:31:41] right [00:31:42] that's not empowering for women [00:31:45] that's degrading [00:31:47] it's empower your femininity is [00:31:49] empowering [00:31:51] your core being and knowing that you are [00:31:54] a beautiful valuable person and created [00:31:57] by god that's what's empowering there is [00:32:00] a poison that is being fed to the women [00:32:02] of this country telling them that [00:32:05] they're not good enough and i'm here to [00:32:07] dispel that lie you are good enough [00:32:09] because a creator created you and you [00:32:11] have value [00:32:13] every life has value [00:32:15] [Applause] [00:32:21] fourth thing become a woman of high [00:32:22] value [00:32:23] let me ask you [00:32:27] who in this room is unmarried [00:32:30] oh bye okay all right [00:32:34] well kyle rittenhouse is backstage so [00:32:36] uh [00:32:37] [Applause] [00:32:39] would you like to marry a man of high [00:32:41] value [00:32:43] would you like to marry a man of high [00:32:44] spiritual value [00:32:46] would you like to marry a man of high [00:32:47] physical value [00:32:49] well too bad charlie kirk's already [00:32:50] taken [00:32:53] would you like to marry a man of high [00:32:55] moral value [00:32:57] then i beg of you i'm telling this to [00:32:59] you and to my daughters be a woman of [00:33:01] high value like attracts like [00:33:04] all right [00:33:05] men there are good men out there lots of [00:33:07] them trust me i speak to them day and [00:33:09] night [00:33:10] i do a lot of memes i talk to a lot of [00:33:12] young dudes and they always ask the [00:33:14] question man how do i find like a good [00:33:16] woman i promise you they're out there [00:33:18] and if you yourself [00:33:20] desire to be a woman of high value if [00:33:22] you are a woman of high value you will [00:33:24] attract a man of high value [00:33:27] have you ever seen like these people in [00:33:28] these toxic relationships [00:33:30] how like they're both just kind of toxic [00:33:33] like um uh kim kardashian and like the [00:33:38] p davidson p davidson [00:33:40] she was waiting pete davidson [00:33:44] kim what are you doing [00:33:45] toxic people like attract each other [00:33:48] right [00:33:48] and then and they like that toxicity and [00:33:50] it always ends disastrously [00:33:53] but high value people also attract each [00:33:55] other in the same way and it ends [00:33:56] beautifully and it often ends in like [00:33:58] happy marriages and happy lives [00:34:02] i know it seems old-fashioned i know it [00:34:04] does [00:34:05] but i'm telling you ladies and gentlemen [00:34:07] this is what most conservative marriage [00:34:09] proposals go like [00:34:14] i had to work in meme in there [00:34:16] it's not just me saying it even though [00:34:18] i've lived this in my life a lot of data [00:34:21] shows this an incredible amount of data [00:34:23] actually the atlantic hates [00:34:24] conservatives and they hate conservative [00:34:26] values but the atlantic says that [00:34:27] conservatives find life more meaningful [00:34:30] why because conservatives do the kind of [00:34:32] things that lead to happiness like [00:34:33] getting married having children going to [00:34:35] church and building social connections [00:34:37] that make us happy [00:34:40] the atlantic is like writing this [00:34:41] through gritted teeth [00:34:43] pew research center has a incredible [00:34:46] study out from a few years ago saying [00:34:48] that conservatives are always over the [00:34:51] course of [00:34:52] all the way back to 1972 happier than [00:34:55] democrats every year polled [00:34:57] conservatives are happier than democrats [00:34:58] going back nearly 50 years now why is [00:35:02] that this very long extensive study [00:35:04] found that it's because conservatives [00:35:06] have more health [00:35:08] they love their jobs they have more [00:35:09] friends they're more religious they're [00:35:11] more likely to get married they're more [00:35:12] likely to have children they're more [00:35:13] likely to be satisfied they're more [00:35:15] likely to go to ywls turning point usa [00:35:17] [Applause] [00:35:21] so the data's there [00:35:22] it's not just my life that [00:35:25] proves this but i will tell you this [00:35:28] and it's not just your parents and it's [00:35:29] not just me saying it the data proves it [00:35:34] but ladies and gentlemen without the [00:35:35] family unit this nation is truly done [00:35:38] for [00:35:39] strong families make strong nations do [00:35:42] you think having a family makes you [00:35:44] better than me yes [00:35:48] check this out last piece of like uh [00:35:50] super data that i'll jump it throw in [00:35:52] here [00:35:56] factors that increase the odds of [00:35:58] happiness [00:36:00] health way up there there's a shout out [00:36:02] to nurse kate [00:36:03] health [00:36:04] church attendance married party ideas on [00:36:07] there [00:36:08] education race race ethnicity gender [00:36:12] no discernible effect [00:36:13] on how happy you are what is the left [00:36:16] utterly obsessed with every day and [00:36:17] every hour of every day those things [00:36:20] education race ethnicity gender [00:36:23] how about priorities of party what makes [00:36:25] people the happiest [00:36:27] the dark green bars are conservatives so [00:36:30] this is what makes republicans and [00:36:31] conservatives the happiest being married [00:36:33] having children living a religious life [00:36:36] those are the indicators of happiness [00:36:38] for you [00:36:39] according to this poll and according to [00:36:41] an extensive study so embrace those [00:36:43] things [00:36:44] your grandmother and your great [00:36:46] grandmother were right [00:36:48] that's what i have to say [00:36:50] [Applause] [00:36:51] your life is your responsibility do not [00:36:53] let the government step in [00:36:56] and screw with your life [00:36:58] do not allow somebody else to take [00:37:00] control of your life or your decisions [00:37:03] for you it is up to you [00:37:06] and finally [00:37:07] my final advice for my kids god created [00:37:09] you for this moment one of the [00:37:13] most important things i can tell you we [00:37:16] get dms a lot my wife and i and it's [00:37:18] like my wife especially and she talks to [00:37:21] a lot of young women and the biggest dm [00:37:23] is like how could you imagine having [00:37:25] kids in a time like this [00:37:27] oh wow it's so scary out there it's so [00:37:29] scary out there damn it it's always been [00:37:31] scary there's always been a world war or [00:37:34] the threat of an atomic war or a civil [00:37:36] war [00:37:37] strong families and strong women giving [00:37:39] their children strong values is the way [00:37:42] we survive [00:37:43] don't be scared about it [00:37:46] god says [00:37:48] no weapon formed against you shall [00:37:51] prosper so be bold be strong know that [00:37:55] you were created by god that your life [00:37:57] has value and that god made you perfect [00:38:00] and beautiful [00:38:02] and also that there are factors that you [00:38:05] can choose in your life like marriage [00:38:07] and happiness and starting a family i [00:38:09] know it's not for everyone but the data [00:38:11] shows [00:38:12] that it does provide happiness i know [00:38:14] mom down here in the first row is like [00:38:16] yeah [00:38:18] yes [00:38:19] what's up oh heart [00:38:24] now the best part about this is i can [00:38:25] prove it [00:38:26] i can prove all of these theories to be [00:38:28] correct i can show you empirically [00:38:31] that [00:38:32] if you follow these [00:38:36] pieces of advice [00:38:38] and i've only been a father for two [00:38:39] years but i've been thinking about this [00:38:40] for a while [00:38:41] that you will end up [00:38:43] a total badass [00:38:45] i can promise you [00:38:49] haley mcinney [00:38:51] answering a question on coronavirus [00:38:54] let's go [00:38:56] does the washington post want to take [00:38:57] back that they told americans to get a [00:39:00] grip the flu is bigger than the [00:39:01] coronavirus does the washington post [00:39:03] likewise want to take back that our [00:39:05] brains are causing us to exaggerate the [00:39:07] threat of the coronavirus does the new [00:39:09] york times want to take back that fear [00:39:11] of the virus may be [00:39:13] spreading faster than the virus itself [00:39:15] does npr want to take back that the flu [00:39:17] was a much bigger threat than the [00:39:18] coronavirus and finally once again the [00:39:20] washington post would they like to take [00:39:22] back that the government should not [00:39:24] respond aggressively to the coronavirus [00:39:26] i'll leave you with those questions and [00:39:28] maybe you'll have some answers [00:39:29] in a few days [00:39:32] thank you very much [00:39:35] audio is a little off on that one okay [00:39:37] there you go [00:39:38] kaylee stunning all right so let's see [00:39:40] what happens if you don't follow this [00:39:42] advice [00:39:43] and you're asked a question on [00:39:44] coronavirus [00:39:49] groups [00:39:50] at vaccination centers when they get [00:39:52] stood up across the country does the [00:39:53] white house support that request [00:39:56] i did ask our team about this you or [00:39:58] someone else may have asked about this [00:40:00] the other day i think i have something [00:40:02] on it here one moment [00:40:06] circle back circle back [00:40:09] thanks for your patience [00:40:12] no doubt about it [00:40:14] [Music] [00:40:16] so [00:40:18] let's see [00:40:23] let me let me let me um talk to our team [00:40:26] about it [00:40:28] [Music] [00:40:28] [Laughter] [00:40:32] bad [00:40:35] that's what kaylee mcinnes briefing [00:40:37] binder looked like [00:40:41] that's what jen saki's briefing binder [00:40:42] looked like [00:40:46] somebody who needed to go to a couple [00:40:48] extra briefings [00:40:50] [Applause] [00:40:52] we look at these figures and we say oh [00:40:54] unemployment is low everything is fine [00:40:56] right well unemployment is low because [00:40:58] everyone has two jobs [00:41:00] unemployment is low because people are [00:41:02] working 60 70 80 hours a week and can [00:41:05] barely feed their kids and so i do think [00:41:08] that right now when we have this [00:41:11] no holds barred wild west hyper [00:41:14] capitalism [00:41:15] what that means is profit at any cost [00:41:19] capitalism has not always existed in the [00:41:22] world and it will not always exist in [00:41:24] the world [00:41:29] wow [00:41:31] i'm very glad we're having this event in [00:41:32] texas are there any texans [00:41:35] in the audience [00:41:37] do you like your wild west no holds [00:41:39] barred capitalism down here [00:41:42] do you like being masculist down here [00:41:45] i love texas [00:41:49] sorry aoc [00:41:51] no communism down here so what's the [00:41:54] equivalent so this is what this is what [00:41:56] the left sends to congress what do you [00:41:59] send to congress as a young conservative [00:42:01] women [00:42:03] thank you madam speaker democrat [00:42:05] policies are so pathetic and have done [00:42:07] so poorly that the left has nothing else [00:42:09] to do patrol the internet looking for [00:42:11] ways to get offended and then try to [00:42:14] target members and strip them other [00:42:16] committees this is a dumb waste of the [00:42:18] house's time but since the speaker has [00:42:22] designated the floor to discuss members [00:42:25] inappropriate actions [00:42:27] shall we [00:42:28] the jihad squad member from minnesota [00:42:30] has paid her husband and not her brother [00:42:33] husband the other one over a million [00:42:35] dollars in campaign funds this member is [00:42:38] allowed on the foreign affairs committee [00:42:42] while praising [00:42:43] terrorists [00:42:45] a democrat chairwoman incited further [00:42:48] violence in the streets outside of a [00:42:50] courthouse and then the cherry on top [00:42:53] my colleague and three-month [00:42:55] presidential candidate from california [00:42:58] who is on the intelligence committee [00:43:01] slept with fang fang a chinese spy let [00:43:05] me say that again a member of congress [00:43:07] who receives classifieds [00:43:10] sleeping [00:43:16] [Applause] [00:43:20] in two days time [00:43:22] in two days time i am traveling to [00:43:25] rifle colorado [00:43:26] lauren bobert's hometown [00:43:28] where lauren bobert has a restaurant [00:43:31] called shooters [00:43:33] that is the number one place that no [00:43:36] armed criminal would ever dare go [00:43:38] because lauren bobert demanded that [00:43:40] every waitress at her restaurant [00:43:44] open carry [00:43:45] [Applause] [00:43:46] and [00:43:47] take target practice [00:43:49] [Applause] [00:43:49] [Music] [00:43:51] true story [00:43:53] coming soon [00:43:54] coming soon we're going to do a full [00:43:56] documentary on it's going to be awesome [00:43:59] that's [00:44:00] how you stop [00:44:01] a bad person [00:44:04] a good person [00:44:05] with a gun [00:44:07] [Applause] [00:44:08] lauren bobert [00:44:10] amazing [00:44:12] so [00:44:14] we are in texas any spanish speakers [00:44:18] who's a [00:44:43] made a poster out of it [00:44:45] we [00:44:47] it didn't stop her by the way this [00:44:49] didn't stop her from going and speaking [00:44:51] spanish again on behalf of my husband [00:44:54] and the people of the united states [00:44:57] buenas tares [00:44:59] [Applause] [00:45:01] [Laughter] [00:45:11] that is not how you represent america in [00:45:12] a foreign country if you're a first lady [00:45:15] that's the best they have to offer [00:45:17] but that's not how you represent america [00:45:19] in a foreign country [00:45:21] if you're the first lady of the united [00:45:22] states [00:45:24] this is how you represent [00:45:27] america [00:45:28] in a foreign country if you are the [00:45:30] president [00:45:31] of the united states [00:45:33] this [00:45:34] the jacket to go on the plane and [00:48:40] off the plane [00:48:41] and it was for the people and for the [00:48:43] left [00:48:45] wing media [00:48:46] who are criticizing me and i want to [00:48:48] show them that i don't care you could [00:48:50] create decides whatever [00:48:52] you want to say [00:48:54] you should do what i feel it's right [00:48:57] you want to know what it looks like to [00:48:58] be centered [00:48:59] on god to be centered in who you are i [00:49:02] don't care [00:49:04] i don't care [00:49:06] the left-wing media criticizing me i [00:49:08] don't care [00:49:10] that's what it looks like to be [00:49:11] confident and centered and to be proud [00:49:14] of who you are to be a mother and we [00:49:16] love melania [00:49:20] now who is the left-wing media who are [00:49:22] the people criticizing her [00:49:25] dr jill [00:49:27] becomes the surgeon general [00:49:31] joe biden's wife because she you know he [00:49:33] would never do but she it's yeah she's a [00:49:35] hell of a doctor she's an amazing doctor [00:49:38] and phd yeah i don't i don't know i [00:49:40] could be wrong [00:49:42] she's a teacher but you know [00:49:45] my [00:49:46] oh okay got it jill biden should be [00:49:48] surged in general [00:49:49] joe biden's a teacher she's like that [00:49:51] kind of doctor not the other doctor [00:49:52] whoopi that's okay don't let it stop you [00:49:56] it doesn't stop nancy pelosi [00:50:00] from saying things like this thank you [00:50:02] madam speaker um i'm with cns news the [00:50:04] supreme court this fall will review a [00:50:06] mississippi law that bans most abortions [00:50:08] after 15 weeks of pregnancy is an unborn [00:50:10] baby get 15 weeks of human being [00:50:14] let me just say that i am a big [00:50:16] supporter of roe v wade i am a mother of [00:50:19] five children in six years i think had [00:50:21] some standing on this issue as to [00:50:24] respecting women's right to choose is it [00:50:26] a human being [00:50:32] let me help you out nancy [00:50:34] first off [00:50:35] nancy pelosi is banned from taking [00:50:38] communion in now four catholic dioceses [00:50:42] any catholics out there [00:50:44] good [00:50:46] and here's [00:50:48] a very helpful chart for you nancy [00:50:50] that's your body that's someone else's [00:50:52] body case closed [00:50:55] in america we have a constitutional [00:50:57] right to life liberty and the pursuit of [00:50:59] happiness and first among them is life [00:51:02] abortion takes a human life and abortion [00:51:05] is therefore [00:51:06] unconstitutional because it robs a human [00:51:09] being and an american of life the end [00:51:12] [Applause] [00:51:16] so if you're a conservative woman who do [00:51:17] you send to congress to defend [00:51:19] our opinions on abortion that's who they [00:51:21] send nancy pelosi who do we send well [00:51:24] how about just like a regular mom who's [00:51:26] a pro-life mom [00:51:27] and it's a pro-life mom versus a very [00:51:29] powerful democrat what i'm about to show [00:51:31] you in a hearing about abortion pro-life [00:51:33] mom versus extremely powerful democrat [00:51:35] here's how it went is candidly [00:51:37] and openly calling for a nationwide [00:51:41] ban [00:51:42] on all abortions with no exceptions [00:51:46] for rape [00:51:47] or incest [00:51:48] and if i've got that wrong [00:51:50] i would invite miss foster to correct me [00:51:53] do i have a wrong yes or no [00:51:55] um if we added rape and incest [00:51:56] exceptions would you vote for it [00:51:58] okay [00:51:59] i reclaim my time of course [00:52:05] [Applause] [00:52:07] [Laughter] [00:52:14] charlie this is not an endorsement of [00:52:15] marijuana i promise charlie this is not [00:52:18] please don't fire me charlie kirk [00:52:21] that's how powerful a just regular [00:52:23] conservative american mom from the [00:52:26] heartland is [00:52:28] destroying [00:52:30] the best libs have to offer [00:52:33] wrecking them [00:52:34] [Applause] [00:52:35] guys name's jamie raskin he sucks [00:52:39] okay so that's who we send to defend [00:52:41] women rights [00:52:44] on capitol hill [00:52:45] who does the left send to defend women [00:52:47] on capitol hill [00:52:51] uh can you provide a definition for the [00:52:53] word woman [00:52:56] can i provide a definition no yeah i [00:53:00] can't [00:53:01] you can't [00:53:04] not in this context [00:53:10] [Applause] [00:53:12] any biologists in the room [00:53:15] raise your hand if you know what a woman [00:53:17] is [00:53:19] raise your hand if you've seen matt [00:53:20] walsh's recent documentary [00:53:24] pretty amazing adult human female that's [00:53:26] where a woman is i should be on the [00:53:28] supreme court who would love to see that [00:53:29] who would love to see [00:53:32] who would love to see [00:53:34] her on the supreme court [00:53:35] [Applause] [00:53:40] than to actually address that i said to [00:53:43] the things that i said today that are [00:53:44] actually harming black america number [00:53:46] one father absence number two the [00:53:49] education system and the illiteracy rate [00:53:51] illegal immigration ranks high abortion [00:53:53] ranks high white supremacy and white [00:53:55] nationalism if i had to make a list [00:53:57] again of 100 things would not be on it [00:54:00] this hearing in my opinion is a farce [00:54:03] and it is ironic that you're sitting [00:54:04] here and you're having three caucasian [00:54:06] people testify and tell you what their [00:54:08] expertise are do i know my expertise are [00:54:10] black in america i've been black in [00:54:12] america my whole life all 30 years and i [00:54:14] can tell you that you guys have done the [00:54:16] exact same thing every four years ahead [00:54:18] of an election cycle and it needs to [00:54:19] stop [00:54:21] [Applause] [00:54:27] that's who we send to congress all right [00:54:36] and so thank you [00:54:37] for listening to this presentation this [00:54:40] is what i want to show my daughters this [00:54:41] is what i want to tell my daughters [00:54:43] someday [00:54:44] when they stop puking on me and when i [00:54:46] stop changing their diapers [00:54:48] i want them to see clips like candace [00:54:49] owens i want them to hang out with [00:54:51] candace i want them to be friends with [00:54:53] great conservative women i want [00:54:56] amazing conservative women like you all [00:55:00] to be their friends it's the most [00:55:02] powerful thing you can do [00:55:04] is introduce and make culture together [00:55:07] and this is such a powerful culture and [00:55:10] such a powerful event and it's such a [00:55:12] special event this is lauren tonsich [00:55:15] lauren is the person who is the events [00:55:17] director at turning point usa recently [00:55:19] promoted to vice president lauren [00:55:22] thompson's ladies and gentlemen she's [00:55:25] the reason it all happens [00:55:29] this [00:55:30] this is the role model for my daughter [00:55:34] eloise [00:55:35] and my other daughter juliet [00:55:37] i want them to grow up to be lauren one [00:55:39] day [00:55:41] well betty actually first of all takes [00:55:43] the whole team against senior the best [00:55:45] but um i know you had some flight delays [00:55:48] you did benny did everything in his [00:55:49] power to get here by the way like so [00:55:51] thankful for that but unfortunately [00:55:53] nurse kate and juliet couldn't make it [00:55:55] but we have a surprise for you [00:55:58] they want to say hi [00:55:59] so [00:56:00] if we could get them up real quick [00:56:04] [Applause] [00:56:07] hi everyone [00:56:09] we're sorry we couldn't be there but [00:56:10] we're so excited to look at the [00:56:12] nightline this way [00:56:14] what is are they on what is this are [00:56:16] this is this live [00:56:19] yeah we're alive [00:56:21] [Applause] [00:56:23] [Laughter] [00:56:28] got the whole crew [00:56:30] [Music] [00:56:31] [Applause] [00:56:32] well julie [00:56:37] julietta juliet's a little fussy so [00:56:39] we're hanging in there but [00:56:42] we wish we could have been there in [00:56:43] person [00:56:45] we tried really hard [00:56:50] [Applause] [00:56:57] hi [00:56:58] [Applause] [00:57:00] so that's juliet this is eloise [00:57:04] and this is nurse kate my wonderful wife [00:57:12] they couldn't be here because we had to [00:57:13] fly sort of like overnight the the they [00:57:15] were gonna be here [00:57:17] but we had to fly overnight and uh for a [00:57:20] long time we can't do that with with a [00:57:21] one month old juliet is one month old [00:57:26] um [00:57:27] well i'm just going to sit here and [00:57:29] stare at my beautiful family i think i'm [00:57:32] here as a proud girl dad [00:57:36] [Laughter] [00:57:40] and stare at my [00:57:42] beautiful kids [00:57:43] [Music] [00:57:49] okay always wants to sit so she can see [00:57:56] uh i guess i i guess we have a we have [00:58:00] 10 more minutes left on the clock you [00:58:01] want to do some q a you want to like [00:58:04] maybe we can maybe we can make this work [00:58:08] we're done i'm done with the [00:58:09] presentation although we could again we [00:58:11] can just do [00:58:13] family feud [00:58:19] and i guess we'll go as the kate will go [00:58:21] as long as you can [00:58:22] okay you'd love the chandeliers here by [00:58:24] the way alex clark did an incredible job [00:58:27] the whole vibe there is so cool i'm [00:58:29] really [00:58:30] i seriously am so bummed i can't be [00:58:32] there [00:58:36] they are too [00:58:40] all right yes [00:58:42] hello oh [00:58:43] my name is hiro and i'm very interested [00:58:46] in becoming a nurse but right now with [00:58:48] all the vaccinations [00:58:50] requirements and the politics that are [00:58:53] now surrounding [00:58:54] well medical issues and well your wife [00:58:57] is a nurse but [00:58:59] so i'm wondering if you have any advice [00:59:01] or [00:59:02] information on how i could [00:59:05] stand strong as a christian and to my [00:59:08] political beliefs in that industry now [00:59:10] yes [00:59:11] uh [00:59:12] kate do you want this was a nursing [00:59:14] question do you want to take that [00:59:16] yeah sorry julia it's fussy [00:59:20] but um [00:59:22] so [00:59:23] one don't compromise on things that are [00:59:25] fundamental core beliefs ever [00:59:27] there are some escapes that are easier [00:59:29] to practice in than others and if it's [00:59:31] something that you really feel called [00:59:33] and desired to do [00:59:34] um you might want to consider where [00:59:36] you're looking to practice so [00:59:39] i was really fortunate to be able to [00:59:41] work with governor desantis here in [00:59:43] florida to create some [00:59:46] some special [00:59:48] accommodations for nurses who have been [00:59:51] displaced from their home states and [00:59:53] florida has welcomed [00:59:55] the unclean unvaccinated with open arms [00:59:59] and protected our rights to practice [01:00:01] here [01:00:02] without fear and retribution for [01:00:05] you know not complying with these [01:00:08] mandates that other states are enforcing [01:00:11] [Laughter] [01:00:17] move to a state like florida where [01:00:18] vaccine mandates are illegal like they [01:00:21] should be [01:00:22] in every state [01:00:24] please [01:00:26] hi you're obviously a very proud father [01:00:28] what would be a great piece of advice [01:00:30] for young parents or student to be [01:00:32] parents [01:00:33] that it's the greatest thing you will [01:00:34] ever do with your life and there's a [01:00:36] reason why you're drawn to it there's a [01:00:38] reason why you see a cute kid and you go [01:00:40] oh like you don't say that to anything [01:00:43] you know you don't you don't walk into a [01:00:45] movie theater and see some guy with [01:00:46] popcorn and go oh [01:00:49] you're you're drawn to it [01:00:51] you're drawn to it because it's [01:00:52] something that's that's innate in you [01:00:54] and god is a creator and he gives you a [01:00:57] chance to create [01:00:59] and and how beautiful is that it's woven [01:01:02] into who you are and that's why the left [01:01:04] wants to destroy who you are [01:01:07] and wouldn't you want to see this every [01:01:08] morning when you wake up [01:01:10] [Applause] [01:01:12] thank you [01:01:15] hi this is my favorite event of the year [01:01:17] from turning point i love getting to be [01:01:19] encouraged and learn how to be a good [01:01:21] american and a good woman [01:01:23] but when are the boys from my chapter [01:01:25] going to have their own opportunity to [01:01:26] get [01:01:27] a specific education on how to be good [01:01:29] american men oh [01:01:33] let me tell you let me tell you i have [01:01:35] an announcement to make [01:01:39] i have been working [01:01:41] i have been working [01:01:43] on getting some strong men together [01:01:47] to do a men's conference [01:01:49] a men's leadership conference [01:01:51] and [01:01:52] the first speaker i'm going to book [01:01:55] at that conference [01:01:57] his name [01:01:59] is kyle rittenhouse [01:02:04] [Applause] [01:02:13] how's it going benny [01:02:15] how are you [01:02:16] [Applause] [01:02:19] kyle [01:02:21] and who is this is milo kyle and milo [01:02:25] you have kyle milo and the babies what [01:02:28] more could you ask for ywls [01:02:34] i just want to introduce kyle by saying [01:02:35] this [01:02:36] we talk a lot about oh [01:02:40] hey you [01:02:41] we talk [01:02:42] i wanted to talk a lot about what kind [01:02:44] of man you should want to be attracted [01:02:46] to [01:02:47] hey you [01:02:49] or if you're a dog person [01:02:52] dogs are the best [01:02:54] man men [01:02:56] your number one goal is to protect [01:02:59] your family and to stand strong in the [01:03:01] face of opposition from culture and evil [01:03:04] and kyle rittenhouse is a man who does [01:03:06] that god bless kyle [01:03:07] [Applause] [01:03:11] [Music] [01:03:14] thank you guys thank you guys for all [01:03:16] the support and everything thank you [01:03:17] guys for the prayers and thank you guys [01:03:19] for being strong women [01:03:22] [Applause] [01:03:28] so does anybody have any questions i [01:03:29] think uh we're gonna do some q and a's [01:03:31] you right there [01:03:33] oh this is for benny and kate um my name [01:03:36] is stephanie and what about milo well [01:03:39] it's about marriage so my fiance and i [01:03:41] are getting married in august and um [01:03:45] we met at sas 2020 so just you can find [01:03:48] your future spouse at sas yes [01:03:51] yes round of applause [01:03:54] but i was just wondering what your [01:03:55] guys's best piece of advice for [01:03:57] marriage-wise [01:03:58] kate best advice for marriage [01:04:03] um [01:04:04] you know i i [01:04:07] i think the one thing that we [01:04:10] that keeps us going every day is it [01:04:13] the advice that my grandmother uh [01:04:16] gave us [01:04:17] and it's you know nothing's ever going [01:04:19] to be perfect but you just have to make [01:04:21] sure that you are prioritizing each [01:04:23] other and you you put down your life for [01:04:26] the other person every day [01:04:28] and i can't sound kind of trite but it's [01:04:31] true and if you practice that you will [01:04:33] have a very happy marriage [01:04:38] do not let them [01:04:40] do not let them lie to you [01:04:42] do not let them lie to you i wake up [01:04:44] every morning wanting to serve my wife [01:04:48] to protect my family [01:04:50] and that [01:04:51] makes such a str and if you if you marry [01:04:54] someone that wants to serve you that's [01:04:56] not old-fashioned that's the way it's [01:04:58] supposed to work that's the way you're [01:05:00] designed [01:05:01] to be [01:05:03] it's the best [01:05:05] it's an and i make incredible pancakes [01:05:08] and so i'm up cooking breakfast in the [01:05:10] morning [01:05:11] kate's up all night with the babies [01:05:13] and that like being [01:05:16] serving [01:05:18] serving each other [01:05:19] like serving each other you were like [01:05:21] you will never find a better life than [01:05:23] like waking up and thinking wow i could [01:05:26] my life didn't even exist [01:05:28] before this woman [01:05:30] or and my life i can't even remember my [01:05:32] life before these kids [01:05:34] like everything like history began when [01:05:36] i started when i had kids with a woman i [01:05:38] loved [01:05:39] and so that's what you should aim for [01:05:42] [Applause] [01:05:45] okay so i kind of have two questions i [01:05:47] was not expecting you to walk out sorry [01:05:50] so you can go second um [01:05:54] so as in today's culture you know like [01:05:57] it's kind of off for like a dude to want [01:05:59] to be a girl dad so what did you expect [01:06:01] going into parenthood like before you [01:06:03] found out the gender like were you [01:06:05] excited or like were you just like i do [01:06:08] not want to go i want a boy you want to [01:06:09] be a boy dad i think every every man [01:06:12] wants to be a boy dad right every man is [01:06:15] like you grow up a boy and you're like i [01:06:16] want to throw the football and baseball [01:06:19] and hold his head underwater and [01:06:22] right like you kind of it's selfish [01:06:24] because you know what boys are like and [01:06:25] so you kind of want a boy right [01:06:28] and i say this to boy dads like like you [01:06:30] want to be a boy dad until you have a [01:06:32] girl [01:06:35] man [01:06:36] and then you realize like how big your [01:06:38] heart can get [01:06:39] and i watch my other my friends who have [01:06:43] sons [01:06:44] my buddies who have sons and every [01:06:46] second of their life every moment of [01:06:48] their day [01:06:49] if their sons can walk as soon as their [01:06:51] sons can walk they are uh protecting [01:06:54] themselves from being punched directly [01:06:55] in the nuts [01:06:57] and that's what little boys do they come [01:06:59] up they kick you they punch it right [01:07:01] they like bite you [01:07:02] and my little daughter just wants to sit [01:07:04] on my lap and read a story that's all [01:07:06] she wants right and cuddle and i'm down [01:07:09] for that everyone's like she's gonna be [01:07:10] crazy when she's a teenager i don't care [01:07:12] man like dude no no nothing could stop [01:07:16] me like from from wanting this [01:07:18] incredible experience with my three [01:07:21] girls and i'm just the proudest girl dad [01:07:23] in the world [01:07:26] this conference has done an awful job at [01:07:28] fueling my baby fever like [01:07:32] i cannot um so i guess my question for [01:07:34] you kyle is so i recently finished like [01:07:37] my tactical force and law enforcement [01:07:39] training and stuff like that [01:07:43] i'm trying to represent like the petite [01:07:45] girl community in law enforcement but [01:07:48] um i got into it like during all the blm [01:07:51] stuff and it's to for my steps to go [01:07:53] into like law school or whatever but i [01:07:55] wanted to ask you before your case like [01:07:58] what was your involvement like in court [01:08:00] systems or like criminal justice or [01:08:03] anything like that [01:08:04] well before my shooting i was actually a [01:08:06] police explorer for grades like [01:08:08] lyndonhurst police department to where i [01:08:10] just learned the fundamentals about law [01:08:12] enforcement what they deal with on a [01:08:13] day-to-day basis [01:08:19] uh just a poll who would like to see [01:08:21] kyle rittenhouse go into law enforcement [01:08:25] [Applause] [01:08:28] just tell me and i will move to that [01:08:29] block i will be the safest block in [01:08:31] america [01:08:32] [Applause] [01:08:34] hey my name is jasmine [01:08:37] i'm from texas [01:08:41] okay so i don't want this to sound [01:08:42] demeaning in any way i wrote my question [01:08:45] on my phone so uh-oh [01:08:46] um i understand you're coming from a [01:08:49] good place when you say that god wants [01:08:51] you to be happy [01:08:52] and i can tell that you're absolutely so [01:08:54] grateful for the family that you have [01:08:56] and i don't want to wish this upon [01:08:58] anyone but if it's god's will would you [01:09:01] still be happy if god decided to take [01:09:05] a family that he so graciously best [01:09:07] bless you with away would you still be [01:09:10] able to stand strong in your faith to [01:09:12] the world and show the world that god is [01:09:15] the sole purpose for your joy yes that's [01:09:17] right jesus says in matthew when they [01:09:19] asked about his mother wait a second you [01:09:21] all are my mother you all are my [01:09:23] brothers [01:09:24] if kate and i if i ca [01:09:26] kate's mother is adopted she comes from [01:09:28] a completely she comes from an adopted [01:09:30] family her grandparents adopted her [01:09:31] mother [01:09:32] those are those are as precious of [01:09:34] families as any [01:09:36] like your your your family is here your [01:09:39] family is among you and god wants you to [01:09:41] be a light unto the world and so my i [01:09:44] have a mother and father [01:09:46] i have my wife [01:09:48] if that's all god gave to me then i am i [01:09:51] have a spring of happiness in my heart [01:09:53] because i still get to be here with milo [01:09:55] sitting on my shoe and that's like this [01:09:57] is the happiest i've been in a long time [01:09:59] milo's on my shoes a beautiful dog the [01:10:02] point the point is [01:10:04] the point is is that um there's all [01:10:06] there's all types of families [01:10:08] and and god calls us to be light unto [01:10:10] the world regardless of our [01:10:11] circumstances and so be happy yes and be [01:10:14] thankful [01:10:17] thank you um [01:10:19] so [01:10:20] i want to [01:10:21] grow my social media and hopefully be [01:10:24] involved with turning point one day [01:10:27] and i saw that you just recently got to [01:10:30] 1 million followers so congratulations [01:10:32] on that too [01:10:33] [Applause] [01:10:34] but how did you grow it so much and so [01:10:39] and like how did you [01:10:41] get to be involved as turning point and [01:10:43] get to do these speeches [01:10:45] okay uh i'm being told this is the last [01:10:48] question so i'm very sorry but they're [01:10:50] telling us from backstage this is our [01:10:51] last question but yes absolutely so um [01:10:58] first off [01:11:00] i must [01:11:01] tell you [01:11:02] that the best way [01:11:04] to [01:11:05] get involved is to start a chapter [01:11:08] please start a turning point chapter at [01:11:10] your high school at your college [01:11:12] wherever you happen to be there's even a [01:11:14] turning point alumni organization that [01:11:16] my parents are a part of right [01:11:18] you know so to please start turning [01:11:20] point chapters uh first and foremost [01:11:23] and then secondly [01:11:24] man be [01:11:29] have a message [01:11:30] that is based in truth [01:11:33] any people will be attracted to it [01:11:36] people know [01:11:37] truth when they see it their they're [01:11:39] drawn to it [01:11:41] and so if you're speaking truth and if [01:11:42] you're talking and speaking things that [01:11:44] are in our souls like it's great to be [01:11:48] man like there are not that many [01:11:50] there are not that many fathers out [01:11:52] there that are super like that are super [01:11:54] in your face about how great fatherhood [01:11:56] is [01:11:56] why [01:11:57] we should be talking about that all the [01:11:59] time to young men [01:12:00] the lack of fathers in this nation is [01:12:03] the biggest epidemic and pandemic and [01:12:06] endemic in this country [01:12:08] we need more men to be like yes i love [01:12:11] my wife i love my family [01:12:14] i'm not addicted to pornography i'm not [01:12:16] addicted to alcohol and those aren't the [01:12:18] ways to happiness i am true to my wife [01:12:22] and that is actually like an incredible [01:12:23] way to live it's the way my [01:12:25] great-grandfather lived and there's [01:12:26] truth and happiness in that and so i [01:12:28] guess speaking truth i suppose is how [01:12:30] you grow on social media [01:12:32] um [01:12:33] you know [01:12:34] i'm a terrible dancer so i can't do guys i'm with blaze tv i [01:15:33] host a show called the news and why it [01:15:35] matters i also have a beauty brand we're [01:15:39] trying to uh fight liberals trying to [01:15:41] erase women [01:15:43] and celebrate femininity and the way [01:15:46] that god created us it is called [01:15:47] american beauty by sarah [01:15:50] and we're happy to to be here today [01:15:54] deb hi i'm debra heine and i write for [01:15:56] american greatness [01:15:58] um before that i wrote for pj media and [01:16:01] before that breitbart and before that i [01:16:05] had my own blog [01:16:06] i'm a mother of six children ages [01:16:10] thank you [01:16:11] ages 19 to 32. [01:16:14] and i worked at home you know for [01:16:19] the entire time that i was doing [01:16:20] journalism and [01:16:22] um when my children were young i was a [01:16:25] stay-at-home mom [01:16:26] so [01:16:27] yeah [01:16:28] six children [01:16:30] that's amazing that's quite an [01:16:31] accomplishment um i i am i'm a slacker [01:16:34] because i only have the two [01:16:36] um i have two boys who i am raising to [01:16:38] be very strong men [01:16:40] and uh yeah [01:16:42] faith family freedom most important [01:16:45] things in in our household and we wanted [01:16:48] to talk to you today about how to [01:16:50] maintain this work-life balance um and i [01:16:53] know something that charlie is always [01:16:56] talking about is um [01:16:58] there are these women created by the [01:17:01] feminist movement who go through life [01:17:03] thinking that their success is measured [01:17:06] in [01:17:07] solely their careers and where they are [01:17:10] uh in their careers and so they go [01:17:12] through life and they put off having [01:17:13] children and then before they know it [01:17:15] they're 45 and they have blue hair and [01:17:18] they're alone and they have their cats [01:17:19] and they're wondering why they're so [01:17:22] unhappy in life and so just you know [01:17:24] speaking as moms but also [01:17:27] women who are in the workforce um we [01:17:30] just know that that is that's something [01:17:31] that is really really prevalent right [01:17:33] now is women trying to juggle figure out [01:17:36] find their place in life and uh you know [01:17:38] i think that it's important to deb i [01:17:40] wanna i want you to speak to this um but [01:17:43] i think that it's important for women to [01:17:45] recognize that their success is not [01:17:48] measured just in their careers and so [01:17:51] often they forget that [01:17:52] their [01:17:53] god designed us to have these babies he [01:17:56] didn't design us [01:17:58] just to birth the babies and then leave [01:18:00] him and let him get raised by someone [01:18:01] else right god designed us to have these [01:18:04] babies and nurture them into adulthood [01:18:07] and that is how you measure your success [01:18:09] it's not just the career careers are [01:18:11] amazing [01:18:12] trust me i love mine i know deb loves [01:18:15] hers but the real success you you can't [01:18:18] forget is measured in what god designed [01:18:21] us all to do which is have these babies [01:18:23] and raise them to be good stewards [01:18:25] of this country doug and in fact a very [01:18:28] wise friend told me molly hemingway [01:18:31] who teaches a class at hillsdale college [01:18:33] for journalism she told me she tells her [01:18:36] kids that [01:18:37] 99 of their happiness is going to come [01:18:39] from things outside their career [01:18:42] meaning their family their friends their [01:18:45] church [01:18:46] and those are the things that you need [01:18:47] to focus on and nurture in your you know [01:18:50] in your life [01:18:51] um [01:18:52] and i i would add that maybe some of you [01:18:55] will have more than one percent [01:18:57] happiness from your careers and that's [01:18:58] okay [01:19:00] but if it's [01:19:01] like most of your [01:19:03] happiness and fulfillment is coming from [01:19:04] career over your family then things [01:19:07] maybe be a little out of whack for you [01:19:09] so [01:19:10] the focus should always be on the family [01:19:12] and [01:19:13] your boss whoever you works for [01:19:16] hopefully they understand that family [01:19:18] comes first [01:19:20] do you think that with the uh with the [01:19:23] pandemic that that has kind of changed [01:19:25] employers views on [01:19:27] right remote you know remote work and [01:19:30] working from home and trying to juggle [01:19:32] all of the all of them through in fact a [01:19:33] lot of women that went home during the [01:19:36] pandemic and started working remotely [01:19:37] didn't want to go back to work yeah you [01:19:39] know they were really happy being at [01:19:41] home with the kids yeah [01:19:43] so [01:19:44] um [01:19:45] having you know finding an employer [01:19:47] that's flexible and can work with you on [01:19:50] maybe reduced hours or [01:19:53] working from home is really helpful [01:19:55] especially when the kids are very young [01:19:57] i mean from [01:19:59] you know the first [01:20:00] five years of life you really want to be [01:20:02] at home with your kids i think but but [01:20:06] i think you would agree with me here to [01:20:07] tell me if i'm wrong that there really [01:20:09] isn't just [01:20:10] one path right you don't have to say i'm [01:20:13] going to be totally a stay-at-home mom [01:20:15] forever or i'm going to work and have a [01:20:17] career you can i think in a sense have [01:20:20] it all as long as your priorities are [01:20:23] aligned [01:20:24] right would you agree with that right [01:20:26] and right now um [01:20:28] well we're seeing a declining growth [01:20:29] rate because millennials don't think you [01:20:31] can't have it all they think [01:20:33] it's either career or family and you [01:20:36] can't have both well [01:20:38] you know in a traditional capitalistic [01:20:40] system [01:20:42] i think you can have both it's it's not [01:20:45] always easy you're going to have to make [01:20:46] sacrifices you're not going to have [01:20:48] everything you want you may not be able [01:20:50] to get your nails done every week or you [01:20:53] know drive a fancy car and wear designer [01:20:55] clothes and have your kids wear designer [01:20:58] clothes and [01:20:59] have everything they want and you're not [01:21:01] maybe going to be able to afford [01:21:02] expensive vacations [01:21:05] but [01:21:06] it's doable because we did it on one [01:21:09] income i are any of you out there [01:21:11] familiar with phyllis schlafly [01:21:16] so i think that she was so right dead on [01:21:18] when she was fighting against the equal [01:21:21] rights amendment and then you know [01:21:23] people go well why would you fight [01:21:24] against the equal rights amendment well [01:21:25] she said men and women are not equal we [01:21:28] are different and treating us as equal [01:21:31] will lead to things like abortion on [01:21:32] demand you think we're seeing that right [01:21:34] now [01:21:36] she talked about uh women you know then [01:21:38] women are going to be drafted women are [01:21:39] going to join the military this is not [01:21:41] what we need this is not good for our [01:21:42] society and so now we're seeing [01:21:45] that all of these things that she [01:21:46] predicted is coming true to the point [01:21:48] where we are now making women more [01:21:51] masculine we're reversing the roles [01:21:53] right we're we're expecting our women [01:21:56] we've got all these feminists who are [01:21:57] super masculine while we are uh [01:21:59] emasculating the men and making the men [01:22:02] more feminine [01:22:03] then you're seeing men come into place [01:22:05] where you know uh good old leah thomas [01:22:08] who is you know taking away [01:22:10] women's championships women's [01:22:12] scholarships we're seeing the erasure of [01:22:14] women and i think really we can if you [01:22:16] go backwards you can pinpoint that part [01:22:20] of that big issue was treating men and [01:22:22] women as if we are the same because [01:22:24] we're not [01:22:26] we're not [01:22:29] and so i think um [01:22:31] you know when you when you look at and [01:22:33] look i i'm not i'm not saying this to be [01:22:36] mean but i really do think if you look [01:22:38] at [01:22:39] feminists [01:22:41] whatever they're protesting if they're [01:22:42] over at an abortion rally or if they're [01:22:44] over at a somehow they like trans rights [01:22:47] which is really weird because the trans [01:22:49] people want to erase them but whatever [01:22:51] or they're at you know a gun control [01:22:53] rally or whatever the case may be [01:22:55] what do they have in common they're [01:22:57] really really angry [01:22:59] they're really angry do you know why [01:23:02] because they're living a lie they're [01:23:04] living an inauthentic life because [01:23:07] biologically [01:23:09] we were made with maternal instincts we [01:23:11] were made i mean you hear the the term [01:23:13] maternal instincts thrown around that's [01:23:16] because i mean instinct means [01:23:18] biologically you are designed to to be [01:23:21] that way and they're fighting against [01:23:22] that [01:23:23] right and you can only fight against [01:23:25] that for so long before it takes a toll [01:23:28] on you and sure i i can imagine that [01:23:30] they would be angry because they are [01:23:31] fighting against their biological need [01:23:34] to have these families to have these [01:23:36] babies to settle down and to put their [01:23:39] families first [01:23:42] true and the problem is it's permeated [01:23:44] society this whole you know woke [01:23:47] ideology [01:23:48] and [01:23:49] um it's infiltrated the schools it's [01:23:51] infiltrated um preschools you know all [01:23:54] the way down to you know three and [01:23:56] four-year-olds [01:23:58] and so [01:23:59] if you are having to put your children [01:24:01] in a daycare facility you have to really [01:24:03] vet it you have to [01:24:06] hopefully find something a place that [01:24:08] shares your values but even then [01:24:11] you know check out the staff [01:24:14] and [01:24:14] ask questions you know [01:24:17] ask ask the the proprietor um [01:24:20] what is a woman you know to take a page [01:24:22] out of matt walsh's book [01:24:24] ask if if men can have babies ask how [01:24:27] many genders there are [01:24:29] if [01:24:30] the answers to those questions aren't to [01:24:32] your liking i'd move on yeah so deb do [01:24:36] you think that there is like what role [01:24:38] does faith play into family is there a [01:24:41] biblical obligation to start a family [01:24:44] oh [01:24:45] [Music] [01:24:46] faith plays a huge role in in family [01:24:48] because [01:24:50] it helps you get through the the rough [01:24:52] patches it's your anchor and [01:24:54] rough waters and [01:24:56] your trials and tribulations you know [01:24:59] um and of course raising your children [01:25:02] in the faith is important too because [01:25:05] thank you [01:25:07] which means [01:25:08] not just taking to church on sunday but [01:25:11] through their you know the entire week [01:25:13] you know prayering at the praying at the [01:25:16] dinner table and [01:25:17] um having faith conversations at home [01:25:20] um you know as a catholic we have um [01:25:24] family traditions during holiday seasons [01:25:27] and holidays so there's [01:25:29] you know an advent wreath during advent [01:25:31] and uh we give something up for lent and [01:25:34] you know it [01:25:35] you just [01:25:37] make your faith something that is [01:25:40] every day year-round instead of just for [01:25:43] on sunday [01:25:47] and so i think when uh [01:25:50] women [01:25:52] get resentful or are unhappy uh in this [01:25:55] day and age i know [01:25:56] deb you mentioned millennials are having [01:25:59] children less and less uh even getting [01:26:02] married less and less they're more [01:26:03] focused on their career and whether it's [01:26:05] economic reasons or otherwise when you [01:26:08] look at [01:26:11] the [01:26:11] the resentment or the unhappiness that [01:26:14] women find [01:26:15] i think that really that comes from a [01:26:17] place of the imbalance between [01:26:20] expectations versus reality [01:26:22] right and that's that's where they [01:26:25] because they expect they've been taught [01:26:27] that you should you should just [01:26:30] kill your baby in order to save your [01:26:32] career you want to leg up in your career [01:26:34] it's okay kill your baby in the womb [01:26:36] uh if you do end up having it give it to [01:26:38] the government indoctrination camps [01:26:40] don't worry about it all as well and so [01:26:43] they expect that they are going that [01:26:45] they are supposed to do all of these [01:26:46] things and in reality that's just not [01:26:48] the way that it works and so that's when [01:26:50] they get this imbalance of i'm unhappy [01:26:53] i'm resentful because they've been sold [01:26:54] this lie [01:26:56] let me give you an example because i was [01:26:58] researching why millennials are not [01:27:00] having babies [01:27:02] and there's page after page if you [01:27:04] google it you know millennials basically [01:27:06] explaining why they're not having babies [01:27:09] and so there was one article that i read [01:27:12] nine brutally real reasons why [01:27:14] millennials refuse to have kids [01:27:17] and this is written in sort of a [01:27:19] tongue-in-cheek you know kind of clever [01:27:22] manner but she's dead serious [01:27:26] and it starts out like this [01:27:29] today's copulating post youths are much [01:27:32] more interested in their careers and [01:27:34] life goals than they are in raising from [01:27:37] a larval stage [01:27:39] a human money suck [01:27:43] that's so [01:27:44] gross goes on [01:27:47] the number of blissfully childless [01:27:49] couples has doubled since 1970 with only [01:27:53] about half of women ages 15 to 44 [01:27:56] squeezing some [01:27:58] out the decline in baby blobs worrisome [01:28:04] like your grandma [01:28:08] that's great somebody needs god in their [01:28:09] life yeah [01:28:12] and then she has the nine reasons and we [01:28:15] can we can go over those and discuss [01:28:17] them [01:28:18] uh [01:28:19] one [01:28:20] the world kind of sucks now [01:28:23] well [01:28:24] you know maybe your child could have [01:28:27] helped fix things but i guess we'll [01:28:29] never know [01:28:31] [Applause] [01:28:32] two [01:28:34] we're poor as hell [01:28:37] well aren't we all when we start out i [01:28:40] mean [01:28:40] we don't start out rich we work our way [01:28:43] you know we climb up the ladder [01:28:47] um i i have to tell you guys it is so [01:28:50] disheartening to hear [01:28:52] uh [01:28:53] that that statement right we're poor as [01:28:55] hell because they're it's just the [01:28:57] economics that they're focused on guys [01:28:59] the most fulfilling thing you will ever [01:29:01] do is become a mother and have a family [01:29:05] it is the most rewarding fulfilling [01:29:07] experience that you will ever do and [01:29:09] that's what i'm talking about your [01:29:10] success is not measured and it's great [01:29:12] if you have a career and i trust me i [01:29:14] love my career but where my real success [01:29:17] is is the job that i have that is the [01:29:19] most important job that i will ever [01:29:21] carry that i do not get paid for which [01:29:23] is my kids [01:29:25] and that's how you have to look at it um [01:29:28] it's the highest vocation for a woman [01:29:30] but it's not in the cards for every [01:29:32] woman so that's something you have to [01:29:33] keep in mind i i want to i know we we [01:29:36] only have a little bit of time left and [01:29:38] we wanted to take some questions um if [01:29:40] we're able to [01:29:42] so if anybody has a question [01:29:45] i can go on with the um [01:29:47] the nine of reasons we've got someone [01:29:49] out here [01:29:51] hi i'm riley i'm from texas hi riley um [01:29:54] i [01:29:55] um so i am a registered nurse and i've [01:29:57] had a very successful career for the [01:29:58] last four years um i've also been [01:30:00] married for the last five and a half and [01:30:02] i've got [01:30:03] got two beautiful baby girls at home who [01:30:05] i can't wait to see tonight good for you [01:30:08] and i also have a third one on the way [01:30:10] wow [01:30:10] [Music] [01:30:12] thank you thank you um [01:30:14] so those things combined my career has [01:30:16] been extremely fulfilling i love what i [01:30:18] do i'm a pediatric oncology nurse okay [01:30:21] so i'm very very proud and i'm proud to [01:30:23] do that and i love doing it however i [01:30:25] love being home with my own children and [01:30:27] having a third one coming [01:30:29] my husband stays home with them when i'm [01:30:30] at work so i can't imagine him staying [01:30:32] home with three and i can't imagine [01:30:34] leaving three for you know what 13 hour [01:30:36] shift so i've decided to leave bedside [01:30:38] nursing when this third baby gets here [01:30:40] and i'm having a really hard time [01:30:42] um [01:30:43] letting that go my career because i love [01:30:45] it so much so i think if anybody had [01:30:46] some advice on how i can um kind of [01:30:49] accept that i so [01:30:52] i am right there with you because i had [01:30:55] my my youngest one is 20 months old and [01:30:57] i think i see him with his dad over in [01:31:00] the back of the room over there [01:31:03] but [01:31:04] i i had to i had to [01:31:06] [Music] [01:31:08] leave the workforce for longer than i [01:31:09] anticipated and i had to he had some [01:31:12] health issues when he was born and [01:31:15] you know what it's it's a season and [01:31:17] it's okay to feel that [01:31:20] uh to feel that feeling of like man i i [01:31:23] feel like i miss this part of me [01:31:26] but you power through and i promise you [01:31:30] you will not regret it i promise you [01:31:34] allow yourself to have those feelings [01:31:36] but remember that you are doing the most [01:31:38] important and fulfilling thing that you [01:31:40] will ever do in your entire life yeah [01:31:43] and accept that perfect balance isn't [01:31:45] always going to be possible right [01:31:49] you got this girl [01:31:52] [Applause] [01:31:54] hi my name is also riley hi also riley i [01:31:58] am married to my high school sweetheart [01:32:01] and congrats when we went to college i [01:32:04] was really adamant about getting a [01:32:06] career in something that was going to [01:32:08] make a lot of money and since graduating [01:32:10] i worked really hard and i've worked my [01:32:12] way up [01:32:13] and i make a lot of money more than my [01:32:15] husband weren't financially dependent on [01:32:17] myself but now we have two small [01:32:19] children a two-year-old and one-year-old [01:32:21] who i love so much [01:32:23] and i have the opportunity to work [01:32:24] remotely but all i want to do is be home [01:32:29] with them and see them because i can [01:32:30] hear them playing downstairs together [01:32:34] because my husband works 24 hour shifts [01:32:36] so he's with them most of the time which [01:32:38] is still amazing [01:32:39] but [01:32:41] we're trying to figure out how to switch [01:32:43] the roles that we've now forced [01:32:46] ourselves into i don't know if you have [01:32:48] any advice for [01:32:49] how to allow me to like [01:32:51] step back and not be [01:32:54] the breadwinner of the family and allow [01:32:56] him to take that control with our family [01:33:00] deb [01:33:03] so you're working remotely from home but [01:33:05] you don't feel like you're able to spend [01:33:07] enough time with your family with your [01:33:09] two children yeah i do get to work [01:33:11] remote so it's amazing because i get to [01:33:13] see them during like my lunch break but [01:33:15] now i'm in a role that requires me to [01:33:17] work around 50 to 60 hours a week [01:33:21] ooh and your children are ages one and [01:33:24] two [01:33:25] yeah [01:33:26] um [01:33:28] that is entirely up to you [01:33:31] whether you go back to you know full [01:33:33] time [01:33:34] working outside the home [01:33:36] um [01:33:37] if your husband is able to come home [01:33:40] and you go back to work is that an [01:33:42] option [01:33:43] well we both work and he's about to [01:33:45] switch to a job in the ministry which is [01:33:48] amazing opportunity for him but also [01:33:50] again a lower salary so it's just like [01:33:53] forcing me into this role of being [01:33:55] financially dependent and do you do you [01:33:57] feel like you need those two income [01:33:59] streams to [01:34:00] yeah where would you keep your head [01:34:02] above water [01:34:03] yeah yes [01:34:05] well then you're going to have to be [01:34:07] looking into some you know [01:34:10] where to [01:34:12] who's going to take care of your [01:34:13] children when you're at work so [01:34:15] hopefully you know maybe family or [01:34:19] a daycare facility that you trust or you [01:34:21] know shares your values [01:34:24] and again like i was saying earlier um [01:34:26] you really want to vet it very closely [01:34:28] because um [01:34:30] this woke ideology has infiltrated every [01:34:33] place [01:34:34] we go through seasons uh as moms and and [01:34:37] as wives there are a lot of seasons and [01:34:40] this particular season you may be in a [01:34:42] position where that's that is your uh [01:34:46] your job to bear for the time being [01:34:48] right but i think as you're doing it i [01:34:50] think you still can be looking for [01:34:52] something else uh that makes it so that [01:34:55] you can [01:34:56] fulfill your you know your need and your [01:34:58] desire to be able to stay at home with [01:35:00] your children and i think that you can [01:35:02] you can [01:35:03] as you're as you're financially bringing [01:35:05] uh you know what you bring to the table [01:35:07] be looking for those other opportunities [01:35:10] so that when you find it you can make [01:35:11] that switch [01:35:15] it's hard in this economy it's really [01:35:17] hard for a lot of parents [01:35:19] hi good morning my name is lindsey and i [01:35:21] really just want to echo what sarah's [01:35:23] saying i am a stay-at-home mom i have a [01:35:25] four and a half year old and a [01:35:27] one-year-old and i was able to have a [01:35:30] 12-year career in corporate america and [01:35:32] sometimes that balance just adding to [01:35:34] the conversation sometimes that balance [01:35:37] isn't trying to do it all all the time [01:35:39] but as sarah said it's a season we have [01:35:42] a season for our career we have a short [01:35:44] season with our babies at home and i [01:35:46] think any speaker that's here this [01:35:48] weekend would want any young women in [01:35:50] this room to know that you can have your [01:35:52] career and your dreams and your babies [01:35:55] too you don't have to pick yes and so i [01:35:58] just wanted to share that with you thank [01:36:00] you thank you thank you and i know i [01:36:02] know we got to go in a second but i do i [01:36:04] do want to give an example of that i [01:36:05] wanted to be here with you guys so badly [01:36:07] last night uh yesterday after i was [01:36:09] finished with work and i had a 10 year [01:36:12] old son who really really needed me [01:36:14] emotionally [01:36:15] and i [01:36:16] was home because that was where i needed [01:36:18] to be and so you just have to make those [01:36:20] decisions and when you put your family [01:36:22] first uh what you'll get back [01:36:24] emotionally will be so rewarding you're [01:36:26] not going to be too worried about the [01:36:27] other parts of it [01:36:29] how many how many are we good on time [01:36:31] how many minutes do you see right there [01:36:32] i mean we have zero we have zero seconds [01:36:35] left yeah this is the last one okay okay [01:36:37] hi my name is bella i'm from alaska so a [01:36:40] little quick background wow hi um [01:36:43] so i was adopted from the republic of [01:36:45] georgia and my mom was in residency when [01:36:48] she adopted me so i got you know raised [01:36:51] by everyone else but her and it put a [01:36:52] dent in our relationship and it's [01:36:54] something that i've thought about like [01:36:56] how do i prevent that happening in my [01:36:59] relationship and i'm 19 i don't have a [01:37:01] kid but just something i've thought [01:37:02] about [01:37:04] so so you were you said you were adopted [01:37:06] yeah i was okay [01:37:08] so i mean i think it's all in uh you're [01:37:12] 19 you're just starting out you have all [01:37:14] of this in front of you you just make [01:37:17] your decisions wisely as you're choosing [01:37:20] uh your partner as you're choosing where [01:37:23] you settle down as you're choosing all [01:37:25] of these things i think you have this [01:37:27] life experience you have this [01:37:28] perspective use it [01:37:31] as you're going through life as you're [01:37:32] making these decisions and i think that [01:37:34] that's absolutely completely preventable [01:37:38] because you have the insight that you [01:37:39] have do you know what i mean like like [01:37:41] it's going to be you [01:37:43] that changes things because you already [01:37:45] know these things i don't think you need [01:37:46] to be worried about that at all [01:37:48] i think you can trust your instincts on [01:37:49] that one for sure [01:37:53] all right is my baby still here [01:37:56] did he leave oh he's over here can i [01:37:58] have him i want to walk backstage with [01:38:00] him i miss him [01:38:01] we're out of time i'm really sorry you [01:38:03] guys i i just want to leave you with [01:38:05] this um [01:38:08] go [01:38:09] find your mates [01:38:10] get married have lots of babies enjoy [01:38:13] your careers you can do all of these [01:38:16] things as long as you remember your [01:38:18] priorities your god [01:38:20] right [01:38:21] your families [01:38:23] your faith your freedom all of these [01:38:25] things remember those things please [01:38:27] please please and go get married and [01:38:30] have lots of babies the american [01:38:31] contributor we need you we need you [01:38:34] all right [01:38:35] the american dream is not dead [01:38:38] yes [01:38:41] [Music] [01:38:58] uh [01:39:01] [Music] [01:39:14] [Music] [01:39:24] we are not going to allow the socialism [01:39:28] ideology [01:39:30] to take over [01:39:32] america [01:39:33] we have to stop it in its track [01:39:37] i have two words for you socialism [01:39:51] [Music] [01:39:55] okay the ladies are in the house right [01:40:00] wait wait do we have any guys here [01:40:04] oh [01:40:05] good you men are so smart to show up [01:40:08] because you're going to learn a lot okay [01:40:10] this weekend but i'm really truly truly [01:40:13] inspired to be here with all of you and [01:40:16] i first want to thank charlie kirk for [01:40:18] this incredible opportunity to be with [01:40:20] you today i mean he is a rock star and [01:40:23] we always love having him at cpac [01:40:26] because he gets the the group all riled [01:40:28] up but i have to say i think his wife [01:40:31] erica is a lot cooler than charlie what [01:40:34] do you think [01:40:37] she's the one in charge guys [01:40:40] so [01:40:41] happy womanhood month [01:40:44] wait wait i think i got the wrong month [01:40:47] i'm not sure what that month is but you [01:40:49] know it's so confusing because they keep [01:40:52] labeling us [01:40:53] with all these different identities [01:40:57] and you know what i just want to be me [01:40:59] and you just want to be who you are how [01:41:02] god created you [01:41:04] so let's rip off the labels together [01:41:08] and let's go back to the basics [01:41:12] so guess what when you were born [01:41:14] were you a boy or a girl [01:41:17] a girl [01:41:18] well according to the left [01:41:20] you can be one or the other or both or [01:41:24] any of the 50 genders that are out there [01:41:27] that's right [01:41:28] you can make that gender decision as [01:41:31] early as the age of five [01:41:34] i mean just think about it guys [01:41:35] [Music] [01:41:37] we have one actor that recently just [01:41:39] identified as a tree so now you have [01:41:41] even more options [01:41:43] seriously you cannot make this up [01:41:46] and what's so disturbing [01:41:48] is that when i was growing up we didn't [01:41:50] have to deal with all of this [01:41:52] you know you all are facing [01:41:54] these realities [01:41:56] that are really tough [01:41:58] and so this is a very critical moment [01:42:00] for you [01:42:01] and the reality is is that america girls [01:42:05] and women [01:42:06] are under attack by the left [01:42:10] the biden administration the leftist [01:42:12] media and the democrats they have [01:42:14] declared a war on women [01:42:17] they have declared a war on you on your [01:42:19] sisters on your mothers on your aunts [01:42:22] i mean michelle obama she even changed [01:42:24] the spelling of the word women she added [01:42:26] an x to it does anybody know how to [01:42:27] pronounce it because i still don't even [01:42:29] know how to pronounce it [01:42:31] but seriously thank god for spell [01:42:33] correct on your computer because it [01:42:35] still thinks that the word is misspelled [01:42:38] so at least we've got some hope before [01:42:40] you know microsoft decides to change it [01:42:42] what's even worse is when you have your [01:42:44] supreme court justice contanji brown [01:42:47] jackson who refused to define what a [01:42:49] woman is [01:42:50] by saying that she's not a biologist [01:42:54] i mean what are they teaching at harvard [01:42:55] university these days [01:42:57] while the left claims to be for science [01:43:00] they will not define a woman and instead [01:43:02] just casually change the meaning of the [01:43:04] word woman [01:43:06] boo is right [01:43:08] while the left preaches empowerment and [01:43:11] equality the white house praises a man [01:43:13] in women's sports [01:43:15] how hard did we have to work to prove [01:43:18] ourselves in school and in sports [01:43:20] for the left to say that a biological [01:43:23] male can compete in our girls sports [01:43:27] enough is enough it is demoralizing it [01:43:31] is unfair and we must protect women's [01:43:33] sports right now [01:43:38] but let me tell you what the truth is [01:43:40] the truth is the left is scared of [01:43:41] womanhood of the power we hold when we [01:43:44] come together and impact the change and [01:43:46] take back america the ruling party [01:43:48] thought that they owned us that we were [01:43:50] victims but we know better [01:43:53] because our role as women in the america [01:43:56] story is indisputable [01:43:58] in every generation since the founding [01:44:00] of this great nation brave women like us [01:44:02] have been empowered emboldened and [01:44:05] define the trajectory of our [01:44:07] achievements [01:44:09] while [01:44:10] we may not have always gotten the credit [01:44:12] we deserve [01:44:14] history has vindicated us time and time [01:44:16] again [01:44:17] let's look at abigail adams the second [01:44:21] does the wife of the president of [01:44:23] president john adams a woman of first so [01:44:26] she would write these letters to john [01:44:27] adams [01:44:28] and she literally was his chief advisor [01:44:31] during the time where our country was [01:44:34] being founded where they were having [01:44:35] these debates about our constitution [01:44:39] she was not only a wife a senior advisor [01:44:42] but also a founding mother [01:44:44] and back i know i want to be a founding [01:44:46] mother too because let me tell you [01:44:48] something [01:44:49] we got to make sure we protect this [01:44:51] foundation of our country [01:44:53] and it was this republican motherhood [01:44:55] and i want you guys to look this up in [01:44:56] history this republican motherhood where [01:44:59] women [01:45:00] would teach their children about the [01:45:02] foundings of america they would talk [01:45:05] about why american patriots would [01:45:07] sacrifice their lives for independence [01:45:10] and freedom and for this great new [01:45:12] nation [01:45:14] then we have victoria woodhill does [01:45:15] anybody know what victoria woodhill is [01:45:18] we're going to learn now she's another [01:45:20] woman of first the first woman to run a [01:45:22] weekly newspaper in the united states [01:45:24] the first woman to run a stock brokerage [01:45:26] on wall street and sorry hillary the [01:45:29] first woman to run for president of the [01:45:31] united states [01:45:32] [Music] [01:45:34] way back in 1872 when we did not even [01:45:38] have the right to vote [01:45:40] but what does it take it takes courage [01:45:42] it takes courage in these very critical [01:45:45] times [01:45:47] even then we have always found ways to [01:45:49] make our voices heard we republican and [01:45:52] conservative women are only getting [01:45:54] louder and stronger and that's what the [01:45:56] left fears a strong woman like each and [01:46:00] every one of you in this room [01:46:03] including the strong men that are in [01:46:04] here as well [01:46:06] now i was hearing the panel that was on [01:46:08] beforehand about balancing work and [01:46:10] family and i'm a mother of five [01:46:13] daughters [01:46:16] and let me tell you something let me [01:46:18] give you a hint here in life [01:46:20] god has a purpose for you [01:46:23] okay you might get married and you might [01:46:26] not get married and it's okay [01:46:28] don't feel the pressure [01:46:30] god will direct your path [01:46:33] but you need to ask him for that wisdom [01:46:36] and that clarity of where you need to go [01:46:39] in your life [01:46:41] i always thought i grew up in a [01:46:43] generation where the women [01:46:46] they were really supposed to just focus [01:46:48] on the career and don't get married so i [01:46:49] was on that path and i was totally fine [01:46:51] with that path in fact i was like i [01:46:53] don't need to get married i'm fine with [01:46:54] that guy it's totally okay well god had [01:46:56] other plans for me [01:46:58] and so i met my husband matt in the [01:46:59] white house [01:47:01] during our time together he was in the [01:47:04] political shop i was in the media fair [01:47:06] shop [01:47:07] and it was that [01:47:09] awful day of 9 11 where we were both in [01:47:12] the white house we had been dating for [01:47:13] only a month [01:47:15] and we [01:47:16] both had to quickly leave the white [01:47:18] house because they thought that third [01:47:19] plane was coming to the white house [01:47:22] when we left the white house his sister [01:47:24] calls him and says do you know where [01:47:25] mercy's at he says i don't i can't find [01:47:27] her he says find her and tell her that [01:47:29] you love her [01:47:31] and after that we got engaged [01:47:34] pretty much [01:47:35] two months after [01:47:36] 9 11. [01:47:38] because [01:47:40] and we got married seven months after [01:47:42] the engagement [01:47:44] and for those catholics we got engaged [01:47:46] on december 12th which is the feast day [01:47:48] of our lady of guadalupe [01:47:50] [Applause] [01:47:51] and i will tell you that what we learned [01:47:54] in that moment that we knew that we both [01:47:56] could have perished that [01:47:58] we know that there was so much happening [01:48:00] in our country is that life was too [01:48:02] short and if you love somebody and you [01:48:06] want to be with them for the rest of [01:48:06] your life be with them for the rest of [01:48:08] your life don't waste time [01:48:10] don't be a time waster [01:48:12] time is too precious life moves fast and [01:48:16] then when we made the decision of [01:48:18] how many kids we kind of left it open to [01:48:20] god and we've had five beautiful [01:48:23] daughters [01:48:24] and i will tell you they are very [01:48:25] opinionated and they are very different [01:48:27] and [01:48:28] and two of my daughters have come to [01:48:30] this event and they love it and they [01:48:33] love charlie kirk too [01:48:35] so [01:48:36] many times i will tell you i was this is [01:48:38] what they do with the guys they never [01:48:40] ask the guys oh how many kids do you [01:48:41] have or how's your family or how do you [01:48:44] manage [01:48:45] work and family together you know i got [01:48:48] this line where they're like well we [01:48:50] can't give you the job because you have [01:48:51] too many kids [01:48:53] i've heard that [01:48:54] but i kept proving them wrong [01:48:58] i kept showing that i could work really [01:49:00] hard [01:49:01] and give really good advice and the same [01:49:04] way i can manage my five chaotic [01:49:05] children at home is the same way i can [01:49:08] handle a chaotic white house [01:49:13] [Music] [01:49:16] i got to work in two white houses [01:49:19] and i will tell you my favorite was [01:49:20] definitely working for president trump [01:49:23] and serving the american people during [01:49:24] that time [01:49:28] so [01:49:30] i chose a career in public service and [01:49:32] as i mentioned in working in the white [01:49:34] house and working in several [01:49:35] presidential campaigns [01:49:37] i will say with president trump he [01:49:39] valued women on his team [01:49:42] we would sit in the oval office and in [01:49:45] the roosevelt room at the time i was [01:49:46] with kellyanne conway ivanka trump [01:49:49] brooke rollins sarah huckabee sanders [01:49:51] who's going to be the next governor of [01:49:52] arkansas [01:49:54] and i think we all calculated between [01:49:57] all of us we had 19 kids okay [01:50:00] yes it was long hours yes it was a lot [01:50:02] of sacrifice but my children knew that [01:50:04] mom was working hard to protect their [01:50:07] freedoms and give opportunities to all [01:50:10] americans so that they could have better [01:50:12] lives [01:50:16] and this came from an inspiration from [01:50:18] my father who is cuban came fled cuba [01:50:22] left my lana's out there [01:50:25] so um i did end up marrying a gringo [01:50:28] which is a very sensitive subject for my [01:50:29] family [01:50:30] but uh and i knew that my father really [01:50:34] talked to us about what it was to live [01:50:36] under a communist regime to lose [01:50:38] everything [01:50:39] and he fought stood up [01:50:41] and ended up [01:50:43] fighting against a communist regime he [01:50:45] was thrown into jail for six years in [01:50:47] cuba for speaking up [01:50:49] but he never gave up [01:50:51] he never gave up he had hope [01:50:54] that he would survive the torture that [01:50:56] he would survive the horrors he was [01:50:59] thrown into solidary confinement for [01:51:00] three months at a time and yet he was so [01:51:03] strong to get out and when he came to [01:51:05] america [01:51:06] and he taught us as a little top us to [01:51:09] basically protect [01:51:11] the freedom know [01:51:13] that america is so special and so grand [01:51:16] and so blessed that we do not have an [01:51:19] option but to protect our constitution [01:51:22] and our freedoms because these freedoms [01:51:23] are very fragile and they can be lost in [01:51:26] an instant [01:51:28] so i i have to tell you i had a [01:51:30] conversation with my girls the other day [01:51:33] and they told me of course you know they [01:51:35] don't want to get involved in politics [01:51:36] their dad who's chairman of cpac and [01:51:38] then myself we talk about politics all [01:51:40] day long and i think for a moment [01:51:43] they're like we need like a political [01:51:44] free zone in the in the house like [01:51:47] that's enough guys [01:51:48] and i said to them [01:51:50] look you guys don't really have a choice [01:51:52] and i'm going to tell this to you as the [01:51:53] same way like if you guys were all my [01:51:55] daughters okay [01:51:57] they said i said we are all impacted by [01:52:00] political leadership and bad policy [01:52:02] decisions if there is a bad political [01:52:04] leader and bad policy decisions it [01:52:06] impacts your life [01:52:08] one week american leader can destroy [01:52:11] decades of prosperity and opportunity [01:52:14] which is why it's so depressing to see [01:52:16] what biden and pelosi and the democrats [01:52:18] have done to ruin american families [01:52:22] their goal is to push extreme policies [01:52:24] on climate change keep the borders open [01:52:26] and shut down our energy sources in the [01:52:29] name of their radical religion [01:52:32] and [01:52:33] that is just not acceptable [01:52:36] this is a time when moms can't find baby [01:52:39] formula or families can't pay for [01:52:41] outrageously high gas prices i saw one [01:52:44] of the ladies here talk about how she's [01:52:46] the bread winner right now and i know [01:52:48] it's hard i know it's hard but we all [01:52:50] have to sacrifice and work really hard [01:52:53] it is a tough time right now but you [01:52:55] will get through it you will get through [01:52:57] it the american people have been [01:52:59] stressed to the max with high gas prices [01:53:02] high food processors the coveted [01:53:03] craziness how many of you want to fire [01:53:05] fouchy [01:53:06] thank you [01:53:08] and let's send nancy pelosi back to uh [01:53:11] san francisco would be great too [01:53:14] uh and what's so sad and i know you guys [01:53:16] probably went through this some of you [01:53:18] guys were in college or in high school [01:53:20] with these coveted lockdowns i'm sure [01:53:21] you have seen so many of your friends [01:53:23] break down [01:53:24] and you've seen this mental health [01:53:26] crisis in america it should have never [01:53:28] happened and that comes with bad [01:53:30] leadership and bad policy decisions and [01:53:33] i will tell you in the name of what [01:53:36] power and socialism and communism a bad [01:53:40] political leader will destroy their own [01:53:42] country where people die and children [01:53:45] lose their future you look at cuba [01:53:47] venezuela iran [01:53:50] russia [01:53:51] one authoritarian leader can destroy [01:53:53] families their futures and ultimately [01:53:55] their country you look at afghanistan [01:53:57] where biden botched that withdrawal the [01:54:00] taliban are back in power [01:54:02] and the women and the girls are [01:54:04] suffering dire consequences the taliban [01:54:06] do not allow women to work or for the [01:54:08] girls to go back to school [01:54:10] and today is the 33rd anniversary of the [01:54:13] slaughter of tiananmen square [01:54:15] where hundreds of chinese people were [01:54:17] killed when they were protesting by the [01:54:19] communist regime and sadly [01:54:22] we've seen hong kong also lose its [01:54:24] freedoms and they can't even commemorate [01:54:27] the loss of these lives because the [01:54:28] communists are in charge there is no [01:54:31] freedom in hong kong anymore in the [01:54:32] communities what the communists are [01:54:34] doing is that they're imprisoning the [01:54:35] young and the old who protest against [01:54:38] the chinese government this is what's so [01:54:40] beautiful about america we can go out [01:54:42] and protest and speak up and it's why [01:54:45] you can't allow any of these leftists to [01:54:47] shut you up ever [01:54:52] when they come and call you names and [01:54:55] call you racist and call you bigots you [01:54:58] push back even harder you do not let [01:55:01] them dictate the terms they do not set [01:55:04] the rules we've got a constitution we [01:55:07] are have we are a free nation and we [01:55:09] have the freedom to speak up and to [01:55:12] worship and to make sure we protect our [01:55:15] second amendment [01:55:19] and i'll tell you [01:55:22] when matt protest went with the hong [01:55:24] kong protesters where he spent time with [01:55:26] them before there was a big crackdown in [01:55:28] china the hong kong protesters looked to [01:55:30] my husband and said [01:55:32] america [01:55:33] that is the beacon of hope and freedom [01:55:35] if we lose america we lose the world [01:55:40] and it's so why you all are so blessed [01:55:44] to live in this great country and now we [01:55:46] all together have a duty to protect it [01:55:49] it only takes one week leader to destroy [01:55:51] a country [01:55:53] and it is why we all need you to be [01:55:54] engaged in this political fight to save [01:55:57] america and it's why it's so important [01:55:59] that you're here [01:56:01] find your place in the american story [01:56:04] what will be your chapter [01:56:06] whether it be a grassroots activist poll [01:56:08] watcher social media influencer or [01:56:11] running for office the opportunities are [01:56:13] endless and exciting [01:56:15] this is a generational moment to find [01:56:18] your purpose [01:56:19] we are no longer the unofficial senior [01:56:21] advisor we are the top of the ticket and [01:56:24] yes [01:56:24] you can have it all you can be a mother [01:56:27] you can raise a beautiful family and you [01:56:29] can have a career [01:56:31] but you've got to ground yourself in [01:56:34] your faith [01:56:36] pray to god for wisdom clarity and [01:56:38] courage and set the world on fire [01:56:43] pray for our broken communities and our [01:56:46] nation i will tell you matt and i every [01:56:48] morning we go to the front porch [01:56:50] we do our morning readings [01:56:53] from scripture and it sets our day [01:56:55] because it makes you realize that you [01:56:57] are not alone in this fight that you are [01:56:59] never alone even when you're feeling [01:57:01] lonely you're not alone [01:57:03] god loves you your community loves you [01:57:06] and it's why you have to have the power [01:57:08] to to make sure you accomplish your [01:57:11] goals [01:57:12] we cannot let the left redefine the [01:57:16] beauty of womanhood [01:57:18] we are not going to let them take that [01:57:20] away from us we are not going to accept [01:57:23] the male pregnant emoji how about that [01:57:27] guys it's science [01:57:29] men you can't have babies that's how it [01:57:31] goes and yes life begins in the womb and [01:57:34] we must protect all the unborn babies [01:57:40] because we understand that the power and [01:57:43] strength of a woman is given to us by [01:57:45] god the left has abandoned us [01:57:48] they can't simply change the definition [01:57:50] of womanhood and then demand we behave a [01:57:52] certain way [01:57:54] we will not fail women and our girls we [01:57:57] will ensure that the world knows that [01:58:00] the american women are strong and ready [01:58:02] to take on any challenge [01:58:08] and that's why the first female [01:58:10] president of the united states will be a [01:58:12] republican [01:58:18] well it's not going to be the borders [01:58:20] are that's for sure [01:58:23] perhaps you're in the room right now [01:58:26] but only [01:58:27] by embracing ourselves empowering [01:58:30] ourselves and not letting anyone define [01:58:33] what we are [01:58:35] can we be empowered [01:58:37] let me make this very clear and if [01:58:39] there's one thing i want you to remember [01:58:41] when you leave here today [01:58:43] by saving womenhood motherhood we save [01:58:47] america [01:58:49] [Applause] [01:58:51] we [01:58:52] are the last line of defense we have to [01:58:55] be unafraid and take on the grave [01:58:58] challenges that our nation is facing [01:59:00] right now [01:59:01] and ladies you're not going to do this [01:59:02] alone we're right by your side [01:59:08] it is your time to be bold unwavering [01:59:12] and strong and for the love of our great [01:59:14] nation and our american flag [01:59:18] and our family and our faith in our [01:59:20] community [01:59:21] answer your call and fulfill your [01:59:25] god-given purpose to achieve greatness [01:59:28] and build strong communities god bless [01:59:31] you all and thank you for letting me be [01:59:33] here with you today [01:59:51] support [02:00:18] [Music] [02:00:23] [Music] [02:00:31] ladies please welcome congresswoman best [02:00:34] van dyne [02:00:39] [Music] [02:00:48] welcome to texas [02:00:51] hey [02:00:53] how many people do we have who are [02:00:54] actually from texas [02:00:56] yes i love that i love that [02:01:00] yesterday i had the honor of speaking at [02:01:03] a missy shorey luncheon [02:01:05] and there were [02:01:07] there were a number of um women who had [02:01:09] gotten her scholarship and let me tell [02:01:12] you that was such an amazing opportunity [02:01:14] for me to actually be able to see these [02:01:17] women who were so engaged and so [02:01:20] involved missy shorey was an amazing [02:01:23] woman [02:01:24] she was the head of maggie's list she [02:01:27] was the first woman to be elected to be [02:01:30] chairwoman of the dallas county [02:01:33] republican club [02:01:35] she was a fighter [02:01:37] she believed in all of our conservative [02:01:40] principles she was a leader [02:01:43] the most amazing thing was i don't care [02:01:45] what group she was ever in whenever you [02:01:47] saw her she had a huge smile on her face [02:01:50] she was a positive optimistic [02:01:53] ball of energy [02:01:55] that's the kind of republicans that we [02:01:57] should all try to be [02:02:00] when missy was 48 [02:02:03] she went to sleep one night and she [02:02:05] never woke up [02:02:08] it is never too early to get involved to [02:02:12] get into politics to run for office to [02:02:15] get prepared to get educated [02:02:18] but it could be too late [02:02:20] i look at what's going around our [02:02:22] country right now [02:02:24] all of the threats that we have seen [02:02:26] especially over the last year and a half [02:02:30] it breaks my heart [02:02:32] but it also [02:02:33] it also identifies an opportunity that [02:02:36] we all have a place in what our future [02:02:38] is going to look like and what are we [02:02:40] going to do with it [02:02:41] are we going to fight for it [02:02:43] are we going to refuse to be shut down [02:02:47] by colleagues by classmates by by [02:02:50] professors by the media [02:02:52] by social media trolls [02:02:55] are we going to fight back [02:02:57] are we going to stand strong [02:02:59] are we going to believe and fight for [02:03:01] our principles for our countries for our [02:03:03] individual freedoms [02:03:05] yeah we are [02:03:07] and i'll tell you that that group that i [02:03:09] met with yesterday i have never been so [02:03:12] more optimistic of our future because [02:03:15] we've got fighters [02:03:16] and it's going to take a lot [02:03:18] look i am my freshman congresswoman [02:03:22] in the minority [02:03:23] the last year and a half has been tough [02:03:25] i have a front row seat [02:03:27] at all of these terrible terrible bills [02:03:31] terrible decisions [02:03:33] that are coming off the floor of the [02:03:34] house i have a front row seat [02:03:36] i get down on the floor and i i give my [02:03:40] best i speak you know truth to power i [02:03:43] write op-ed pieces i'm on social media [02:03:45] i'm in interviews [02:03:47] i am submitting bills i am asking [02:03:49] questions at hearings of witnesses to [02:03:52] try to bring forward that information [02:03:54] but if you read my social media you [02:03:56] would think i was one of the most hated [02:03:58] people in the universe [02:04:00] the fact is i have run for election [02:04:02] seven times and i've never lost an [02:04:04] election [02:04:06] i have been out spent time and time [02:04:09] again [02:04:10] but you fight even if you think you are [02:04:12] the only person who believes in what [02:04:15] you're doing because you know it's right [02:04:17] and you know what's right because it's [02:04:19] ground in your faith [02:04:20] it's ground in your principles and [02:04:22] you've done the research to be prepared [02:04:25] to be able to defend it [02:04:27] when i was 17 [02:04:30] i thought i knew more than anybody [02:04:32] moved out of my house [02:04:34] had two full-time jobs i did that until [02:04:36] i decided to go back to college i fought [02:04:39] i wasn't going to tell let anybody tell [02:04:40] me i couldn't do that [02:04:42] i got accepted to cornell university and [02:04:44] i went [02:04:45] i paid for it on my own and i signed all [02:04:48] those loan documents knowing what i was [02:04:50] getting into took me 10 years to pay him [02:04:52] off it was worth every cent [02:04:55] i went to a very liberal school [02:04:58] very liberal school [02:04:59] and i remember getting into discussions [02:05:02] debates with my professors [02:05:04] i remember classmates that i respected [02:05:06] that i was into base with [02:05:09] but what i found is if you make it [02:05:11] personal you lose [02:05:13] if you understand the materials and you [02:05:16] understand why [02:05:18] you have those beliefs and you're able [02:05:20] to defend them [02:05:22] it's the best thing you can do [02:05:24] not making it personal not being [02:05:26] negative and not being hateful [02:05:28] there were a couple of minds that i was [02:05:30] able to change [02:05:31] there was a couple of professors who saw [02:05:34] me in class day in and day out [02:05:37] saw me come to their their office hours [02:05:40] they knew i was really [02:05:42] wanting to know more i may not agree [02:05:45] with their opinion and there was times [02:05:47] that it cost me [02:05:48] a grade or two [02:05:49] it happens [02:05:51] it happens [02:05:52] but i still kept fighting when i got on [02:05:54] city council i was the only woman on [02:05:56] city council i was looked down on [02:05:58] absolutely happened i got out spent [02:06:00] eight to one my first election [02:06:03] but why did i run [02:06:05] because i saw that we needed to have [02:06:06] more voices [02:06:08] we can call it diversity i would just [02:06:10] say stronger opinions people who have a [02:06:13] backbone are willing to fight [02:06:17] i knew nobody i knew nobody on the city [02:06:19] council i was not i was not about to [02:06:21] have a ton of money i didn't have any [02:06:22] backing but i knew five people who sort [02:06:24] of had a relationship with what was [02:06:26] going on in the city i talked to those [02:06:28] five people i got their support i asked [02:06:30] for them to introduce me to five people [02:06:32] i talked to those five people met with [02:06:34] those five people asked them to talk it [02:06:36] was a [02:06:37] gorilla ground roots campaign i got out [02:06:41] spent eight to one and i still won when [02:06:44] i became mayor i got out spent eight to [02:06:46] one ran against a very well-known uh [02:06:49] very strong um very opinionated and [02:06:52] nasty politician [02:06:53] he outspent me again eight to one and i [02:06:55] won because i worked [02:07:00] this last cycle this seat that i won [02:07:04] this [02:07:05] democrats spent nearly 17 million [02:07:07] dollars [02:07:08] on trying to beat me [02:07:11] you thought you were up against [02:07:13] everything [02:07:14] and you know you're hearing all these [02:07:15] things in the media you're seeing all [02:07:16] these things in the paper you're seeing [02:07:18] all these things on social media [02:07:20] hold strong [02:07:21] you can win [02:07:23] because just because you think that the [02:07:25] rest of the world because you're looking [02:07:26] at this tiny little microcosm of social [02:07:29] media that's not who the rest of the [02:07:31] world is it's definitely not who the [02:07:33] rest of texas is [02:07:34] it's not the rest of who the country is [02:07:37] we have strong strong individuals who [02:07:39] love our faith love our freedom and love [02:07:42] our country [02:07:44] this very small [02:07:46] small [02:07:47] vocal minority does not represent all of [02:07:50] us [02:07:50] does not even represent a majority of us [02:07:53] you will be tested a lot of you from [02:07:56] what i understood yesterday are being [02:07:58] tested right now [02:08:00] hold strong [02:08:02] when i was mayor of the city of irving [02:08:03] we had an incident that got [02:08:05] international press [02:08:07] we had a teenage boy that brought what [02:08:09] looked like a bomb to school [02:08:11] it was called clock boy he brought what [02:08:14] looked like a bomb to school [02:08:16] and we had a number of our teachers who [02:08:18] were very upset they called our our [02:08:21] student resource office who responded [02:08:23] the way that they would have responded [02:08:24] to everybody [02:08:26] i backed our police officers because [02:08:29] what they did in that instance was [02:08:30] correct [02:08:31] it was absolutely correct and you need [02:08:33] to stand strong and back law enforcement [02:08:38] what i found the next morning was a [02:08:41] world of hate i thought i was completely [02:08:43] on my own [02:08:44] but i did what i thought was right [02:08:46] because that as an elected official as [02:08:48] an american as a patriot is what you do [02:08:52] you stand behind your convictions you [02:08:54] know why you're doing that and i had no [02:08:56] problem at all going out to the media [02:08:57] going out to my council going out to my [02:08:59] constituents and saying exactly what i [02:09:02] felt and why and while new york times [02:09:05] might not have approved while la may not [02:09:08] have approved the fact is is that in [02:09:10] irving texas they absolutely did and [02:09:12] they supported our decision [02:09:15] law enforcement definitely did [02:09:18] and as a result we had one of the fifth [02:09:21] we had the fifth safest city in the [02:09:22] country doesn't happen by accident [02:09:26] now i'll tell you we have a lot of [02:09:27] challenges in our future and as a [02:09:30] congressmember who is a representative [02:09:32] who is a reflection of my community my [02:09:34] job is to get out and listen [02:09:37] get out and hear what their priorities [02:09:39] are what they want me to be fighting for [02:09:41] the microphone that they want to have in [02:09:43] dc that's exactly what i'm doing [02:09:47] you see what's happening in the paper [02:09:48] right now [02:09:50] you see the disasters the crisis after [02:09:52] crisis [02:09:54] at the border [02:09:55] and tell me in texas we feel it every [02:09:57] day [02:09:58] but at this point in time every single [02:10:00] you know state is a border state because [02:10:02] we've got millions of folks coming in [02:10:04] we've got thousands of pounds of [02:10:05] fentanyl coming in and coming into our [02:10:07] streets in our communities [02:10:08] you look at what's happening with our [02:10:10] supply chain you look at what's [02:10:11] happening with inflation everybody is [02:10:13] paying more for gas [02:10:15] everybody is questioning what now our [02:10:17] foreign policy but all of you in this [02:10:19] room have an opportunity to be part of [02:10:21] that future get involved get engaged [02:10:24] work for a campaign [02:10:26] work for an office we hire interns both [02:10:29] in our district office in our dc office [02:10:32] if you are up there come look me up we [02:10:34] would love to show you around and see [02:10:36] what your interests are [02:10:37] you have opportunities now and if you [02:10:40] don't want to like work for a campaign [02:10:42] run yourself [02:10:44] put yourself out there [02:10:46] the world is ready for women leaders it [02:10:48] has been for decades [02:10:54] i came in with a magnificent group of of [02:10:56] freshman women we have more women now in [02:10:58] congress than we ever have in the past [02:11:01] but it's amazing not one of us ran [02:11:04] on identity politics not one of us ran [02:11:06] saying vote for me because i'm a [02:11:08] woman don't do it [02:11:11] don't fall back on that [02:11:13] run because you're dedicated because [02:11:15] you're prepared to do the right thing [02:11:17] because you have a voice and are willing [02:11:19] to use it you have a backbone [02:11:22] you are willing to listen and you are [02:11:24] willing to lead [02:11:26] run because you are the most most [02:11:28] dedicated person and you are the best [02:11:30] candidate [02:11:31] i i'm telling you [02:11:34] that's the only thing money [02:11:36] influence [02:11:37] um signatures on a list are nothing [02:11:39] compared to what you have to offer as [02:11:41] far as your principles morals and [02:11:43] visions to your constituents [02:11:46] i love what i do it is an honor it is a [02:11:49] privilege at times it is a beat down but [02:11:52] it is a great job [02:11:54] when i first got elected we were going [02:11:56] in [02:11:57] to the um [02:11:59] hall in uh in the capital it was during [02:12:01] coviz they weren't letting us have a [02:12:03] whole lot of dinner [02:12:05] nancy pelosi [02:17:09] operation when you leave here what's [02:17:12] next how do you turn that inspiration [02:17:15] into [02:17:16] action and so i just want to give you a [02:17:18] few next steps as we all get ready to [02:17:20] head home and spread out back to our [02:17:22] home states [02:17:23] the first one is to know your true [02:17:27] identity [02:17:28] ladies we do not need one more activist [02:17:30] for the sake of activism or politicians [02:17:33] for the sake of politics if we really [02:17:36] want to engage this broken world [02:17:39] what we need is women like you and men [02:17:42] for that matter who will ask themselves [02:17:44] this question [02:17:46] what does the lord require of me [02:17:49] romans 12 2 tells us do not be [02:17:53] conformed to this world but be [02:17:54] transformed by the renewal of your mind [02:17:56] so that testing you can determine the [02:17:58] will of god what is good and acceptable [02:18:00] and perfect [02:18:02] at young women for america we take [02:18:04] everything to the bible first [02:18:07] because these are not just political [02:18:10] issues and ladies you are sitting in [02:18:12] this room in this seat next to the [02:18:14] person to your right for a reason god [02:18:16] has placed you in this moment in history [02:18:19] and he wants to use you to be a vessel [02:18:22] of his good work what an honor and what [02:18:26] a responsibility [02:18:27] young women for america wants to help [02:18:29] you steward that responsibility well [02:18:31] because these aren't just political [02:18:33] issues genesis 1 tells us god created [02:18:35] the male and female he created them in [02:18:38] his image and he blessed them when we [02:18:41] say a man is a man and a woman is a [02:18:43] woman this isn't political friends this [02:18:45] is a genesis one issue [02:18:48] when young women for america shows up at [02:18:50] the supreme court this coming monday [02:18:52] morning just in case the dobbs decision [02:18:54] comes down [02:18:56] we are there because psalm 139 tells us [02:18:58] that we were knit together in our [02:19:00] mother's womb [02:19:02] our purpose is found in our faith and [02:19:05] our faith propels us i want you guys to [02:19:07] think for a moment about this time in [02:19:10] history that the lord has chosen to [02:19:12] raise you up it's june do you know what [02:19:14] that means [02:19:16] roe is about to be overturned [02:19:24] and god created you for this moment he [02:19:27] put you here it's your turn to take up [02:19:30] the torch this is your fight [02:19:32] but secondly [02:19:33] make sure you're connected to the right [02:19:35] people the number one thing i hear from [02:19:37] ywa ywa leaders is how grateful they are [02:19:40] for the friendships and community they [02:19:42] found in ywa listen i don't have to tell [02:19:46] you that there's a war being waged for [02:19:47] the hearts and minds of young people [02:19:49] because we see it and experience it [02:19:51] every day [02:19:52] i do want to remind you that we are not [02:19:54] fighting against flesh and blood this [02:19:56] isn't just bad faith actors and poor [02:19:58] policy [02:19:59] we are fighting against spiritual forces [02:20:02] of evil in the heavenly places [02:20:05] you need your battle buddies and we have [02:20:08] that strong community at ywa our faith [02:20:11] is not a jacket that we take on and off [02:20:14] it's who we are it's the reason that we [02:20:16] engage in these cultural and political [02:20:18] issues in the first place so we'd love [02:20:20] to connect with you [02:20:21] but finally friends take action young [02:20:24] women for america host a leadership [02:20:27] training every year to give you the [02:20:28] tools you need to be an articulate [02:20:30] educated activist because the worst kind [02:20:33] of activist is an uninformed activist [02:20:38] we also provide training materials for [02:20:40] all seven of our core issues that dive [02:20:42] into the biblical foundations historical [02:20:44] context scientific research and policies [02:20:48] to make sure you're equipped to engage [02:20:50] and then we give you opportunities to go [02:20:53] out and do the good work [02:20:55] our young women for america leaders have [02:20:57] lobbied at the capitol they have stood [02:20:59] on the steps of the supreme court and [02:21:01] shared their stories signed letters to [02:21:03] governors been rally speakers across [02:21:05] this country and on december 1st we [02:21:07] brought [02:21:08] 1100 students to the steps of the [02:21:10] supreme court for the dobsby jackson [02:21:13] oral arguments [02:21:16] this year our leaders have testified in [02:21:18] state committee hearings across the [02:21:19] country on behalf of save women sports [02:21:22] bills and we were the only voice for [02:21:24] young women outside the georgia tech [02:21:26] aquatic center well leah thomas [02:21:28] stole championship titles from women [02:21:31] inside [02:21:32] young women for america provides a voice [02:21:36] for women on all public policy issues [02:21:38] and we actually have a 43-year history [02:21:41] of equipping and training grassroots [02:21:43] activists to pray educate and act we get [02:21:47] the work done and we would absolutely [02:21:48] love to have you join us we're so glad [02:21:50] to be here and join you this weekend god [02:21:52] bless you all and i hope you have a safe [02:21:54] travels home [02:22:10] hello turning point young women's [02:22:12] leadership summit i am so inspired by [02:22:15] this marvelous gathering of wonderful [02:22:17] tenacious women i can't help but feel a [02:22:20] sense of encouragement and hope [02:22:22] our movement began only a few short [02:22:25] years ago and continues to surge as we [02:22:28] have seen how devastating radically left [02:22:30] ideas are when they control our country [02:22:34] together you are among powerful women [02:22:36] who show up [02:22:38] fellow americans who care for this [02:22:39] country deeply you have chosen to show [02:22:42] up because you see the future this [02:22:44] administration is creating for women and [02:22:48] no [02:22:49] it is a dark and dystopian one [02:22:52] you are not alone in your thinking [02:22:54] over the past year our team has been [02:22:57] traveling the country and listening to [02:22:59] the needs of our parents our nation's [02:23:01] children [02:23:02] our truckers our teachers [02:23:05] our pastors our mothers our blue collar [02:23:09] workers [02:23:10] and one message resonates from every [02:23:13] conversation we've had [02:23:15] this administration is destroying our [02:23:17] country [02:23:19] joe biden and his acolytes have [02:23:21] abandoned our families [02:23:23] broken our supply chain [02:23:25] turned off the valve of domestic oil to [02:23:28] favor foreign interests while americans [02:23:31] pay a premium at the gas pump [02:23:34] they've turned our classrooms from [02:23:36] places of education [02:23:38] to indoctrination [02:23:40] they've targeted our churches and people [02:23:42] of faith [02:23:43] they've continued their assault on our [02:23:46] freedom of speech [02:23:48] they have destroyed the norms of our [02:23:50] supreme court [02:23:51] they have left mothers scrambling to [02:23:53] find food for their precious babies [02:23:56] and now they are attacking our second [02:23:58] amendment rights [02:24:00] but you all have gathered today [02:24:03] because together we have had enough [02:24:06] and i can tell you from what we are [02:24:08] hearing from our fellow americans [02:24:10] knowing [02:24:12] there are women like you that want to [02:24:14] fight for this country [02:24:16] i can tell you that we are taking our [02:24:20] country back this fall and in 2024. [02:24:26] it feels like only a short time ago that [02:24:28] donald trump came down the escalator in [02:24:31] trump tower to announce he was running [02:24:34] for president [02:24:35] and the world changed [02:24:38] we saw who the media truly were [02:24:41] we saw the extent to which social media [02:24:44] companies and corporations would [02:24:46] leverage their power to keep the [02:24:48] american people in the dark and help [02:24:50] democrats win elections [02:24:53] but trump spoke the truth [02:24:56] and connected our disunited electorate [02:24:59] with a purpose [02:25:00] a cause [02:25:02] his words resonated with all of us [02:25:04] because at the end of the day [02:25:06] we want what all americans want [02:25:09] protected borders and safe cities [02:25:12] freedom to raise our kids earn an honest [02:25:15] wage and speak our minds [02:25:18] but the washington swamp loathes the [02:25:21] beautiful simplicity of that the [02:25:24] autonomy and freedom from the chaotic [02:25:27] whims of washington dc [02:25:29] they fail to understand that america [02:25:31] thrives when we are protected and free [02:25:34] to be enterprising and creative [02:25:36] thoughtful and industrious [02:25:38] it's why president trump's message of [02:25:41] make america great again [02:25:43] meant and means so much to so many [02:25:48] and believe me [02:25:49] they love to attack that slogan the [02:25:52] radical left and talking heads use [02:25:55] labels and derogatory name calling to [02:25:57] pit us against our fellow americans [02:26:00] they want to alienate the views of the [02:26:02] quiet law-abiding tax paying majority [02:26:06] and make us seem out of touch [02:26:09] or backwards [02:26:10] but like with all things we fight back [02:26:14] and refuse to let them define us or [02:26:17] confine us [02:26:19] so what is make america great [02:26:22] simple [02:26:23] we want to return to a country that [02:26:26] builds things a country feared and [02:26:28] respected on the global stage [02:26:31] a country whose companies look out for [02:26:33] their own people [02:26:35] and a country where freedom and liberty [02:26:38] is presumed [02:26:39] not begged for [02:26:41] and sadly [02:26:43] making america great again is even more [02:26:45] easy to define [02:26:47] simply by contrast [02:26:49] with biden in office because our nation [02:26:52] has fallen and continues to fall behind [02:26:54] on every metric [02:26:56] but we will stop him [02:26:59] today and every day till election day in [02:27:02] 2022 and 2024 [02:27:05] we say enough is enough [02:27:08] it is no coincidence that joe biden has [02:27:11] an approval rating declining quicker [02:27:14] than his cognitive function [02:27:16] he is a president who only understands [02:27:18] cronyism kickbacks and washington [02:27:22] corruption [02:27:23] let's be clear [02:27:24] this country is being run with [02:27:26] bureaucratic inefficiency with a [02:27:29] president who even president obama's [02:27:31] defense secretary called wrong on nearly [02:27:34] every major foreign policy and national [02:27:37] security issue over the past four [02:27:40] decades [02:27:42] joe biden and the democrats are so wrong [02:27:44] in fact that even the press sense a red [02:27:48] wave is coming in november [02:27:51] liberal commentators are starting to [02:27:53] question whether this regime has it [02:27:56] under control [02:27:58] many have said [02:28:00] this would never have happened under [02:28:02] donald trump [02:28:04] people called us crazy during the 2020 [02:28:06] election [02:28:07] president trump warned us that joe biden [02:28:10] would be a disaster for this country [02:28:13] trump was right [02:28:15] inflation gas prices shortages we don't [02:28:18] even have time to rattle off the entire [02:28:21] list [02:28:22] but without a doubt [02:28:24] democrats in control of the house senate [02:28:27] and the white house has been a [02:28:29] catastrophe for our country [02:28:32] let's look at the record [02:28:34] under president trump the economy [02:28:36] performed at record high levels [02:28:38] president trump delivered the lowest [02:28:40] unemployment rate in half a century [02:28:44] even in a once in a hundred year [02:28:46] pandemic [02:28:48] president trump was on pace to bring the [02:28:50] economy roaring back to life [02:28:53] after the virus brought our lives to a [02:28:56] screeching halt [02:28:58] president trump and his team devoted [02:29:01] their efforts to cutting regulation [02:29:04] working with business leaders to reopen [02:29:06] the economy cut red tape encourage jobs [02:29:10] right here at home and inspiring [02:29:12] long-term confidence in our economy to [02:29:15] give investors and business owners what [02:29:18] they needed to hire [02:29:20] grow [02:29:21] and thrive [02:29:23] at the economic club in new york [02:29:24] president trump predicted that joe biden [02:29:27] and the policies of the left would [02:29:29] unleash an economic disaster of epic [02:29:32] proportions [02:29:33] trump was right biden is asleep at the [02:29:37] wheel and has driven us off of a fiscal [02:29:39] cliff [02:29:40] under his leadership pete budajes kamala [02:29:43] harris and others in his administration [02:29:46] have completely derailed the supply [02:29:48] chain causing massive inflation [02:29:51] their economic policies stifle growth [02:29:54] and the doubling down effective [02:29:56] inflation only amplifies their [02:29:58] ineptitude on managing the economy as a [02:30:01] whole [02:30:02] their only answer is to pass massive [02:30:05] spending packages which only increase [02:30:07] prices taxes and the government debt [02:30:11] this makes sense when you consider that [02:30:13] joe biden has been on the government [02:30:16] payroll his entire life [02:30:18] and hasn't met a congressional spending [02:30:20] package he didn't like [02:30:23] it's tragic because we need better [02:30:26] answers now as our problems only grow [02:30:31] a few months ago [02:30:33] congress passed a 1.5 trillion spending [02:30:36] package which included aid to ukraine [02:30:40] but dropped the 15.6 billion in covet [02:30:43] aid relief to americans [02:30:46] and late last month the democrats sent [02:30:48] 40 billion to ukraine while american [02:30:51] families don't even have baby formula [02:30:54] for their babies to drink [02:30:56] the democrats resort to reckless [02:31:00] misappropriated spending and fail to [02:31:02] tighten the belt at all in the face of a [02:31:05] fiscal disaster [02:31:06] and they do it again [02:31:08] and again [02:31:09] and again reflexively [02:31:12] what's worse is that in a time of [02:31:14] unprecedented government spending [02:31:17] we are seeing budget-breaking inflation [02:31:21] while the biden white house would like [02:31:22] you to believe that this is [02:31:24] putin-inspired inflation the american [02:31:27] people know better [02:31:29] even by end zone cnn and treasury [02:31:32] secretary janet yellen have been forced [02:31:34] to concede that they were wrong on [02:31:37] inflation and that it is not temporary [02:31:40] but is in fact accelerating the truly [02:31:43] scary thing is that unlike the trump [02:31:45] administration where president trump and [02:31:47] his team sought to solve problems the [02:31:50] biden administration only cares about [02:31:52] how to message about them [02:31:55] they care more about how inflation polls [02:31:58] and who they can blame [02:31:59] rather than promoting solutions [02:32:02] lowering prices protecting supply lines [02:32:06] and actually getting americans back to [02:32:08] work [02:32:09] at a rally in michigan in 2020 when [02:32:12] speaking about how he thought biden [02:32:14] would handle covet and the economy [02:32:16] president trump predicted that biden [02:32:18] doesn't have a clue [02:32:20] the cure [02:32:22] cannot be worse than the problem itself [02:32:25] now the emphasis of the trump [02:32:27] administration after the pandemic [02:32:30] reached our shores was mitigation and [02:32:32] recovery [02:32:33] the president cut off travel from china [02:32:35] when it was unpopular [02:32:37] he leaned on congress to provide aid to [02:32:40] businesses and struggling americans [02:32:42] the president encouraged governors to [02:32:44] reopen their economies and disseminated [02:32:47] guidance nationwide on testing and [02:32:49] effective antibody treatments [02:32:52] then blubbering bureaucrat biden [02:32:55] happened [02:32:57] the biden administration squandered [02:32:59] resources attacked anyone who strayed [02:33:02] from their messaging and encouraged [02:33:04] governors to keep lockdowns [02:33:06] that is [02:33:07] until the polling changed [02:33:09] overnight [02:33:11] covid was over for the biden [02:33:12] administration [02:33:14] conveniently masks were scrapped before [02:33:16] the state of the union suddenly liberal [02:33:18] mayors and governors across our country [02:33:21] in unison began lifting lockdowns and [02:33:24] easing restrictions [02:33:25] some even had the audacity to say that [02:33:27] it was their idea and that democrats [02:33:30] were the ones trying to reopen public [02:33:32] schools and republicans were standing in [02:33:34] the way [02:33:36] some democrats shamelessness has no [02:33:38] floor [02:33:40] but let's not let him off the hook as in [02:33:43] all things biden his administration even [02:33:46] blundered [02:33:47] a fantastic groundwork laid by the trump [02:33:50] administration [02:33:52] almost as if they like to divide people [02:33:55] biden called the pandemic a quote [02:33:58] pandemic of the unvaccinated [02:34:01] checks on twitter journalists and [02:34:04] liberal politicians began thinking aloud [02:34:06] whether unvaccinated individuals should [02:34:09] be denied hospital care [02:34:12] it's disgusting [02:34:14] but the biden administration and their [02:34:16] elite friends [02:34:17] never pass an opportunity to let you [02:34:19] know how superior they are [02:34:22] this time [02:34:24] they just said the quiet part out loud [02:34:28] how extreme did the biden blunder go [02:34:30] the democrats established vaccine [02:34:33] passports encouraged employers to force [02:34:36] vaccinations on their workers and when [02:34:38] that didn't work they tried to force [02:34:40] firings by federal law [02:34:43] overnight employers and even the federal [02:34:46] government were laying off tens of [02:34:48] thousands of workers for what [02:34:51] for making a personal health choice [02:34:54] in some states you could go to the [02:34:56] liquor store or a strip club but not to [02:34:59] church [02:35:00] you could attend a black lives matter [02:35:02] protest but not your grandmother's [02:35:04] funeral [02:35:06] how progressive [02:35:08] it just goes to show [02:35:10] the courage and resolve that the [02:35:11] democrats and joe biden lack and by [02:35:14] contrast president trump and his [02:35:16] administration possessed and maintained [02:35:19] to this day [02:35:21] and even from the origin of kovid amidst [02:35:24] immense media backlash president trump [02:35:26] was willing to correctly state that the [02:35:29] coronavirus came from china and while [02:35:32] nancy pelosi was [02:35:34] gallivanting around celebrating chinese [02:35:37] new year at the start of the pandemic [02:35:40] president trump and his administration [02:35:42] were putting chinese president xi [02:35:44] jinping on notice that we knew where the [02:35:47] virus came from and that the american [02:35:50] people were angry that the chinese [02:35:52] communists not only did nothing to stop [02:35:54] the spread but hid important data from [02:35:56] the rest of the international community [02:35:59] even before the pandemic president trump [02:36:01] talked tough to china and he took action [02:36:04] trump's trade war with china protected [02:36:06] american companies and most importantly [02:36:09] american intellectual property [02:36:12] his administration took vital steps to [02:36:15] insulate our supply chain from being [02:36:17] taken hostage by the ccp [02:36:19] and pronounced on the world stage that [02:36:21] the era of american companies being [02:36:23] taken for a ride was over [02:36:26] president trump recognized the real [02:36:29] threat [02:36:30] and while we are talking about foreign [02:36:32] affairs remember that trump warned us [02:36:35] everything biden touches turns into a [02:36:38] calamity and a total disaster it's one [02:36:41] train wreck after another [02:36:44] under trump we were respected on the [02:36:46] world stage and feared by our enemies we [02:36:49] experienced international growth for [02:36:51] american companies and brought entire [02:36:53] industries [02:36:55] back to the united states [02:36:57] president trump made unprecedented [02:37:00] inroads with radical dictators like kim [02:37:02] jong-un and successfully negotiated the [02:37:05] release of american hostages [02:37:08] president trump as commander-in-chief [02:37:10] eliminated isis and took out iranian [02:37:13] terrorists kasem solamani trump's [02:37:15] administration procured peace under the [02:37:18] abraham accords between israel and the [02:37:20] united arab emirates opening up trade [02:37:23] relationships and travel [02:37:25] under trump the united states was at [02:37:28] peace [02:37:30] times have certainly changed from the [02:37:31] american dominance of only two years ago [02:37:34] the world watched as president biden [02:37:37] bungled the american withdrawal from [02:37:38] afghanistan [02:37:40] we all saw as the administration left [02:37:42] our allies and americans stranded in [02:37:45] afghanistan [02:37:46] they handed billions of dollars of [02:37:48] military equipment to the taliban [02:37:51] when they are not giving away our [02:37:52] weapons to our enemies the biden [02:37:54] administration is more focused on making [02:37:56] sure our military has the proper [02:37:59] diversity training then rather ensuring [02:38:02] we have the most lethal military on the [02:38:04] planet [02:38:06] sensing our weakness and ineffectiveness [02:38:09] it's been widely reported that foreign [02:38:11] officials won't even take president [02:38:12] biden's calls [02:38:14] that's unacceptably dangerous [02:38:16] considering china is flexing its muscles [02:38:19] in the taiwan straits and russia has [02:38:21] invaded ukraine [02:38:23] the white house is constantly running [02:38:25] cleanup for a president who was so [02:38:27] delusional and inept that his every [02:38:30] misstatement is nearly an international [02:38:32] incident [02:38:33] they continue to blame a stutter [02:38:36] for the time biden called for the [02:38:38] assassination of vladimir putin which is [02:38:40] a pretty astounding fact [02:38:43] i've never come across a speech [02:38:45] impediment in a person that was [02:38:47] consistently angling us towards world [02:38:50] war three [02:38:52] it is a sad state of affairs that the [02:38:55] oval office once the epicenter of [02:38:57] foreign affairs has been reduced to just [02:39:00] a semi-round room for a feeble man [02:39:04] speaking of which [02:39:06] joe biden's [02:39:08] commute from the white house to the west [02:39:10] wing is so short that he probably hasn't [02:39:12] noticed that americans are actually [02:39:14] paying the price for his backwards [02:39:16] policies at the pump and on everyday [02:39:19] goods and services [02:39:20] the administration continues to be out [02:39:22] of touch and directly in opposition to [02:39:25] american growth and energy independence [02:39:29] on the debate stage in october 2020 [02:39:32] president trump called out biden for his [02:39:34] radical position on energy [02:39:36] remember what he said [02:39:38] trump said he is going to destroy the [02:39:40] oil industry [02:39:42] on the very first day in office biden [02:39:45] pulled the permit for the keystone xl [02:39:47] pipeline a pipeline that would have [02:39:49] substantially increased the american oil [02:39:52] supply [02:39:53] at the same time biden approved the [02:39:56] russia backed nordstream 2 pipeline he [02:39:59] weakened us at home and helped our [02:40:01] rivals abroad [02:40:03] solid work joe [02:40:05] the pain is being felt at the pump too [02:40:08] gas prices are racing towards ten [02:40:11] dollars per gallon in parts of this [02:40:12] country as a result the american people [02:40:15] are hurting [02:40:16] it has a multiplying effect too as gas [02:40:19] prices go up everything gets more [02:40:22] expensive [02:40:23] what's the biden administration's answer [02:40:26] calm down [02:40:27] they tell us just have a margarita [02:40:30] former press secretary jenn saki says [02:40:33] just buy an electric car [02:40:35] pete buddhist says their insensitivity [02:40:38] to the needs of the american people is [02:40:40] as callous and out of touch as we've [02:40:42] seen in decades coming from the white [02:40:44] house they actually pull out a press [02:40:47] release last year patting themselves on [02:40:50] the back for saving americans 14 cents [02:40:54] at our fourth of july barbecues [02:40:57] which ask an economist the buying power [02:41:00] of that 14 cents is now worth more like [02:41:02] two cents today [02:41:04] and their plans for the economy and [02:41:06] environment are anti-american [02:41:08] biden's chief campaign promise was for [02:41:11] us to return to the paris climate [02:41:13] accords [02:41:14] this is a deal that throttles down the [02:41:16] american economy while allowing [02:41:18] countries like china to pollute at [02:41:20] record levels with no enforcement [02:41:22] mechanism other than finger wagging from [02:41:25] the other signatories [02:41:27] it's backwards thinking and a race to [02:41:29] the bottom for american energy trump [02:41:31] predicted that biden would kill american [02:41:33] oil and energy independence [02:41:36] trump was right [02:41:38] i am so thankful for turning point usa [02:41:41] and for all of you gathering today [02:41:44] building lifelong friendships with other [02:41:46] like-minded women [02:41:48] gaining leadership skills and deciding [02:41:50] to make our voices heard [02:41:53] but what we have seen over the past few [02:41:55] years is the devastating length some [02:41:57] will go to in this country to silence [02:42:00] conservatives [02:42:01] big tech is a real threat to democracy [02:42:04] and a free people and society [02:42:07] donald trump told us big tech is [02:42:09] shutting down an entire group of people [02:42:12] not just me he said they're shutting [02:42:14] down the voice of a tremendously [02:42:16] powerful and a much larger group [02:42:20] imagine living in a time where the [02:42:21] president of the united states is [02:42:23] prevented from having a voice on social [02:42:25] media but the supreme leader of iran can [02:42:29] tweet death to america [02:42:32] totally sane rational people [02:42:34] living out in silicon valley [02:42:37] as he said it's not just donald trump [02:42:40] that was removed from all social media [02:42:41] in coordination at the beginning of 2021 [02:42:44] it's people like us [02:42:46] and people [02:42:47] that think like us that get purged every [02:42:50] day it's something out of a 1984 novel [02:42:54] or a communist cultural revolution [02:42:56] it really makes you wonder what values [02:42:59] twitter actually holds when you can post [02:43:02] pornography of death to america on their [02:43:05] platform but not certain conservative [02:43:07] ideas [02:43:08] and the biden administration has been [02:43:10] the sole beneficiary of big tech's [02:43:13] allegiance to the messaging let's not [02:43:15] forget [02:43:16] that the obama and now biden white house [02:43:19] was just a revolving door to actually [02:43:22] work at big tech giants the obama [02:43:24] administration created policies hostile [02:43:27] to conservatives then these same [02:43:29] officials left and took jobs in silicon [02:43:32] valley [02:43:33] hardwiring these policies and views into [02:43:36] tech giants only to now return to [02:43:38] washington in the biden administration [02:43:41] codifying these messages with unified [02:43:44] support from big tech [02:43:47] this administration truly is the nexus [02:43:49] of corporatism woke-ism and cronyism [02:43:53] president trump warned us that we needed [02:43:56] to break up the big tech monopolies or [02:43:58] we'd be subjugated and our voices [02:44:00] silence [02:44:02] speaking of corruption details are [02:44:04] emerging that the everyday joe biden [02:44:07] might not be as clean as he has made [02:44:09] himself out to be [02:44:11] donald trump told us on 60 minutes do [02:44:13] you remember he said that the biden [02:44:15] scandal is one of the biggest scandals [02:44:17] i've ever seen [02:44:19] never forget what happened in the fall [02:44:21] of 2020 the new york post reported that [02:44:24] a laptop ditch by hunter biden at a [02:44:27] repair shop contained an email in which [02:44:29] hunter biden introduced his father to a [02:44:32] top ukrainian energy company executive [02:44:34] less than a year before joe biden [02:44:36] pressured ukrainian officials into [02:44:38] firing a prosecutor who was [02:44:40] investigating the same company that is [02:44:42] just the tip of the iceberg of this [02:44:44] laptop which has been verified and [02:44:47] contains evidence of illicit activities [02:44:49] democrats including jensaki called it [02:44:52] russian disinformation and social media [02:44:55] companies helped their comrades by [02:44:58] suspending the new york post's twitter [02:45:00] account and prevented dissemination of [02:45:02] the story on their site [02:45:04] why because they knew if the american [02:45:07] people knew the extent of the biden [02:45:09] crime family there is no way he could [02:45:12] beat donald trump now more than a year [02:45:15] after the fact and since we aren't in a [02:45:17] presidential election year the new york [02:45:20] times has finally reported what the new [02:45:22] york post and other conservative outlets [02:45:24] reported in the fall of 2020 [02:45:26] quoting from the new york times [02:45:28] the new york times from a cachet of [02:45:30] files that appears to have come from a [02:45:32] laptop abandoned by mr biden in a [02:45:35] delaware repair shop [02:45:37] many other news outlets have similarly [02:45:40] been able to verify the laptop's [02:45:42] contents [02:45:43] would you look at that [02:45:45] but the scandal goes deeper than just [02:45:46] the email introduction federal [02:45:48] investigators are apparently looking [02:45:50] beyond just tax fraud but a range of [02:45:53] overseas business transactions money [02:45:55] laundering and pay to play schemes [02:45:58] orchestrated by hunter in connection [02:46:00] with joe [02:46:01] remember when they spent four years [02:46:03] under trump alleging collusion and [02:46:04] election tampering and russian [02:46:06] coordination [02:46:07] remember when multiple investigations [02:46:09] came up empty completely exonerating [02:46:11] president trump [02:46:13] of course you do [02:46:14] it would seem that everything they [02:46:16] accused president trump of doing [02:46:18] they were actually doing themselves [02:46:21] if this is what the new york times is [02:46:22] reporting and it's this serious imagine [02:46:26] what they are holding back [02:46:28] trump warned us years ago that this [02:46:30] scandal was deep [02:46:32] trump was right [02:46:34] unfortunately it's not enough to be [02:46:36] right [02:46:36] donald trump is not a man to be a monday [02:46:39] morning quarterback and shout i was [02:46:42] right at the tv [02:46:43] no [02:46:44] this president is a fighter just as you [02:46:47] all are fighters [02:46:49] he and all of us are angry about how far [02:46:51] our nation has fallen under blundering [02:46:53] biden we are tired of a congress that is [02:46:57] out of touch and who is spending our [02:46:59] nation into financial ruin we are [02:47:01] embarrassed that our president flounders [02:47:03] on the international stage and are [02:47:05] furious that he has abandoned our allies [02:47:08] and aided our enemies we are disgusted [02:47:10] by the corruption of the biden family [02:47:12] and washington politics as usual we are [02:47:15] done being silenced by big tech and you [02:47:18] know what we as conservative women are [02:47:21] tired of being sidelined as though our [02:47:23] views don't matter [02:47:25] it's not enough to be right anymore the [02:47:27] stakes are too great it's not enough to [02:47:30] be angry about gas prices and inflation [02:47:32] frustrated that we're told we can't have [02:47:35] a say in our child's education [02:47:37] worried about not having baby formula or [02:47:39] food to put on the table or scared that [02:47:42] biden has created an unsafe world [02:47:44] we must fight back [02:47:46] we have to not only say we are right but [02:47:50] fight for our rights we must be loud we [02:47:53] must attend our city council meetings [02:47:55] and school board meetings we must demand [02:47:58] accountability from our leaders we must [02:48:00] register our neighbors and our friends [02:48:02] to vote and we must and we will [02:48:06] vote in november [02:48:08] there are women rising up all around our [02:48:10] great country women running our office [02:48:13] registering voters battling for their [02:48:16] children our future we are the lifeblood [02:48:19] of this nation right now we are the [02:48:22] backbone demanding action [02:48:24] trump was right [02:48:26] there are more of us and we grow by the [02:48:29] day the left wants conservative women to [02:48:32] be quiet to sit politely down but [02:48:35] we've got news for them we are not going [02:48:38] to be silent majority any more we're [02:48:42] going to be loud trump was right and [02:48:45] we're right and we will be right in [02:48:48] november when we take back congress and [02:48:50] we will be right in 2024 when we take [02:48:53] back the white house [02:48:55] we will be on the right side of history [02:48:57] god bless you all and god bless this [02:49:00] great country and together we will [02:49:04] make america great again thank you [02:49:09] [Music] [02:49:20] hey everyone it's erica kirk and we are [02:52:56] spot [02:52:57] it's pretty awesome deal okay let's get [02:52:59] to some questions [02:53:01] hi i'm liberty i'm from milwaukee [02:53:03] wisconsin and [02:53:05] [Applause] [02:53:07] i was wondering how do you stay like [02:53:09] motivated like getting into politics and [02:53:13] all that stuff how do you keep yourself [02:53:15] motivated to learn more and keep [02:53:17] researching researching it's a great [02:53:19] question your name is literally liberty [02:53:20] that's awesome um that's amazing so [02:53:23] turning point usa celebrates 10 years [02:53:25] tomorrow it's amazing and [02:53:27] our 10-year anniversary [02:53:29] look [02:53:30] i um [02:53:32] you have to have drive [02:53:34] and you have to be [02:53:35] you have to be somebody that wants it [02:53:37] really bad and i think a lot of you do [02:53:40] but it's not for everybody if you get [02:53:42] involved in politics you have to be [02:53:44] willing to lose all your friends [02:53:46] you have to be willing to be bullied [02:53:47] harassed called awful names [02:53:49] probably publicly doxxed and be unfairly [02:53:52] attacked for a long period of time [02:53:55] however the good part about getting [02:53:56] involved in this fight is that it's [02:53:58] totally worth it [02:53:59] is that you're actually doing something [02:54:01] meaningful not just rearranging numbers [02:54:03] at some accounting firm [02:54:05] that you're actually defending the [02:54:07] greatest nation ever to exist in the [02:54:09] history of the world and so the best way [02:54:12] to [02:54:13] um [02:54:14] let's say continue the drive is to be [02:54:17] able to answer the why [02:54:18] and if you can't answer the why then you [02:54:20] shouldn't get involved in this and the [02:54:22] why is the most important question which [02:54:24] is i want my kids to live in a free [02:54:26] country [02:54:27] and when you look at things [02:54:28] intergenerationally all of a sudden you [02:54:31] stop being the most important person in [02:54:32] the world and you start fighting for [02:54:34] future generations that they might also [02:54:36] enjoy this nation and so look [02:54:39] you have to know why you're getting [02:54:40] involved in it and you brought up a good [02:54:42] point which is you know one of the [02:54:43] things i want to encourage everybody in [02:54:45] this room to do is take learning very [02:54:47] seriously [02:54:48] you know for about an hour to an hour [02:54:49] and a half every single day i turn my [02:54:51] phone on airplane mode and i'm listening [02:54:53] to a book reading a book listening to [02:54:55] something taking hillsdale online course [02:54:57] by the way which all of you could do [02:54:59] charlieforhillsdale.com all their online [02:55:01] courses are amazing and we partner with [02:55:03] hillsdale college i've taken 15 of them [02:55:06] there's 30 of them and they're tough i [02:55:08] mean there's it's work but it's [02:55:10] fulfilling you'll learn everything about [02:55:12] from economics to the constitution of [02:55:14] declaration to american history but [02:55:16] that's the kind of drive that i think [02:55:18] will make you [02:55:20] be a differentiating factor and i'll [02:55:22] just say this that [02:55:23] drive is diminishing generation after [02:55:26] generation uh generation z is not as [02:55:29] driven even as some people and [02:55:30] millennials and what do i mean by that [02:55:32] it's just being willing to show up early [02:55:34] and stay late and not act as if there's [02:55:37] anything special because you worked [02:55:38] extra hours [02:55:40] so that's that's the great [02:55:42] differentiator but you've got to be able [02:55:43] to answer the why great question thank [02:55:45] you [02:55:48] hi my name is amy hardy and [02:55:51] i'm a mom [02:55:52] with my daughter [02:55:54] my question is about college so my [02:55:56] husband and i differ on this [02:55:58] i feel like she needs to go she is in [02:56:01] school she was at point loma university [02:56:04] that lasted one semester and a big chunk [02:56:06] of change pulled her out because they [02:56:09] were not doing turning point usa would [02:56:12] not honor the chapter [02:56:14] um [02:56:15] so the struggle now is [02:56:17] she [02:56:18] pulled back she's at the community [02:56:20] college for a short time until she can [02:56:21] transfer in the problem is [02:56:24] how do we take a stand for [02:56:28] not vaccinated i don't want to be i'm [02:56:30] not taking the job i don't want my kids [02:56:32] to take the job [02:56:34] but i do [02:56:36] my husband says screw it we're done with [02:56:38] school she doesn't need school she's a [02:56:40] go-getter she can do it all day long on [02:56:41] her own [02:56:42] i'm kind of like she needs an education [02:56:45] but [02:56:46] there's a struggle here because young [02:56:49] people can't [02:56:50] go to school if they [02:56:53] give in to [02:56:54] the jab or the boosters or all of that [02:56:57] so what are we doing as parents to great [02:57:00] question support um [02:57:02] can i ask you a question so why do you [02:57:04] think she needs to go to college [02:57:06] well um [02:57:09] she probably [02:57:10] okay [02:57:12] let me just say this my husband went to [02:57:15] college for three days and when he found [02:57:17] out they didn't take role he's like i'm [02:57:19] out of here he's a self-made millionaire [02:57:21] he's worked his ass off his whole life [02:57:25] zoe has the exact same [02:57:27] she's just like that so i get it [02:57:30] um [02:57:31] i guess sometimes i just think and i [02:57:33] might get booed here but i do think that [02:57:35] women [02:57:36] are overlooked because we don't have [02:57:39] enough credentials we haven't gotten up [02:57:41] to this area in the workforce so we are [02:57:44] overlooked so my thing to her is like [02:57:46] girl get out there and get as many [02:57:48] things as you can under your belt and [02:57:50] and with you as a tool and a strategy so [02:57:53] that you go you can go out [02:57:56] and [02:57:57] that's actually a real that's the best [02:57:58] answer [02:57:59] that's the best answer i totally [02:58:01] disagree but that's actually the best [02:58:02] answer i've ever heard i want to not [02:58:04] because [02:58:05] your intent is right which is that it's [02:58:07] a tough world and i want my [02:58:09] my child to be able to at least have the [02:58:11] credentials [02:58:12] right and [02:58:13] you answered it correctly which is you [02:58:16] didn't say that college was gonna make [02:58:17] her smarter or wiser it was just gonna [02:58:19] be like you know we need the boxes [02:58:20] checked so look i never tell people what [02:58:23] to do in their own personal decisions [02:58:24] because there's multiple millions of [02:58:26] factors of micro decisions that i'm not [02:58:28] able to kind of see into but i'll just [02:58:30] kind of give you some kind of general [02:58:32] wisdom uh which is outside of a couple [02:58:35] colleges in america um i think college [02:58:38] is a colossal waste of time i really do [02:58:40] and so [02:58:41] now let me let me clarify if you want to [02:58:43] be an engineer a lawyer you know a [02:58:44] lawyer or a doctor [02:58:47] then i think there's a path for that but [02:58:49] a vast majority of people that go to [02:58:50] college go to study the humanities or [02:58:53] they go for a communications degree and [02:58:55] all i'm not trying to insult you if [02:58:57] you're studying those things by the way [02:58:58] okay you were just told to go get a [02:59:00] piece of paper and borrow a bunch of [02:59:02] money you don't have to study things [02:59:03] that don't matter to find jobs that [02:59:05] don't exist right and that cycle [02:59:06] continues [02:59:08] and so [02:59:09] it [02:59:10] college has this impression by upper [02:59:12] middle class society as kind of being [02:59:15] this rite of passage and they're going [02:59:17] to find themselves and that can happen [02:59:19] with some people for sure i think some [02:59:21] people definitely grow in college i will [02:59:24] say that young women generally get a lot [02:59:26] more out of college than young men [02:59:28] i think and that's just a general rule [02:59:31] so your gut instinct in that way isn't [02:59:33] totally wrong [02:59:34] but [02:59:36] she's at the young women's leadership [02:59:37] summit here so she's probably exempt [02:59:39] from this [02:59:40] however parents need to hear this when [02:59:41] you send your child to college you're [02:59:43] going to play russian roulette with [02:59:44] their values [02:59:45] and i hear this every single day from [02:59:47] parents again we have over a hundred [02:59:49] thousand donors at turning point usa and [02:59:51] we get thousands of letters every single [02:59:53] month charlie i sent my kid to this [02:59:55] college and our relationship has never [02:59:57] been the same they no longer have faith [02:59:59] they hate the country and i don't know [03:00:01] what happened to them and i paid for it [03:00:04] and so that i know that's probably not a [03:00:06] fear for you but if the question is what [03:00:09] do you think you're going to get out of [03:00:10] it right if you if you admit it's just [03:00:12] kind of a credential and i need to get [03:00:13] that piece of paper then that's the [03:00:15] proper way to go into it right with kind [03:00:16] of and know that they're going to try to [03:00:18] indoctrinate you at every corner but let [03:00:20] me also say this though you say your [03:00:21] daughter's a go-getter and has drive [03:00:24] college has a tendency and has a track [03:00:27] record of destroying that [03:00:29] it has a tendency to actually make you [03:00:31] think less of your entrepreneurial [03:00:32] instincts has a tendency to make you [03:00:34] just think go get a corporate job and [03:00:36] because now you got to pay off your you [03:00:37] know your student loan debt we need more [03:00:39] entrepreneurs in our country we need [03:00:41] more people to take risks [03:00:43] and [03:00:44] i always laugh when people say and i [03:00:46] mean no offense by this so please people [03:00:48] say i'm studying entrepreneurship but [03:00:49] you don't study entrepreneurship [03:00:51] you do entrepreneurship okay [03:00:54] you go take the risk you get in the [03:00:55] marketplace and so look everybody's [03:00:57] different for me college wasn't the [03:00:59] right choice i took a gap year it's been [03:01:00] a gap decade now [03:01:03] and i understand that upper middle class [03:01:05] society what i just talked about is kind [03:01:07] of a thought crime right but i'll say [03:01:09] one last thing to parents and i'll leave [03:01:10] it at this right which is [03:01:12] is it about your child's future or is it [03:01:14] about yours your fear that you might [03:01:17] have to turn to your neighbors or your [03:01:18] relatives and say johnny isn't going to [03:01:20] college [03:01:21] that's tough because deep down parents [03:01:24] talk a good game they're like yeah [03:01:26] you know we need more welders we need [03:01:27] more electricians we need more hvac we [03:01:29] need more and everyone agrees right [03:01:31] but [03:01:33] my kid's not going to work construction [03:01:35] my kid's going to be an air-conditioned [03:01:37] office with a degree looking at a screen [03:01:39] all day long so it's something to think [03:01:41] about because a vast majority of young [03:01:43] people especially young men when asked [03:01:44] the question they believe they're [03:01:45] getting nothing out of their college [03:01:47] degree it's a waste of time and that [03:01:49] they can't wait to get out of it it's a [03:01:50] really expensive [03:01:53] track and trajectory that we're on by [03:01:54] the way the national graduation rate is [03:01:56] 59 how many of you know someone that [03:01:58] dropped out of college raise your hand [03:02:00] every hand goes up if if you had a 41 [03:02:04] chance of getting food poisoning from a [03:02:05] restaurant they'd be closed down and [03:02:07] they'd all be indicted for mass [03:02:09] poisoning [03:02:10] and yet 41 [03:02:12] 41 [03:02:13] of kids that go to college drop out [03:02:15] maybe we have too many kids going in the [03:02:17] first place thank you for your question [03:02:22] uh hi charlie my name is ivana and my [03:02:25] question is [03:02:26] you have often talked about monopolies [03:02:29] are bad [03:02:30] but if you took all government [03:02:32] involvement out of monopolies such as [03:02:34] tax corruption or law supporting big [03:02:36] tech would there still [03:02:38] would monopolies [03:02:40] still be bad and if so explain in detail [03:02:44] why [03:02:45] that's a great question um [03:02:47] it's a very thoughtful question so let's [03:02:49] talk first why are monopolies bad [03:02:51] so [03:02:52] one of the principles of [03:02:54] the constitution that we love is this [03:02:56] idea of separation of powers and so we [03:02:59] believe that not one person one [03:03:01] organization should be able to have [03:03:03] unchecked power over another which is [03:03:05] where we get the principle of checks and [03:03:06] balances and so and its intent the [03:03:09] united states constitution was written [03:03:11] to say that absolute power corrupts [03:03:13] absolutely as sir lord acton would say [03:03:15] so therefore we believe that there [03:03:17] should always be checks on that kind of [03:03:19] a power right so then you bring it to [03:03:21] kind of what you're talking about is [03:03:22] private company monopolies which is [03:03:25] what is the check and balance on a [03:03:26] private company well that's competition [03:03:28] and market forces [03:03:30] usually [03:03:32] and so what's happened though and this [03:03:34] is something where a lot of [03:03:34] conservatives [03:03:36] in my personal opinion we need to kind [03:03:38] of think a little bit more openly about [03:03:39] things is what happens when google [03:03:43] becomes stronger than your government [03:03:46] what happens when google becomes its own [03:03:48] monopoly because we should have the [03:03:50] premise right of separation of powers [03:03:53] and checks and balances so how do we [03:03:55] check google well we start a competitor [03:03:56] is what we're always told right [03:03:58] like parlor [03:04:00] and then they eliminate parlor in one [03:04:02] night when amazon [03:04:04] google and apple decide it should no [03:04:06] longer exist now your question was very [03:04:08] specific which is if we got rid of the [03:04:10] cronyism and the tax loopholes and all [03:04:12] of this [03:04:13] would monopoly still exist we don't know [03:04:16] that's that's i think a nice thought [03:04:19] exercise for a college economics course [03:04:21] but it's not rooted in anything that [03:04:23] we're even close to grasping in reality [03:04:25] right now so we could we could guess we [03:04:27] could say maybe we could say it might [03:04:29] but here's what i do know right now is [03:04:31] that we as conservatives must be honest [03:04:34] that our liberty granted by god is under [03:04:36] attack by both the government and [03:04:37] private companies both [03:04:40] and that's something that we have to [03:04:41] wrestle with right because and i'll [03:04:44] let you have a follow-up in a second [03:04:46] which is we as conservatives always [03:04:48] believe that the market will then have a [03:04:50] check on these private companies but [03:04:53] what happens when those private [03:04:54] companies start to work in collusion [03:04:55] with one another right when google [03:04:58] starts to look out for apple's best [03:04:59] interests that look out for facebook [03:05:00] best interest against your best interest [03:05:03] to silence our voice and then get our [03:05:05] kids addicted to screens at ages seven [03:05:07] where they do nothing but stare at [03:05:09] instagram and tick tock feeds all day [03:05:11] long and we're told that somehow this is [03:05:13] a better thing that's the question that [03:05:14] conservatives need to answer so my [03:05:16] general [03:05:17] my general um [03:05:20] let's say [03:05:21] uh argument for this is i want to try to [03:05:24] make market forces to solve problems [03:05:26] that government created but when it [03:05:28] comes to the silicon valley companies in [03:05:30] particular and you do not have a check [03:05:32] on power i believe that's a moral [03:05:34] question quick follow-up yeah [03:05:36] well i guess it's it's also like people [03:05:39] you talk about this and i don't want to [03:05:41] say like i'm for monopolies i'm not [03:05:44] but at the same time with capitalism [03:05:47] like [03:05:47] how far should we be regulating that [03:05:50] because in my head i'm thinking well no [03:05:51] we shouldn't be regulating the market [03:05:53] the government shouldn't be involved but [03:05:55] then we have these big monopolies i mean [03:05:57] there's there's not a really clear line [03:05:59] and you might not have an answer but i [03:06:00] guess that's what i've been thinking [03:06:01] yeah that's a great question so where do [03:06:02] you draw the line there's a great word [03:06:04] that comes from a greek word which means [03:06:06] basically common sense called prudence [03:06:08] right so i think we can all agree that [03:06:09] if you have 150 million active users in [03:06:13] america you probably should be treated a [03:06:15] little bit differently than the local [03:06:16] bakery or the local coffee shop right i [03:06:18] mean that's just prudence right you look [03:06:20] at that you're like okay wait a second i [03:06:22] understand market principles but when [03:06:24] all of a sudden the business model of [03:06:26] instagram is to try to hire a bunch of [03:06:28] neuroscientists to get eight-year-olds [03:06:30] addicted to study staring at screens all [03:06:32] day long [03:06:33] i'm not gonna all of a sudden be like [03:06:34] well that's the market i'm like actually [03:06:36] no that's no different than pushing [03:06:37] opioids on kids in a like a lesser [03:06:39] extent and so that's where we have to [03:06:41] kind of we have to balance the beauty of [03:06:43] the market and the ability to improve [03:06:45] improve people's lives with also the [03:06:47] human cost so what the best word is [03:06:48] prudence how do you come across a [03:06:50] prudent decision dialogue discussion and [03:06:53] also understanding what the end goal is [03:06:56] the end goal is not profit for profit [03:06:58] sake this is where libertarians disagree [03:07:00] with me the end goal is human [03:07:01] flourishing and the pursuit of virtue [03:07:03] and people who live happy and [03:07:05] faith-filled lives that's the end goal [03:07:07] and so as markets allow us to achieve [03:07:10] that goal i'm all for it when all of a [03:07:12] sudden these massive companies start to [03:07:13] act i think in ways that are a little [03:07:16] more um let's say reckless then we have [03:07:19] to start to consider other options [03:07:21] wonderful question thank you appreciate [03:07:22] it [03:07:25] hi my name is helea i was fortunate [03:07:28] enough to be a homeschool student all [03:07:29] the way through high school [03:07:33] so i just graduated high school and i'll [03:07:35] be going off to college this fall to [03:07:37] study nursing [03:07:38] and i was just wondering so for students [03:07:41] that haven't exactly faced adversity [03:07:43] before [03:07:44] um what advice would you give for if i [03:07:46] want to be part of like a students for [03:07:48] life club or like a turning point usa [03:07:51] chapter what advice would you give for [03:07:52] students that haven't handled that [03:07:53] before [03:07:54] it's a great question um so [03:07:56] i think too highly of all of you to lie [03:07:58] to you [03:07:59] your your life is going to be [03:08:00] temporarily miserable [03:08:01] it will every high school friend you [03:08:03] thought that was close to you not every [03:08:05] but most will start sending you nasty [03:08:07] messages how many of you experience this [03:08:08] as soon as you come out as a [03:08:10] conservative yeah of course [03:08:11] and you just got to be ready for it and [03:08:13] you got to make that decision right i'm [03:08:14] not going to give any kind of false [03:08:15] impressions or kind of but here's the [03:08:17] cool thing [03:08:18] is that in life [03:08:21] you want to be the person that grows [03:08:23] tougher as the circumstances grow more [03:08:26] difficult not that you run away from [03:08:27] tough situations so the cool thing is [03:08:30] god made us as human beings as creatures [03:08:32] that adapt and we adapt really well [03:08:34] you're going to get stronger through [03:08:36] that and it'll be tough and you'll be [03:08:38] texting your friends that don't want to [03:08:40] talk to you anymore like why are you [03:08:41] doing this and i don't understand and [03:08:43] then you make new friends and then all [03:08:45] of a sudden [03:08:46] trial and tribulation isn't going to [03:08:48] really faze you [03:08:49] because guess what that's not going to [03:08:51] be the last kind of chapter of adversity [03:08:54] you're going to face as a human being [03:08:55] and this is one of the things this is [03:08:56] why the left is so fragile this is why [03:08:59] we are going to beat the left is because [03:09:01] they run away from these sort of [03:09:02] difficulties they're like you're making [03:09:03] me unsafe like life is actually unsafe [03:09:06] like get tougher and stop trying to make [03:09:08] the world [03:09:10] adjust to your sort of [03:09:12] mental paranoia like the world is full [03:09:14] of risks driving here is a risk [03:09:16] living is a risk you cannot be happy if [03:09:19] you are afraid of risk all the time it's [03:09:22] it's this mass neurosis that has [03:09:24] kind of just spread across our land [03:09:27] so lean in if that's what you want for [03:09:29] your life but be ready that you might [03:09:31] lose job opportunities internships [03:09:32] people will look at you differently [03:09:34] they're going to try to tar and feather [03:09:35] you you're going to have people try to [03:09:37] say that oh yeah you're making a mistake [03:09:40] you can look around and know that you're [03:09:41] not alone but you're going to be tougher [03:09:42] because of it and here's the other good [03:09:44] news you have a big [03:09:46] organization like turning point usa that [03:09:48] has your back that's going to make it [03:09:50] easy for you to do that okay god bless [03:09:52] you [03:09:55] hi my name is maddie and i'm from [03:09:57] arkansas and i'm just wondering what [03:09:59] your advice is to women in their mid-20s [03:10:01] to early 30s who have desired to get [03:10:03] married and have children early on but [03:10:06] they're having a hard time meeting a man [03:10:08] to settle down with who will be a leader [03:10:10] and initiator of the relationship great [03:10:12] question okay so the best place to meet [03:10:15] a man is this is the equation okay so go [03:10:17] find a bible believing church [03:10:20] this is this is how you do it okay [03:10:22] get to know the pastor's wife [03:10:26] tell her that you want to find a husband [03:10:27] and it will happen [03:10:28] i'm not kidding [03:10:30] i'm telling you pastors wives are always [03:10:33] setting p they know the whole roster of [03:10:35] men they're always looking to gifting [03:10:38] i'm telling you pastors wives they they [03:10:40] just get it i've seen more marriages [03:10:42] happen there but it's more than just [03:10:44] kind of looking at the church as a [03:10:45] dating tool which is helpful obviously [03:10:48] but get involved in the church right is [03:10:51] volunteer get involved in [03:10:53] in [03:10:54] bible ministries or small group [03:10:55] ministries as i mean um that's a great [03:10:57] place because at least there's some form [03:10:59] of shared values and then this is the [03:11:01] other thing which is tell people you're [03:11:03] actively looking for somebody [03:11:05] i know this and don't be desperate but [03:11:07] be like look i've kind of been striking [03:11:08] out the last couple years you know if [03:11:10] you know anyone that'd be great and then [03:11:12] be open-minded and willing for what god [03:11:14] might have in store for you [03:11:15] and but it's not going to happen just by [03:11:18] kind of sitting at home [03:11:20] and be like he's going to crash through [03:11:21] the window [03:11:22] at any moment [03:11:24] maybe probably not [03:11:26] right and so you got to put yourself in [03:11:27] kind of those environments where that is [03:11:29] going to be fostered and that is going [03:11:31] to happen and be active right make [03:11:33] yourself presentable and present [03:11:35] yourself to the world in a way where at [03:11:37] any moment you could meet your future [03:11:40] partner right and so then i'll kind of [03:11:43] go back to the other advice i gave [03:11:45] earlier which is hold yourself to a high [03:11:46] standard here's the thing [03:11:48] is that in a world where men [03:11:50] unfortunately are over saturated to be [03:11:52] able to get whatever they want whenever [03:11:54] they want it [03:11:56] have the self-discipline [03:11:58] to all of a sudden be like well if you [03:12:00] want me [03:12:01] then you're going to have to get your [03:12:02] act together because you think about it [03:12:04] it's the opposite right it's [03:12:07] and it's something that some women [03:12:09] struggle with [03:12:10] which is like [03:12:11] hey if i'm going to get in a [03:12:13] relationship with you and i'm going to [03:12:16] partner with you you know i'm gonna have [03:12:18] to we're gonna have to have some very [03:12:19] clear guidelines and rules such as some [03:12:21] women make the decision that i'm saving [03:12:23] myself for marriage i think that's [03:12:24] awesome by the way i think it's [03:12:25] honorable i think it's phenomenal [03:12:27] and so [03:12:28] that could be difficult for some people [03:12:30] but i think the church is the best place [03:12:31] and pastors wives i'm telling you [03:12:34] it's it's the secret god bless you thank [03:12:36] you [03:12:40] my name is catherine i'm from minnesota [03:12:42] i go to a small christian school and so [03:12:45] i was wondering what would your advice [03:12:47] be because a lot of my friends share um [03:12:49] christian values biblical values for [03:12:51] things like abortion but they're not [03:12:53] really [03:12:54] interested or as passionate maybe as i [03:12:56] am because they don't want to get into [03:12:58] the divisiveness of it i'm kind of [03:13:00] coming from the idea that jesus is first [03:13:03] which i can't disagree with because that [03:13:05] is for my life but how can i also [03:13:07] encourage them that this is how we can [03:13:09] fight for um spreading the truth of the [03:13:11] gospel as well that's a phenomenal [03:13:13] question so [03:13:14] we have tp usa faith that we launched [03:13:16] last year to [03:13:19] to help answer this question all right [03:13:21] so let me kind of just uh add some [03:13:23] context to this we have people of all [03:13:25] different faiths and backgrounds here [03:13:26] and people of no faith and you're all [03:13:28] welcome here at turning point usa we're [03:13:30] all in the fight for liberty i'm very [03:13:32] open about my faith it's the most [03:13:33] important thing in my life i give my [03:13:35] life to christ in fifth grade and it's [03:13:37] the greatest thing a human being can do [03:13:40] so that's the most important thing [03:13:41] number one so my life's work is involved [03:13:44] in the second most important thing which [03:13:46] is to make sure you could do the most [03:13:48] the first thing to make sure you could [03:13:49] have church to make sure that you can [03:13:51] have religious conscience to make sure [03:13:53] you can live in a free society where [03:13:54] you're able to worship your creator and [03:13:57] be able to spread the gospel and so this [03:14:00] is the tension point which is some [03:14:01] christians will say that nowhere in the [03:14:03] bible are there examples of people [03:14:05] trying to influence government or trying [03:14:07] to influence secular government for [03:14:09] god's purpose well they're gonna have to [03:14:10] explain esther mordecai nehemiah [03:14:12] jeremiah daniel and joseph but that's a [03:14:14] separate issue [03:14:16] because all throughout the scriptures [03:14:18] there are heroes that we elevate of [03:14:21] god's chosen people trying to influence [03:14:22] secular government and then also i would [03:14:24] encourage you to kind of present to them [03:14:26] jeremiah 29 7. people talk a lot about [03:14:28] jeremiah 29 11. but jeremiah 29 7 is a [03:14:31] verse where it says demand the welfare [03:14:34] for the nation that you are in because [03:14:35] your welfare is tied to your nation's [03:14:37] welfare that's the lord speaking [03:14:39] and that is that is god saying that you [03:14:41] should care about your country [03:14:43] that you should care about your nation [03:14:45] so the question then is well how should [03:14:47] i care about it as a christian because [03:14:49] it just seems so [03:14:50] unclear well that's kind of i think [03:14:52] there's pretty three easy issues that [03:14:54] christians can all agree on [03:14:56] the church is essential and should never [03:14:57] be shut down or locked down again by any [03:14:59] government or bureaucrat [03:15:02] number two life begins at conception and [03:15:04] every single life is worthy of [03:15:05] protection [03:15:07] and number three god created man and god [03:15:09] created woman and we're not overthinking [03:15:10] it it's that simple right [03:15:12] so [03:15:14] hopefully they'll be able to agree on [03:15:15] part of it but you mention an [03:15:17] interesting and interesting thing which [03:15:18] is they do not want to engage in the [03:15:20] divisiveness [03:15:22] well they should they should read parts [03:15:24] of luke where jesus said i did not come [03:15:25] to unite but i came to divide and i'm [03:15:27] going to turn father against son and i'm [03:15:29] going to turn brother against brother [03:15:31] look here's the harsh part of the gospel [03:15:34] that people don't always want to talk [03:15:35] about and that's right i said harsh [03:15:36] which is that if you believe in the [03:15:38] gospel you also believe in damnation [03:15:41] and you believe in truth we want we want [03:15:43] the truth for all people [03:15:45] but if somehow there's been this kind of [03:15:48] kind of whitewashing of somehow i can't [03:15:51] say anything that's going to offend [03:15:52] anybody [03:15:53] well you know if you kind of dive deeper [03:15:55] into like hey if you don't accept your [03:15:57] life as christ it's not going to work [03:15:59] out very well for you in eternity what [03:16:01] we really have to challenge your friends [03:16:03] with which is how exactly is the gospel [03:16:05] not divisive [03:16:08] it's it's so clear it says you i mean [03:16:10] whether it be the treatment of children [03:16:12] or not accepting jesus as the lord and [03:16:13] savior [03:16:14] it's [03:16:15] you know for god so loved the world [03:16:18] for he said his one and only begotten [03:16:19] son for what it does not believe in him [03:16:20] shall not perish that's pretty harsh [03:16:23] but perishing in the verse that many of [03:16:25] us identify as the most hopeful verse in [03:16:26] the bible [03:16:27] but the final thing i'll say is this is [03:16:29] god's heart for his children both in an [03:16:31] earthly way an eternal way is for us to [03:16:33] live in liberty and not to live under [03:16:35] tyranny it is a story of exodus it's the [03:16:38] story of jesus the truth will set us [03:16:40] free and i believe it's also our mission [03:16:42] here part of our mission to make sure [03:16:44] that we do not live under dictatorship [03:16:47] authoritarianism or centralized control [03:16:49] god wants us to live free thank you [03:16:54] okay we'll do two more [03:16:58] my name is sally i'm from katy texas and [03:17:00] i want to say [03:17:02] god bless america and let's make america [03:17:05] great again and thank you for being here [03:17:07] awesome [03:17:08] thank you do you have a question no okay [03:17:10] all right all right we'll take two more [03:17:13] someone wants to get in line really [03:17:14] quick [03:17:15] okay there you go that's it the taker [03:17:17] has come okay hi i'm elise i'm from san [03:17:20] antonio texas [03:17:21] [Applause] [03:17:22] i am also a lifelong homeschooler and [03:17:26] i was wondering what advice would you [03:17:28] give to someone who is still figuring [03:17:29] out what they would like to do [03:17:30] career-wise and i mean like a business [03:17:33] who has so many passions and interests [03:17:34] would you like recommend a micro [03:17:36] approach where you choose something that [03:17:37] you know makes money and you have time [03:17:39] to pursue interests or start a business [03:17:42] that has something to do with your [03:17:43] passion and monetize that somehow i [03:17:46] might give you a piece of advice you [03:17:47] haven't heard what's your skill what are [03:17:48] you good at [03:17:50] um i'm journalism writing photography [03:17:52] music kind of that which of your skills [03:17:55] do you also have a passion for [03:17:57] all of them okay good [03:17:59] so my passion is not directly correlated [03:18:01] with my skill if it was up to me i would [03:18:04] just do college football all day long [03:18:06] non-stop and that's it [03:18:08] not exactly my skill okay i mean i know [03:18:10] a little i know enough to be dangerous [03:18:12] about it but i found something i was [03:18:14] good at [03:18:15] communication speaking and also [03:18:17] something i had a passion for so the [03:18:18] intersection of your passion and skill [03:18:20] is gonna be your purpose [03:18:22] and that's something where because [03:18:23] sometimes you have to realize your [03:18:25] passion is not something you're very [03:18:27] good at people say follow your passion [03:18:29] terrible advice awful advice follow your [03:18:32] passion that you actually are above [03:18:33] average at as well right that's that [03:18:36] that's that's the advice i would give to [03:18:37] you so this is why i'm not a fan of [03:18:39] college is because when you're 18 19 and [03:18:42] 20 that's when you should be going to [03:18:44] ask people that are good at what they're [03:18:45] doing and figuring out if it's actually [03:18:47] something you're passionate about [03:18:48] because you might think you're [03:18:49] passionate about it because you took a [03:18:51] journalism one-on-one course you're like [03:18:52] man this is terrible good if you find [03:18:54] out what you don't want to do when [03:18:55] you're 18 you've saved all that time of [03:18:58] not going and borrowing money and taking [03:19:00] all those classes finding out what you [03:19:02] don't want to do is really really [03:19:03] powerful and great so and i'll just [03:19:05] reinforce that if you do not know what [03:19:07] you want to do with your life [03:19:09] find something you're good at and [03:19:10] something that you're passionate about [03:19:12] and then find somebody who's already [03:19:13] established in that career and go look [03:19:16] at them in the eyes and say can i work [03:19:17] for you for free i will clean the floors [03:19:19] i will bring you coffee and guess what [03:19:22] they will be so blown away because of [03:19:23] the lack of hunger and drive [03:19:25] in the world they'll be like yeah sure [03:19:28] and guess what after six months if you [03:19:30] really apply yourself and you show up [03:19:32] early you will be further ahead in that [03:19:35] particular company 99 of the time than [03:19:38] the kids that just graduated from ut and [03:19:39] texas tech 99 of the time [03:19:42] because here's what's going to happen [03:19:44] month 4 month five month six someone's [03:19:47] gonna not show up to work and an opening [03:19:49] will happen they're like hey you've been [03:19:50] doing a good job can you fill in for a [03:19:52] second and that will be your time then [03:19:53] all of a sudden step up and they're like [03:19:55] all right i could just hire you and now [03:19:58] this is a step right that's a leap of [03:19:59] faith [03:20:00] because [03:20:01] as we talked about right um some parents [03:20:04] say got to have the piece of paper to do [03:20:05] that i'm an employer right we employ 400 [03:20:08] plus people at turning point usa a piece [03:20:10] of paper means nothing to me i care [03:20:12] about your character your drive and your [03:20:13] integrity [03:20:14] and i think that's what employers are [03:20:16] going to be looking more and more for [03:20:17] thank you [03:20:18] all right last question [03:20:20] hi i'm reagan i'm from colorado springs [03:20:22] and i was just wondering [03:20:24] as like a young adult a teenager how do [03:20:26] i assert myself into the political world [03:20:30] and kind of like get into it more [03:20:33] i guess and become a character in it [03:20:35] so [03:20:36] start a turning point usa chapter number [03:20:38] one number two go to the beautiful [03:20:40] church in colorado springs they do an [03:20:42] amazing job is it fervent or brave [03:20:45] fervent church they're in colorado [03:20:47] springs they'd love to talk to you in [03:20:48] the back of the room they're an amazing [03:20:50] church spoke there we had a packed event [03:20:52] but here's the thing look [03:20:54] in it's kind of a recurring theme that [03:20:56] i'm gonna kind of put forward at turning [03:20:58] point usa there's a multitude of [03:21:00] opportunities to get engaged get [03:21:01] involved start a chapter you become a [03:21:03] leader all these amazing things but also [03:21:05] just speaking out and learning how to [03:21:08] articulate your beliefs at a younger age [03:21:10] is really important like the lunch table [03:21:12] conversations or the conversations with [03:21:14] your friends because you're going to [03:21:16] hear arguments that you might not have [03:21:17] heard here's the cool thing though at [03:21:19] turning point usa in our library of [03:21:21] podcasts and videos there is not an [03:21:23] argument from the left that we have not [03:21:24] heard that we can't help you with and as [03:21:27] you kind of grow and you're like wow [03:21:29] that's an interesting argument i want to [03:21:30] be you will grow stronger you'll grow [03:21:32] wiser and guess what the other side as [03:21:35] time moves on they don't have those kind [03:21:38] they do not sharpen their arguments as [03:21:40] they get older they just repeat the [03:21:42] problem over and over again where so [03:21:45] many of you like as you start to dive [03:21:47] deep you're like oh yeah i know how to [03:21:48] respond to that or i know how to respond [03:21:50] to this and you become a better activist [03:21:52] and a better communicator but the [03:21:54] younger you get involved in my personal [03:21:56] opinion the better and it's a leap of [03:21:59] faith but there's a great community that [03:22:00] would love to support you in colorado [03:22:01] springs and you start that turning point [03:22:03] chapter it'll change your life so [03:22:07] i'm sorry we gotta we're i'm sorry thank [03:22:09] you we're good thank you all right close [03:22:11] this and then we have a very special [03:22:13] speaker coming up [03:22:16] so [03:22:17] we'll close out the conference in married to one day we don't know but [03:24:03] it gives you a chance to meet someone [03:24:05] who's like-minded it is launching [03:24:06] nationally this summer we want you to [03:24:09] join we crazy the other [03:24:23] night i went out with this guy and i was [03:24:24] like what are your thoughts on kids and [03:24:26] he said i'm not gonna have any kids i [03:24:29] feel like it's the worst thing you can [03:24:30] do for the environment [03:24:32] yeah that's when i knew it wasn't gonna [03:24:33] work out you know i had a similar [03:24:35] experience this guy seemed normal on his [03:24:37] profile but when we went out he asked oh [03:24:40] do you mind paying i left my gift card [03:24:43] in my other fanny pack [03:24:45] [Music] [03:24:48] i didn't even get to go on my out [03:25:02] with normal guys [03:25:12] good [03:25:15] [Music] [03:25:27] let me just say welcome to the twilight [03:25:29] zone folks because that's what we've [03:25:31] just watched [03:25:32] you had a president totally aloof from [03:25:34] the american people it is the twilight [03:25:35] zone [03:25:36] he touted a year of enormous progress no [03:25:39] one believes that [03:25:40] we need to change [03:25:47] [Music] [03:25:52] [Applause] [03:25:53] [Music] [03:26:00] [Music] [03:26:01] [Applause] [03:26:02] hi everyone how are you all doing [03:26:08] it is amazing to be here i have come to [03:26:11] ywls for years [03:26:14] and i always say this is my favorite [03:26:16] speaking event and you know that it's [03:26:18] true because when i go to sas and when i [03:26:20] go to america fest i tell them that ywls [03:26:23] is my favorite [03:26:25] i [03:26:26] truly [03:26:27] i see a lot of myself and you guys and [03:26:30] turning point usa [03:26:32] what i would have done to have an [03:26:34] organization like this when i was your [03:26:36] age i [03:26:37] i was this kid with a rolling backpack [03:26:39] going to debate tournaments i i like [03:26:41] posed as a cheerleader trying to barely [03:26:43] made the team surely by the art of [03:26:45] debate with a coach [03:26:47] but i was barely a cheerleader i love [03:26:49] debate i love my little rolling backpack [03:26:51] with all my files that's who i was and i [03:26:53] did not have an outlet to go [03:26:56] and i had no clue until i went to [03:26:57] georgetown which is a highly politically [03:26:59] motivated school that there were other [03:27:01] people like me [03:27:03] and when i look at all of you i see [03:27:05] myself i really do [03:27:07] and know whatever you want to do in life [03:27:08] politics media and a related field you [03:27:12] can achieve it because i was just where [03:27:14] you are i just didn't have turning point [03:27:16] usa as an outlet so what charlie kirk [03:27:19] has done he's given every young person [03:27:21] across this country a venue to celebrate [03:27:24] conservatism [03:27:26] celebrate faith to celebrate the values [03:27:28] that we hold dear that unfortunately are [03:27:30] not celebrated on a lot of our campuses [03:27:32] right [03:27:35] well since my first ywls years ago a lot [03:27:38] has changed in my life i had the [03:27:41] pleasure of working for [03:27:43] the greatest president of my lifetime [03:27:45] president donald j trump [03:27:50] but since that time a lot more has [03:27:53] changed and namely what has changed are [03:27:56] the questions that the white house press [03:27:58] corps has been asking i don't know if [03:28:00] you watch the briefings i don't blame [03:28:01] you if you don't i watch them on your [03:28:03] behalf and i barely watch them but i [03:28:05] watch them so you don't have to [03:28:07] and i brought you some of the questions [03:28:09] from one of the briefings with jensaki [03:28:12] this is a few of the briefings actually [03:28:14] it's saturday this is not saturday night [03:28:16] live these are real questions [03:28:19] that the hardcore white house press [03:28:21] corps decided to ask her [03:28:24] could you just give us some color about [03:28:26] what it was like for joe biden going [03:28:28] into the oval office he's been waiting [03:28:30] for this for so long what was his [03:28:32] reaction [03:28:34] never got a question like that i would [03:28:35] have loved it never did will he keep [03:28:38] donald trump's air force one color [03:28:39] scheme changed sure all of america was [03:28:42] wondering so thank you for asking white [03:28:44] house press for [03:28:46] can you clarify for us what happened [03:28:48] with the president's dogs there's been [03:28:49] some reports that one of them was [03:28:51] involved in a biting incident [03:28:53] to which jim saki said there was just [03:28:56] one bite but apparently we learned there [03:28:57] were multiple bites i'm not sure why you [03:28:59] would mislead on something as innocuous [03:29:01] as a dog bite question but she did and [03:29:03] then my personal favorite how about the [03:29:05] white house cat that was a question [03:29:08] rewind [03:29:10] here's what they asked me let me ask if [03:29:13] i can kaylee why does the president keep [03:29:15] hiring people who are dumb as a rock [03:29:17] overrated way over their heads wacko and [03:29:19] incompetent [03:29:20] so you've used the phrase warriors to [03:29:22] describe everyday americans fighting the [03:29:25] pandemic the president's using that [03:29:26] phrase as well what was his thinking [03:29:28] behind the description and is that [03:29:30] basically asking americans to put [03:29:32] themselves in harm's way harm's way like [03:29:34] warriors do [03:29:36] no i think he's just praising the [03:29:37] american people fighting through a [03:29:38] once-in-a-generation pandemic but okay [03:29:44] and then there's this question i went [03:29:45] back and looked at my reaction you see [03:29:46] me flipping through my binder like this [03:29:48] and i stop [03:29:49] and i look up and my mouth kind of falls [03:29:52] ajar a little bit because the question i [03:29:54] was asked was does president trump [03:29:55] believe it was a good thing that the [03:29:57] south lost the civil war [03:30:01] they say there's no such thing as a dumb [03:30:03] question but that my friends is a very [03:30:06] dumb question [03:30:11] so i grew up in a small town called [03:30:13] plant city florida it is the strawberry [03:30:15] capital of the world [03:30:17] is there anyone for plant city that's [03:30:19] there's some cheers back there [03:30:20] uh but it's a great town and i never [03:30:23] envisioned i would go from this tiny [03:30:25] little town [03:30:26] to the white house press podium it was a [03:30:29] little surreal because i was a white [03:30:30] house intern during the bush [03:30:32] administration i was in the office of [03:30:33] media affairs and i remember going to a [03:30:36] press briefing [03:30:37] standing in the back of the room just [03:30:39] this young intern and watching dana [03:30:41] parino take questions [03:30:43] and i she's fantastic [03:30:45] and i never knew that ten years later [03:30:48] roughly that i would be the one taking [03:30:49] questions behind the podium but that's [03:30:52] the plan that god had for my life and [03:30:55] happened pretty sporadically i will say [03:30:57] it happened during lockdown so i covered [03:31:00] 19 hits the country [03:31:01] i was the campaign press secretary for [03:31:04] the president at the time and you know i [03:31:06] was traveling the country my mom was [03:31:08] with me my little daughter blake she was [03:31:10] only a few months old and i'm going to [03:31:12] new hampshire to south carolina [03:31:14] all across the country all the places [03:31:16] you'd think of in a campaign iowa and in [03:31:18] an instant everything shuts down so i [03:31:21] locked down in florida not a bad place [03:31:23] to shut down you got the beach there [03:31:25] and we are driving in the car my mom's [03:31:28] driving i'm in the back seat my [03:31:30] daughter's right here and i get a phone [03:31:32] call and the phone call is an odd series [03:31:35] of numbers it was like [03:31:37] 6 3 4 2 or something like that and i [03:31:39] knew that when you get this weird series [03:31:41] of numbers it's the white house [03:31:43] switchboard and it's likely the [03:31:44] president of the united states [03:31:46] it's kind of a misunderstanding people [03:31:48] think if you're on the campaign you must [03:31:49] know the president so well but not [03:31:51] really we had interacted a little bit [03:31:53] before he would go on the rally stage in [03:31:55] fact charlie kirk was at one of the [03:31:57] rallies with me we got to hang out with [03:31:58] him a little bit that was very cool that [03:32:00] was back when i was with the campaign [03:32:02] but i didn't know him very well and at [03:32:04] that time i get this call i'd talk to [03:32:06] him on the phone maybe four times total [03:32:08] in my life [03:32:10] get this call [03:32:11] and i thought you know he's going to say [03:32:12] good job on tv or great job with that [03:32:14] article but instead president trump says [03:32:16] to me kaylee i have a question i said [03:32:18] what's that [03:32:20] do you want to be my white house press [03:32:21] secretary [03:32:23] i'm like whoa [03:32:27] you know without hesitation i say mr [03:32:29] president that would be the honor of my [03:32:31] lifetime to which he responded something [03:32:33] like mark get it done and i was like [03:32:35] mark meadows go get this done [03:32:37] um and mark did get it done and i will [03:32:40] say you know i was very nervous one [03:32:42] leaving my daughter behind [03:32:44] which i will say this as a side note i [03:32:46] was just backstage and and i had someone [03:32:48] say to me that a lot of you were asking [03:32:50] about work-life balance and i'll say [03:32:51] this you know i got this job on the [03:32:53] campaign trail and i thought [03:32:56] what better time you're now the national [03:32:58] press secretary for donald trump's [03:32:59] campaign what better time to have a baby [03:33:01] than right now before you hit the [03:33:03] campaign trail um i intentionally got [03:33:06] pregnant and i thought you know what i'm [03:33:08] gonna make both work so for those of you [03:33:10] in the audience who have a desire in [03:33:12] your heart to be a wife and to be a [03:33:13] mother and have a desire in your heart [03:33:15] to pursue a career if you so choose just [03:33:18] know they're not mutually exclusive if [03:33:20] you want to do both you can do both i'm [03:33:22] a living testament to that and you can [03:33:24] do it too [03:33:28] the part of being a working mom is the [03:33:30] nerves that come with it i'm leaving my [03:33:31] daughter behind in a global pandemic in [03:33:34] florida i'm going up to the swamp i have [03:33:36] no clue when i'll see her next [03:33:38] and i grew nervous about that and i [03:33:40] remember holding her she was just five [03:33:42] months old i'm looking down at her and [03:33:44] i'm crying because i know it's one of [03:33:45] the last times i'll hold her and my [03:33:47] tears are falling on her little body it [03:33:49] was in that moment when she lit up with [03:33:51] her very first smile and i it was very [03:33:54] sweet and i knew it was god's way of [03:33:56] saying kaylee there's something i want [03:33:58] you to go do and it was blake's way [03:33:59] unbeknownst to her of saying [03:34:01] mommy go do this [03:34:03] but mommy was very nervous and my [03:34:06] husband we loaded up in his truck and we [03:34:08] decided to drive up from florida to dc [03:34:11] we didn't want to be seen on a plane i [03:34:12] thought if the press saw me they'd be [03:34:14] like kaylee caught on a plane [03:34:16] endangering the president during coven [03:34:17] you know that would be their headline of [03:34:19] course so we're like we'll drive up so [03:34:21] we drove up and i'm riding up the [03:34:23] corridor of the east coast [03:34:25] and i'm nervous i'm reading academic [03:34:27] journal articles about how to be a good [03:34:29] press secretary [03:34:30] i mean what whoa that's like pretty [03:34:32] crazy i'm calling former press [03:34:35] secretaries i'm calling people in the [03:34:36] administration trying to figure out how [03:34:38] best to do the job [03:34:40] it was in that moment that my dad texted [03:34:42] me kaylee maybe you were made for such a [03:34:44] time as this [03:34:53] those are wise words from the book of [03:34:55] esther and sometimes when god wants to [03:34:57] send you a message he will send you the [03:35:00] same exact message twice or three times [03:35:02] and sometimes through very different [03:35:04] people you know my dad's about as [03:35:05] conservative as you can get [03:35:07] van jones of cnn is about as liberal as [03:35:10] you can get it was van jones who texted [03:35:12] me a few weeks into my job kaylee maybe [03:35:14] you were made for such a time as this [03:35:16] and i knew god wanted me to hear that i [03:35:18] think it's a message he wants us all to [03:35:19] hear his message meant for each of us [03:35:21] that we can rise to the moment that he [03:35:23] has a plan for us [03:35:25] and that was indeed the case for me [03:35:27] my first day [03:35:29] thank you my first day [03:35:30] april 13th 2020 never forget it i walk [03:35:33] the perimeter of the white house which [03:35:35] is very long for those of you who have [03:35:37] done it [03:35:38] it's pouring rain you know i'm all [03:35:40] dressed up it's my first day i'm excited [03:35:42] to go to the white house pouring rain i [03:35:44] show up like i have pants on and water [03:35:47] like up to my knees and sitting in the [03:35:49] press secretary's office taking this in [03:35:51] in total and complete disbelief [03:35:53] that i've just gotten this opportunity [03:35:55] and i don't know how the day will [03:35:57] progress i don't know what it holds and [03:35:59] i randomly get a call but later in the [03:36:01] day from the chief of staff mark meadows [03:36:03] kaylee come to the oval office [03:36:05] it was quite a moment for me because i'd [03:36:07] never been in the oval office and even [03:36:09] though i was an intern i'd seen it from [03:36:10] outside but i'd never been inside and [03:36:12] think about it the first time [03:36:14] walking in the oval office to brief the [03:36:16] president of the united states before a [03:36:18] coronavirus task force briefing you [03:36:20] remember those three things it was like [03:36:22] the president and fauci and fauci would [03:36:24] always contradict the president and you [03:36:26] know it's high stakes moment going into [03:36:28] brief the president for something like [03:36:30] that [03:36:31] so i walk in [03:36:32] and i pass this [03:36:34] grandfather mahogany clock and i go onto [03:36:37] the sunbeam pattern rug it's from the [03:36:39] reagan administration i sit on this gold [03:36:41] couch and it's across from the resolute [03:36:43] desks the resolute desk was given to the [03:36:45] united states in 1880 by queen victoria [03:36:48] it's that desk where you can see that [03:36:49] little opening with that iconic picture [03:36:51] of jfk junior crawling through the [03:36:53] bottom we all know so it's that desk [03:36:55] that i know i'm sitting across from [03:36:57] president comes in and when you're his [03:36:59] press secretary you have to learn how do [03:37:02] i brief the president of the united [03:37:03] states he has his patterns he has his [03:37:05] habits how do i fit into that how do i [03:37:07] be a productive part of the equation so [03:37:09] i'm watching him [03:37:11] and he has his introductory notes and [03:37:13] rather than focusing on the question and [03:37:15] answer that would come from snakes like [03:37:17] jim acosta [03:37:19] he's focusing on his intro remarks and [03:37:21] and they're in a binder just like this [03:37:23] small binder and and slip covers and i [03:37:25] watch him and he's flipping through the [03:37:27] pages and he would take a sharpie and [03:37:29] he'd cross parts out [03:37:30] and if he didn't like the parts he would [03:37:32] rip it off and then if he didn't like [03:37:34] the part one time i saw him take [03:37:35] scissors and just cut the part off he [03:37:36] didn't like and i'm instead of saying to [03:37:38] his aides like go retype this he he [03:37:40] really was a a person who liked to do [03:37:43] things himself and he took his own [03:37:44] initiative to do that but i thought to [03:37:47] myself how do i prep him for questions [03:37:49] and i said as he's going out to the [03:37:51] briefing room i go mr president i know [03:37:53] we're going to be asked and he said [03:37:54] what's that kaylee and i said dr falchi [03:37:57] went out on television and he said [03:37:59] something that the media is going nuts [03:38:00] with he's saying if he mitigated sooner [03:38:02] with covet it it might have saved more [03:38:04] lives and we mitigated as soon as we [03:38:07] could as soon as we knew this virus was [03:38:08] here so it's being spun out of context [03:38:10] and he said [03:38:11] kaylee how would you answer that and i [03:38:13] said i would say this on january 6th of [03:38:16] 2020 you issued a travel notice for [03:38:19] covin 19 there was not a single [03:38:21] confirmed coveted case in the country [03:38:24] not a single confirmed coveted case on [03:38:26] january 17th you did early screenings at [03:38:29] three major airports january 21st [03:38:32] there's only one coveted case in the [03:38:34] country you opened an emergency [03:38:36] operations center and on january 31st [03:38:39] not a single death from covet 19 [03:38:42] you issued a travel ban on china the one [03:38:44] your opponent joe biden called [03:38:45] xenophobic he looked at me [03:38:49] and he says go type that up [03:38:52] so i run back to my office i type it up [03:38:55] i watch him go out there [03:38:57] and unlike the current president of the [03:38:59] united states [03:39:00] my boss did not need notes my boss did [03:39:04] not need an ordered list of reporters to [03:39:06] call on [03:39:14] because my boss was the [03:39:15] commander-in-chief and my boss was fully [03:39:17] with it [03:39:18] but that day and that day alone first [03:39:21] day of my job in the white house was the [03:39:23] only day i saw him take that timeline [03:39:26] and read it verbatim and i thought to [03:39:28] myself you know job well done on the [03:39:30] first day until many months later i [03:39:32] realized i think he just did that [03:39:33] because it was my first day [03:39:35] but nevertheless it was a very good [03:39:37] moment for me [03:39:38] um you know i came into the job not [03:39:40] knowing if i would ever give a press [03:39:42] briefing it had been 400 days since a [03:39:45] press secretary had ever given a [03:39:47] briefing i didn't know if i'd be asked [03:39:48] to do that but out of nowhere one day [03:39:52] president says to me kaylee do a [03:39:54] briefing and i'm like do a briefing okay [03:39:56] i got to get a notebook together i got [03:39:57] to figure this out i need a binder any [03:39:58] tabs all this [03:40:00] i was like i need a few weeks here i [03:40:01] didn't say that but i thought it and i [03:40:03] told my staff and i'm like he'll give me [03:40:04] some time and then he said later in the [03:40:06] day kaylee do a briefing i'm like okay [03:40:08] keep saying this over and over it's like [03:40:10] on a wednesday then on a thursday he [03:40:13] says kaylee do a briefing and do it [03:40:14] before the weekend [03:40:16] okay we're going to do this on friday so [03:40:20] put together this notebook with my team [03:40:22] and the binder became a subject of [03:40:24] interest to reporters they actually had [03:40:26] a camera over my shoulder [03:40:28] they would take pictures of the binder [03:40:30] they would try to decode the tabs they [03:40:32] actually had a cnn headline decoding the [03:40:34] mysteries of kaylee mcinenny's briefing [03:40:36] binder [03:40:38] and i thought we would do a head fake [03:40:39] one day and instead of like therapeutics [03:40:42] vaccine [03:40:43] cdc whatever the topics were we would do [03:40:45] jim acosta caitlyn collins john carl all [03:40:48] the reporters names [03:40:50] did not do it that was a very big regret [03:40:52] we did not do it [03:40:54] but we worked hard before that first [03:40:56] briefing my whole team we stayed in the [03:40:57] office until about 10 pm i went home i [03:41:00] studied the binder till about midnight [03:41:02] went to bed but more important than all [03:41:04] of the academic preparation i did was [03:41:07] the spiritual preparation i woke up the [03:41:10] next morning i listened to a joyce meyer [03:41:12] sermon about faith over fear [03:41:15] she's wonderful [03:41:17] i listened to christian music and i [03:41:19] tweeted out i can do all things through [03:41:21] christ who strengthens me philippians 4 [03:41:23] 13. [03:41:27] and i get to the white house the next [03:41:29] day you know i've done everything i need [03:41:30] to do [03:41:31] but i began to worry i began to get [03:41:33] nervous it's only natural and my [03:41:35] predecessor sarah sanders she texted me [03:41:37] that day and she sent me pieces of [03:41:39] advice and her final piece of advice was [03:41:42] this most importantly pray [03:41:44] let god carry you through the tough [03:41:45] times give you strength when you don't [03:41:47] have any wisdom [03:41:49] and she told me she read her jesus [03:41:51] calling devotional every single day [03:41:53] before her briefing [03:41:55] and i i said i would carry on that [03:41:57] tradition she sent me her jesus calling [03:41:59] devotional from exactly two years prior [03:42:02] may 1st 2018 my first briefing was may [03:42:04] 1st 2020 and her devotional said this [03:42:07] you are on the path of my choosing there [03:42:09] is no randomness about your life as you [03:42:11] give yourself more and more to a life of [03:42:13] constant communion with me [03:42:15] you will find that you simply have no [03:42:17] time to worry [03:42:19] but i worried worried a lot that day [03:42:22] to the point of being in tears in my [03:42:23] office so 2 p.m i'm supposed to be at [03:42:25] the podium i am crying in my office [03:42:28] my assistant runs in you can't be crying [03:42:30] you got to stop this i'm going to put [03:42:32] your parents on speaker phone so she got [03:42:33] him on speaker phone [03:42:35] we prayed together i went to the private [03:42:37] west wing bathroom i got on my knees and [03:42:39] i said a prayer and i went back to the [03:42:42] oval office dining room it's just off [03:42:44] the oval office and president trump was [03:42:45] there jared kushner mark meadows vice [03:42:48] president mike pence was there he [03:42:50] motioned towards me with praying hands [03:42:52] said he'd been praying for me [03:42:54] and when i walked to that podium i kid [03:42:56] you not i had gone from tears in my [03:42:58] office to a total and complete serenity [03:43:01] that was inexplicable by anything i did [03:43:03] and i can tell you why i felt that [03:43:05] serenity like i had been there my whole [03:43:07] life it is because christians across [03:43:10] this country probably some of you prayed [03:43:12] for this administration and i want to [03:43:14] personally thank you because those of [03:43:16] you who prayed for us [03:43:18] we felt it and i felt it that day and i [03:43:20] want to thank you for that [03:43:21] [Applause] [03:43:32] but i've not just seen christ's work in [03:43:34] my professional life i've also seen him [03:43:36] work in my personal life [03:43:38] um i had a health challenge growing up i [03:43:41] had the bracato genetic mutation i still [03:43:44] have it it's a gene that puts you at [03:43:46] about an 84 risk of breast cancer and a [03:43:48] 23 risk of ovarian cancer [03:43:51] and it was in october of 2009 that a [03:43:54] doctor looked at my mom and said you [03:43:56] should take this test to see if you have [03:43:57] this gene i was a senior in in college [03:44:00] at the time and he said i can pretty [03:44:02] much tell you you likely have this gene [03:44:04] or a gene because we had eight extended [03:44:06] ants in my family that had breast cancer [03:44:09] so my mom takes this test [03:44:11] i [03:44:12] go in you know i talk to her she she's [03:44:14] positive for this gene she immediately [03:44:16] decided and this is not every woman's [03:44:18] choice but it was her choice to have a [03:44:20] preventative double mastectomy that [03:44:22] would remove her breast tissue [03:44:24] it was considered a very radical choice [03:44:26] at the time though her doctor encouraged [03:44:28] it but at 2009 this was before angelina [03:44:30] jolie had come out with her story of [03:44:32] having a similar gene and making the [03:44:34] same decision so when my mom did this a [03:44:37] lot of people didn't understand there [03:44:38] were people in the community questioning [03:44:40] what she did there were people in my [03:44:41] family saying are you sure you want to [03:44:42] do this but she decided she was resolute [03:44:45] that she wanted to have this surgery [03:44:47] and i remember showing up in her [03:44:48] hospital room after having the surgery [03:44:50] and looking at her and she looks so [03:44:52] frail and so gaunt and weak [03:44:55] but this weakness that i saw physically [03:44:57] really belied this internal strength [03:44:59] that she had to make a decision that was [03:45:01] best for her that was best for her [03:45:03] health despite the pressure of some [03:45:06] and i looked at her and i thought wow [03:45:08] that that is a strong person that is a [03:45:10] strong woman that is someone who made a [03:45:12] decision and i want to make a decision [03:45:14] right now and i want to go take this [03:45:16] test so i left my mom's hospital room [03:45:17] and i decided to take this test and it [03:45:20] was christmas eve when i got the phone [03:45:21] call [03:45:22] out of nowhere you know i'm just a [03:45:24] college kid waking up late ready for [03:45:26] christmas [03:45:27] and [03:45:28] unknown number calls my phone and i [03:45:29] decide to answer and it's my doctor [03:45:32] waking me up and my doctor said you know [03:45:34] i regret to inform you that you've [03:45:36] tested positive for this genetic [03:45:38] mutation [03:45:39] i started crying i go downstairs and in [03:45:41] my kitchen is my dad and my dad hugged [03:45:44] me right away and he said kaylee you [03:45:47] know your weakness and now you can [03:45:49] combat it you know your weakness and now [03:45:51] you can combat it and those words stuck [03:45:53] with me [03:45:54] and for nearly a decade i did that i [03:45:57] every six months went in for ultrasounds [03:46:00] for mammograms for mris and [03:46:03] engaged in this aggressive surveillance [03:46:05] and i would go into moffitt cancer [03:46:07] hospital and cross paths with these [03:46:09] brave incredible women [03:46:11] some of whom were going through [03:46:12] chemotherapy it's about a quarter of a [03:46:13] million women a year who are affected by [03:46:16] breast cancer and i go in this room for [03:46:18] an mri or an [03:46:19] ultrasound i'd be the youngest woman in [03:46:21] the room it was mainly women who were [03:46:23] about my mom's age [03:46:25] but i passed these heroes these valiant [03:46:27] women who fight breast cancer each and [03:46:29] every day [03:46:30] luckily you know i had many false alarms [03:46:32] during those 10 years and many scary [03:46:34] moments of finding a lump or a bump here [03:46:36] or there [03:46:37] but as i wrote previously [03:46:39] my 20s had been a blessed decade free [03:46:42] from the ravages of cancer but not from [03:46:44] the prospect of it and i decided i [03:46:47] didn't want to do the surgery until i [03:46:48] found my husband i went through the [03:46:50] treacherous dating world so i empathize [03:46:52] with whoever asked that question about [03:46:54] men because [03:46:56] some men leave a lot to be desired these [03:46:58] days i will say but [03:47:00] i met an amazing man i met him on [03:47:02] twitter actually so you can meet people [03:47:04] on twitter [03:47:05] he's a great guy he's a loving husband [03:47:08] and after getting married i decided ten [03:47:10] years after finding out i have this gene [03:47:12] to do the surgery myself and it was may [03:47:14] 1st 2018 may 1st and it occurred to me [03:47:17] when i was giving a speech a few weeks [03:47:18] ago may 1st is a pretty significant day [03:47:20] of my life [03:47:21] and i didn't even realize it you know [03:47:23] having a mastectomy or doing a press [03:47:25] briefing so may 1st 2018 [03:47:28] was the day i decided to have this [03:47:29] surgery [03:47:30] i was only able to do it because of the [03:47:32] women who came before me like my mother [03:47:34] i was nervous again uh the night before [03:47:36] the doctor told me i had to stop eating [03:47:38] at midnight so i went to a hockey game [03:47:40] where i knew they had an all-you-can-eat [03:47:42] buffet like this is perfect i'm going to [03:47:44] gorge on ice cream i'm gonna gorge on [03:47:45] pizza i have to stop eating at midnight [03:47:48] so i do that and i go to bed that night [03:47:50] i journaled i was very nervous i wake up [03:47:53] the next day i get ready to go to the [03:47:54] hospital [03:47:56] and the day i had anticipated for so [03:47:58] many years for nine years had finally [03:47:59] arrived and my sister who's here [03:48:01] somewhere [03:48:02] was with me [03:48:04] when i went to go pick out my outfit for [03:48:05] my surgery and she held up a pair of [03:48:07] socks and said kaylee look at these [03:48:09] lemon socks and i said oh those are [03:48:11] amazing i have to have those and i have [03:48:13] to wear them the day of my surgery i [03:48:16] don't know if any of you have seen the [03:48:17] show this is us [03:48:18] it's a great show [03:48:20] and there's a doctor in the show [03:48:23] and a man basically is having twins his [03:48:26] wife's having twins and one of the twins [03:48:28] is lost and one survives [03:48:30] and that's as i remember it basically he [03:48:33] lost a child that day and a doctor said [03:48:34] to him i like to think that one day [03:48:36] you'll be an old man like me [03:48:38] talking a young man's ear off explaining [03:48:40] to him how you took the sourest lemons [03:48:42] that life had to offer you and you turn [03:48:45] them into something resembling lemonade [03:48:47] so i put on my women's socks i go to the [03:48:49] hospital [03:48:51] i go to do this and the only way i was [03:48:52] able to do it once again if you're [03:48:54] sensing a trend was because of my faith [03:48:56] in christ i listened to a song on my way [03:48:58] there [03:48:59] there's a mountain here before me and [03:49:00] i'm going to climb it with strength not [03:49:02] my own he's going to lead me or the [03:49:04] mountain beats me [03:49:06] carry me through carry me through [03:49:08] and when i was in the surgery room once [03:49:10] again i went from nervousness i went [03:49:12] from fear to a total and complete peace [03:49:15] it isn't that what the bible tells us [03:49:22] the bible tells us when we bring our [03:49:25] worries our anxieties to christ that he [03:49:27] will give us a peace that defies all [03:49:29] understanding and when i was in the [03:49:31] podium when i was at that hospital bed i [03:49:33] can tell you that's a piece that i've [03:49:34] experienced probably only two times in [03:49:36] my life um and the most nerve-wracking [03:49:39] moments in life but it's a piece that is [03:49:41] real [03:49:42] and when i wake up wake up from surgery [03:49:44] i look down and i was like wait i look [03:49:46] great and i looked at my mom and i go [03:49:48] that was easier than an eight oh one cnn [03:49:50] panel because i had previously been at [03:49:51] cnn being pummeled by eight people so i [03:49:54] said that surgery was much easier than [03:49:55] that uh and it was [03:49:57] and i think it's important that we share [03:49:59] these stories in our life these moments [03:50:01] in our life professionally personally uh [03:50:03] where faith carries us through because i [03:50:06] will tell you my dad said to me growing [03:50:08] up he said what's your world view and i [03:50:10] used to look at my dad and say world [03:50:12] view what do you mean world view and i [03:50:15] didn't quite know what he meant until i [03:50:17] went off to college because [03:50:19] it's college has gotten way worse by the [03:50:21] way where you guys are than where i was [03:50:23] i went to liberal schools i encountered [03:50:25] liberalism but what i see many of you [03:50:28] encountering on your college campuses it [03:50:30] defies logic it is blatant leftism it is [03:50:33] indoctrination [03:50:35] and when i went to college i brought [03:50:36] this world view with me i was a [03:50:37] christian i was a conservative these [03:50:39] were my formerly held beliefs [03:50:41] they weren't going to be changed but i [03:50:43] didn't want them to be countered [03:50:49] and so i chose to go to oxford [03:50:51] university for a year because i wanted [03:50:53] to learn the art of debate and i knew at [03:50:55] oxford i would have that opportunity [03:50:58] unlike in american universities at [03:50:59] oxford you write a paper you have to [03:51:01] read it out loud you have a tutor [03:51:03] otherwise known as a professor here in [03:51:05] america [03:51:06] and you read it out loud to the [03:51:08] professor and she or he will stop you [03:51:10] and say why did you say that what's your [03:51:12] source for that why would you ever think [03:51:15] that it's a very intimidating [03:51:17] environment i will say [03:51:19] my first tutorial is set in a graveyard [03:51:22] appropriately it was a graveyard church [03:51:24] they turned into a library and i climbed [03:51:27] this 12th century staircase this little [03:51:29] winding staircase and i get to the top [03:51:31] perch of the staircase there's my tutor [03:51:33] waiting for me [03:51:34] and i read my paper and i'm like is my [03:51:37] voice shaking right now is that how [03:51:38] scared i am and indeed my voice was [03:51:40] shaking [03:51:41] and she annihilated me literally ripped [03:51:44] me to shreds i left in tears yet again [03:51:46] if you're sensei a trend [03:51:49] left in tears [03:51:50] but that tutor [03:51:52] she had a different worldview than me [03:51:53] she was a former member of the [03:51:54] palestinian liberation organization [03:51:57] i'm a western israel loving conservative [03:52:01] christian [03:52:05] but that professor became one of my [03:52:07] favorite professors because she [03:52:09] countered my views she didn't change [03:52:11] them i still have those same views but [03:52:14] she countered them and it made me [03:52:15] stronger and it made me better because [03:52:17] what does first peter 3 15 tell us but [03:52:19] in your hearts revere christ as lord [03:52:22] always be prepared to give an answer to [03:52:24] everyone who asks you to give the reason [03:52:27] for the hope that you have but the [03:52:29] second part of that's important [03:52:34] the second part of that's very important [03:52:36] but do so with gentleness and respect [03:52:39] and that is what we need to do on our [03:52:41] college campuses we have different [03:52:43] points of view than any most people on [03:52:45] our college campuses although there are [03:52:46] a lot of silent conservatives that you [03:52:48] might not [03:52:48] realize but having grace under fire is [03:52:52] the answer how do you change hearts how [03:52:54] do you change minds having grace under [03:52:56] fire it was actually another person on [03:52:58] the left which by the way some folks on [03:53:00] on the left might end up being your [03:53:01] greatest mentors van jones was certainly [03:53:03] a mentor to me so is the late alan combs [03:53:06] there used to be a show called hannity [03:53:07] and combs and he was the counterpart to [03:53:09] hannity and he texted me one night after [03:53:11] watching me on a cnn panel he says to me [03:53:14] kaylee i want to tell you something [03:53:16] what's that he said remember don't fight [03:53:18] fire because i had a lot of fire coming [03:53:20] my way eight people the hosts yelling at [03:53:22] me don't fight fire with fire fight fire [03:53:25] with water [03:53:27] and that was such sage advice and i [03:53:29] learned to do that at oxford and i [03:53:31] learned to do that at cnn and i learned [03:53:32] to do that with hyenas like jim acosta [03:53:35] and caitlin collins and others yelling [03:53:37] at me [03:53:38] um having grace under fire and they're [03:53:40] challenging moments [03:53:42] but it's something that we're commanded [03:53:43] to do and we should do and it's [03:53:45] something that comports with biblical [03:53:46] truth proverbs 15 1 a gentle answer [03:53:49] turns away wrath but a harsh word stirs [03:53:52] up anger galatians 5 22-23 but the fruit [03:53:55] of the spirit is love joy peace [03:53:57] forbearance kindness goodness [03:53:59] faithfulness gentleness and self-control [03:54:02] against such things there is no law so [03:54:05] when you ask me how i could stand at the [03:54:07] podium i get asked all the time it's one [03:54:09] of the top questions i'm asked how could [03:54:10] you be so calm [03:54:12] when there's a playboy reporter in the [03:54:13] back corner screaming over you at all [03:54:15] times [03:54:17] and my sister who's here i got home from [03:54:19] the campaign trail one night and she [03:54:21] asked me to watch this music video it's [03:54:23] a christian music video [03:54:25] so i watch it and this is the answer to [03:54:28] why i could remain cool under pressure [03:54:30] and why you and your your college or [03:54:31] high school campuses can do likewise [03:54:34] there was another in the fire standing [03:54:36] next to me there was another in the [03:54:37] waters holding back the seas and should [03:54:40] i ever need reminding of how i've been [03:54:42] set free there is a cross that bears the [03:54:44] burden where another died for me there [03:54:47] was another in the fire [03:54:55] but now is the time for you all to be [03:54:57] bold and courageous because unlike any [03:54:59] time in my lifetime and my parents tell [03:55:01] me [03:55:02] unlike any time in their lifetime i [03:55:04] think the values that hold our country [03:55:07] together [03:55:08] are under attack and when i say the [03:55:10] values that hold our country together [03:55:11] they're in our seminal founding [03:55:13] documents life and liberty [03:55:16] at the heart when you look at all the [03:55:17] issues going on you know the economy [03:55:18] will change it will go up and down but [03:55:21] but at the heart of our country is life [03:55:23] and his liberty and those two values [03:55:26] have never been so at risk [03:55:28] than they are right now you look at the [03:55:30] issue of life we are on the cusp you've [03:55:33] seen that leaked alito opinion we'll see [03:55:35] if it ends up being the opinion and thus [03:55:37] the law of the land but the alito [03:55:39] opinion in the dobbs case would roll [03:55:41] back roe v wade which has been a great [03:55:44] scourge on our nation roe v wade when [03:55:47] you look at that opinion legalizing [03:55:48] abortion federalizing it essentially roe [03:55:51] v weighed 62 million babies have been [03:55:55] killed because of the scourge of [03:55:56] abortion in this country that is [03:55:58] one-fifth of the united states [03:56:00] population [03:56:02] 62 million people not with us their [03:56:05] potential never realized and when you [03:56:08] look at the white house jen saki was [03:56:10] asked is a 15 week old baby a baby [03:56:13] 15 weeks a baby has arms and legs baby [03:56:16] has a heartbeat a baby is moving rapidly [03:56:19] trust me i've seen the ultrasound [03:56:21] a baby's eyes are closed and the baby [03:56:23] can sense light a baby is a baby at 15 [03:56:26] weeks but the white house would not say [03:56:29] that a baby is a baby [03:56:36] we are one of seven countries in the [03:56:38] world right now one of seven [03:56:40] that allows abortion after 20 weeks [03:56:43] elective abortion [03:56:44] as john roberts pointed out to us the [03:56:47] chief justice that puts us in the good [03:56:49] company of north korea and china think [03:56:52] about that [03:56:53] america is the pariah of the world when [03:56:57] it comes to our abortion laws [03:56:59] and that might change and i hope it [03:57:01] changes [03:57:02] and when i was in church the other week [03:57:04] and this is just before that leaked [03:57:05] opinion came out i prayed that god would [03:57:07] influence the hearts and the minds of [03:57:09] these justices [03:57:11] to rule with justice with righteousness [03:57:13] in their heart with fairness and [03:57:15] according to the law [03:57:17] according to the law because [03:57:19] as lawrence tribe a liberal scholar said [03:57:22] uh this is a verbal smoke screen he's a [03:57:24] liberal he said rose a verbal [03:57:25] subsequence uh smoke screen the [03:57:27] substantive judgment of which is nowhere [03:57:29] to be found even ruth bader ginsburg the [03:57:32] late justice had criticized roe v wade [03:57:35] previously [03:57:36] um [03:57:37] polling shows that the american people [03:57:39] are on our side when it comes to [03:57:41] abortion when you look at second [03:57:42] trimester and third trimester and [03:57:44] putting us in line with the rest of the [03:57:46] western world and what it comes down to [03:57:49] is this it is not a woman's right to [03:57:52] choose it is a baby's right to live [03:58:05] that's life but you also have to [03:58:06] consider liberty religious liberty has [03:58:09] never been more under attack than it is [03:58:11] right now a great organization if you [03:58:13] want to read about the state of [03:58:14] religious liberty in our country is [03:58:16] first liberty and they call it first [03:58:18] liberty because religious liberty is [03:58:20] enshrined and our first amendment the [03:58:21] very first liberty written about in the [03:58:24] bill of rights [03:58:25] is religious liberty and religious [03:58:27] liberty when you look at a case pending [03:58:29] before the supreme court right now coach [03:58:31] kennedy versus bremerton school district [03:58:33] this is a coach and he's been fighting [03:58:35] this for years i got to meet him several [03:58:37] times actually [03:58:38] all he did was walk to the 50-yard line [03:58:41] he was a coach football coach in [03:58:43] washington [03:58:44] and neil silently he didn't say under [03:58:47] god he didn't ask the other players to [03:58:49] come pray with him now some of them [03:58:50] chose to do so on their own accord as [03:58:52] they saw him doing this but after the [03:58:54] game he walked to the 50-yard line he [03:58:57] took a knee [03:58:58] and he was fired because of it [03:59:00] his case is currently pending before the [03:59:02] supreme court looks like he's going to [03:59:04] win it another encouraging thing [03:59:12] coven 19 has tested the bounds of [03:59:14] religious liberty uh california they [03:59:16] were rebuked five times california alone [03:59:19] five times on the issue of religious [03:59:22] liberty in the most recent case tandem v [03:59:24] newsome [03:59:25] california was trying to regulate [03:59:28] private prayer gatherings in people's [03:59:30] private homes they were trying to [03:59:33] regulate that [03:59:35] but thanks to president donald j trump [03:59:37] and the justices he's appointed they [03:59:40] were stopped [03:59:45] our country's under attack right now but [03:59:47] thankfully the tides are changing [03:59:49] despite the president who as my dad said [03:59:51] is a lost ball and tall grass [03:59:55] thanks to the judiciary i'm very [03:59:56] encouraged with the direction that we're [03:59:59] going in but now more than ever with [04:00:01] these values at stake we have to speak [04:00:04] truth the truth that has happened in [04:00:06] your life um and for me i learned that [04:00:08] truth in my southern baptist church and [04:00:10] in the halls of my all-girls catholic [04:00:12] school and my faith became real to me [04:00:14] when i walked down the aisle at my [04:00:16] church and i gave my life to jesus [04:00:17] christ that's when i became a christian [04:00:20] as a young girl but it did not become [04:00:22] real to me until i had just left college [04:00:25] and i left college i'm living in new [04:00:26] york city i'm all alone i'm really [04:00:28] depressed because guys were terrible i'd [04:00:31] go on one day and they'd never call you [04:00:32] back [04:00:33] it was very lonely they say new york [04:00:35] city there are millions of people in new [04:00:37] york city but it can be the most lonely [04:00:39] place in the world despite having so [04:00:41] many people around you and i was feeling [04:00:43] that and one day in particular i was so [04:00:45] upset i was feeling depressed i was [04:00:47] feeling low [04:00:48] and so i tried to call my mom she was [04:00:50] busy doing something she didn't answer [04:00:52] i'm in my bed and i'm so upset probably [04:00:55] the lowest i've ever felt and i get a [04:00:57] call [04:00:58] unknown number [04:01:00] i decide to answer cause i'm like i'll [04:01:01] talk to anyone right now [04:01:03] i answer and they said this is the [04:01:05] journey church we feel like we need to [04:01:07] pray for you how can we pray for you [04:01:10] and that's a church i had attended a few [04:01:11] times in new york and i don't know who [04:01:14] that person was still to this day i [04:01:15] don't know that person that called me [04:01:17] but i can tell you when i cried out and [04:01:19] said i need you [04:01:21] he showed up and he showed up via [04:01:22] someone who i'll never know their name [04:01:30] but it made such a difference in my life [04:01:32] and you know during the 40 minutes we've [04:01:34] been here talking you know i've told you [04:01:35] about three calls there's the call from [04:01:37] the president of the united states [04:01:39] saying will you be my press secretary [04:01:41] pretty exciting call [04:01:43] then there's the call about the bracket [04:01:45] two genetic mutation a pretty sad call [04:01:48] knowing that i had this gene and then [04:01:50] there's a call that changed my life [04:01:51] forever from this person who i don't [04:01:53] know whoever since that moment i've [04:01:56] never had a doubt i've never had a [04:01:57] question i've just known that god is [04:01:59] real and when i've reached out to him [04:02:01] he's shown up [04:02:03] but this is my faith walk and this is my [04:02:05] story and this is my journey with my [04:02:07] savior [04:02:08] and we've got to be bold and unequivocal [04:02:11] and courageous and sharing all of our [04:02:14] stories because there is someone [04:02:20] there is someone out there who needs to [04:02:23] hear your story there is someone out [04:02:25] there who needs a call just like i did [04:02:27] in that moment and whatever you've gone [04:02:30] through in your life share that tell it [04:02:32] be bold about it with your friends and [04:02:34] your high school campuses on your [04:02:35] college campuses because make no mistake [04:02:38] luke 12 7 tells us indeed the very hairs [04:02:40] on your head are all numbered don't be [04:02:43] afraid you are worth more than many [04:02:44] sparrows think about that he knows the [04:02:47] number of hairs on your head that's how [04:02:49] special you are to him how individual [04:02:52] how unique that he knows the number of [04:02:54] hairs on your head jeremiah 1 5 before i [04:02:56] formed you in the womb i knew you before [04:02:59] you were born i set you apart before you [04:03:01] were born i set you apart i appointed [04:03:04] you as a prophet to the nations [04:03:07] we're at a crossroads we are as i've [04:03:09] said [04:03:10] um and the same way that my dad and van [04:03:13] jones said to me you were made for such [04:03:15] a time as this i want all of you to know [04:03:18] that you are here for such a time as [04:03:21] this [04:03:29] and i'm not posting on my phone right [04:03:31] now what i am doing [04:03:32] is thinking that we should end why wls [04:03:35] the same way we ended it last year do [04:03:38] any of you remember [04:03:41] yes so we're going to go live if i can [04:03:43] even remember how to do this here we go [04:03:46] let's see [04:03:47] going live [04:03:49] if i can even remember here we go [04:03:51] now this is my story what am i doing [04:03:53] [Laughter] [04:03:55] let's see guys [04:03:58] [Music] [04:04:00] go down where [04:04:06] let's see [04:04:09] does someone just someone want to come [04:04:10] up here and show me [04:04:12] i'm clearly having issues man i'm [04:04:13] getting old [04:04:15] i'm 34. [04:04:19] oh [04:04:22] we're ending it this way [04:04:27] and i do lives that's the sad part [04:04:31] here we go [04:04:32] hopefully the wi-fi works [04:04:34] we're live i think [04:04:36] we're live [04:04:40] hello everyone i just had a very blonde [04:04:42] moment up here live on stage trying to [04:04:44] start this live [04:04:46] uh but here we go i'm at ywls [04:04:49] this you're about to see [04:04:50] the most amazing group of women turning [04:04:53] point usa charlie kirk it is the only [04:04:58] organization for young people [04:05:00] conservatives amazing women this is the [04:05:03] future of our country you're about to [04:05:04] say see these are future press [04:05:06] secretaries these are future [04:05:08] commentators i think there may be a [04:05:10] future president in this room [04:05:15] so without further ado [04:05:18] meet the women of [04:05:20] ywls 2022 here we go guys [04:05:37] thank you everyone hillary didn't break [04:05:38] that glass ceiling but i think we have a [04:05:41] woman in here who might just do that [04:05:42] thank you everyone [04:05:47] thank you so much [04:05:48] [Applause] [04:05:53] [Music] [04:05:56] hi everybody [04:05:59] hi [04:06:01] thank you [04:06:02] um real quick i just wanted to say thank [04:06:04] you all for being here we all hope that [04:06:06] you guys had the most incredible time i [04:06:09] made some incredible friendships start a [04:06:11] chapter i want to thank all of our [04:06:13] turning point staff that work so hard to [04:06:15] make this happen [04:06:17] um it truly takes a village um but more [04:06:20] but i also want to to to you know thank [04:06:23] our events team especially [04:06:26] sarah and michelle and morgan if you [04:06:28] ladies want to come out here real quick [04:06:30] we've had [04:06:31] some leadership changes recently [04:06:34] morgan is our incredible strategic [04:06:36] director [04:06:37] sarah right here will be taking over my [04:06:39] previous role as admin director and [04:06:41] michelle as a senior manager so so proud [04:06:44] of you ladies thank you for everything [04:06:46] um [04:06:50] yeah [04:06:52] thank you guys all safe travels home i [04:06:53] think charlie wanted to come out and say [04:06:54] a few words as well [04:06:57] [Music] [04:06:57] [Applause] [04:06:59] [Music] [04:07:04] [Music] [04:07:14] hello okay and we have to honor lauren [04:07:17] as well should we have to honor lauren [04:07:19] you're the best good job everybody good [04:07:21] job [04:07:24] all right everybody [04:07:25] who here thought this is the best ywls [04:07:27] yet what i mean how awesome is that [04:07:30] thank you for being such amazing [04:07:33] partners and attendees the last couple [04:07:35] days it's just awesome how engaged and [04:07:38] how enthusiastic all of you are lives [04:07:40] were changed these last couple of days [04:07:42] the testimonials are just coming in we [04:07:44] love to hear your stories you can email [04:07:46] them to us and communicate to us and [04:07:48] again we want to encourage you and tell [04:07:50] you start a chapter get on your high [04:07:52] school campus get on your college campus [04:07:54] we have the staff there to help you we [04:07:56] have our student action summit coming up [04:07:58] in the end of july and i'm telling you [04:08:00] right now you look around this room [04:08:01] there's something special and magical [04:08:03] happening in our country and it's going [04:08:05] to take all of us to continue to act [04:08:08] with courage and boldness all of us [04:08:10] together and it starts with the young [04:08:13] women in this room of turning point usa [04:08:15] god bless all of you and we will see you [04:08:18] at the student action summit thank you [04:08:20] [Applause] [04:08:22] [Music] [04:08:30] i [04:08:31] don't [04:08:32] like your little game
