this [00:00:39] week um you know it's been quite an [00:00:43] interesting place that we've kind of [00:00:45] come to where this video has been [00:00:47] released we're living in extremely [00:00:49] turbulent times um the US media [00:00:53] apparatus and politicians in this [00:00:54] country have been very busy uh carving [00:00:58] up Syria selling us another humanitarian [00:01:01] you know color Revolution balkanizing a [00:01:05] once proud nation and are supporting [00:01:08] Israel's attempts to Annex the entirety [00:01:11] of south of the country um Israel has [00:01:15] switched to focus to the West Bank and [00:01:17] even further with rumors of a wider war [00:01:19] against Lebanon and Iran [00:01:22] circulating the drums of War are beating [00:01:26] once again and this time it's all in [00:01:28] favor of Israel's EXP expansionist [00:01:30] agenda in the region and that sentiment [00:01:34] has of course been backed by pro- us [00:01:36] proar uh pro-israel media around the [00:01:40] world the big winners in any such War [00:01:43] would be of course the high-tech US [00:01:46] military industrial complex who stand to [00:01:49] make billions of dollars supplying the [00:01:52] Israeli War Machine with the Machinery [00:01:54] it needs to continue its destructive [00:01:57] course companies of course that I'm [00:01:59] referring to are the likes of paler [00:02:03] rathon and Lockheed Martin and in the [00:02:06] last year we witnessed Israel commit an [00:02:08] unprecedented and horrifying genocide in [00:02:11] Gaza and we saw these uh companies [00:02:16] profit greatly and play an integral role [00:02:19] in allowing Israel to commit this [00:02:22] genocide and yet it has recently come [00:02:25] out that so many of those media Outlets [00:02:28] um so loudly backed backing us and [00:02:31] Israeli Imperial Ambitions are actually [00:02:34] quietly funded by the US government [00:02:36] through US Aid and so we recently found [00:02:39] out that you know Trump had cut off some [00:02:42] of that funding from USA to go to those [00:02:44] um news organizations and we're going to [00:02:46] be talking about was quite obvious it was [00:03:24] referring to his Riviera plan that he [00:03:25] had been talking about uh during his um [00:03:28] Trump presidency and his son-in-law [00:03:31] Jared kersner who led the um [00:03:36] normalization plan between Middle East [00:03:38] countries Gulf countries specifically [00:03:41] and uh [00:03:43] Morocco to support this uh plan to [00:03:49] modernize the Gaza Strip and make it [00:03:51] into somewhat of this like Dubai style [00:03:55] um strip with hight towering uh [00:03:57] buildings and Yachts and uh just making [00:04:01] it into this kind of elite billionaire [00:04:04] club and I'm going to play this video I [00:04:07] know that everybody saw it and I'm sure [00:04:08] everyone watched it multiple times we're [00:04:10] going to play this video once [00:04:17] again um let's see here G I share my [00:04:20] screen in just a [00:04:22] moment it's the first one yeah [00:04:37] F you like feast and dance the deal is [00:04:40] done [00:05:27] and Palestinian people as somebody [00:05:29] myself who's Palestinian a survivor of [00:05:31] occupation and apartheid who has lived [00:05:34] to see the horrors of what the Israeli [00:05:37] state is capable of um in its ethnic [00:05:39] cleansing campaign and to have just [00:05:42] witnessed this horrifying genocide um [00:05:45] unfold before our eyes it's really [00:05:48] Beyond trolling it's unhinged it's [00:05:51] Psychopathic and it really lifts the [00:05:54] veil um from the US Empire you know a [00:05:57] lot of people are upset and they're [00:05:59] putting all of this blame on Trump like [00:06:01] how could Trump say these things and and [00:06:04] plan these things for Gaza but we have [00:06:06] to remember that it was the Democrats [00:06:07] that basically laid out the plan um for [00:06:12] this to be executed Trump really is just [00:06:16] the Empire with uh the veil lifted he's [00:06:19] the emperor without the clothes and so [00:06:23] we have to also not be just upset and [00:06:27] pointing our fingers to Trump but also [00:06:29] look at this as a reminder that both [00:06:32] parties are the ones that set up this uh [00:06:35] situation in the first place for this to [00:06:37] happen and there's been some uh feedback [00:06:41] from people in Gaza [00:06:43] who um created another video to show um [00:06:47] kind of their perspective on what their [00:06:50] plans are for Gaza because Gaza is [00:06:52] Palestinian and in this unhinged video [00:06:54] that was released by Trump he's showing [00:06:57] the lens of Gaza through an orientalist [00:07:01] lens um this kind of stereotypical lens [00:07:04] about people in the Middle East and that [00:07:06] you know we are you know the wom are [00:07:09] belly dancers we're just sitting on the [00:07:10] beach eating homos and we have Netanyahu [00:07:13] and Trump laying there um without their [00:07:16] shirts on on the beach enjoying drinks [00:07:20] and then we can't forget of course that [00:07:22] image of the golden Trump statue sitting [00:07:25] in the middle and all the money kind of [00:07:27] just up in the air I mean didn't the [00:07:29] United States go to war to Iraq and the [00:07:32] people there took down that statue of [00:07:34] Saddam Hussein I mean what kind of like [00:07:37] glorifying of war criminals um are we [00:07:40] seeing in this video um and so let's [00:07:43] look at the video that Gins have just [00:07:45] released this is was this video was [00:07:47] released by an artist in Gaza and I'm [00:07:50] going to share this [00:09:43] video is actually was released Yesterday [00:09:45] by a group of gazen artists and it's [00:09:48] really showing this kind of you know [00:09:51] prideful place that Palestinians hold [00:09:53] for Gaza considering that it's their [00:09:56] right to keep this land as their own [00:09:59] it's Gaza is a strip that is located in [00:10:02] Palestine and for Trump to release a [00:10:05] video um showing that him and Netanyahu [00:10:07] and Elon Musk are going to be profiting [00:10:10] and rebuilding it through this you know [00:10:12] lens of this Western idea of what Gaza [00:10:15] should look like um is a form of [00:10:20] colonialism I mean that's kind of been [00:10:21] the plan from the very beginning the [00:10:23] United States in its Warfare against [00:10:25] Gaza has been acting as a colonial actor [00:10:28] not just Israel but being backed by uh [00:10:32] the most influential Colonial actor uh [00:10:35] today and so um Robert I want to get [00:10:39] your perspective on this video because [00:10:41] you know you're you've had you have [00:10:43] relatives actually you're not from [00:10:45] Palestine but you are married into a [00:10:47] Palestinian family who has relatives who [00:10:51] are actually from Gaza and so I'm [00:10:53] curious to know how what what has their [00:10:55] reaction been to this Gaza um [00:11:00] this Trump Gaza AI video and I'll kind [00:11:02] of talk about what most Palestinians [00:11:05] have also said as [00:11:06] well I think they take it as somewhat as [00:11:09] a of a joke uh quite frankly because uh [00:11:12] you know it's obviously insulting um but [00:11:15] it's unrealistic as well and Donald [00:11:17] Trump's rhetoric has been taken not too [00:11:20] seriously because of the fact that you [00:11:22] know these threats even that Trump is [00:11:24] making to own Gaza and at one point he [00:11:27] said you know if uh all of the Israeli [00:11:30] captives aren't released um by a certain [00:11:33] date um then you know every building in [00:11:36] Gaza will be gone and the people in the [00:11:38] Gaza Strip and and those as well that [00:11:40] have family who are there know that how [00:11:43] can it get any worse than it already is [00:11:47] most of gaza's infrastructure has [00:11:48] already been destroyed either partially [00:11:52] or entirely basically nobody has homes [00:11:54] left the it has been a fullscale [00:11:57] genocide and so when Donald Trump puts [00:11:59] out these rather pessy videos uh [00:12:02] portraying an orientalist vision of a [00:12:05] Billionaire's playground which really [00:12:07] just mimics Dubai um I don't think [00:12:11] people take it uh all that seriously I [00:12:13] don't think they're scared of it uh [00:12:16] they're Resolute they want to stay on [00:12:18] their lands um and they returned uh to [00:12:22] the north uh for instance my wife's [00:12:25] family is from the north and they [00:12:28] returned back to their homes so this is [00:12:31] like every single person there um is [00:12:34] steadfast they are not scared by these [00:12:37] sort of videos and I think it's more [00:12:39] theatrics maybe for a us-based audience [00:12:41] Trump's base um and also to sort of uh [00:12:46] keep Netanyahu and his Coalition [00:12:48] together and make him and his Coalition [00:12:50] partners and the Israelis feel like [00:12:53] Trump has got their back and that [00:12:55] they're going [00:12:56] to ultimately ethnically cleanse the [00:12:58] Gaza stet and and turn it into you know [00:13:01] the Israelis they didn't say the Riviera [00:13:04] they said uh Singapore you know they [00:13:07] they said that uh you know if uh Gaza [00:13:10] could be they could be turned into [00:13:12] Singapore um so they have this own [00:13:14] Vision themselves um and that's the way [00:13:17] they would look at a potential future [00:13:20] Gaza so it's not just Trump's Vision so [00:13:23] I think ultimately that's been the [00:13:25] overwhelming reaction that I've seen [00:13:27] people are fed up of this nonsense and [00:13:30] these sorts of portrayals of them and I [00:13:33] don't think uh in general from what I've [00:13:36] seen they're even taking it seriously at [00:13:39] this [00:13:40] point well you know it's really [00:13:42] interesting when we look at this video [00:13:44] and I know that's not actually the main [00:13:45] topic of our conversation today but it's [00:13:47] just so outrageous that this would be [00:13:49] released on the president of the United [00:13:51] States uh social media pages but Trump [00:13:55] supporters are actually have flooded his [00:13:57] page on this video and the comment [00:13:59] section if you go on his Instagram for [00:14:01] example and they're saying you know [00:14:03] Trump what is this this is so um [00:14:06] inhumane this is outrageous like this is [00:14:08] not what we voted for you for this is [00:14:10] not what we want you to do this is not [00:14:12] America first um you know I'm [00:14:15] questioning why I supported you in the [00:14:17] first time and so we're seeing a lot of [00:14:19] push back as well from Trump supporters [00:14:21] and I think a lot of the people that did [00:14:24] vote for Trump you know really believed [00:14:26] in his message I guess you could say in [00:14:29] terms of like you know putting America [00:14:31] back first and they really believed that [00:14:33] with him obviously these people didn't [00:14:36] see his first fouryear terms when he [00:14:38] served before and saw that that's really [00:14:40] not what Trump is all about but they [00:14:43] really belied that just like people who [00:14:45] vote for wanted to vote for Camala [00:14:47] Harris or voted for her and actually [00:14:48] believed that she was somebody who's [00:14:50] gonna be better for Trump and better for [00:14:52] women's rights and you know for woman's [00:14:54] issues even though she was the vice [00:14:56] president when um the Biden [00:14:58] Administration handed every bomb to [00:15:00] Israel that destroyed every single [00:15:02] woman's IVF Clin and women's health [00:15:04] clinics inside Gaza a war that [00:15:07] disproportionately targeted women and [00:15:09] children and so once again we're seeing [00:15:12] how American voters are just so out of [00:15:16] touch with like reality in terms of like [00:15:19] what these politicians actually [00:15:21] represent um and their actual policies I [00:15:25] mean haven't we learned by now from like [00:15:27] the bush days the Obama days the Clinton [00:15:30] days that we can't believe every word [00:15:32] that's coming out of these politicians [00:15:34] mouths and they will and have been and [00:15:38] will continue to put Israel first that [00:15:42] is what the policy is it hasn't changed [00:15:44] in fact it's only gotten worse and every [00:15:48] single person in American politics or [00:15:51] whether it's in the political system or [00:15:54] within the US military Pentagon State [00:15:56] Department that has come out to [00:15:59] uh speak out against this they end up [00:16:01] getting pushed on the sideline censored [00:16:04] and attacked and smeared and so the [00:16:06] policies that to support Israel are [00:16:08] going um to continue and so um Robert I [00:16:13] I want to um segue into away from this [00:16:16] Trump video I think we've we've had [00:16:18] enough we've we've heard enough um about [00:16:20] it but let's start with you um you [00:16:22] recently wrote an article for M Press [00:16:24] News called um titled paler CEO Alex [00:16:28] harp teams up up with the alt-right to [00:16:30] censor Israel's critics could you tell [00:16:32] us um who paler is and how they are [00:16:37] silencing Israel's uh [00:16:39] critics so paler is a CIA backed uh [00:16:44] analytics company um specifically what I [00:16:47] was focusing on in my piece uh was its [00:16:51] CEO Alex karp and the noise he's been [00:16:55] making recently because not only is [00:16:57] Palante here deeply connected uh to the [00:17:00] Trump Administration which we'll go into [00:17:03] uh a bit more uh in the show uh but also [00:17:08] Alex karp himself is somebody that now [00:17:11] he's coming out with all of this [00:17:13] rhetoric which the Trump Administration [00:17:14] uses which Ila musk uses which these [00:17:17] figures on uh the alternative right as [00:17:20] they've made themselves uh use about you [00:17:23] know being against uh you know uh the [00:17:26] woke left as they call them um and [00:17:29] cancel culture and that's the sort of [00:17:30] language that he uses whilst advocating [00:17:33] another kind of uh cancel culture [00:17:35] essentially to cancel critics of the US [00:17:39] uh government's foreign policy the [00:17:41] military-industrial complex and of [00:17:44] course Israel as well and the way that [00:17:47] uh he's doing this and framing it if you [00:17:49] see in his new book The technological [00:17:51] Republic he argues that Silicon Valley [00:17:55] it lost its way and essentially you know [00:17:58] uh the intelligent people there uh they [00:18:02] won't uh anymore back uh the depart [00:18:06] Department of Defense the way that they [00:18:07] should and that on the University [00:18:10] campuses um it's the same thing uh the [00:18:13] the students and the professors everyone [00:18:15] has lost their way and he describes this [00:18:17] on University campuses this [00:18:20] critical um Outlook of many of the [00:18:23] people uh there uh that it's uh some [00:18:27] sort of pagan religion he calls it um [00:18:31] and you know the language he's using is [00:18:33] as if he wants to you know rail against [00:18:36] cancel culture um and that he's against [00:18:39] this woke ideology as he calls it yet [00:18:42] the only reason he seems to actually [00:18:43] have a problem with it and the only [00:18:45] thing that he's ever pointed out that he [00:18:48] has an issue with are the student [00:18:50] encampments because he speaks in these [00:18:52] sort of vague uh sentences which it's [00:18:54] really hard to tell what exactly he has [00:18:56] a problem with that is going on in terms [00:18:59] of the discourse on University campuses [00:19:02] but then if you go back to last year [00:19:04] during the historic uh encampments he [00:19:06] was speaking out directly against them [00:19:08] and he actually said in one of uh his [00:19:13] his speeches that he gave at the time um [00:19:16] that if the debate is lost on University [00:19:20] campuses meaning these encampments if [00:19:22] the debate is lost then the US will [00:19:24] never be able to deploy its troops [00:19:27] anywhere in the world in any War ever um [00:19:30] I'm paraphrasing of course slightly here [00:19:33] but he actually says that the the US [00:19:35] won't be able to deploy its military [00:19:37] overseas in general if these encampments [00:19:40] win the debate but what he's actually [00:19:44] advocating the background of that is [00:19:46] that they wanted to prevent these uh [00:19:48] encampments the Trump Administration has [00:19:49] been very much open about that um and [00:19:52] the advocacy was to shut them down to [00:19:54] get the UN pressor the universities to [00:19:57] ensure that the encampments could not [00:19:58] exist and to coordinate that he doesn't [00:20:01] explicitly say cancel them but he's very [00:20:04] very clear in that these are [00:20:06] anti-semites and you know a lot of name [00:20:08] calling um he's in that sphere uh of [00:20:13] rhetoric um and he's basically [00:20:16] advocating that you need to shut this [00:20:19] down and you need to focus on this [00:20:20] because if they win the debate you won't [00:20:22] be deploying your military anyway and [00:20:24] that's his uh number one focus when it [00:20:27] comes to this and if you look at [00:20:28] everything his his General message now [00:20:30] it's very very vague but it's very clear [00:20:33] that it's a message that aligns with the [00:20:36] Trump Administration and aligns with [00:20:38] what we're hearing from many on the [00:20:40] alternative right uh as they call [00:20:43] themselves in in New [00:20:45] Media um to impose another form of uh [00:20:50] cancel culture you know well allow this [00:20:52] debate for now but really we need to [00:20:55] punish the universities if they're going [00:20:57] to allow uh encampments if they're going [00:21:00] to allow the Hamas supporters as they [00:21:02] call them and the anti-semites to be on [00:21:05] campus you know advocating very [00:21:06] anti-semitic things such as end war and [00:21:09] end genocide and you know save children [00:21:12] and bring Aid into Gaza you know very [00:21:16] very uh problematic things uh that these [00:21:20] students are advocating um and that's [00:21:24] what he takes an issue with um and we [00:21:26] see that this is something that it's not [00:21:28] just paler but paler is jumping on this [00:21:31] right Alex karp is jumping on this um [00:21:34] and using that rhetoric of like yeah [00:21:36] we're against these woke lefties and [00:21:39] we're against uh you know this cancel [00:21:42] culture from the left perspective but [00:21:44] only when it comes to like anti-war [00:21:48] stuff you know or anything that's going [00:21:50] to benefit the the working class then [00:21:52] they take an issue with it otherwise uh [00:21:55] you know we don't actually see him [00:21:57] calling out any specific other than [00:22:01] this so on this point that you are [00:22:04] making about the altright um I actually [00:22:07] wanted to show everybody a video from um [00:22:10] Russell Brand's show there's been like [00:22:12] this remaking of Russell Brand but in [00:22:14] fact the video was taken down from his [00:22:16] page and I it was because it was so [00:22:19] horrible it was his response um to [00:22:22] Trump's uh video his a I know I said [00:22:24] we're not going to talk about it but [00:22:26] it's just like a perfect example of [00:22:27] somebody who has kind of been leaning [00:22:29] more towards the right recently and [00:22:32] we've been watching in real time like [00:22:33] the remaking and this evolution of [00:22:36] Russell Brand you know he's a Christian [00:22:38] now he's associating himself with um [00:22:42] with Donald Trump he's whining and [00:22:44] dining with Donald Trump and his family [00:22:47] and he's actually not even vegan anymore [00:22:49] I don't know if anybody knew that but [00:22:50] he's been like this lifelong vegan and [00:22:53] now he eats meat and steak with the [00:22:55] Trump family and he's really changed a [00:22:58] lot and somebody who's being kind of [00:23:00] welcomed with open arms by the alt-right [00:23:02] community and he actually posted a video [00:23:05] the day that Trump released that AI Gaza [00:23:09] Riviera video and he posted a video [00:23:13] Russell Russell branded on his page that [00:23:15] has now been taken down it's it's not on [00:23:17] his page anymore and he basically said [00:23:20] like wow look at how principled Trump is [00:23:24] and how brilliant he is in in finding [00:23:27] great ideas for Gaza and then he went on [00:23:31] I'm actually on his page right now I'm [00:23:32] going to play this video I have not [00:23:33] watched this video so I'm going to be [00:23:35] I'm going to be uh playing this video [00:23:37] now and watching it for the very first [00:23:39] time with everybody else but this video [00:23:41] is um looking [00:23:44] like uh Russell Brand is kind of trying [00:23:46] to make up for the video that he posted [00:23:49] um two days ago in response to that [00:23:51] Trump AI video and the reason I think [00:23:54] he's making it making up for it is [00:23:55] because in the comment section I was [00:23:57] going through the comments [00:23:59] a lot of people who are Christian in the [00:24:02] west who are saying Russell how can you [00:24:04] support what Donald Trump has been doing [00:24:06] in Gaza and his plans for Gaza when he's [00:24:08] when Israel has been wiping out [00:24:10] Christians because you know do Russell [00:24:12] Brand has been presenting himself as [00:24:14] this you know Christian and Jesus Christ [00:24:17] is everything but we all know that the [00:24:19] most historic and uh the native [00:24:21] Christians of the Middle East are [00:24:23] actually from Palestine and they're [00:24:24] being wiped out and their churches [00:24:26] completely bombed and destroyed in the [00:24:28] community [00:24:29] massacred killed wiped off of the Earth [00:24:32] by Israel um and it's managing his page that could have made [00:26:20] that post about the real about defending [00:26:24] uh Trump's Gaza policy but um you know [00:26:27] Alan know you've done a lot of research [00:26:30] um into the people and the platforms and [00:26:33] these billionaires that are kind of kind [00:26:36] of building this new alt right to [00:26:38] support um to support Trump and to [00:26:42] support Israel and to push these kind of [00:26:44] pro-war policies towards people who are [00:26:48] Christian and so I have been following [00:26:53] Russell bran for a long time I've had a [00:26:55] lot of respect for him there's a lot of [00:26:56] things that you know he's done that have [00:26:58] been been really good he's been talking [00:26:59] about you know the big Tech would go could you bring your mic [00:27:34] closer to you [00:27:37] Alan oh sure [00:27:42] so you know 10 years ago Russell was one [00:27:45] of the most outspoken people on the sort [00:27:47] of radical left Outsider um uh parts of [00:27:52] politics constantly talking about [00:27:54] Revolution he would go on television [00:27:57] talking about the dangers of the far [00:27:59] right talking about how people like [00:28:01] Nigel farage was a pound shop Enoch [00:28:04] Powell he said I remember on the BBC and [00:28:07] he would constantly be injecting [00:28:09] revolutionary talking points into his uh [00:28:12] crazy skits or his interviews that he [00:28:14] did but slowly over time he's really [00:28:17] moved to the right and that's really [00:28:19] coincided with his move into alternative [00:28:22] media and moving onto platforms like [00:28:26] Rumble um start starting to talk to some [00:28:30] of the big names in the altright it did [00:28:33] seem that he was looking to try to build [00:28:35] a base and one of the easiest ways to do [00:28:37] that nowadays is unfortunately to make a [00:28:40] right return and start talking to people [00:28:42] like Ben Shapiro or Candace Owens or [00:28:45] anyone from The prageru Cinematic [00:28:47] Universe who have these gigantic [00:28:49] followings none of this is um none of [00:28:52] this is Grassroots of course they have [00:28:55] billionaire backers who will throw [00:28:57] Unlimited amounts of money on [00:28:59] advertising and generally making these [00:29:02] people look good online you know the [00:29:05] amount of money that Ben Shapiro for [00:29:07] example spends just on ads just on [00:29:10] Facebook per day is staggering I mean [00:29:13] he's got probably just on his own he's [00:29:16] got a bigger budget than all of the [00:29:18] truly alternative Anti-Imperialist media [00:29:21] out there so the money is there the [00:29:23] audience is there and I think brand [00:29:25] moved in that direction certainly I mean [00:29:27] the might say uh the sexual assault [00:29:30] allegations might have um played some [00:29:32] role in this to the point where he might [00:29:34] want to just sort of find a new tribe [00:29:36] before those uh came out but yeah anyone [00:29:39] in alternative media and I'm sure we've [00:29:42] all experienced this there are a lot of [00:29:44] people there who if they sell out [00:29:46] there's a big payday waiting for them [00:29:48] there there's a six figure salary if you [00:29:50] want to go and work for some horrible [00:29:52] right-wing think tank or be the face of [00:29:55] you know some YouTube channel that [00:29:57] spouts alt-right reactionary garbage out [00:29:59] there there's a lot of people who've you [00:30:01] know quote unquote left the left or [00:30:03] whatever you want to call it and now [00:30:05] just speak rather than speaking truth to [00:30:08] power they're they're speaking power you [00:30:10] know they're you know complimenting [00:30:12] power constantly so this is all going on [00:30:15] and some of these backers out there have [00:30:18] as I said an unbelievable amount of [00:30:20] money and one of them actually is uh [00:30:22] connected to what Robert was talking [00:30:24] about you know one of these people is [00:30:25] Peter teal who has invested in uh a lot [00:30:28] of these um alternative media platforms [00:30:31] like Rumble [00:30:32] Etc uh there is a fantastic amount of [00:30:35] money out there and I think pil is um [00:30:40] actually influencing alternative media [00:30:42] in a way that a lot of people don't [00:30:44] perceive he is somebody who as Robert [00:30:47] has been talking about is kind of like [00:30:49] an AI war criminal his company paler is [00:30:52] deeply involved in the Israeli [00:30:55] destruction of Gaza but he has his [00:30:56] fingers in so many [00:30:58] pies and one of them is alternative [00:31:00] media and so just as uh Palestine is a [00:31:04] Battleground so is uh so are the [00:31:06] networks of communication internet is [00:31:08] also a digital Battleground for the [00:31:10] Battle of ideas and that is where [00:31:13] billionaires are now funneling their [00:31:15] money throwing huge amounts of uh cash [00:31:17] at this problem to try to prop up [00:31:19] reactionary ideas so genuine um so [00:31:23] genuine forces don't start uh amassing [00:31:26] online that will challenge their power [00:31:28] and their Prestige so for them it's all [00:31:30] about you know gaining clout it's all [00:31:32] about managing uh the population and [00:31:35] managing the narrative and they're doing [00:31:36] that quite [00:31:39] well and can you talk to us more about [00:31:42] paler um and its [00:31:45] role in Israel's assault on Gaza and [00:31:48] Alan I just want to let you know you do [00:31:50] sound a little bit far away I don't know [00:31:51] we did a mic check before we started you [00:31:52] sounded great but now you sound really [00:31:54] far away I'm not sure maybe if you can [00:31:56] hold the mic right up to your mouth not [00:31:58] sure you said is uh crucial [00:32:14] I mean paler is really one of the [00:32:16] cornerstones of Israel's attack on Gaza [00:32:19] at the height of the onslaught in [00:32:21] January [00:32:22] 2024 uh paler announced that it had [00:32:25] entered into what it called a new [00:32:26] strategic partners ship with the Israeli [00:32:29] defense Ministry which would quote [00:32:31] Supply technology to help the country's [00:32:33] war effort uh both parties have mutually [00:32:36] agreed to harness palente advanced [00:32:39] technology in support of Israel's war [00:32:41] related missions um Josh Harris the [00:32:44] company's vice president said that this [00:32:46] strategic partnership aims to [00:32:47] significantly Aid the Israeli Ministry [00:32:49] of Defense in addressing the current uh [00:32:52] military situation in Israel palen is of [00:32:55] course widely assumed to be part of uh [00:32:57] project lavender uh the group has long [00:33:00] provided the Israeli military with vast [00:33:02] amounts of AI hardware and software um [00:33:05] if people don't know project Lavender is [00:33:07] an extremely um notorious and [00:33:10] controversial um project that the [00:33:12] Israeli military has ongoing it's [00:33:14] basically an AI targeted um an AI [00:33:18] powered targeting system um what that [00:33:21] means is [00:33:23] that um paler provides the software uh [00:33:27] report edly that allows the Israeli [00:33:29] military to use AI to generate gigantic [00:33:33] kill lists of Palestinians and to avoid [00:33:35] what they call human bottlenecks in [00:33:38] targeting uh what that means is [00:33:40] basically every Palestinian in Gaza has [00:33:42] been um assigned a number between one [00:33:46] and 100 and it's based on How likely you [00:33:50] are to be a Target to the Israeli [00:33:51] military and your score goes up for [00:33:54] example if you are in a WhatsApp group [00:33:56] with a known Hamas member [00:33:58] or you live in the same building as a [00:33:59] Hamas member or for example you work as [00:34:04] um maybe an ambulance driver who goes to [00:34:07] the scene of a lot of bombings and stuff [00:34:09] that will trigger um your number to move [00:34:12] up and if it goes beyond a certain [00:34:15] number say 70 you are automatically put [00:34:18] onto a kill list um that includes women [00:34:20] and children as well paler itself uh [00:34:24] there was some [00:34:25] um um suggestion and some studies that [00:34:28] showed that paler had a 10% false [00:34:31] positive rate on that anyway um but yeah [00:34:35] uh apparently the Israeli military [00:34:37] really rely on this project lavender and [00:34:39] the human intervention in this is about [00:34:41] 20 seconds just just to check whether [00:34:44] that person is indeed male and that's [00:34:46] all they do and then they use AI to [00:34:49] Target these individuals with smart [00:34:51] weapons and drone Warfare Etc so yeah I [00:34:55] mean paler in January also flew all of [00:34:58] its Executives out to Israel to meet in [00:35:00] solidarity uh there in Tel Aviv it took [00:35:03] a full page advertisement in the New [00:35:06] York Times expressing its total [00:35:07] commitment to the Israeli uh war effort [00:35:11] um the company keeps posting on Twitter [00:35:14] about how Israel is so crucial to it and [00:35:17] you know paler even bizarrely and really [00:35:21] quite um uh in quite a negative fashion [00:35:25] actually markets his products as battle [00:35:28] tested meaning that the company is using [00:35:31] its involvement in the Israeli genocide [00:35:33] against the people of Gaza as a selling [00:35:35] point and it uses uh the information [00:35:39] it's gathered in order to uh better sell [00:35:42] its weapons around the world and that [00:35:44] includes to Ukraine where it is an [00:35:46] absolute Cornerstone of the Ukrainian [00:35:48] military as well it's deeply embedded [00:35:50] itself in with the zalinsky [00:35:53] administration more than half a dozen [00:35:55] Ministries in Ukraine including the [00:35:56] ministry of Defense [00:35:58] depend on paler software to run paler [00:36:01] uses satellite imagery and artificial [00:36:03] intelligence to assess the battle field [00:36:06] in Ukraine and provide its military with [00:36:08] digital kill lists similar to what it [00:36:10] does in Israel so the company is really [00:36:13] uh responsible for most of the Ukrainian [00:36:16] military's targeting so it's really this [00:36:19] incredible company that is involved in [00:36:21] so many of the wars right now so many of [00:36:24] the pro us Wars that are going on and [00:36:27] yet very very few people have even heard [00:36:29] of it this is a tech company if people [00:36:32] have heard of it they think it's some [00:36:33] sort of software company that maybe the [00:36:35] government uses but actually it is kneed [00:36:38] deep in the military industrial complex [00:36:41] and it is a Cornerstone of American [00:36:44] power worldwide and the United States [00:36:46] leases that to its um allies including [00:36:49] in all the big uh uh military hotpots [00:36:52] like Gaza and Ukraine right now [00:37:00] MOS we can call him a big Tech [00:37:04] yep yeah you meeted yourself for a [00:37:06] second there oh sorry about that so a [00:37:09] lot of these big Tech Bros like Peter [00:37:11] teal and Elon Musk have all made their [00:37:13] way within the Trump Administration and [00:37:15] so just again you know we're looking at [00:37:17] people who view Trump as very anti-war a [00:37:20] lot of his voter based believe that he's [00:37:23] you know he's taking on the swamp you [00:37:25] know he's taking on the milit Ary [00:37:27] industrial complex that he's taking on [00:37:30] big Tech you know a lot of the people [00:37:32] that voted for Trump were against you [00:37:34] know vaccine mandates as well they were [00:37:36] against um you know the expansion of the [00:37:40] surveillance State you know and a lot of [00:37:42] these people that supported Trump you [00:37:44] know we probably agree with a lot of [00:37:46] things that they stand for but there's [00:37:47] again voting for somebody who says one [00:37:50] thing but is actively doing something [00:37:54] something else um and so Robert I want [00:37:57] to turn to you and I I I want to know [00:37:59] more about this technology that Israel [00:38:02] is using to surveil and oppress [00:38:04] Palestinians and how that technology is [00:38:07] coming back to the United [00:38:09] States well this is an interesting [00:38:12] component of it because it's not just [00:38:13] paler obviously paler very pro-israeli [00:38:17] it's one of the most sophisticated uh [00:38:19] data mining uh companies out there and [00:38:22] as Allan just pointed out their [00:38:24] technology is used to create kill lists [00:38:28] uh but it's also a PPH of other major [00:38:32] corporations that are involved Google [00:38:35] Microsoft uh Oracle which is actually [00:38:38] you know what CEO is an Israeli American [00:38:42] uh billionaire which owns open AI are [00:38:45] all involved in this and the Israelis [00:38:47] started implementing this technology [00:38:50] specifically the AI technology um in [00:38:53] 2021 in their 11-day War uh with the Gaz [00:38:57] of strip and they bragged about it they [00:38:59] said this is the first ever AI War this [00:39:02] is a high-tech war that theyve they've [00:39:03] fought in the Gaza Strip and that's [00:39:05] where they actually first started using [00:39:08] um The Gospel uh AI system um and a [00:39:12] number of others which they then later [00:39:14] developed but they took a lot of this [00:39:16] technology um and a lot of commercially [00:39:20] available AI technology uh commercially [00:39:24] available uh technology that you know [00:39:26] anyone purchase over in the United [00:39:28] States for instance and they developed [00:39:31] this using the 8200 unit of the uh which [00:39:34] is a branch of the Israeli military [00:39:37] intelligence and uh I believe as well [00:39:40] the Israeli schimbat um so the domestic [00:39:43] uh Security Services in order to uh [00:39:47] specifically design um an AI system and [00:39:50] uh and develop a database for targeting [00:39:53] and the likes and also then there are [00:39:55] Israeli companies which come off of this [00:39:57] as well so not only are these companies [00:40:01] you you look at like paler or even [00:40:04] Google and microsof open AI uh not only [00:40:07] is their technology being used and [00:40:10] weaponized um including things for [00:40:13] instance like the [00:40:15] ability uh to predict the actions of [00:40:20] somebody this technology this AI [00:40:22] technology claims obviously there's a [00:40:25] false positive rate high false POS [00:40:27] positive right here because it's hard to [00:40:29] predict human uh reaction but it claims [00:40:33] to be able to predict the outcome of [00:40:37] like whether a person is going to commit [00:40:39] a violent attack or not and so I believe [00:40:42] this is something that you saw in action [00:40:44] there's this technology which was [00:40:46] developed uh called smart Gunner uh [00:40:49] smart shooter I think um by the Israelis [00:40:52] and we're gonna watch it together yeah [00:40:55] go ahead yeah and and this something [00:40:57] that I believe you saw as well they had [00:41:00] these guns and the claim was at least [00:41:03] and they started testing them is that [00:41:05] they could predict your actions and this [00:41:07] is not just only for the this sort of [00:41:09] Technology as well um but in other uh [00:41:13] areas as well because they essentially [00:41:16] put together this massive database of [00:41:18] information and it just froze out Target [00:41:21] Target Target and comes to a conclusion [00:41:23] even for arresting Palestinians so this [00:41:26] person is been participating in x amount [00:41:28] of protests they posted something on [00:41:30] social media therefore we need to Target [00:41:32] this person and so the question is what [00:41:35] happens these are American companies who [00:41:38] are selling products to American [00:41:40] citizens as well what happens when that [00:41:44] technology is used against you and and [00:41:46] it is starting to be used against [00:41:48] Americans because there are contracts [00:41:50] with these uh uh big Tech corpor uh [00:41:54] companies uh and police departments for [00:41:57] instance and ice so it is actually being [00:42:00] used in the United States already um and [00:42:02] there's this massive connection not only [00:42:05] with you know the past the Biden [00:42:06] Administration but the Trump [00:42:07] Administration now which is investing [00:42:10] huge amounts of US taxpayer dollars [00:42:12] hundreds of billions into this [00:42:15] technology because they see it this AI [00:42:18] technology as being the future um and so [00:42:21] it's something that the testing ground [00:42:23] may be Palestine but it Alo could affect [00:42:26] you uh back in the United [00:42:29] States and I'm glad that you broke that [00:42:31] down because um I don't really need to [00:42:33] give much intro then to this video that [00:42:35] I'm about to share it is 9 minutes long [00:42:38] and we're going to watch the whole thing [00:42:40] because in this documentary I actually [00:42:43] um was in Palestine I traveled to Hebron [00:42:46] and um I basically saw everything that [00:42:50] uh that Robert just broke down for us [00:42:52] including an AI smart shooter and um I [00:42:56] also saw the um smart cameras that were [00:43:02] um scanning people's faces to create [00:43:05] this sort of database that Israel has [00:43:07] called Wolfpack to uh create a database [00:43:10] about all things about Palestinians and [00:43:12] these are the same kind of technologies [00:43:14] that are being used in Gaza to Monitor [00:43:17] and know where every single every single [00:43:19] Palestinian lives and to monitor them [00:43:23] and to know like everything about them [00:43:25] before they enter a checkpoint so so [00:43:27] we're going to watch this [00:43:29] documentary I'm going to play it here [00:43:32] and [00:44:01] presenting this is Hebron known to [00:44:04] Palestinians as the city of Al [00:44:07] Khal this is the West Bank's largest and [00:44:10] most populated [00:44:12] city Hebron is dubbed by Israel as [00:44:14] Hebron smart city where the apartheid [00:44:17] state tests its Draconian surveillance [00:44:19] technology on the Palestinian population [00:44:22] as part of what is called the Wolfpack [00:44:24] surveillance [00:44:25] system this this is a vast database that [00:44:28] includes all information about each and [00:44:30] every single Palestinian including where [00:44:33] they live work go to school who their [00:44:36] family members are and if they are [00:44:37] wanted for [00:44:39] questioning Palestinians in Hebron are [00:44:42] the most surveilled people on the planet [00:44:45] and there is so wherever I go as [00:44:47] Palestinian I can see there's cameras [00:44:50] but those cameras it will never make me [00:44:52] Innocent but something very important [00:44:54] what what make me feel uncomfortable [00:44:57] while I'm crossing through the [00:44:58] checkpoint the soldier asked me to look [00:45:01] at the [00:45:03] camera Ki is a Palestinian activist with [00:45:06] youth against Settlements a non-violent [00:45:08] direct action group that educates [00:45:10] hebron's youth on how to resist [00:45:12] occupation and apartheid through media [00:45:14] and advocacy work during my visit here I [00:45:17] was immediately struck by the dozens if [00:45:19] not hundreds of cameras dotting each [00:45:21] Street these cameras are installed by [00:45:24] the Israeli military on light posts and [00:45:26] on the rooft tops and sides of buildings [00:45:29] these are face scanning cameras called [00:45:31] Redwolf to help Israeli soldiers [00:45:33] identify Palestinians at checkpoints [00:45:35] even before Palestinians present their [00:45:37] ID cards to cross through these cameras [00:45:40] are also used to monitor Palestinians [00:45:42] movement and daily life soldiers then [00:45:44] use the blue wolf app directly from [00:45:46] their smartphones to access the Wolfpack [00:45:48] database on [00:45:51] Palestinians I was likely automatically [00:45:53] enrolled in the Wolfpack surveillance [00:45:55] database by the face scan cameras which [00:45:57] scan people's faces without their [00:45:59] consent or knowledge when a face scan [00:46:01] enters the system it is then compared [00:46:03] with biometric entries in the database [00:46:05] and if you're new here like I am it [00:46:07] enrolls you automatically Israeli [00:46:09] soldiers have even reported that these [00:46:11] cameras can see inside people's [00:46:14] homes so it's not that much easy for [00:46:17] them like to handle with all the [00:46:18] difficulties we are facing and fence [00:46:22] closure checkpoint Soldier cameras [00:46:25] Watchtower everywhere [00:46:27] so many people like for me as [00:46:29] Palestinian while I'm living here I [00:46:31] cannot uh I cannot avoid from this kind [00:46:35] of thing I have to see it every day it's [00:46:37] in my daily life to see soldiers [00:46:39] settlers [00:46:42] checkpoint Amnesty International and [00:46:44] other human rights organizations have [00:46:46] extensively documented Israel's Mass [00:46:49] surveillance project under Wolfpack in a [00:46:51] new report released by amnesty last year [00:46:53] it describes these heavily Draconian and [00:46:55] militarized practices as automated [00:46:58] apartheid that further fragments [00:47:00] segregates and controls Palestinians [00:47:02] this invasive surveillance technology [00:47:04] that targets and monitors Palestinians [00:47:07] compounds an already existing segregated [00:47:09] system of aparte in Hebron where the [00:47:12] city has been split into two zones H1 [00:47:15] and [00:47:16] H2 the two segments of Hebron are [00:47:18] separated by a militarized checkpoint [00:47:20] that allows for the maintenance and [00:47:22] expansion of an illegal settler [00:47:24] settlement right in the middle of terera [00:47:26] neighborhood that overlooks the [00:47:28] Palestinian City's Market this is where [00:47:30] youth against settlements was born after [00:47:32] a Palestinian building that was [00:47:34] initially occupied first by the Israeli [00:47:36] military and then later by Israeli [00:47:38] settlers it was reclaimed for [00:47:40] Palestinian use through a non-violent [00:47:42] direct action and legal campaign but [00:47:45] right now we are talking about more than [00:47:47] 1,800 Palestinian shops are closed more [00:47:51] than 1,000 Palestinian apartment are [00:47:53] empty if you ask me why all these shops [00:47:56] are closed why all these houses are [00:47:57] empty because we I don't have access to [00:48:00] it as Palestinian it make me feel so sad [00:48:03] as Palestinian like to see people came [00:48:04] from the other part of the world and [00:48:06] they can go wherever they want in my [00:48:08] city just feet away from the bustling [00:48:11] shopping market in Hebron is the heavily [00:48:13] equipped Israeli checkpoint 56 where [00:48:16] over 25 audiovisual surveillance devices [00:48:18] and sensors are installed this is where [00:48:21] Palestinians must cross through from the [00:48:23] telera neighborhood to get their daily [00:48:25] Essentials and do their shopping from [00:48:27] the market it's also where residents [00:48:29] must cross through to get to work go to [00:48:31] school to seek health care or visit [00:48:35] family telera is a small Palestinian [00:48:38] neighborhood in Hebron that is now home [00:48:40] to over 700 illegal Israeli settlers [00:48:43] that began squatting here in 1984 these [00:48:46] extremist settlers are heavily armed and [00:48:48] walk around the neighborhood bearing [00:48:50] their rifles whereas it's illegal for [00:48:52] Palestinians to even own a [00:48:54] gun the Main Street running through the [00:48:57] T neighborhood is called sha Street or [00:48:59] translated from Arabic into English as [00:49:01] martyr street that the Israeli [00:49:03] government has now renamed to Chicago [00:49:05] Street in its attempt to erase [00:49:07] Palestinian roots to the land a textbook [00:49:10] example of settler [00:49:14] colonialism walking through Shara Street [00:49:16] felt like we were walking through a [00:49:17] ghost [00:49:19] [Music] [00:49:21] town ghost and something very important [00:49:24] you have to know I'm not happy to see [00:49:26] them sh change my city at front of my [00:49:28] eyes they change everything even the [00:49:30] name of the street the name of the [00:49:32] neighborhood from Palestinian Arabic [00:49:34] name into Israeli sers name sh the [00:49:37] street as I told you it used to be the [00:49:38] Heart of the City each year ISAT and his [00:49:41] colleagues with youth against [00:49:42] settlements hold an annual march called [00:49:44] open sha Street campaign that draws [00:49:47] International attention to the illegal [00:49:49] Siege of the [00:49:51] city not only has Israel occupied and [00:49:54] fragmented this neighborhood to make [00:49:55] room for the Israeli settlers but it's [00:49:57] also altering this area to judaize the [00:50:00] entire quarter meaning planning to [00:50:02] expand its colonization of the area to [00:50:04] ethnically cleanse and displace [00:50:06] Palestinians out of here so Israeli [00:50:08] settlers can take [00:50:11] over this military strategy is used to [00:50:14] protect expand and connect other Jewish [00:50:16] settlements nearby in Israel's quest to [00:50:19] ensure an ethno jewish [00:50:21] state so most of the ban who are living [00:50:23] here they have to stop or they have to [00:50:25] bark their car outside of the checkpoint [00:50:28] and they have they have to come here and [00:50:30] V which is something like you know [00:50:33] difficult so there's some like this some [00:50:36] members of the families they have to go [00:50:37] to theity center of hibron and come back [00:50:40] 10 times day or five times [00:50:43] day barbed wire covers Palestinian homes [00:50:46] that are fenced here to protect them [00:50:47] from Israeli settler attacks and [00:50:51] harassment Hebron has seen some of the [00:50:53] most violent settler assaults against [00:50:55] Palestinians especially after hamas's [00:50:58] surprise attack and Israel's assault on [00:51:01] Gaza in many cases the armed settlers [00:51:03] are escorted and protected by Israeli [00:51:05] soldiers settlers regularly harass [00:51:08] Palestinians throwing garbage rocks and [00:51:10] glass Marketplace where [00:51:22] thousands of Palestinians pass by each [00:51:24] day Israel installed the remote [00:51:26] controlled an automatic Tourette [00:51:28] gunshooter in [00:51:30] 2022 according to Israel's Army [00:51:32] spokesperson the AI smart shooter is [00:51:35] used as a dispersal measure as part of [00:51:37] the Army's improved preparations for [00:51:40] confronting people disrupting [00:51:44] order so there is hundred of family they [00:51:47] use this checkpoint like to reach their [00:51:49] house while they have this kind of [00:51:52] shooter or smart shooter on them it [00:51:55] doesn't make it doesn't make them feel [00:51:57] safe because at any point it could kill [00:52:01] Someone Like You by by accident as the [00:52:04] as they as they [00:52:05] say but the smart shooter only adds to [00:52:08] an already heavily militarized Israeli [00:52:10] presence in the middle of the most [00:52:12] populated Palestinian City where nearly [00:52:14] 40,000 residents reside passing through [00:52:16] this checkpoint was intimidating and a [00:52:18] very terrifying experience that left me [00:52:21] a Palestinian American visitor [00:52:24] shaking as for Palestinians who must [00:52:26] must cross through here every day the AI [00:52:28] smart shooter has left residents feeling [00:52:30] anxious to walk through their own [00:52:32] [Music] [00:52:34] neighborhoods since 2019 the Israeli [00:52:37] military has been expanding its [00:52:38] surveillance Tech to monitor [00:52:40] Palestinians but it's in Hebron where [00:52:42] the Israeli military tests its latest [00:52:44] facial recognition technology before [00:52:46] selling it on the international market [00:52:48] and using it in [00:52:50] Gaza just as Gaza has become a [00:52:52] laboratory and showroom for Israel's [00:52:54] battle tested weapons the success of the [00:52:57] Hebron Smart City facial recognition [00:52:59] technology and database through Wolfpack [00:53:02] to track Palestinians will be used for [00:53:04] Israel to continue to profit off of its [00:53:06] illegal military occupation of Palestine [00:53:09] and surveillance of Palestinian [00:53:11] civilians this automated aparte only [00:53:14] further establishes segregation of [00:53:17] Palestinians and expands Israel's aparte [00:53:20] system and ethnic cleansing of okay a lot [00:53:47] of that footage that was shown in that [00:53:48] documentary is footage that we recorded [00:53:50] while I was there not all of it but a [00:53:52] lot of it was um and it was legitimately [00:53:56] one of the most horrifying experiences [00:53:58] to walk through that checkpoint [00:54:01] specifically like obviously as an [00:54:04] American like we live in such a [00:54:05] privileged Society you know we have this [00:54:08] of course illusion of freedom but you [00:54:10] know we're free to walk without these [00:54:12] you know machine gun looking uh things [00:54:16] uh staring us down while we're shopping [00:54:18] at a mall and yet [00:54:20] Palestinians uh in these neighborhoods [00:54:22] in the tedia neighborhood that I visited [00:54:25] every single day they are faced with [00:54:27] this AI Tourette gun shooter um that is [00:54:30] just like pointed at them while they're [00:54:33] literally like little kids are just [00:54:35] trying to go to school it really is uh [00:54:39] puts big brother to shame and then you [00:54:42] know and then compiled on top of the [00:54:45] um the smart scanners for the faces so [00:54:49] it really is to promote you know smart cities in [00:55:30] western countries for example or they're [00:55:32] promoted you know to track people with [00:55:35] mental health issues and that's usually [00:55:37] how they're presented first as being [00:55:39] used for some sort of good but in the [00:55:41] end they are just collecting data about [00:55:44] us and they're used um as a surveillance [00:55:47] uh [00:55:48] tool and so um where is my here it is [00:55:58] all right so we're going to actually [00:55:59] jump to um a slightly different topic [00:56:02] which is uh talking about this us Aid [00:56:05] Scandal Trump cut funding from us Aid [00:56:08] and it really is extraordinary how um [00:56:13] extraordinary how [00:56:15] um where am I here how the US government [00:56:19] has penetrated our media I mean Nom Cham [00:56:23] n chsky has famously said in the past [00:56:26] that any dictator would admire the [00:56:28] uniformity of the US media and Allan you [00:56:32] recently published an investigation on [00:56:34] our website exposing how the US [00:56:37] government through US Aid is quietly [00:56:40] bankrolling hundreds of outlets and [00:56:42] thousands of journalists around the [00:56:44] world um so not just here in the US [00:56:46] course around the world all of whom [00:56:48] produce Pro uh American content this [00:56:52] investigation is called and one way they have been doing that is [00:58:07] by cutting uh the funding for us Aid [00:58:09] which musk remarkably calls a vipers [00:58:12] Ness full of radical left marxists who [00:58:15] hate America the reality is is that [00:58:17] could be couldn't be further from the [00:58:19] truth USA ID was actually set up in [00:58:21] order to undermine leftist governments [00:58:24] all around the world or just governments [00:58:26] who uh the United States disagreed with [00:58:28] as well and what Trump and musk have [00:58:31] done uh in the course of the last few [00:58:33] weeks is actually uncover a gigantic [00:58:37] network of over 6,200 journalists [00:58:40] working at more than a thousand media [00:58:43] Outlets or journalism institutions all [00:58:46] of whom were being paid on the US dime [00:58:48] to promote the United States and its [00:58:50] interests globally and this was going on [00:58:53] in dozens of countries including many of [00:58:55] the um world's hotspots so for example [00:59:00] uh in Ukraine it was suggested that [00:59:02] usaid actually funds 90% of the media [00:59:06] Outlets still operating in Ukraine of [00:59:09] course there are other US government [00:59:11] departments like the National Endowment [00:59:13] for democracy and uh the Atlantic [00:59:15] Council which is an offshoot of NATO who [00:59:17] also fund uh Ukrainian media so you you [00:59:20] start to get the uh the idea of just how [00:59:23] deep this goes in some countries there [00:59:26] was a study of 20 leading outlets in [00:59:29] bellarus that found that 60% of their [00:59:32] funding comes from usid as well Cuban [00:59:36] Media or at least the anti-government [00:59:38] Cuban media is also uh in a state of [00:59:41] Crisis the Miami based Cub net uh uh [00:59:45] Outlet published an editorial asking [00:59:48] readers for money saying that we're [00:59:49] facing these unprecedented challenges [00:59:52] and that if you don't give us money [00:59:54] we're basically going to go under and [00:59:57] you know from country to Country this [01:00:00] goes on there were similar reports [01:00:02] coming out of uh Pro us Iranian media [01:00:05] media in Serbia in mova in Georgia um uh [01:00:11] Syria Venezuela Nicaragua basically [01:00:14] anywhere you can think of that um might [01:00:17] be something of a Hots spot uh the [01:00:20] United States has got itself funding [01:00:22] these uh media Outlets all over the [01:00:24] place was also very interesting to see [01:00:26] that as soon as usaid cut funding a lot [01:00:29] of the top um people and social media [01:00:32] influencers that were uh just promoting [01:00:36] this very very aggressive anti-china [01:00:38] rhetoric suddenly went very quiet over [01:00:41] the last few weeks which also suggests [01:00:43] something now the way this has been [01:00:46] reported as you said it has actually [01:00:48] been reported in the west by you know [01:00:50] most of the big Outlets like the [01:00:51] Washington Post of the New York Times [01:00:53] And even journalism Outlets like [01:00:55] reporters without borders but [01:00:56] unfortunately what they've been doing is [01:00:58] they've been talking about this as you [01:01:00] know usaid Falls meaning that [01:01:03] Independent Media around the world is is [01:01:06] uh is really in a state of Crisis but [01:01:10] you know we work in the media and [01:01:12] frankly the term Independent Media is [01:01:15] already problematic because the way we [01:01:17] use it in the west it basically means [01:01:19] any outlet that is not owned or funded [01:01:22] by a state institution as if that's the [01:01:24] only kind of dependency the media can [01:01:27] have but even at that extremely low bar [01:01:30] all of these Outlets these thousands of [01:01:32] journalists at nearly around a thousand [01:01:35] outlets around the world they all fall [01:01:38] and the fact that they are either [01:01:40] already going to the wall or sending [01:01:42] their readers um mass emails telling [01:01:45] them that they absolutely need funding [01:01:47] otherwise they're going uh they're going [01:01:49] under they're already firing staff shows [01:01:52] that they weren't independent in the [01:01:53] slightest in fact it's clear that they [01:01:55] were totally dependent on Washington for [01:01:58] their very existence and that really [01:02:01] speaks to a wider issue that I [01:02:04] constantly bring up in my reporting [01:02:05] which is um the world of information is [01:02:09] really a battlefield your eyeballs there [01:02:11] is a gigantic silent fight going on for [01:02:15] control over what you think about what [01:02:17] you see what you read and what you don't [01:02:20] see as well and this silent battle is [01:02:23] absolutely raging and we have to be [01:02:26] really clear about this we have to be [01:02:28] critical media literacy analysts we have [01:02:31] to really be scrutinizing everything we [01:02:33] read seeing where it comes from who the [01:02:36] funders are what it biases is what his [01:02:39] biases he are we need to know this kind [01:02:42] of information and the fact that the [01:02:44] United States government this is just [01:02:46] one Department of the United States [01:02:47] government we're not talking about the [01:02:49] CIA the Ned the iri uh all of these [01:02:52] groups that also uh pump money into [01:02:55] foreign uh news [01:02:56] outlets that these have been exposed at [01:02:59] the drop of a hat just shows the [01:03:02] enormous networks of influence the [01:03:04] United States has over the rest of the [01:03:06] world no other country can come close [01:03:09] the wildest fantasies of what Russia has [01:03:11] been up to globally or in the United [01:03:13] States don't amount to like a toothpick [01:03:17] in a forest compared to what is very [01:03:19] real and what is clearly being exposed [01:03:21] by these things but is being number one [01:03:24] ignored mostly by media and number two [01:03:26] decried as this uh you know threat [01:03:29] against Independent Media they're not [01:03:31] independent and that's absolutely clear [01:03:33] by the fact that they're taking hundreds [01:03:35] of millions of dollars from Washington [01:03:38] and they wouldn't exist otherwise so [01:03:40] yeah to some up this is an extraordinary [01:03:43] story about the power of the United [01:03:46] States and how it uses that soft power [01:03:49] all over the world to try to win hearts [01:03:52] and minds and try to turn people against [01:03:54] uh us enemy and try to control the [01:03:57] narrative both in the media on social [01:03:59] media online offline this is propaganda [01:04:03] in action and I think the quote that you [01:04:05] uh summed up you started with from no [01:04:08] trky really sums that up perfectly [01:04:10] everybody should be knowing about this [01:04:12] everybody who cares about truth should [01:04:14] be following the story uh very very [01:04:17] closely because it really gets to the [01:04:19] [01:05:17] propagandizing and pushing for people on [01:05:19] the right to be pro-israel her entire [01:05:23] message however seems to be based on [01:05:26] this fear-mongering about Hamas and [01:05:28] Palestinians in general she has claimed [01:05:30] that Hamas is linked to alqa she's [01:05:33] basically painted this you know [01:05:36] caricature about Palestinians in Gaza as [01:05:39] being supporters of terrorism very [01:05:41] similar to like that post 911 caricature [01:05:44] that was painted about Muslims to [01:05:46] justify um the Bush's you know war on [01:05:50] terror um and she also has made the [01:05:53] claims that Hamas was involved in 911 I [01:05:56] mean this lady is completely ridiculous [01:05:58] and unfortunately a lot of people on the [01:06:00] right believe these kinds of things [01:06:02] because of that underlying racism that [01:06:06] exists within the right against Muslims [01:06:09] that islamophobia that has kind of [01:06:11] lingered within um the right and of [01:06:14] course not everybody on the right is [01:06:15] like that but that is kind of an [01:06:17] underlying tone that has um you know [01:06:21] dirtied kind of that that movement um [01:06:24] and so [01:06:26] she's also made the claim that Hamas um [01:06:30] you know are planning huge attacks on [01:06:33] the west and that October 7th is coming [01:06:36] to a country near you in the west and so [01:06:39] it really just reminds me again of just [01:06:41] like that post 911 islamophobia campaign [01:06:45] that was being pushed and pushed and [01:06:46] pushed by uh Western corporate media [01:06:49] under the guys you know to dehumanize [01:06:51] Muslims and to kind of create you know [01:06:54] paint that Rush with the one stroke that [01:06:56] all Muslims support terrorism and you [01:06:58] know they're all against our Western [01:07:00] values and they hate America you know [01:07:02] they don't want women to have rights and [01:07:04] the men are aggressive and and um [01:07:07] they're all like domestic violence [01:07:09] violators um and yet it is really [01:07:11] brought what what is rarely brought up [01:07:13] about this woman Sarah Adams is that she [01:07:16] is a key part of the US National [01:07:19] Security State um Adams was a CIA [01:07:23] operative she's an Air Force um analyst [01:07:26] and she's the chief of operations for a [01:07:28] group a working group inside of Ukraine [01:07:32] and she's being kind of propped up as [01:07:34] this like expert on the subject matter [01:07:36] and yeah sure she's an expert on kind of [01:07:39] pushing this uh us propaganda campaign [01:07:42] to push that um to justify us support [01:07:46] for Israel so she's clearly a Zionist [01:07:49] and Robert we just have about five [01:07:51] minutes left but if you can kind of wrap [01:07:53] up this conversation about Sarah Adam [01:07:56] you've actually written about her um and [01:07:59] so I want to know if you can tell us a [01:08:00] little bit more about her and this [01:08:02] story well I think it's even more [01:08:05] Sinister than uh what you were saying uh [01:08:08] obviously her and uh who she is she's [01:08:11] been floating around for a bit but I [01:08:14] hadn't paid any attention I didn't know [01:08:16] who she was until December of last year [01:08:18] when she suddenly appeared on uh the [01:08:21] Shan Ryan Show which is like a podcast [01:08:25] also Sean Ryan is also an ex uh member [01:08:29] of the CIA um and there's this sort of [01:08:32] web this network of people who are [01:08:35] excia um you know like for Sarah Adams [01:08:39] just last year she was working in uh a [01:08:42] role under the US uh Biden [01:08:44] Administration um so these are people [01:08:46] that are very much still part of the US [01:08:49] government still part of that uh sphere [01:08:53] um and they're being presented [01:08:56] as if they're almost like conspiracy [01:08:57] theorists they're going against the the [01:08:59] grain they're here to like the Insiders [01:09:02] to let you know what they don't want you [01:09:05] to know whoever they are right because [01:09:08] they're on their side right um and so [01:09:11] that's how it's presented like through [01:09:13] podcasts and it's all like you know [01:09:15] Social Media stuff and and they're [01:09:17] coming out and it's like oh you know the [01:09:20] alternative media perspective and [01:09:22] they're letting you know from the inside [01:09:23] these people they know what they're [01:09:25] talking about but then if you listen to [01:09:27] what she's saying it's like Fox News [01:09:29] Post 911 that's what she's saying like [01:09:32] now when she talks about these things [01:09:34] people think well this is an xcia person [01:09:37] she knows she's trying to warn us but [01:09:39] what she's saying makes no sense from [01:09:41] anyone with even a rudimentary knowledge [01:09:44] of the Middle East a rudimentary [01:09:46] knowledge of Islam um and so when she's [01:09:48] talking about ham and it's alleged ties [01:09:52] to anyone that knows anything about [01:09:55] Hamas knows that Hamas [01:09:57] destroyed and they destroyed inside of [01:10:01] they destroyed them they attacked them [01:10:03] they had battles with them and they [01:10:05] purged them and those two groups hate [01:10:07] Hamas but she went even deeper on her [01:10:10] social media claiming that Muhammed and [01:10:13] before he he was killed there were like [01:10:15] two or three known pictures of him how [01:10:18] she would possibly have the information [01:10:19] that he's connected to leaders and um [01:10:23] you know trying to connect Hamas to this [01:10:26] wider uh web of operatives she was [01:10:29] claiming specifically 2,000 militants [01:10:33] militants are in the United States ready [01:10:35] to do an attack there's going to be [01:10:37] these waves these floods of attacks [01:10:40] throughout the West they're going to [01:10:41] attack embassies they're going to attack [01:10:43] this and that and the other and very [01:10:44] like quite specific and when you're [01:10:46] listening to it you're thinking well if [01:10:48] she has all of this information why has [01:10:50] nothing been done and isn't she [01:10:52] notifying now Al that their plans have [01:10:54] already been spiled and the CIA knows [01:10:56] about it why would she be talking about [01:10:58] this and then she adds in oh October 7 [01:11:01] was only the beginning and tries to like [01:11:03] Hamas to and it does just doesn't make [01:11:06] any sense I mean now the alq offshoot uh [01:11:10] in Syria which is taken over [01:11:13] Damascus they won't even allow Hamas yet [01:11:16] to come in it's not like they've invited [01:11:17] Hamas in so even the offshoots there U [01:11:22] they don't have anything to do of Hamas [01:11:24] yet um they haven't even allowed them to [01:11:26] come in into Syria there's just no [01:11:29] connection there but she's making the [01:11:31] connection she's wanting to fear Monger [01:11:33] um and it's pushing this Muslim scare [01:11:36] narrative without directly saying the [01:11:37] Muslims are coming she's basically [01:11:39] saying that um and that's what's [01:11:42] Happening Here is it's trying to make [01:11:44] Americans make uh westerners scared of [01:11:47] this Muslim attack that they're all [01:11:48] coming after you and this was also in in [01:11:51] a time uh towards the end of last year [01:11:54] where a lot of Muslim scare narratives [01:11:56] were coming out um and people were [01:11:58] talking about Muslims deceiving the [01:12:00] public and having this Mass agenda and [01:12:03] and doing which we won't get into now um [01:12:08] and she's come in this wave of [01:12:09] information and what's important to take [01:12:12] away from this uh before we obviously [01:12:15] finish off is that it's not just her [01:12:17] she's one component of it uh she got [01:12:20] very popular that YouTube video she did [01:12:22] alone got over 2.6 milli million views I [01:12:25] think very quickly um and then it's [01:12:28] spread like wildfire on social media and [01:12:30] it's being shared in these Circles of [01:12:32] other right-wing figures other excia [01:12:35] people uh other uh people who are [01:12:38] currently working you know in positions [01:12:40] tied to the US government and private [01:12:42] security firms which were involved in [01:12:44] everything from Israeli illegal [01:12:46] settlement um uh all the way to uh [01:12:50] projects in the United States and uh [01:12:53] this is now a web of alternative rights [01:12:58] which is presenting you uh this [01:13:00] narrative or a set of narratives which [01:13:03] are supposed to be anti-establishment [01:13:04] that's how they frame it [01:13:07] anti-establishment [01:13:09] alternative but they're bringing you [01:13:11] within that the exact same message as [01:13:13] Fox News and CNN but it's just through a [01:13:16] different medium using a different kind [01:13:18] of rhetoric to push that point but the [01:13:21] point that they're you know trying to [01:13:23] get through to the audience and and [01:13:26] playing on their ignorance often of the [01:13:29] subjects which are being spoken about [01:13:31] relying on you know CIA background or [01:13:34] whatever expertise that they can claim [01:13:37] um it's essentially you know the old [01:13:41] media into the new media and that's what [01:13:43] we see and I think that's the important [01:13:45] thing to take out of somebody like Sarah [01:13:48] Adams and and the others as well uh [01:13:50] within that Network that she operates in [01:13:54] wasn't it is so fun watching like just [01:13:56] the hypocrisy like okay we have Sarah [01:13:58] Adams and people like who her who are [01:14:00] scaremongering about Al but then we have [01:14:02] official US policy in Syria where [01:14:05] they're bragging about Syria's on our [01:14:07] side and [01:14:08] like HTS now which is a which is a like [01:14:12] branch of alq in Syria of alra front is [01:14:16] being welcomed on the international [01:14:19] stage um and people like Sarah Adams [01:14:22] knows that and she probably supports [01:14:24] that kind of policy um because we know [01:14:27] that a lot of the um you know through [01:14:29] the timber Sycamore program you know a [01:14:32] lot of these Rebels received uh weapons [01:14:34] directly from the United States and so [01:14:37] for people who don't know who Sarah [01:14:38] Adams is we're going to play this really [01:14:41] uh this video of her I just today I'm [01:14:43] really having fun sharing videos with [01:14:45] everybody and I think I think it kind of [01:14:48] oops [01:14:50] it it helps us visualize and put these [01:14:53] things into context so let's share [01:14:59] this this is a this is part of your [01:15:02] investigation actually you posted this [01:15:04] in in the [01:15:12] article a year but it's going to be [01:15:15] multi- City it's going to be a swarming [01:15:17] attack so that's kind of like we saw [01:15:19] with the Mumbai bombings or some in the [01:15:21] Hamas attacks as well they're going to [01:15:23] have about 10% of the attackers suicide [01:15:25] bombers and they're going to bomb [01:15:26] airliners so so there will be a very [01:15:30] large scale attack um on the US Homeland [01:15:32] does it all during a day I'm not sure [01:15:34] but um the terrorists are already here [01:15:37] the plan is [01:15:38] operational well I know for sure [01:15:40] Al-Qaeda has a massive terror [01:15:43] attack I mean this is literally the kind [01:15:45] of stuff that was being played right [01:15:48] after 911 to prepare set the tone [01:16:03] um for what US Empire truly represents I [01:16:08] mean the United States we look at what [01:16:10] Israel has done in Gaza and we're like [01:16:12] this is just Psychopathic right but [01:16:15] really what Israel did in Gaza is [01:16:17] exactly what the United States did in [01:16:19] Iraq and Afghanistan the United States [01:16:23] targeted journalists they Ked killed [01:16:25] women and children they used chemical [01:16:27] weapons they targeted the electrical [01:16:29] grids the roads the main highways um and [01:16:32] they you know fought and massacred [01:16:36] people local Iraqis who resisted us [01:16:39] imperialism there and the same thing in [01:16:42] Afghanistan so like we're just seeing [01:16:45] everything just play out over and over [01:16:48] again it's it's it's all the same uh [01:16:51] policy what Israel has done in Gaza this [01:16:53] genocide is [01:16:55] just you know an outward expression of [01:16:58] what US imperialism truly is and so when [01:17:01] we watch people like Sarah Adams you [01:17:04] know fearmonger in this way it really [01:17:05] makes you wonder like what is the US [01:17:07] planning next but you know even without [01:17:11] Sarah Adams the mainstream corporate [01:17:13] media [01:17:14] really does like this soft propaganda in [01:17:17] pretending to care about human rights [01:17:19] and pretending to care about women and [01:17:21] to care to pretend to care about like [01:17:22] education and like all these like you [01:17:24] know [01:17:25] these things that sound really good on [01:17:28] paper while they're still pushing so [01:17:31] much racism and xenophobia and [01:17:35] islamophobia um you just have to be able [01:17:37] to read between the lines and I hope [01:17:39] that people I mean I know that people [01:17:41] who are reading and watching mint press [01:17:43] you know they're they're they don't [01:17:44] listen to NPR they're not they don't or [01:17:47] if they are you know listening to NPR or [01:17:50] watching CNN or MSNBC they're they're [01:17:53] they have the ability to read between [01:17:55] the lines of what these news anchors um [01:17:58] are saying and when there are people who [01:18:01] are allowed to critique you know us [01:18:03] imperialism um on the networks I mean [01:18:05] they only scratch the surface really I [01:18:08] mean I have yet to see somebody who is [01:18:11] able to take on um the war machine the [01:18:14] way that we do with an independent media [01:18:17] so we thank everybody for joining us
