📄 Extracted Text (10,339 words)
[00:00:00] Yeah, there is an active shooter at
[00:00:02] Brown University. Reporting is ongoing.
[00:00:06] Um,
[00:00:07] it sounds like it's still very much uh
[00:00:11] an active crime scene and an active
[00:00:14] event and so it's unlikely that we're
[00:00:17] going to find out exactly what's going
[00:00:19] on. I wasn't obviously planning on
[00:00:21] talking about that tonight. I was
[00:00:22] planning on uh watching a whole bunch of
[00:00:24] other videos, getting some updates on
[00:00:26] Erica Kirk, some TPUSA stuff, bringing
[00:00:28] you some uh
[00:00:31] some interviews and podcasts that you
[00:00:33] might have missed that are interesting
[00:00:35] and relevant information about TPUSA
[00:00:39] um and about the whole situation. And
[00:00:41] then uh I noticed
[00:00:44] that our boy
[00:00:47] uh Agenda Free TV was on about a mass
[00:00:51] shooting at Brown University that is
[00:00:53] still so fresh that it has hardly even
[00:00:56] touched X yet. Um or at least hardly
[00:00:58] touched my X feed yet because my X feed
[00:01:01] is full of uh Israel shills uh trying to
[00:01:04] [ __ ] on me.
[00:01:07] Um,
[00:01:08] so let's get everybody caught up. We're
[00:01:11] not gonna spend the whole time talking
[00:01:12] about it, but we'll catch you up real
[00:01:15] quick.
[00:01:17] Um, Providence Police put out an alert
[00:01:19] at 3:49 p.m. today. Um,
[00:01:24] that would be two hours ago because this
[00:01:27] would be Eastern time, I believe. There
[00:01:29] is currently heavy Providence Police and
[00:01:30] Fire presence on Hope Street near Brown
[00:01:32] University. Please exercise caution and
[00:01:33] avoid this area until further notice.
[00:01:37] And then Brown U gave out put out an
[00:01:39] alert. Urgent. There's an active shooter
[00:01:41] near Baris and Holly Engineering. Lock
[00:01:45] doors, silence phones, and stay hidden
[00:01:46] until further notice. Remember, run if
[00:01:49] you are in the affected location.
[00:01:51] Evacuate safely if you can. Hide if
[00:01:52] evacuation is not possible. Take cover.
[00:01:54] Fight as a last resort. Take action to
[00:01:56] protect yourself. Stay tuned for further
[00:01:57] safety information.
[00:02:00] Um, this is a photo of the scene. An
[00:02:02] active shooter situation was reported on
[00:02:04] the campus of Brown University in Rhode
[00:02:06] Island and officials said a suspect is
[00:02:07] now in custody. We have since learned
[00:02:09] that that is not true. There is
[00:02:11] apparently no suspect in custody as of
[00:02:13] right now. Um is my understanding.
[00:02:17] 511 emergency alert. Community members
[00:02:20] are instructed to continue sheltering in
[00:02:21] place and avoid the Barus and Holly
[00:02:23] area. The Baris and Holly area. They
[00:02:26] have not yet taken a suspect into
[00:02:28] custody and are actively searching for
[00:02:29] the individual or individuals.
[00:02:32] Multiple law enforcement agencies and
[00:02:34] emergency medical personnel are on site.
[00:02:36] No one is in custody, correcting its
[00:02:38] earlier statement as police respond to
[00:02:39] an active shooter on campus.
[00:02:42] Shots were reported near Governor Street
[00:02:44] and urged everyone to continue
[00:02:45] sheltering in place as law enforcement
[00:02:46] responded.
[00:02:50] 4:33 p.m. Eastern time. That'd be an
[00:02:53] hour and a half ago. Multiple shots in
[00:02:56] the area of Brown University. This is an
[00:02:57] active investigation. Please shelter in
[00:02:59] place and avoid the area until further
[00:03:00] notice.
[00:03:03] Multiple individuals have been shot in
[00:03:04] the area near Brown University. And
[00:03:06] because the investigation is active, the
[00:03:07] public is urged to shelter in place.
[00:03:13] So yeah, they reversed
[00:03:15] the report that a suspect was in
[00:03:17] custody. And as far as we know right
[00:03:18] now, um, everyone is still at large.
[00:03:21] Chad is saying at least 20 victims so
[00:03:23] far. Are you for real?
[00:03:27] Holy moly.
[00:03:29] Um,
[00:03:31] I have not seen that yet. But we're
[00:03:34] going to pop in with our with our guy
[00:03:35] Agenda Free TV real quick for a second.
[00:03:37] I'm going to run some searches on the
[00:03:38] side here. But so much we don't know
[00:03:41] right now.
[00:03:59] But no official word from the university
[00:04:02] that a suspect is in custody.
[00:04:07] And indeed, the latest update from the
[00:04:09] university just a few minutes ago was
[00:04:11] that the situation remains ongoing.
[00:04:14] Continue to shelter in place.
[00:04:19] We'll get to the live.
[00:04:21] So, he's got police scanners going and
[00:04:23] stuff. so much we don't know right now.
[00:04:25] >> We'll check back in with him from time
[00:04:26] to time here. Um but yeah, the the
[00:04:31] update from the Brown Daily Herald,
[00:04:34] active shooter on campus, no suspects in
[00:04:36] custody. Department of Public Safety
[00:04:37] reports,
[00:04:39] at least 20 victims were reportedly shot
[00:04:42] near Barrison Holly and McMillan Hall in
[00:04:45] an active shooter incident. According to
[00:04:46] the Providence Fire Radio broadcast at a
[00:04:50] 5:27 p.m. Update from the Department of
[00:04:51] Public Safety reported shots fired near
[00:04:53] Governor Street.
[00:04:55] Um,
[00:05:11] Katie's son, aed 28, was studying in the
[00:05:13] engineering research center lobby when
[00:05:15] she heard gunshots around 4:10 p.m.
[00:05:19] She evacuated the building, leaving
[00:05:20] behind all her belongings, and ran to
[00:05:22] her dorm for safety.
[00:05:25] that
[00:05:27] okay, so that was two hours ago.
[00:05:31] Um
[00:05:34] it was honestly quite terrifying. The
[00:05:36] shots seemed like they were coming from
[00:05:37] where the classrooms are. He said,
[00:05:50] she began receiving numerous texts and
[00:05:52] phone calls from friends who said they
[00:05:53] heard shots near Hedgeman Hall.
[00:06:12] Um,
[00:06:15] this is wild.
[00:06:22] Welcome to America, I guess.
[00:06:38] So, East Coast stuff. It's a very dense
[00:06:41] campus area. Looks like um
[00:06:47] we don't have a lot of information yet.
[00:06:51] We don't know what's going on. Yeah, I
[00:06:54] see.
[00:06:58] I see chat is tuned in. Is it uh I mean
[00:07:03] I'm not let's let's be clear. I'm not I
[00:07:05] don't think it's a false flag as in it's
[00:07:07] fake. I think it's very real. Um
[00:07:11] very curious to see what
[00:07:14] it winds up being. Press conference at
[00:07:17] 6:15.
[00:07:18] So in 10 minutes
[00:07:21] that would be great.
[00:07:26] That would be great.
[00:07:30] Donald Trump is tweeting about it
[00:07:33] >> about 54 minutes ago that they do not
[00:07:36] have a suspect. So they that that I mean
[00:07:39] again they changed their information
[00:07:42] about an hour ago.
[00:07:44] >> Yeah. What the heck, man? For real.
[00:07:49] For real.
[00:07:54] I'm gonna see if there's any other live
[00:07:56] updates going on on on other channels.
[00:08:00] Um,
[00:08:15] >> so this is
[00:08:17] Associated Press live on the scene
[00:08:19] apparently.
[00:08:21] what you'd expect.
[00:08:25] >> Not a lot of information there for us.
[00:08:35] >> Tight little East Coast streets here.
[00:08:44] >> Curious what street corner we're looking
[00:08:46] at.
[00:08:50] Um, I'm talking to a student that's
[00:08:52] locked inside of the medical school
[00:08:54] right now.
[00:08:56] Not a tech. Um, she said she's locked
[00:09:00] inside or No, she's hiding. She said,
[00:09:03] "Yeah,
[00:09:10] >> you guys hearing that?" So, there's
[00:09:12] students still locked down inside of the
[00:09:14] buildings.
[00:09:25] Um, it doesn't sound like they know
[00:09:30] what's going on yet.
[00:09:49] I'm uh Waterman Street.
[00:10:13] I'll just say
[00:10:33] >> well
[00:10:37] >> you know that neighborhood really well.
[00:10:43] See, Brana, do you know what uh what
[00:10:46] cross street we might be looking at?
[00:10:48] Waterman Street. And do you know what
[00:10:50] cross street we might be looking at?
[00:10:53] >> Okay.
[00:11:13] No, we don't have a street number. I
[00:11:14] mean, it's it's the whole area right
[00:11:16] now. I'm just curious um
[00:11:21] I'm curious where this exact uh camera
[00:11:24] shot is right now in terms of this
[00:11:26] police response. It's not wildly
[00:11:29] relevant obviously um because it's not
[00:11:33] like this is showing us
[00:11:35] any exact location of what's happening.
[00:11:40] Um I'm just scrolling around on Google
[00:11:43] Earth to see if we can kind of locate
[00:11:45] ourselves to this
[00:11:49] camera shot.
[00:11:57] grass out front of this building
[00:12:00] at a corner.
[00:12:09] >> They weren't there when we were live
[00:12:15] in one of these buildings. I don't want
[00:12:16] to give away exactly
[00:12:20] her identity
[00:12:22] and water. She just said about two
[00:12:25] minutes ago that She is barricaded
[00:12:27] inside a room. She's been barricaded in
[00:12:29] the door starting. They are using these
[00:12:33] chairs to barricade the door. She has
[00:12:36] not heard
[00:12:39] intersection. I was literally just very
[00:12:42] scared that he got an email shortly or
[00:12:47] got an email about 10 minutes saying
[00:12:50] that.
[00:12:54] The uh imagery is all messed up on
[00:12:56] Google Earth at the
[00:12:57] >> water
[00:13:04] of those rooms that
[00:13:07] barricaded themselves in using stairs to
[00:13:11] make sure
[00:13:12] >> Well, Maria, just a few moments ago, we
[00:13:14] got another update from Brown University
[00:13:16] on their website. One of the things it
[00:13:18] points out is that unfortunately there
[00:13:20] are multiple victims. says, "We are very
[00:13:23] sorry to share that we have confirmed
[00:13:24] reports of multiple shooting victims. We
[00:13:27] are not able to share their condition.
[00:13:29] They have been transported to local
[00:13:31] prospects." So that is part of the
[00:13:33] update just by university.
[00:13:36] building and we saw that part of a very
[00:13:38] large law enforcement carrying us very
[00:13:43] few hours ago.
[00:13:44] >> And what you're looking at there in the
[00:13:46] distance just a couple blocks from our
[00:13:48] location uh just in the area of Fair
[00:13:51] Street. That's the main drag here at
[00:13:52] Brown University close to the building
[00:13:54] where the shooting happened. Uh very
[00:13:56] large police. You see all those lights?
[00:13:59] You can see the police take there
[00:14:13] because
[00:14:15] anywhere
[00:14:17] we don't know. It's interesting uh how
[00:14:20] much audio they have overlapping in this
[00:14:21] >> live
[00:14:31] in custody. So for anyone that's just
[00:14:32] tuning in um there's an active shooter
[00:14:34] at Brown University. There's reportedly
[00:14:37] over 20 victims. Um no report on their
[00:14:40] status. um
[00:14:46] >> they reported that they had someone in
[00:14:47] custody right away and then they
[00:14:49] rescended that and said they don't have
[00:14:50] anyone in custody.
[00:14:56] >> It happened about it started about two
[00:14:58] hours ago and there it seems like
[00:15:01] there's been reporting of shots being
[00:15:03] fired since then.
[00:15:09] Um, I do not believe that the camera
[00:15:12] shot we're looking at right now is the
[00:15:14] waterman.
[00:15:16] >> They keep on speaking about the
[00:15:18] waterman, but it really doesn't
[00:15:21] >> match what is on Google Earth at all.
[00:15:40] It sounds like the Waterman is like
[00:15:44] >> in the thick of it, but who knows at
[00:15:46] this point.
[00:15:51] >> So, we're going to pause that and uh
[00:15:53] check in one more time with
[00:15:56] Agenda Free News.
[00:15:59] But they're saying that there were
[00:16:00] actually no shots uh near Governor
[00:16:04] Street, but it remains critical to
[00:16:06] shelter in place due to the original
[00:16:08] situation. Stay tuned for further safety
[00:16:11] information. So, there had been
[00:16:13] reporting of a secondary shooting
[00:16:15] happening and uh apparently that is
[00:16:18] unfounded.
[00:16:20] Just hopping in what's going on. Um
[00:16:22] there is a mass shooting event at Brown
[00:16:24] University. 20 people
[00:16:27] uh 20 victims apparently or more.
[00:16:36] Live news coverage at 4:00 a.m. last
[00:16:38] night. That was long before this
[00:16:39] happened.
[00:16:42] It is a very blue state, that's for
[00:16:43] sure. Corner of Hope and George.
[00:16:47] Pam Bondi just posted.
[00:16:54] >> Pam Bondi says,
[00:16:57] "Attorney General Bondi says, "Our FBI
[00:17:00] and ATF agents are on the scene of a tra
[00:17:03] the tragic shooting at Brown University.
[00:17:05] Uh, please play for all. Please pray for
[00:17:08] all involved."
[00:17:11] >> That
[00:17:12] >> operations. Go ahead. Say, please.
[00:17:15] We have two task force on station. One
[00:17:17] from one from CR.
[00:17:19] >> No, that's not where our shot, our
[00:17:22] camera shot is at.
[00:17:24] >> Operations.
[00:17:27] >> My mic isn't buzzing. It's the uh It's
[00:17:29] the That's because he has the police
[00:17:32] scanner running and police scanners
[00:17:34] always have a buzz in the background.
[00:17:37] Yeah. Don't worry. ATF and FBI are on
[00:17:39] it. Um
[00:17:44] Yeah.
[00:17:46] Um, tragedy. Real tragedy. We'll keep
[00:17:50] our eyes on it.
[00:17:54] We'll um
[00:17:56] shoot at Brown University
[00:17:59] press conference. We'll watch the press
[00:18:02] conference a little later. We're going
[00:18:03] to get into the other reporting we were
[00:18:05] going to do.
[00:18:07] Scheduled for 6:15 p.m. local time.
[00:18:11] So, that should be right now. Rescue
[00:18:14] three and four. Are you on mutual aid
[00:18:15] too?
[00:18:16] >> Safety battalion will do.
[00:18:20] >> So theoretically, we'll watch that right
[00:18:21] now.
[00:18:26] >> No word of a suspect in custody at this
[00:18:29] point. The uh Brown University, the last
[00:18:32] they said there was no suspect in
[00:18:34] custody. Um oh, hold on. There's a
[00:18:36] there's a new statement. Uh new
[00:18:38] statement from Brown University. I'm
[00:18:39] sorry. I missed this 10 minutes ago.
[00:18:41] They put out a statement. Hold on a
[00:18:42] second. Um, here you go. Right here. New
[00:18:45] from Brown University right here. Uh,
[00:18:47] hold on a second here.
[00:18:50] Um,
[00:18:51] >> I like this guy's vibe
[00:18:52] >> at 4:22
[00:18:54] p.m. Hold on a moment.
[00:18:56] >> Shout out to Stacy for the subs.
[00:18:57] >> I'm going to read this to you.
[00:18:58] >> You're a legend.
[00:19:01] >> That is the new statement
[00:19:06] >> and further information our community
[00:19:07] when it comes available. We are very
[00:19:08] sorry to share that we have confirmed
[00:19:09] reports of multiple shooting victims. We
[00:19:11] do not yet have information about the
[00:19:12] condition.
[00:19:13] >> At 4:22 p.m., we alerted our campus to
[00:19:18] Oh, where did it go?
[00:19:21] Uh, at 4:22 p.m., we alerted our campus
[00:19:24] to an active shooter incident near Baris
[00:19:26] and Holly Engineering. We immediately
[00:19:28] informed our community to shelter in
[00:19:30] place by locking doors, silencing
[00:19:32] phones, and staying hidden until further
[00:19:34] notice. We have been providing further
[00:19:36] information to our community as and when
[00:19:38] it becomes available, but this remains
[00:19:40] an active crime scene and law
[00:19:41] enforcement continues to search for the
[00:19:43] suspect. They continue to search for the
[00:19:46] suspect. The situation is ongoing and
[00:19:48] all members of the community should
[00:19:49] continue to shelter in place. We are
[00:19:51] very sorry to share. We have confirmed
[00:19:56] confirmed reports.
[00:19:59] Looks like we got a guy ready to tell us
[00:20:01] something important here.
[00:20:19] Do we have anyone in Rhode Island in the
[00:20:21] chat? Do we have anyone in the area
[00:20:22] right now in the chat?
[00:20:25] Praying for anyone in the area. Be safe
[00:20:28] if you're out there.
[00:20:31] Yeah, I saw the uh the news about ISIS
[00:20:33] the ISIS shooting
[00:20:35] >> the ISIS shooting in Syria. Who knows? I
[00:20:38] don't know. Could be.
[00:20:43] >> Well, you're from Rhode Island.
[00:20:45] >> Tragic news here. Just seconds ago, my
[00:20:47] producer came into my IFB and told me
[00:20:49] that the AP, the Associated Press, is
[00:20:51] reporting that two people are dead. Now,
[00:20:54] we are working to confirm this
[00:20:56] independently, but uh again, two people
[00:20:58] dead according to the Associated Press.
[00:21:01] I'm at the intersection of Water
[00:21:05] Stretch of Providence. You can see we
[00:21:06] just actually got uh some crime scene
[00:21:08] tape.
[00:21:10] See just the first responders that are
[00:21:11] present
[00:21:12] >> at the scene.
[00:21:15] large of a scene this
[00:21:16] >> live shooting at Brown University
[00:21:17] ongoing
[00:21:18] >> and we're still working to get suspect
[00:21:20] the other victim's condition but again
[00:21:22] that Associated Press confirming uh two
[00:21:25] people are dead. We're working to
[00:21:26] confirm that independently and we're
[00:21:29] working to get an update on the shooters
[00:21:30] as well or shooter uh however many there
[00:21:33] were.
[00:21:34] >> We're getting reports of 20 victims.
[00:21:35] >> How large this investigation is
[00:21:37] >> it happened about 2 hours ago in
[00:21:39] Providence
[00:21:39] >> or at least it started about 2 hours
[00:21:41] ago.
[00:21:41] >> You know we've talked to students. You
[00:21:42] live 10 minutes away desks uh as they
[00:21:45] were evacuated shelter in place
[00:21:47] evacuated. They were hiding for hours.
[00:21:49] You can see the movement from first
[00:21:51] responders and police and firefighters
[00:21:53] at this scene. You know, this is a
[00:21:54] Saturday night and there's restaurants
[00:21:56] here. There's student life here. We're
[00:21:58] right next to the sciences building uh
[00:22:00] sciences library at Brown University
[00:22:03] that would be filled with students and
[00:22:05] residents of Providence having a good
[00:22:06] time. Sadly, this tragedy has unfolded
[00:22:09] and this is what we are seeing on this
[00:22:11] Saturday night just a couple weeks
[00:22:14] before the holidays. Just a true
[00:22:16] tragedy. Again, the AP confirming two
[00:22:18] people are dead.
[00:22:20] >> We'll be out here and keep you updated
[00:22:22] at the scene. Again, this just got roped
[00:22:25] off. Crime scene tape placed up
[00:22:27] >> just within the past couple minutes, but
[00:22:29] we'll be out here all night. Live in
[00:22:30] Providence, Mike Su, I'm going to send
[00:22:32] it back to you.
[00:22:35] Um, so no news on press conferences.
[00:22:45] We have an update on the active shooter
[00:22:47] situation at Brown University in
[00:22:48] Providence, Rhode Island. Providence
[00:22:49] police say multiple people have been
[00:22:51] shot in the area of the university.
[00:22:53] They're advising residents to shelter in
[00:22:55] place or avoid the area until further
[00:22:58] notice. This is an active investigation.
[00:23:00] Brown University also says there are
[00:23:02] reports of shots fired near Governor
[00:23:04] Street, a few blocks from where the
[00:23:06] initial shooting was reported.
[00:23:10] >> Obviously,
[00:23:11] >> I think that we now have a statement
[00:23:12] from the university that the secondary
[00:23:14] shooting by Governor Street was not real
[00:23:17] allegedly.
[00:23:20] Hey, shout out to Bellingham,
[00:23:22] Washington, homie.
[00:23:24] >> Uh, we don't have much information on
[00:23:25] this. Um, it's a day it seems like one
[00:23:28] tragedy after another. We don't know uh
[00:23:30] what victims exist and what state
[00:23:32] they're in, but this is an active
[00:23:33] shooter on campus.
[00:23:34] >> Yeah. Is it bad that you're like Alex
[00:23:35] Jones at this point with shootings? I
[00:23:37] mean,
[00:23:39] I'm not going to tell you what's good
[00:23:41] and bad,
[00:23:42] but um
[00:23:45] it's still active
[00:23:47] and
[00:23:49] >> uh Tommy, you know, it's it's tough to
[00:23:51] sit here and not have more information
[00:23:53] to give,
[00:23:53] >> right? Well, to me, just looking at loss
[00:23:55] of life is a tragedy. seems like a very
[00:23:57] odd time because a lot of I know we
[00:24:00] discussed earlier they're still in
[00:24:02] session. They're taking their finals
[00:24:03] this upcoming week, but this is the
[00:24:05] holiday time. A lot of students, you
[00:24:07] know, studying for finals. Also, this is
[00:24:09] a Saturday on a college campus. You
[00:24:11] wouldn't think that a Saturday on a
[00:24:12] college campus would be hustling and
[00:24:14] bustling like maybe a weekday.
[00:24:16] >> Tim Pool is reporting that Candace is
[00:24:17] the shooter. Yeah, for real.
[00:24:23] I live right next to Providence College,
[00:24:25] which is the closest college next to
[00:24:27] Brown.
[00:24:28] >> Yeah.
[00:24:30] >> Would be so obviously a lot more.
[00:24:32] >> Tim isn't actually reporting that, by
[00:24:34] the way. That was a joke that chat made
[00:24:36] >> question answer, but when you look at
[00:24:38] the motive here, it's just it's
[00:24:40] interesting to parse this out on a
[00:24:42] Saturday on a university campus in the
[00:24:44] middle of the Christmas holiday season.
[00:24:46] Yeah, Joe, you know, we were just disc
[00:24:47] >> I mean, I'm not really sure what she's
[00:24:49] saying.
[00:24:51] If you're going to do a mass shooting at
[00:24:53] a college, that's exactly the kind of
[00:24:56] time you would do it. The question, the
[00:24:59] real question is, is the shooter on
[00:25:00] SSRIs? That's the real question.
[00:25:03] >> Discussing mental illness, what happened
[00:25:04] here in Manhattan? Then we move over and
[00:25:06] there's another active shooter on
[00:25:07] campus. The lady here in Manhattan went
[00:25:09] and bought knives in Macy's and tried to
[00:25:11] kill someone. This person obviously is
[00:25:13] using a gun. At what point do do we
[00:25:15] start looking at mental health as the
[00:25:17] predominant epidemic in this country?
[00:25:19] >> Obviously, it's a threat to the lives of
[00:25:21] Americans in this country. And I think
[00:25:23] that, you know, with all the billions
[00:25:24] that we spend in terms of our budgets
[00:25:27] that we really need to be laser,
[00:25:30] >> the boys and girls of Fox News are doing
[00:25:32] a bad bad. They're talking about mental
[00:25:34] health. I'm pretty sure we're supposed
[00:25:35] to be talking about guns right now,
[00:25:37] boys. Um, I think you're going to get a
[00:25:39] stern talking to
[00:25:40] >> on throwing money at the problem, making
[00:25:43] sure it's allocated to the proper places
[00:25:45] and to the biggest risks as far as
[00:25:47] people that absolutely should be in the
[00:25:49] institutions and should be nowhere on
[00:25:51] the street taking out students uh right
[00:25:53] there in Providence at Brown University
[00:25:55] or a woman who stabs another woman from
[00:25:58] behind while she's changing her baby.
[00:25:59] The baby fell to the ground.
[00:26:01] >> I mean,
[00:26:04] yeah.
[00:26:05] >> Reports of multiple
[00:26:07] Car 108. Um, did you assign somebody for
[00:26:10] that?
[00:26:14] >> I'm getting a little pumped. Just give
[00:26:17] me one minute.
[00:26:18] >> Roger.
[00:26:19] >> I also have another run when you're
[00:26:20] ready.
[00:26:26] >> Stand by. Let me find.
[00:26:33] Um, so there doesn't seem to be any
[00:26:35] press conference forthcoming.
[00:26:39] Um,
[00:26:41] I think that we'll let it sit for now
[00:26:44] because we're in the thick of it and
[00:26:46] you're not going to learn anything new
[00:26:48] about a mass shooting while it's all
[00:26:49] going on. Certainly not anything
[00:26:51] reliable. Um, so pray pray for safety
[00:26:54] for these kids that are out there,
[00:26:56] whoever's over there. Um, be safe and
[00:26:59] we'll jump into
[00:27:03] >> Thanks to News for posting this
[00:27:06] here from I guess law enforcement. Um,
[00:27:14] >> oh, hold on a second. Hold on, hold on,
[00:27:16] hold on.
[00:27:16] >> Fire alarm, two engine 11. What's going
[00:27:19] on here?
[00:27:27] All right. I'm supposed to get I'm
[00:27:29] supposed to get a live shot to engine
[00:27:30] 11.
[00:27:33] >> Engine 11 on one.
[00:27:34] >> Engine 11. Uh, can you respond to 225
[00:27:38] hope now? 225 hope.
[00:27:41] That's at the auditorium.
[00:27:46] >> We'll do.
[00:27:48] >> Roger. That's going to be the support
[00:27:49] center.
[00:27:51] So, we're hearing we're hearing
[00:27:54] reporting of all sorts of locations.
[00:27:57] >> All sorts of locations that that uh
[00:27:59] things are getting called to. Okay.
[00:28:01] Press conference is live.
[00:28:04] >> We were dispatched by
[00:28:08] one second to scroll back.
[00:28:12] The mayor said to make sure
[00:28:17] >> trying to
[00:28:22] That's engine 15 respond 976 Atwolves
[00:28:25] Avenue.
[00:28:26] >> We're getting a high shot over here. So
[00:28:28] for anyone that's just getting in here,
[00:28:29] there's a mass shooting event in Brown
[00:28:31] University in Rhode Island right now
[00:28:34] >> and it's ongoing. They do not have a
[00:28:36] suspect in custody. There's reports of
[00:28:38] over 20 injured.
[00:28:41] >> There was a report of at least two
[00:28:44] fatalities. Um, real tragedy. So, here's
[00:28:48] the press conference.
[00:28:49] >> I'm sorry. What were those two rescues?
[00:28:53] >> Good. I was hoping he would turn his
[00:28:54] scanner off.
[00:28:56] >> Brown Provost Doyle, Governor Daniel,
[00:29:00] Councilman John Gansol's Commander Tim
[00:29:02] Opera, and Lieutenant Governor Sabina
[00:29:04] Moss. Um, we it is still early hours uh
[00:29:10] in the incident that occurred at Brown
[00:29:12] today. And so, please understand here,
[00:29:14] >> I'll turn it up a little for you Uh it's
[00:29:15] important for us to share what details
[00:29:17] we do have to the community
[00:29:19] >> because there's a lot of fear and
[00:29:20] anxiety and unfortunately already that's
[00:29:22] as loud as I can get it but this is very
[00:29:24] early hours and so please know that some
[00:29:26] of these details may be subject to
[00:29:28] change
[00:29:29] >> that this investigation is ongoing
[00:29:32] >> it's really quiet
[00:29:32] >> be as transparent as we can in the hours
[00:29:34] to come and we'll provide regular
[00:29:36] updates but we're going to share what we
[00:29:38] do know at this time but please bear
[00:29:39] with us uh as we know sometimes these
[00:29:42] details shift as the investigation
[00:29:45] progresses.
[00:29:47] Sadly, um, today is a day that the city
[00:29:50] of Providence and the state of Rhode
[00:29:51] Island prayed would never come.
[00:29:54] During the afternoon, we received a
[00:29:56] call. 4:05 was when the initial call
[00:29:59] came in to Brown University of a report
[00:30:01] of an active shooter.
[00:30:03] >> So, 4:05 p.m. Eastern time is when the
[00:30:05] initial call came in of the active
[00:30:06] shooter. That would be uh two and a half
[00:30:09] hours ago, more or less.
[00:30:12] I can confirm that there are two
[00:30:14] individuals who have died this afternoon
[00:30:18] and there are another eight in critical
[00:30:20] status.
[00:30:21] >> Two deceased, eight in critical status.
[00:30:23] >> Those stable
[00:30:25] >> stable hospital
[00:30:27] are the only injuries or casualties that
[00:30:29] we know at this time.
[00:30:31] >> So that's 10 injuries and casualties at
[00:30:33] this time allegedly.
[00:30:35] >> But as I mentioned and it's important to
[00:30:37] remind folks, these numbers may change.
[00:30:40] We are still in early hours, but at this
[00:30:42] time there are two deceased and eight
[00:30:44] who are critical but stable at Rhode
[00:30:46] Island Hospital.
[00:30:48] Additionally, we do not have a shooter
[00:30:51] in custody at this time. There is a
[00:30:54] shelter in place in effect for the
[00:30:56] greater Brown University area.
[00:30:58] >> Always drop the subscribe and the likes.
[00:30:59] Support people's work.
[00:31:03] >> Oh, audio cut.
[00:31:05] >> Do not return to your homes until the
[00:31:07] shelter in place has been lifted. We
[00:31:10] will make regular updates through all
[00:31:12] City of Providence official social media
[00:31:14] channels. That's where you can find out
[00:31:16] more information about the shelter in
[00:31:18] place if it changes when it's lifted.
[00:31:22] >> I want to commend the heroic work the
[00:31:26] Providence Police Department, the Brown
[00:31:28] Police Department, Providence Fire
[00:31:30] Department agencies who provided mutual
[00:31:33] aid today.
[00:31:35] >> Brown
[00:31:35] >> guy from Wisco. What about the planes?
[00:31:38] police responded first and then were
[00:31:40] quickly assisted by Providence police
[00:31:42] who fearlessly and courageously entered
[00:31:45] and worked through the building. And
[00:31:47] we'll hear from them in a minute. Brown
[00:31:49] uh Providence Fire responded quickly as
[00:31:53] well and transported several of the
[00:31:55] victims.
[00:31:57] The fire department was assisted uh with
[00:32:00] mutual aid from across the state of
[00:32:02] Rhode Island. And as I think we know our
[00:32:05] community to be, our neighbors have
[00:32:06] really stepped up in a big way today.
[00:32:09] And we're very grateful for everyone who
[00:32:11] has offered assistance and who will
[00:32:12] continue to offer assistance. The fire
[00:32:15] department was aided by departments in
[00:32:16] Warwick, Bington, Bristol, Brown, EMS,
[00:32:20] Pucket, Cranston, Coventry, Smithfield,
[00:32:24] East Greenwich, North Kingtown, Wound
[00:32:26] Socket, Professional Ambulance Company,
[00:32:28] Situit, and Cumberland.
[00:32:31] Providence Police and Brown Police were
[00:32:34] aided by East Providence, Cranston,
[00:32:37] Cumberland, the State Police, the FBI,
[00:32:40] and the ATF.
[00:32:43] Brown, Providence, and the FBI are
[00:32:46] currently in close coordination
[00:32:48] as they seek to find the shooter or
[00:32:51] shooters.
[00:32:54] The shooting took place at the Baris and
[00:32:56] Holly building,
[00:32:58] which is a Brown University engineering
[00:33:01] and physics building.
[00:33:02] >> So, it took place at the Baris and Holly
[00:33:04] building. I was just showing you the
[00:33:05] flight map, the current flight map. Um,
[00:33:09] there's a helicopter circling right now.
[00:33:14] Looks like it's been circling for some
[00:33:16] time. And that's all I've got over top
[00:33:17] of Providence.
[00:33:27] Looks like there's another helicopter on
[00:33:28] its way.
[00:33:38] Um, so we'll keep monitoring that.
[00:33:40] >> The building contains both classrooms
[00:33:42] and lab space.
[00:33:45] We'll hear from the provost in a minute
[00:33:47] with some additional updates from Brown.
[00:33:51] There will be a family reunification
[00:33:53] center that Brown will be setting.
[00:33:54] >> I can see the helicopter from your
[00:33:55] house, huh?
[00:33:56] >> Please.
[00:33:57] >> Yeah, the circling one.
[00:34:01] >> Stay tuned for updates on where the that
[00:34:03] will be. We are encouraging anyone who
[00:34:06] was a witness to today's action to
[00:34:09] please contact the police as the
[00:34:11] investigation is ongoing and they may
[00:34:13] have critical information.
[00:34:16] At this time,
[00:34:18] I'd like to introduce uh the governor in
[00:34:21] the state of Rhode Island, who was quick
[00:34:23] to call and offer assistance and has
[00:34:24] been in touch uh with our law
[00:34:27] enforcement, had the state police
[00:34:29] respond quickly, and has been a great
[00:34:31] partner to the city of Providence on
[00:34:32] this sad day. Governor McKe.
[00:34:34] >> Okay, Mayor.
[00:34:36] >> Yes. Yeah. So, the unthinkable has
[00:34:38] happened and uh I've been in touch as
[00:34:42] the mayor said to make sure that all the
[00:34:45] resources that we have, whether it's the
[00:34:46] EMA, our state police, department of
[00:34:49] health, which we've been in contact with
[00:34:51] as well, are responding
[00:34:54] uh in a way that is being helpful as
[00:34:56] possible. We've been in contact with the
[00:34:58] White House as well. Our office has been
[00:34:59] in contact with the White House. So, we
[00:35:01] will bring all our resource to the
[00:35:03] table. Um, I just checked on our
[00:35:05] Egyptian planes. Three of them, BTT,
[00:35:07] BTU, and BND. They're all in Cairo right
[00:35:09] now. One of them, um, BTU just got back
[00:35:14] from Bordeaux on the 11th of December.
[00:35:18] It spent
[00:35:20] months in Bordeaux. Ever since July
[00:35:24] 15th, it's been in Bordeaux,
[00:35:27] France,
[00:35:28] apparently.
[00:35:31] Yeah, the chat's on to it. the chaty as
[00:35:34] well as other governors who have
[00:35:36] experienced the same
[00:35:38] um tragedy. So, our thoughts go out to
[00:35:42] those who have been impacted by this in
[00:35:44] any way, and we'll continue to provide
[00:35:47] uh the assistance uh to the um to the
[00:35:51] authorities here in Providence as well
[00:35:53] as statewide and continue to make sure
[00:35:56] that we are doing everything we can to
[00:35:58] help the families that are
[00:36:00] uh you know that are suffering right
[00:36:02] now.
[00:36:04] Governor,
[00:36:06] >> now I'd like to introduce Chief Rodney
[00:36:08] Chapman from Brown PD.
[00:36:13] My name is Rodney Chapman. I'm vice
[00:36:15] president for Brown University, vice
[00:36:17] president of public safety and emergency
[00:36:19] management. I serves as chief of police
[00:36:20] as well. Um, as mentioned, and we will
[00:36:23] mention this several times, this is a
[00:36:25] very fluid situation and dynamically
[00:36:28] involving. Needless to
[00:36:30] >> Chad, I'm going to take a call real
[00:36:31] quick and uh mute my mic and we'll play
[00:36:34] this for about one minute while I see
[00:36:36] what's going on here. say my primary
[00:36:39] concern is the safety and security of
[00:36:41] this community and we are encouraging if
[00:36:44] anyone has information about the tragic
[00:36:46] events that unfolded this afternoon to
[00:36:48] please contact us and provide that
[00:36:51] information. Uh at this moment I do want
[00:36:53] to say and share that my profound thanks
[00:36:56] and appreciation for all of the first
[00:36:59] responders who have come to assist us
[00:37:01] and all that are gathered right now
[00:37:04] speaking to continue this investigation
[00:37:06] to include all of the city of Providence
[00:37:08] resources, state resources um and the
[00:37:12] federal government in terms of the FBI
[00:37:13] and ATF.
[00:37:15] Sir,
[00:37:17] >> now uh Commander Tim O'Hara from
[00:37:19] Province Police.
[00:37:21] Good evening. uh Tim O'Hara, Deputy
[00:37:23] Chief of Providence Police. So, uh
[00:37:25] earlier this afternoon, uh when we
[00:37:27] received a call uh for an active shooter
[00:37:29] inside a building inside Brown
[00:37:31] University, our officers responded and
[00:37:34] as they're trained to do, entered that
[00:37:36] building immediately and began searching
[00:37:38] for a suspect. Uh they did a systematic
[00:37:40] search of the building. However, no
[00:37:42] suspect was located at that time.
[00:37:45] they're able to clear that building and
[00:37:47] provide a safe uh place for all of
[00:37:49] students and faculty and workers that
[00:37:51] were in that building to uh to meet at.
[00:37:53] Uh preliminarily uh all we have
[00:37:56] >> got the call
[00:37:57] >> a suspect that was a male dressed in
[00:38:00] black. It is unknown how he entered the
[00:38:02] building, but we do know that he exited
[00:38:04] the Hope Street side of that complex. Uh
[00:38:08] >> suspect was a male dressed in black.
[00:38:12] Uh we're utilizing every resource
[00:38:15] possible to find this suspect. Uh the
[00:38:18] shelter in place is in order and I urge
[00:38:20] people to take that very seriously.
[00:38:22] Please do not come to the ear.
[00:38:23] >> Yeah. Have you guys heard about the
[00:38:25] great nation of Israel? I wanted to tell
[00:38:26] you I wanted to take a quick moment to
[00:38:28] take an ad break for the nation of
[00:38:30] Israel. Israel is America's greatest
[00:38:33] ally. Israel is the greatest nation in
[00:38:37] the Middle East. If Israel is the only
[00:38:39] home for gay people in the Middle East,
[00:38:42] obviously Ital Israel is a bastion for
[00:38:45] democracy in the Middle East. We all
[00:38:47] love Israel. All praise Israel. Shabbat
[00:38:51] shalom, [ __ ] Um,
[00:38:56] this has been a message straight from
[00:38:58] the heart by yours truly, Ian Carol.
[00:39:02] area. There's an active police
[00:39:03] investigation going on and there's a lot
[00:39:06] of police activity. Uh we've got
[00:39:08] assistance so far from uh some
[00:39:10] surrounding communities, the state
[00:39:11] police, uh the Cranston police, East
[00:39:14] Providence Police, as well as uh our
[00:39:17] federal partners and the FBI and the
[00:39:19] ATF. Uh there we're talking to sus uh
[00:39:23] we're talking to witnesses at this time
[00:39:25] and delving into any uh video that's uh
[00:39:28] in the area and the investigation is
[00:39:30] very active and ongoing. We'll be
[00:39:32] updating you sir I'm sure throughout the
[00:39:34] night but as I said right now there is
[00:39:36] no suspect that is uh under arrest so
[00:39:39] please stay out of the area. Thank you.
[00:39:41] >> We'll take questions at the end. We'll
[00:39:43] take questions at the end. We have a few
[00:39:45] more speakers please. Uh, next, Fire
[00:39:47] Chief Derek Silva. City
[00:39:48] >> of Providence. As mentioned previously,
[00:39:51] at 4:05 p.m., we were dispatched to the
[00:39:53] area of Waterman and Theer for an active
[00:39:56] shooter incident where our firefighters
[00:39:57] known as a rescue task force linked up
[00:39:59] with Province Police with two
[00:40:01] operational locations at Waterman and
[00:40:03] Theer and Waterman at Hope. rescue task
[00:40:05] force is a firefighter that wears body
[00:40:07] armor and has um ability to stop any uh
[00:40:11] shooting wounds and make sure that any
[00:40:13] victims are extricated quickly. Uh with
[00:40:15] the assistance of police in neighboring
[00:40:17] cities and towns, eight people were
[00:40:19] transported.
[00:40:21] >> Shout out to the first responders.
[00:40:23] Shout out to the first responders out
[00:40:25] there. Total legends doing the Lord's
[00:40:28] work.
[00:40:28] >> As the mayor mentioned, critical but
[00:40:30] stable condition and two unfortunately
[00:40:32] were dead on arrival. Uh we have a total
[00:40:35] of 10 victims, but as I caution
[00:40:36] everyone, this is a developing incident
[00:40:38] and we are still actively searching the
[00:40:40] buildings along with Province Police to
[00:40:42] make sure that everyone has gone home
[00:40:44] safe and that there are no one else that
[00:40:46] needs our assistance. Thank
[00:40:48] >> Thank you, Chief. And then last, we'll
[00:40:49] hear from the provost of Brown
[00:40:51] University, Frank Doyle.
[00:40:54] >> Thank you, Mayor.
[00:40:59] I don't mean to make light of the
[00:41:01] situation, but I want to point out that
[00:41:03] they're probably not going to repave
[00:41:05] Brown University within the next 5 days.
[00:41:10] Hopefully, they'll treat it like an
[00:41:11] actual active crime scene and they'll
[00:41:12] actually investigate and actually find
[00:41:15] this shooter.
[00:41:17] I'm Frank Doyle, Provost at Brown
[00:41:19] University. Um, I want to reiterate this
[00:41:22] is an evolving situation as you've heard
[00:41:23] multiple times. Our first priority is
[00:41:26] the safety of our academic community,
[00:41:28] the campus community, and coordinating
[00:41:30] closely with law enforcement and medical
[00:41:32] services. In the meantime, we continue
[00:41:34] to direct our community to shelter in
[00:41:36] place in the greater vicinity of the
[00:41:38] campus. We are working immediately to
[00:41:41] determine who was in the building at the
[00:41:42] time of the shooting and any impacts in
[00:41:44] the shooting. We do know that there were
[00:41:46] final exams taking place in the building
[00:41:48] between 2 and 5:00 p.m. We can confirm
[00:41:51] that support services are on site. We
[00:41:54] have been and continue to be very
[00:41:56] grateful to law enforcement.
[00:41:57] >> So, this happened during finals
[00:42:00] >> and emergency medical personnel. We have
[00:42:02] relocated students to get support
[00:42:04] services at a secure location and we'll
[00:42:06] be providing more details. We continue
[00:42:09] to remain extremely grateful to local
[00:42:11] law enforcement for their ongoing
[00:42:13] support. We're committed to keeping our
[00:42:15] community informed, supporting our
[00:42:17] students and families as well as the
[00:42:19] affected faculty and staff. Thank you.
[00:42:22] So before we take questions, I just want
[00:42:24] to implore the greater Providence
[00:42:26] community. We are a week and a half away
[00:42:28] from Christmas and two people died today
[00:42:32] and another eight are in the hospital.
[00:42:34] So please um pray for those families.
[00:42:39] Understand that this is not something
[00:42:40] our community has gone through together.
[00:42:42] But I also know this community and I
[00:42:44] know that its best moments are when we
[00:42:46] come together to support one another.
[00:42:48] It's going to be a difficult uh rest of
[00:42:50] the day, difficult weeks and months
[00:42:52] ahead as this community heals and um
[00:42:55] each and every one of us can play a
[00:42:57] small role in that and supporting one's
[00:42:58] neighbor and uh and and offering that
[00:43:01] support and and their prayers for for
[00:43:02] everyone involved. At this point, we'll
[00:43:04] happy to take questions as we know them.
[00:43:06] >> Can you tell us about the victims
[00:43:07] including whether they were all Brown
[00:43:10] University students?
[00:43:11] >> We're cannot disclose any details about
[00:43:12] the victims uh at this time. uh whether
[00:43:15] they were students or not or any other
[00:43:17] details. Uh we will make those details
[00:43:18] available when they become available. We
[00:43:20] expect to be providing regular updates
[00:43:22] throughout the evening uh and in the
[00:43:24] days to come and this is uh too early to
[00:43:26] be able to provide those details.
[00:43:29] >> You got banned on Agenda Free TV for
[00:43:30] asking about SSRI.
[00:43:33] >> Damn, bro. I mean, it's understandable
[00:43:36] that he would want to be careful about
[00:43:39] his chat being, you know,
[00:43:43] uh,
[00:43:45] conscientious in tragedies like this.
[00:43:50] So, I I I guess I could see that, but
[00:43:53] I think SSRIs are the main conversation
[00:43:56] around school shootings and mass
[00:43:57] shootings.
[00:43:58] >> Something like happening. Uh the first
[00:44:02] we learned about today was the 911 call
[00:44:04] that came in. Um but we had no other I
[00:44:07] don't think u our law enfor we had no
[00:44:10] other uh notice or threat indicators or
[00:44:12] anything like that. Please
[00:44:14] >> mayor, do you know exactly when um Brown
[00:44:16] University did put out that someone was
[00:44:18] in custody? How long was that
[00:44:19] misinformation out for? Um and how was
[00:44:22] that determination made and then
[00:44:23] retracted? Uh there was an individual uh
[00:44:26] who was preliminarily thought to be
[00:44:28] involved and was later determined to
[00:44:30] have no involvement. Uh and that's why
[00:44:33] we can confirm that at this time there
[00:44:34] is nobody in custody. Uh the length of
[00:44:38] that that uh investigation or
[00:44:40] interrogation of that individual. I I
[00:44:41] don't know.
[00:44:42] >> Has a weapon been recovered,
[00:44:45] >> commander?
[00:44:46] >> No weapons have been No weapons have
[00:44:47] been recovered.
[00:44:48] >> No weapons.
[00:44:49] >> No weapons have been recovered.
[00:44:52] We just know that it was a a firearm.
[00:44:56] >> What type of firearm we we're unaware
[00:44:58] of.
[00:44:58] >> Commander, Brown University Police.
[00:45:02] >> Yes, we are.
[00:45:03] >> Commander, um, do you need a pass to get
[00:45:05] into that building or could someone just
[00:45:07] get in off the street?
[00:45:08] >> I'm I'm unaware of how the security of
[00:45:10] that building works.
[00:45:12] >> Most of our buildings uh, after hours
[00:45:14] are card swiped, but since there was a
[00:45:16] final exam, there was probably a lot of
[00:45:18] traffic in and out of that building. And
[00:45:19] and where where did it happen in the
[00:45:21] building? Was this did this take place
[00:45:23] inside where the exam was going on?
[00:45:26] >> That's we're still verifying everything.
[00:45:29] So we look at everything right now.
[00:45:31] >> So as of now we have two helicopters
[00:45:33] circling
[00:45:34] over the scene
[00:45:38] and we have an American Airlines jet
[00:45:40] that's coming in apparently for landing
[00:45:42] at the airport here. I would assume
[00:45:48] >> I guess all part of the crime scene.
[00:45:49] >> Were the victims found like in a hallway
[00:45:51] or were they in a classroom?
[00:45:52] >> Oh, we're unable to share that.
[00:45:54] >> News or police? I don't know.
[00:45:55] >> Can you say if there have been any
[00:45:56] confirmed shots fired since the 405
[00:45:59] shots?
[00:46:00] >> There was a call that came over for
[00:46:02] shots fired in the area of Governor
[00:46:03] Street, but that was unconfirmed and
[00:46:05] unfounded.
[00:46:06] >> So, as far as we know, the gunman has
[00:46:09] not been seen since around the 4:00
[00:46:11] hour. That's correct. The last time uh
[00:46:14] that we know that he's been seen was uh
[00:46:16] when somebody saw him leaving the
[00:46:18] building on the Hope Street side of the
[00:46:19] building.
[00:46:20] >> Was he around college age or do you have
[00:46:22] any
[00:46:23] >> I don't have any more information about
[00:46:24] his description?
[00:46:25] >> Commander, could you repeat um how the
[00:46:28] individual exited the building?
[00:46:29] >> He exited the the doors at the Hope
[00:46:32] Street side of the building.
[00:46:33] >> Do police have any video footage of the
[00:46:35] suspect at this point?
[00:46:36] >> We're working on that right now. We're
[00:46:38] working along with FBI on tracking down
[00:46:40] uh video footage.
[00:46:42] uh in Rhode Island um in Providence,
[00:46:45] Rhode Island. This is at Brown
[00:46:46] University.
[00:46:50] >> Forensic evidence. We're using witness
[00:46:53] uh evidence and uh just we're looking
[00:46:56] for video mostly right now because we'd
[00:46:58] like to get an image out as quickly as
[00:47:00] we can of the suspect.
[00:47:01] >> Now, having been about close to three
[00:47:04] hours now, you and contact with other
[00:47:06] law enforcement. Now, we're talking an
[00:47:08] enlarged perimeter at this juncture. Who
[00:47:10] else is involved in this? Now,
[00:47:12] >> as I said earlier, state police are
[00:47:14] involved, ATF, the FBI, Providence
[00:47:16] Police detectives, and all the other uh
[00:47:18] squads that we have available to us at
[00:47:20] the patrol bureau and any and then our
[00:47:23] specialty intelligence units and our
[00:47:25] real-time crime center will be involved
[00:47:26] as well.
[00:47:27] >> Any multi-state alerts?
[00:47:29] >> Not that I'm aware of. No.
[00:47:31] >> Has everyone vacated that building at
[00:47:33] this point?
[00:47:34] >> No, not everybody. There's still a
[00:47:36] police presence in that building. That's
[00:47:37] the crime scene. We're going to be in
[00:47:38] that building for quite some time.
[00:47:40] >> But the students and faculty bystanders.
[00:47:43] >> Yes. Everybody is that that was in that
[00:47:45] building at the time is has been moved.
[00:47:48] >> Commander, so it's two deceased and
[00:47:50] eight that are in basic critical
[00:47:53] condition at the hospital.
[00:47:54] >> They're in stable condition at the
[00:47:55] hospital, Rhode Island Hospital.
[00:47:56] >> Whoever's in the chat asking about
[00:47:58] Quanet State Airport. Um, no traffic
[00:48:01] over top of Quanet State Airport right
[00:48:04] now.
[00:48:04] >> Right now. Are they able to provide any
[00:48:06] details or
[00:48:07] >> That's what we're working on right now.
[00:48:09] John,
[00:48:09] >> in terms of when that suspect was last
[00:48:11] seen, he was leaving the building on
[00:48:12] Hope Street. Is that an eyewitness
[00:48:15] account? Did police see him leave? Was
[00:48:16] there any interaction with police with
[00:48:18] that suspect?
[00:48:19] >> No interaction with that suspect with
[00:48:21] police that was from eyewitness account.
[00:48:23] >> Keith from Channel 10. I just wanted to
[00:48:25] know if there's any kind of description
[00:48:27] you can provide to anybody here right
[00:48:29] now. I know it's kind of hard, but we
[00:48:31] don't know what we're looking for. So,
[00:48:33] there's a lot of people on edge. Is
[00:48:34] there anything that you can give us?
[00:48:36] >> All I can give you is a male all dressed
[00:48:38] in black at this time. We're hoping to
[00:48:40] get something very soon. An image would
[00:48:42] be the best thing for us to get out
[00:48:44] there to you guys and everybody else.
[00:48:46] So,
[00:48:46] >> you have an image of him on
[00:48:48] >> that I can't confirm.
[00:48:49] >> Do you have an image of him? Is he
[00:48:51] >> I do not have I do not have an image of
[00:48:52] him.
[00:48:53] >> He left on foot or did he get into a
[00:48:55] vehicle?
[00:48:55] >> He left on foot.
[00:48:57] >> Did he go down Hope Street?
[00:49:00] >> He he exited the building on Hope
[00:49:02] Street. Where we went from there, we're
[00:49:03] unsure.
[00:49:04] >> How do you find a suspect uh in a city
[00:49:07] campus? Makes it very very challenging.
[00:49:10] >> We have uh all available resources and
[00:49:13] as the governor mentioned, he's in touch
[00:49:15] with uh governors in other areas as
[00:49:17] well. U this will be an ongoing
[00:49:19] investigation. Obviously, FBI, ATF,
[00:49:22] Providence Police, Brown Police are are
[00:49:24] all actively investigating this as we
[00:49:26] speak and we will provide updates uh as
[00:49:29] they become available. We expect to
[00:49:31] provide regular updates throughout the
[00:49:33] evening and in the days to come. We will
[00:49:35] share information as we have it with all
[00:49:38] of you. Uh we knew that this update was
[00:49:41] preliminary, but we also know that
[00:49:43] there's a lot of fear and anxiety and
[00:49:45] concern in our community and so it was
[00:49:47] important to get out the details that we
[00:49:48] do have at this time. At this point, you
[00:49:51] know, um all the information that can be
[00:49:54] shared and we will keep the community
[00:49:56] and members of the press corp.
[00:49:57] >> Yeah. And 911 calls stated it was a male
[00:50:00] dressed in black wearing a black mask.
[00:50:03] >> Updated as we go throughout the evening.
[00:50:05] >> Has there ever been a shooting at Brown
[00:50:06] University before?
[00:50:09] >> Commander, has Chief Perez been briefed
[00:50:12] on this?
[00:50:13] >> Sounds like this is the first shooting
[00:50:14] at Brown University.
[00:50:15] >> The chief is uh on his way here and will
[00:50:18] be at a uh at our later press
[00:50:21] availabilities.
[00:50:22] >> What kind of who are living obviously in
[00:50:25] this area that are concerned? They're
[00:50:27] instructed to shelter in place. If they
[00:50:29] see something that they feel is
[00:50:30] suspicious, what is the best way for
[00:50:32] them to reach out? Can they send
[00:50:33] pictures? Can they reach out? Obviously,
[00:50:34] you can call police. They should call
[00:50:36] the police. Uh that is the best way. Uh
[00:50:39] social media or other forms of
[00:50:40] communication uh are not the appropriate
[00:50:42] venue. You should call 911. If you
[00:50:45] believe you have information that may
[00:50:46] help us with this investigation,
[00:50:48] particularly if you were a student on
[00:50:49] campus or an adult on campus that was
[00:50:51] near the area that you think you have
[00:50:53] something to contribute, please call the
[00:50:54] police uh to help us with our
[00:50:56] investigation.
[00:50:58] >> Shutting businesses down like on their
[00:51:00] street like that. I know they did that
[00:51:01] in Maine after this.
[00:51:03] >> Uh at this point, we're not uh uh
[00:51:05] mandating that businesses shut, but we
[00:51:07] are asking everyone to shelter in place.
[00:51:09] And so, uh, we would we would hope that
[00:51:12] everyone would stay indoors until they
[00:51:14] hear otherwise from official City of
[00:51:16] Providence channels. Uh, in this day and
[00:51:18] age, we know there will be
[00:51:19] misinformation available online. And so,
[00:51:22] please, uh, when it comes to official
[00:51:24] updates, updates with regard to the
[00:51:26] shelter in place and and other updates,
[00:51:29] go to the city of Providence's Twitter,
[00:51:32] Facebook, Instagram, any of our social
[00:51:34] media channels. It is clearly marked as
[00:51:36] the official City of Providence page so
[00:51:38] that you know you're getting the
[00:51:39] accurate and official update.
[00:51:42] >> Yeah. Right. Can you imagine being a
[00:51:43] parent with your students at this
[00:51:45] college right now at Brown and you don't
[00:51:47] know who's been hurt and who's not.
[00:51:51] >> The shel
[00:51:51] >> Ian, do you think it's a false flag? I
[00:51:53] have no reason to believe that at this
[00:51:54] point.
[00:51:55] >> The shelter in place is defined as the
[00:51:57] broader Brown community at Brown.
[00:52:00] >> What's this? It's an active shooter at
[00:52:01] Brown University two and a half hours
[00:52:03] ago. This is the press conference, the
[00:52:06] first press conference about it. The
[00:52:08] shooter is still at large. No suspect in
[00:52:10] custody. Two have been confirmed
[00:52:12] deceased and eight are in critical
[00:52:14] condition, but stable at the hospital
[00:52:16] right now. Everyone knows if they live
[00:52:18] near Brown and certainly if you're on
[00:52:20] campus. Um because we don't have
[00:52:23] additional information to share at this
[00:52:24] time about the location uh of uh of a
[00:52:28] shooter, we cannot more uh specifically
[00:52:31] define it than that. Um, this is a scary
[00:52:34] time. I know. Uh,
[00:52:35] >> I've got updates on the two helicopters
[00:52:37] right after this.
[00:52:38] >> As many folks know, I live proximate to
[00:52:40] the campus and I'm hearing from friends
[00:52:42] and neighbors. We're encouraging people
[00:52:44] to stay inside until there are
[00:52:46] additional updates.
[00:52:47] >> Can we ask pro question? What is the
[00:52:50] policy at Brown University regarding
[00:52:52] firearms?
[00:52:53] >> Yeah, they're news. They're news
[00:52:54] helicopters.
[00:52:55] >> Legally have a firearm in the dorm.
[00:52:58] >> No,
[00:53:00] >> they cannot.
[00:53:01] >> They cannot. Okay,
[00:53:02] >> mayor. I'm just asking, was is the chief
[00:53:04] coming in? Was he out of state?
[00:53:05] >> Uh, I don't know. He's in transit uh and
[00:53:07] he's expected to be here uh within an
[00:53:11] hour or two. And so
[00:53:13] >> yeah, there is some confusion about
[00:53:14] false flags in the chat. Technically, a
[00:53:17] false flag means a fake attack, a fake
[00:53:21] thing that is used to present as
[00:53:23] something that it is not in order to
[00:53:25] achieve an objective. Lots of other
[00:53:27] things get you get lumped into the term
[00:53:29] false flags now. Like basically all
[00:53:31] sorts of scops get lumped in to the term
[00:53:34] false flag, but originally the term
[00:53:37] false flag means like the Gulf of Tonkan
[00:53:39] where you fake that you were attacked or
[00:53:41] you fake that something has happened and
[00:53:43] then you use that as pretext for
[00:53:46] something else to occur. 911 is a good
[00:53:49] example. It's not that the attack is
[00:53:52] necessarily fake. A false flag can be a
[00:53:54] very real attack, but if you use it as a
[00:53:58] pretext for something that is based on a
[00:54:00] false assessment of that event, um that
[00:54:04] that could be qualified as a false flag
[00:54:06] as well. So, obviously, there's no
[00:54:07] indication that this is a false flag. It
[00:54:09] looks like this is a very real tragedy.
[00:54:10] Every indication so far is that this is
[00:54:12] a real shooting. Although, we don't have
[00:54:13] a lot of visibility into it. I'm
[00:54:15] certainly not about to assume that it's
[00:54:18] fake. Uh that's not my my take on this
[00:54:20] at all.
[00:54:22] It seems like it's just updates this
[00:54:24] evening.
[00:54:24] >> Another tragedy.
[00:54:28] >> Hold on, Pat. We're going to take
[00:54:29] Nisha's question first and and chief,
[00:54:31] this might be for you, please. What was
[00:54:32] that?
[00:54:33] >> What time did police arrive at the scene
[00:54:34] after the first 911 call?
[00:54:36] >> The exact time, I don't know, but it's
[00:54:38] um Baris and Holly is 184 Hope Street
[00:54:42] and it's a very short drive from us. So,
[00:54:44] I would say minutes.
[00:54:46] >> How about for police? When were they
[00:54:48] contacted? We we whenever we were
[00:54:50] called, we responded immediately and and
[00:54:52] immediately entered that building
[00:54:54] looking for the shooter.
[00:54:55] >> We'll provide a a timeline later in the
[00:54:57] evening.
[00:54:57] >> How often do does do the various law
[00:54:59] enforcement agencies prepare for
[00:55:01] situations like this? Do they do active
[00:55:03] shooter simulations, trainings,
[00:55:05] establishing perimeters? Um talk a
[00:55:08] little bit about that training that goes
[00:55:09] into this multi- agency response.
[00:55:11] >> Uh certainly
[00:55:12] >> Go ahead.
[00:55:13] >> Certainly welcome you to as well. Um, we
[00:55:16] just did a few months ago a joint
[00:55:17] training Brown PD and Providence PD.
[00:55:21] >> So based on what he just said, 184 Hope
[00:55:24] Street,
[00:55:26] that would be this location. Dismissed
[00:55:29] that. Um, the Prince Engineering
[00:55:33] Laboratory,
[00:55:37] the Department of Physics, Baris and
[00:55:39] Holly right here.
[00:55:42] So, this would be the building complex
[00:55:44] within which the shooting occurred. I
[00:55:47] forget. Did they say that he came out
[00:55:48] the south entrance when he was finished?
[00:55:51] Did they say that the suspect exited out
[00:55:53] the south entrance?
[00:55:55] Because that would be the the wall that
[00:55:57] we're looking at right now would be this
[00:55:58] side.
[00:56:01] Is Stacy out here gifting more subs
[00:56:03] again? Of course she is. Stacy being a
[00:56:05] legend as always.
[00:56:07] Yeah, right.
[00:56:10] Um
[00:56:15] the Hope Street exit
[00:56:23] unfortunately uh
[00:56:31] okay so the right hand side
[00:56:36] so allegedly shooter left out the doors
[00:56:39] on this side of the building.
[00:56:43] That's not a very clarifying statement
[00:56:46] of how he exited, but this is the
[00:56:49] building within which it occurred with
[00:56:52] Brown University proper being sort of
[00:56:54] off to the I guess to the west of this
[00:56:59] complex.
[00:57:10] in Providence Fire and Rescue Task
[00:57:12] Force. It is something we certainly uh
[00:57:16] plan for, practice for, rehearse, but
[00:57:19] never want to see it to come to fruition
[00:57:20] like it did today. Uh but it is
[00:57:22] something that we definitely prepare for
[00:57:24] multiple times throughout the year. And
[00:57:25] as mentioned, we just had a joint
[00:57:26] training several months ago.
[00:57:28] >> Colonel
[00:57:29] >> Chad is saying a 7mm mag was found in
[00:57:31] the bushes at 333 Hope Street.
[00:57:33] Obviously, I can't confirm that. Um,
[00:57:38] Skeptic Squib, you can rewind during a
[00:57:41] Twitch stream. Uh, some people's Twitch
[00:57:43] streams, it seems like you can't rewind
[00:57:44] during the live, but it will be po the
[00:57:46] VOD will be posted afterwards, and
[00:57:48] you'll be able to go back and rewatch if
[00:57:49] you want. I don't know if you can rewind
[00:57:51] mine during the live stream, but there's
[00:57:53] an active shooter that has apparently
[00:57:55] escaped um about two and a half hours
[00:57:57] ago. They shot a bunch of people and
[00:58:03] And um it was at Brown University. This
[00:58:07] is the press conference.
[00:58:08] >> Kate, I would just I'm sorry, John, one
[00:58:10] second. I would just add, Kate, that uh
[00:58:12] the city of Providence conducted an
[00:58:14] active shooter drill, uh a live drill uh
[00:58:17] at a closed school about 18 months ago
[00:58:19] with not just police, but fire, EM, uh
[00:58:23] emergency management, uh and the other
[00:58:25] various uh departments in city
[00:58:27] government that are responding. Uh this
[00:58:29] is a
[00:58:30] >> so yeah how many people you read it was
[00:58:32] 20. We now have confirmation during this
[00:58:35] excuse me during this press conference
[00:58:37] what you see on screen here most you
[00:58:39] can't quite see the whole thing. We have
[00:58:41] confirmation that there are two dead and
[00:58:44] eight in critical condition at Brown at
[00:58:46] the local hospital there the the nearby
[00:58:48] hospital. We do not have confirmation of
[00:58:51] 10 other victims. So we only have
[00:58:53] confirmation of two deceased and eight
[00:58:54] in critical condition right now. sad
[00:58:56] state uh of our country right now where
[00:58:59] you have to plan for these things uh and
[00:59:02] uh and hopefully the community takes
[00:59:03] some comfort to know that their
[00:59:05] Providence leadership has planned for
[00:59:07] this occurrence uh including very
[00:59:09] recently.
[00:59:10] >> Colonel, you said that there was a
[00:59:12] >> your friend is a cop on scene and said
[00:59:14] 20 taken to hospital. That could be
[00:59:16] true. Um chat is saying that they have a
[00:59:18] friend on scene friend that is a local
[00:59:21] cop and it could be that 20 were taken
[00:59:23] to hospital. The report that we got was
[00:59:25] that was just that there were eight in
[00:59:27] critical critical condition but
[00:59:28] stabilized at the hospital. Um so that
[00:59:31] doesn't exclude the fact that possibly
[00:59:33] there's 10 more victims that are not in
[00:59:35] critical condition. Stacy, thanks for
[00:59:37] gifting even more subs. You're a total
[00:59:38] legend.
[00:59:39] >> Final exams going on in the building.
[00:59:42] Where is the campus? Is it are there
[00:59:44] still most students on campus? Have some
[00:59:46] already taken their exams and going
[00:59:47] home?
[00:59:48] >> It's a little bit of both. Some students
[00:59:49] have gone home but there as the provos
[00:59:51] said there's still some camp there's
[00:59:53] still some activity going on pro
[00:59:55] >> we're still in the finals period so
[00:59:57] students who didn't have exams have left
[00:59:59] but we are still
[01:00:00] >> final exam for what class
[01:00:02] >> uh we're not prepared to release that
[01:00:04] information right now there were
[01:00:05] multiple exams in the building
[01:00:07] >> were you there
[01:00:09] justice colonel does the Brown
[01:00:11] University receive threatened chatter at
[01:00:14] any time and in what manner does Brown
[01:00:16] University police monitor that or is
[01:00:19] turned over to Providence Police.
[01:00:21] >> There's a strong rel partnership and
[01:00:23] collaboration between Brown University
[01:00:25] and Providence PD. Any of
[01:00:27] >> what happened? There was a shooting at
[01:00:28] Brown University. It's still uh well,
[01:00:31] it's not active anymore. It happened two
[01:00:33] and a half hours ago. The suspect
[01:00:35] escaped, apparently a male in black
[01:00:37] clothing and maybe a black ski mask.
[01:00:39] They don't have confirmation on what
[01:00:40] weapon was used. We sort of have
[01:00:43] confirmation on the number of victims.
[01:00:44] two are confirmed deceased, eight in
[01:00:46] critical condition, but stabilized is
[01:00:48] what we're told, and possibly 10 others
[01:00:50] that were taken to hospital for a total
[01:00:52] of maybe 20 victims total.
[01:00:54] >> Information like that we will share and
[01:00:56] we also share with the Fusion Center as
[01:00:58] well. Uh, as mentioned, we have no
[01:01:00] verified information, warning, or
[01:01:02] anything related to today's events.
[01:01:05] >> Dan, mayor,
[01:01:06] >> hold on a second, John. Dan,
[01:01:08] >> mayor, you you live right next to the
[01:01:10] building. Were you home at the time?
[01:01:12] >> I was home at the time. Did so did you
[01:01:14] know did anyone come to you to like you
[01:01:16] shelter in place? Can you just give like
[01:01:18] what happened when you found out? Yeah,
[01:01:20] I was I was at home watching the PC game
[01:01:23] and uh uh and saw lights and sirens uh
[01:01:26] go by my house and um uh at which time
[01:01:30] uh Commander O'Hara called me um with uh
[01:01:33] a very preliminary update and then have
[01:01:35] been in touch and uh obviously as you
[01:01:38] point out about a block away uh very
[01:01:40] approximate um through the rest of the
[01:01:42] evening.
[01:01:42] >> That's wild.
[01:01:43] >> I'm sorry. John Dan,
[01:01:45] >> if if someone right now feels they may
[01:01:48] have video that's useful, someone
[01:01:50] running by their house, someone acting
[01:01:52] suspicious, who do you want them to
[01:01:54] contact?
[01:01:55] >> I want them to contact uh the police
[01:01:56] department. Uh call us up. We'll send a
[01:01:59] detective out to there right away and
[01:02:01] see what kind of evidence they may have
[01:02:02] for us.
[01:02:02] >> Should people check
[01:02:04] >> The chat is all conspiratorial right
[01:02:06] now. That engineering building does a
[01:02:08] lot of crazy research.
[01:02:11] Ring cameras, businesses, they should
[01:02:13] video. If they have a ring camera in the
[01:02:15] area area of the shooting, they should
[01:02:17] be reviewing that right now and see if
[01:02:18] there's anything that looks suspicious.
[01:02:20] We'll follow up.
[01:02:21] >> Follow up with that question with all
[01:02:24] with that area and all the cameras in
[01:02:26] >> this happened about 2 and 1/2 hours ago.
[01:02:29] >> That area, you have to have something.
[01:02:31] >> I don't have anything yet, Dan.
[01:02:33] >> Are you looking through it, though?
[01:02:34] >> Absolutely.
[01:02:35] >> Okay. and and the conditions of the
[01:02:36] victims. A source at the hospital says
[01:02:39] that there could be more casualties. Can
[01:02:41] you just gently tell us uh what we know
[01:02:44] about conditions?
[01:02:45] >> We can't speak any further about the
[01:02:46] condition. They are in critical but
[01:02:48] stable condition
[01:02:50] and uh and we will provide additional
[01:02:52] updates as they become available. As we
[01:02:54] have mentioned multiple times and I will
[01:02:56] mention again because it's very
[01:02:57] important um that we be honest and
[01:03:00] transparent with all of you and with
[01:03:02] parents and loved ones who are concerned
[01:03:05] about they've got students who are away
[01:03:06] at school or they have someone who works
[01:03:08] at Brown. Um we're not done yet. And so
[01:03:12] uh while we have no other uh victims at
[01:03:15] this time that we're aware of, it is
[01:03:16] possible. And so uh it's very important
[01:03:20] that that we that we say that this is
[01:03:22] preliminary information that we know
[01:03:24] that there is a minimum of eight victims
[01:03:27] uh in the hospital at this time. Uh but
[01:03:29] it is all subject to change and when
[01:03:31] those changes or if those changes occur,
[01:03:33] we will be sure to share them with you.
[01:03:35] >> Amanda, one more question. Are you
[01:03:37] confident it's just one individual
[01:03:39] you're looking for?
[01:03:40] >> That's the information we have now. Did
[01:03:41] you want to give the phone number?
[01:03:42] People call
[01:03:44] >> 2721111
[01:03:46] or 2723121.
[01:03:51] >> As I mentioned, uh we will we expect to
[01:03:54] be providing additional updates
[01:03:55] throughout the evening. Uh you're if
[01:03:57] you're not on our plus press list,
[01:03:58] please uh see Josh, raise your hand. Uh
[01:04:01] please see Josh. Make sure you get on
[01:04:02] the press. Uh that's where we will
[01:04:04] notify folks about additional
[01:04:06] availabilities throughout the evening.
[01:04:08] As we have more information, we will
[01:04:10] share it. Thank you very much.
[01:04:11] >> Will there be more press conferences
[01:04:12] there?
[01:04:12] >> We expect there will be. Yes.
[01:04:15] >> Okay. So, that's the press conference.
[01:04:20] Um, I've got a little update for you on
[01:04:25] these helicopters.
[01:04:30] These their two flight patterns. One is
[01:04:33] circling and the other one came in late
[01:04:35] and is doing a more erratic kind of
[01:04:37] pattern.
[01:04:39] um
[01:04:41] Helicopters Inc. versus US Helicopters
[01:04:44] Inc. Okay, so actually those are two
[01:04:47] different companies. US Helicopters Inc.
[01:04:51] uh is a news helicopter service.
[01:04:55] Um
[01:05:03] I'll look into this other one. Seems
[01:05:06] regular. There's no weird patterns or
[01:05:08] traffic at any of the other airports
[01:05:10] here. Not at Quanet down below down here
[01:05:13] or at Rhode Island
[01:05:17] regular. Not seeing any weird planes.
[01:05:20] There's some regular jet liners flying
[01:05:23] over top. Um,
[01:05:30] helicopters Inc.
[01:05:33] also a news helicopter.
[01:05:38] electronic news gathering operators over
[01:05:40] the scene. Yeah. So, both of these
[01:05:43] helicopters, I think preliminarily they
[01:05:45] they both look like they're news
[01:05:46] helicopters, so that's all regular.
[01:05:49] So,
[01:05:51] um let's see what uh Agenda Free TV has
[01:05:54] to say after the press conference here.
[01:05:56] Uh condition in the shooting at Brown
[01:05:59] University today. Uh the suspect is not
[01:06:02] in custody. So,
[01:06:05] give me a moment here, guys. Um, but the
[01:06:08] suspect is not in custody.
[01:06:12] >> Okay. Um, chat's asking, "Is it
[01:06:14] confirmed that Candace said big things
[01:06:16] would happen in the second week of
[01:06:17] December?" Yes, but that tweet was taken
[01:06:19] out of context because she was tweeting
[01:06:21] back at um Laura Loomer, who had posted
[01:06:25] a whole bunch of slop about 9/11 and
[01:06:27] about false flags coming and all this
[01:06:29] [ __ ] And uh Candace was just responding
[01:06:31] to Laura Loomer in that tweet. is my
[01:06:33] memory of it. So, um don't
[01:06:38] don't uh read too much into it.
[01:06:44] But it is uh it is false flag season. It
[01:06:48] is definitely a good time to be
[01:06:50] thoughtful and aware to have your to
[01:06:51] have your your eyes out, your ears open,
[01:06:54] your thinking caps on.
[01:06:57] Yeah.
[01:07:02] you I mean operations received. Do you
[01:07:05] need any more?
[01:07:09] >> Damn, his chat is going crazy over
[01:07:10] there.
[01:07:11] >> They just said it. So, a person I guess
[01:07:14] maybe had some shrapnel wound on her
[01:07:17] back or wounds on her back and she was
[01:07:19] in the building at the time of the
[01:07:21] shooting, I guess.
[01:07:25] >> So, we just heard that on the scanner.
[01:07:27] So, sometimes that happens. Sometimes
[01:07:30] with a shooting, you can have people who
[01:07:32] realize they're injured after
[01:07:35] >> on the rescue. What side are you on?
[01:07:41] >> We're on the Pascal. But
[01:07:44] >> we still just have two helicopters.
[01:07:47] >> So again, we just heard about a new a
[01:07:49] victim who
[01:07:51] >> apparently got some sort of shrapnel
[01:07:53] injury, I think, on her back
[01:07:56] >> and she was at the original location of
[01:07:58] the shooting.
[01:08:00] But just got
[01:08:02] >> reported.
[01:08:04] >> I'm looking at planes. There's no weird
[01:08:05] planes.
[01:08:05] >> Yeah. As our viewer Jewish Pickle said,
[01:08:07] there could be more people in it.
[01:08:09] Sometimes does happen that people, you
[01:08:11] know, discover
[01:08:13] that they might have been injured in a
[01:08:15] shooting after especially it could be it
[01:08:16] could be a graze wound or something.
[01:08:23] Some people, our viewers are talking
[01:08:24] about adrenaline. Maybe people just rush
[01:08:26] out of there and don't notice.
[01:08:31] I see a helicopter that might be coming
[01:08:32] over from Boston right now, but it's
[01:08:35] hard to say if it's coming to Rhode
[01:08:36] Island or not.
[01:08:39] But there's no weird planes in the
[01:08:41] vicinity at all. They're all just
[01:08:44] passenger planes
[01:08:46] and two news helicopters.
[01:08:50] So, if you don't know what happened
[01:08:51] today, um I see chat says, "Ian, can we
[01:08:55] discuss Baron?" I'm not sure what you
[01:08:56] mean by that, but yes, we can in just a
[01:08:58] second. If you don't know what happened
[01:09:00] today, there was a shooting at Brown
[01:09:01] University about 3 hours ago. Supposed
[01:09:04] >> there are two dead and eight in critical
[01:09:06] condition, but stabilized at the
[01:09:07] hospital and uh allegedly up to 10 other
[01:09:10] victims that were not critically
[01:09:11] injured.
[01:09:12] >> There's another press conference coming
[01:09:14] up in like an hour.
[01:09:16] >> The shooter is still on the loose. was
[01:09:18] not captured. Um, it was a male in dark
[01:09:21] clothing and maybe a dark ski mask
[01:09:24] and they don't really know. We don't
[01:09:26] really have any other details. We don't
[01:09:27] know what weapon was used. Um,
[01:09:31] we have not heard and no, I don't think
[01:09:34] we can watch the Erica Kirk town hall
[01:09:36] unless they put it on a public platform.
[01:09:39] I have a feeling that we'll get in big
[01:09:41] trouble if we stream their like paid
[01:09:46] platform
[01:09:47] viewing of it.
[01:09:49] Um,
[01:09:51] and I doubt that it is going to be on
[01:09:54] YouTube right away.
[01:10:00] That's one day ago.
[01:10:05] Yeah. So, we'll react to that tomorrow
[01:10:07] probably.
[01:10:12] I have a feeling that if it does
[01:10:14] whatever does go out on public platforms
[01:10:17] will probably take a minute before it
[01:10:20] goes out.
[01:10:22] Heard that the suspect is in custody
[01:10:24] yet. So, as far as we know, this person
[01:10:26] is still on the loose.
[01:10:31] uh
[01:10:36] sorrow we are feeling for the victims of
[01:10:38] the shooting that took place today at
[01:10:40] the Baris and Holly
[01:10:44] um
[01:10:47] uh the Baris and Holly Engineering and
[01:10:50] Physics Building. Yeah. So, the shooting
[01:10:53] took place at the Baris and Holly
[01:10:55] physics engineering building
[01:10:57] and that is what it is. um tragedy. No
[01:11:02] indications right now that it's, you
[01:11:03] know, some
[01:11:05] uh sketchy event. No indication that
[01:11:08] it's uh
[01:11:11] something more nefarious than just what
[01:11:14] it
