Senate Republican Press Conference on Border Security as Threats Increase

[00:00:13] secure the [00:00:15] nation here's what we learned this week [00:00:18] in [00:00:19] judiciary the secretary I mean excuse me [00:00:21] the director of the FBI said when asked [00:00:24] about blinking lights threats I see [00:00:27] blinking lights everywhere our turn [00:00:30] since October the 7th now people need to [00:00:32] understand that what happened to Israel [00:00:34] affects you too now we've all chosen [00:00:38] Republicans and Democrats to support [00:00:39] Israel because we should we need to [00:00:42] Hamas would kill all of us if they could [00:00:44] we need to be behind our friends in [00:00:46] Israel what does that mean for us the [00:00:49] Threat Level has gone to a whole other [00:00:51] level since October the 7th post October [00:00:55] the 7th a vertual roads gallery of [00:00:58] terrorist organizations are calling for [00:01:00] taxs against us so what does that mean [00:01:03] the people who want to destroy Israel [00:01:06] are trying to pay us back for helping [00:01:08] Israel President Biden you don't need to [00:01:11] negotiate with any of us you have the [00:01:14] ability as president to stop this [00:01:17] problem now if you choose to use the law [00:01:19] that is available to you why is the [00:01:21] border so broken because the policy [00:01:24] choices of President Biden are not [00:01:27] working [00:01:28] next [00:01:30] I've never seen a time when all the [00:01:32] threats or so many of the threats are [00:01:35] all elevated at exactly the same time [00:01:41] next this was December the [00:01:44] 6th fighting age males lined up as far [00:01:47] as you can [00:01:48] see bottom line is we're urging the [00:01:52] president to get involved and fix this [00:01:55] problem Senator Murphy's a fine fellow [00:01:58] but it's never going to happen as long [00:01:59] long Senator Schumer is in charge of [00:02:01] these negotiations we're going to have [00:02:03] to get the president of the United [00:02:05] States involved he owes it to the [00:02:07] American people to fix a broken border [00:02:09] and when I say broken what do I mean I [00:02:12] mean really broken in the last four days [00:02:15] we've had 40,000 illegal Crossings two [00:02:19] days ago was the highest on record we're [00:02:22] averaging for the last 7 Days 9,400 [00:02:25] people we're on track to 3.6 million [00:02:28] this year alone 6 million up to date uh [00:02:32] when since he's been president larger [00:02:34] than 21 states the threat levels that [00:02:37] are alltime high the uh illegal [00:02:40] Crossings into our country are an [00:02:42] all-time high and my Democratic [00:02:44] colleagues are saying what do we get to [00:02:48] secure the Border you get a safer [00:02:50] country you're not going to get [00:02:52] legalization of illegal immigrants in [00:02:54] this deal this is about securing our [00:02:57] border so we can then help our allies [00:03:00] I'm going to turn it over to my [00:03:01] colleagues but this I cannot and I will [00:03:03] not do I will not go back to South [00:03:05] Carolina and try to explain why I helped [00:03:08] Ukraine Taiwan and Israel and did [00:03:11] nothing to secure our own border I will [00:03:13] help all of our allies but we got to [00:03:16] help ourselves first again you don't [00:03:18] need to change the law for this to stop [00:03:21] you need the president to use the tools [00:03:23] available and change his policies [00:03:25] President Biden had a goal to prove to [00:03:27] the American people he was not Donald [00:03:29] Trump Trump when it came to immigration [00:03:31] and Border policy you have exceeded [00:03:34] Beyond Your Wildest [00:03:36] imagination how many Americans would [00:03:39] love to have the [00:03:40] Border secured like President Trump was [00:03:43] able to do it you can do it you have to [00:03:46] want to do it you have to choose to do [00:03:48] it so these negotiations need to change [00:03:52] the president of the United States [00:03:53] should be involved he is responsible for [00:03:57] this situation more than any member of [00:03:58] the House and the Senate [00:04:00] he is the commanderin-chief and when it [00:04:02] comes to securing our border our [00:04:05] commander-in-chief Joe Biden is awall [00:04:08] Senator [00:04:11] Grassley like Senator Graham my [00:04:14] constituents asked when are you going to [00:04:16] do something about the Border as Senator [00:04:19] Graham said it's already against the law [00:04:21] to enter our country without our [00:04:24] permission but we pass those laws and [00:04:26] they've been on the books for a long [00:04:28] period of time [00:04:30] in turn the [00:04:31] president is the enforcer of the laws [00:04:35] and he has decided not to enforce these [00:04:37] laws Because he believes in an open [00:04:41] border and this is secure has brought [00:04:44] about a national security problem when [00:04:46] you read regularly about [00:04:49] 169 million 169 people on the uh [00:04:54] terrorist watch list that have entered [00:04:57] the country and those are the ones we [00:04:59] know about about because we they're on [00:05:02] record and what I don't get about this [00:05:05] whole thing is if you're on the [00:05:07] terrorist watch list you never get on an [00:05:10] airplane to come into the United [00:05:13] States so how can you fly to Mexico or [00:05:17] however you want to get to Mexico be on [00:05:19] the Terrace watch list and get into this [00:05:22] country without being denied the same [00:05:24] way you would be if you want to get on [00:05:26] an [00:05:27] airplane so we have to do something [00:05:30] about this and it's up to the Presidents [00:05:32] to do it but we need some policy changes [00:05:35] that that's what this debate is all [00:05:37] about I'm really glad that all the [00:05:40] people up here with me and people that [00:05:43] aren't up here with me one week after [00:05:46] October 7th we sent a letter to the [00:05:49] president of the United States warning [00:05:51] him about the fact that uh there could [00:05:55] be uh because of what happened in Israel [00:05:58] terrorist attacks was in the the United [00:06:00] States I don't know whether he took that [00:06:02] very seriously or not but we know that [00:06:05] we expected this to happen from the [00:06:07] people that are on the terrrace watch [00:06:09] list we must secure the Border it's one [00:06:13] of the top three things that the voters [00:06:14] of this country are interested in it's [00:06:17] common sense it's the law the president [00:06:20] of the United States just like we have [00:06:23] of taken an oath to uphold the [00:06:25] Constitution and the president isn't [00:06:27] doing that thanks sir we're going do [00:06:29] this but he your [00:06:31] [Laughter] [00:06:34] last may have me by half an inch I'm [00:06:36] right behind you thanks Lindsay and [00:06:38] thanks for your leadership what [00:06:40] yesterday's vote um should have made [00:06:42] clear is that Republicans are dead [00:06:44] serious about solving Biden's border [00:06:48] crisis as part of the National Security [00:06:50] part and parcel of the National Security [00:06:52] uh debate that we're having on the floor [00:06:54] of the Senate right now and as Lindsay [00:06:56] pointed out this was a policy choice [00:07:01] this Administration made a Clear Choice [00:07:04] when they took office to completely [00:07:06] abandon and do away with the policies of [00:07:08] the previous administration that were [00:07:11] working at our Southern border so much [00:07:13] so now that you have even you know [00:07:15] people like Jay Johnson who was the uh [00:07:18] homeland security department secretary [00:07:20] under President Obama said at the time [00:07:23] that a thousand people a day would [00:07:25] overwhelm the system and that he [00:07:27] couldn't even imagine what 4,000 [00:07:30] a day would look like well now we're [00:07:32] triple that 10 to thou 12,000 people a [00:07:37] day uh these last few days are just [00:07:40] absolutely overwhelming our system and [00:07:41] this is a huge National Security uh [00:07:44] crisis for our country which uh [00:07:46] Republicans are as I said dead set on [00:07:49] solving and we have put forward uh [00:07:52] proposals that are meaningful and real [00:07:55] and serious and at getting at our border [00:07:58] crisis so far far Democrats have [00:08:01] resisted uh this President and Democrats [00:08:03] here in the Senate have to get serious [00:08:05] about fixing this or um not only are we [00:08:08] going to continue to face a a major [00:08:10] crisis a national security crisis at our [00:08:12] Southern border but we're not going to [00:08:13] be able to deal with the other National [00:08:15] Security threats that we face around the [00:08:17] world the lights are blinking [00:08:20] red that's what Chris Ray said the [00:08:23] lights are blinking everywhere I turn if [00:08:27] that isn't a warning I don't know what [00:08:28] is you got people pouring across that [00:08:30] border every day some of whom are on the [00:08:32] terrorist watch list this problem has to [00:08:35] be solved it's got to be solved now and [00:08:37] the Democrats need to get serious about [00:08:39] working with us to make that [00:08:43] happen well it looks like uh We've [00:08:45] finally gotten uh President Biden's [00:08:50] attention 7 million migrants across our [00:08:54] borders since he became [00:08:56] president 1.7 million Goda ways people [00:09:00] evading law enforcement up to who knows [00:09:02] what we know how many people were [00:09:04] stopped on the terrorist watch list that [00:09:06] border patrol intercepted but we have no [00:09:09] idea of the number of people who are on [00:09:11] that watch list who are among those 1.7 [00:09:14] million Goda [00:09:16] ways and there's another number [00:09:20] 108,000 that's the number of Americans [00:09:22] who died of drug overdoses including [00:09:26] fentanyl poisoning last year alone [00:09:29] fentol comes from Mexico the precursors [00:09:33] come from China and they're made to look [00:09:35] like something relatively innocuous and [00:09:38] I've been to six different high schools [00:09:40] where parents are grieving having lost [00:09:42] their child to fentanyl poisoning this [00:09:45] is the number one cause of death for [00:09:47] Americans between the age of 18 and [00:09:51] 45 another number I'll mention is [00:09:55] 300,000 that's the number of [00:09:57] unaccompanied children who been placed [00:09:59] with sponsors in the interior of the [00:10:01] United States that the Administration [00:10:03] has lost track of they can't tell you [00:10:07] whether these children are going to [00:10:08] school whether they're being sex [00:10:10] trafficked whether they're being in [00:10:12] forced into labor involuntary servitude [00:10:15] they don't know and obviously they don't [00:10:19] care so those numbers I mentioned to you [00:10:22] President Biden has been unmoved to work [00:10:25] with us to try to come up with a [00:10:27] solution but now we found [00:10:29] something that uh provides us the [00:10:32] opportunity to force the administration [00:10:34] to do something that theyve been [00:10:36] unwilling to do until this point and we [00:10:39] intend to do everything we can to make [00:10:41] sure that these policies are put in [00:10:43] place to stem the flow of illegal [00:10:45] immigration in our country along with [00:10:48] other all the other uh problems that go [00:10:51] along with it legal immigration has been [00:10:53] one of the greatest blessings that this [00:10:56] country has ever experienced legal [00:10:58] immigration but President Biden has [00:11:00] outsourced our immigration policy to the [00:11:03] cartels who smuggle people by the by the [00:11:06] head for thousands of dollars and the [00:11:09] drug cartels that took the lives of [00:11:11] 108,000 Americans last year [00:11:17] alone our nation faces several grave [00:11:20] threats we have Iran trying to kill [00:11:24] American troops or blow up our ships [00:11:26] every day in the Middle East radical [00:11:29] Islamic Terror groups like Al-Qaeda or [00:11:31] Isis Hamas Hezbollah threaten our [00:11:34] people or rising [00:11:36] embolden and aggressive Russia and China [00:11:39] but there is no more urgent threat to [00:11:42] this nation than our wideopen Southern [00:11:45] border you've heard these numbers [00:11:47] they're astonishing 10 to 12,000 people [00:11:50] a day crossing our border with no right [00:11:53] to be here just put that in perspective [00:11:56] over 3.6 million people in a year it'll [00:11:58] probably be more than that since the [00:11:59] numbers continue to increase that is [00:12:02] more than the entire population of the [00:12:03] state of [00:12:04] Arkansas for that matter it's more than [00:12:06] the entire population of state of [00:12:07] Arkansas by Halloween you can get a [00:12:09] Vermont thrown in for Thanksgiving and [00:12:11] Christmas as well and it's not just the [00:12:15] fact that that puts strain on jobs and [00:12:17] wages for American workers or schools [00:12:19] and Hospital systems and housing but [00:12:21] hundreds and hundreds of those people [00:12:23] are on the terror watch list or they're [00:12:25] so-called persons of concern that could [00:12:28] be infiltrated in our company our [00:12:30] country to commit Mass casually Terror [00:12:33] attacks against our people and they are [00:12:35] here not by accident but because of Joe [00:12:37] Biden's specific policy choices our [00:12:40] border was closed the day Joe Biden took [00:12:44] office now we have 12,000 illegal [00:12:47] migrants Crossing every day because he [00:12:50] abuses our Asylum laws because he [00:12:53] extends parole to vast groups of people [00:12:57] as opposed to a case-by case base even [00:12:59] the day-to-day tactical challenges he [00:13:02] won't let the border patrol defend [00:13:04] themselves or defend what stretches of [00:13:06] wall there are from attack and from [00:13:10] destruction he turns a blind eye when [00:13:12] the cartels are trafficking people [00:13:14] across our border or setting up de facto [00:13:17] travel agencies in the old world that's [00:13:21] why not just republicans in Congress but [00:13:22] the American people say Joe Biden has [00:13:25] done a terrible job on our border and [00:13:28] they are tired of it and they are [00:13:30] demanding change now Senator Graham said [00:13:32] Joe Biden could change tomorrow he could [00:13:34] Implement policies tomorrow that would [00:13:37] not just substantially reduce but almost [00:13:39] entirely stop the flow of illegal [00:13:42] migrants to include potential terrorists [00:13:44] across our border he has shown no [00:13:46] willingness to do that because he has [00:13:48] shown no willingness show up to stand up [00:13:50] to the radical left in his party and if [00:13:52] he is not willing to do that then we [00:13:54] will have to force him to do that the [00:13:56] Democrats and the Senate have not yet [00:13:58] come to grips with that reality that [00:14:01] they are going to have to Grant [00:14:02] significant concessions On the Border to [00:14:05] pass the president supplemental uh Aid [00:14:08] package and certainly the House of [00:14:10] Representatives will demand that and [00:14:12] until they accept that reality the [00:14:14] legislation will not [00:14:16] pass [00:14:22] BR uh Senator Graham thank you for [00:14:24] hosting this thank you for continuing to [00:14:26] bring attention to this and thank you to [00:14:29] all the gentlemen behind me who continue [00:14:30] to work diligently to actually secure [00:14:32] our border that's what the American [00:14:35] people deserve but unfortunately Joe [00:14:37] Biden refuses to give that to them you [00:14:40] know when we look at this emergency [00:14:43] supplemental when we look at this [00:14:44] National Security Supplemental when we [00:14:47] look at what Joe Biden sent us he put [00:14:52] money for the Border in there but do you [00:14:55] know what that was it was stuff that [00:14:57] continues to to facilitate the mass [00:15:00] migration that we see across our border [00:15:03] it was yet more of a magnet to draw more [00:15:06] and more people here now I want to tell [00:15:08] you who benefits from that because we [00:15:10] have both a national security and a [00:15:13] humanitarian crisis on our border the [00:15:16] liberal media has decided to turn a [00:15:18] blind eye to the fact that women are [00:15:21] being raped on our border that children [00:15:25] are being recycled on our border that we [00:15:29] have laws that allow that to happen and [00:15:32] actually that that's what some of these [00:15:34] children are going [00:15:35] through guys when are you going to [00:15:38] actually call it like it is and not like [00:15:42] the liberal left wants you to the [00:15:45] reality is these policies are [00:15:49] inhumane you look at the national [00:15:52] security threat of this yall we've gone [00:15:54] through a week where we had 10,000 come [00:15:57] over the Border 10,000 come come over [00:15:58] the Border 12,000 an all-time high and [00:16:01] to what Senator Thun said secretary J [00:16:04] Johnson under President Obama said 1,000 [00:16:07] a day would be a crisis we're hitting [00:16:11] 12 we must secure our border for the [00:16:14] Safety and Security of the American [00:16:17] people I don't want to sit across from [00:16:20] another mama who lost their child to [00:16:23] fentanyl poisoning you know I I don't [00:16:26] want to look out and and see the [00:16:29] travesty that occurs as a result of this [00:16:32] and at the end of the day when we're [00:16:33] putting policies in place to ensure that [00:16:37] we have National Security the first [00:16:39] among all of these must be the border [00:16:43] and youall need to wake up because [00:16:45] Senator Graham asked the questions [00:16:47] yesterday he asked director Ray about [00:16:51] this he said I've never seen a time this [00:16:52] is the response Dr director Ray I've [00:16:54] never seen a time where all the threats [00:16:56] or so many of the threats are all [00:16:59] elevated at exactly the same time he [00:17:03] followed up with I see blinking lights [00:17:05] everywhere I turn he set a heighten [00:17:08] threat environment from foreign [00:17:09] terrorist organizations and obviously [00:17:12] the ability to explo exploit points of [00:17:15] Entry including our Southwest [00:17:19] border Senate Democrats and President [00:17:22] Joe [00:17:23] Biden are putting the American people [00:17:27] last we need to make sure we create [00:17:30] deterrence we need to make sure we we [00:17:33] create safety and we must do more for [00:17:37] the people here at home they deserve it [00:17:40] and that is exactly what we are going to [00:17:42] continue to fight [00:17:46] for actually I want to start by thanking [00:17:48] Senator James Langford who you all know [00:17:50] is on point for negotiating uh with our [00:17:53] colleagues on the other side of the [00:17:54] aisle for the work he's doing um and my [00:17:57] colleagues here who are were also having [00:17:59] discussions trying to get to a good [00:18:00] outcome also want to thank border patrol [00:18:03] and Customs agents whose morale is at an [00:18:05] all-time low they know that they're [00:18:07] overrun they're dreading going to work [00:18:09] every day because they know they're not [00:18:11] going to succeed at their mission this [00:18:13] President could end this crisis right [00:18:16] now without a single bill being passed [00:18:18] we know he's not going to do that but we [00:18:20] know it can be done because Trump did [00:18:23] this President also knows that the [00:18:25] likely nominee for the Republican party [00:18:28] and many people think the likely [00:18:29] president to be sworn in next January is [00:18:32] Donald J Trump he said on his first day [00:18:34] he was going to shut down the border and [00:18:36] I think he means it and I hope that he [00:18:38] would but you know who's listening to [00:18:40] that right now it's the cartels and if [00:18:43] you don't think that they're going to [00:18:44] ramp up their advertising and try to [00:18:46] double the flows that are already four [00:18:48] times the Trump error flows then you're [00:18:50] crazy and that's exactly why president [00:18:53] Trump's willing to go further because he [00:18:55] knows he's already got a political [00:18:56] problem and it's going to get a lot [00:18:58] worse but let's not talk about the [00:18:59] politics where he's already losing let's [00:19:02] talk about the threat I'll leave you [00:19:04] with this F and I really haven't seen [00:19:05] much attention paid to this but the last [00:19:07] time I went to the border at about 1:00 [00:19:09] a.m I stood on the on the real Grande [00:19:12] river right uh maybe about five or six [00:19:15] feet shy of a fluorescent [00:19:17] arrow with coyotes across the river [00:19:20] saying we're coming now what they meant [00:19:22] by that is they're going to send about [00:19:23] 50 people over so border patrol will be [00:19:26] engaged so that they can bring fenel or [00:19:28] icit materials across the border because [00:19:30] we simply don't have enough border [00:19:31] agents on patrol they said we are coming [00:19:36] now aund uh one and a half million [00:19:38] people have crossed the border over the [00:19:40] last two years that are so-called known [00:19:42] Goda ways we know they came here people [00:19:43] don't go back to Mexico once they cross [00:19:45] the Rio Grande River they do everything [00:19:47] they can but these people are paying a [00:19:50] premium and going through sectors of the [00:19:51] border that they're doing everything [00:19:53] they can to avoid border patrol back to [00:19:55] that fluorescent Arrow if they didn't [00:19:59] have a bad record if they weren't [00:20:01] somebody who was a threat to the [00:20:02] Homeland why on Earth would they pay [00:20:04] money to go through some of the most [00:20:05] dangerous sections of the border to [00:20:08] evade [00:20:09] apprehension why would they do that [00:20:11] unless they've got a bad history or [00:20:13] unless they've got a malign purpose one [00:20:14] and a half million people let's assume [00:20:16] only let's assume only 10% do that's [00:20:20] 150,000 people ladies and gentlemen so I [00:20:23] care about Ukraine Homeland Security I [00:20:26] care about Israel's Homeland sec [00:20:28] security but it would be immoral for me [00:20:30] to put those two ahead of what I think [00:20:32] is a clear and present threat to our [00:20:35] homeland [00:20:37] security seven senators in 21 minutes [00:20:40] that's a record [00:20:43] questions [00:20:45] policy week on policy what exactly do [00:20:49] you want on Asylum and and on the [00:20:51] meeting what did you say to General [00:20:54] Brown did you ask about where he was [00:20:56] born and and tell us the background why [00:20:58] why you did [00:20:59] that yeah I asked him when's the last [00:21:01] time you've been to the border and he [00:21:02] said I was born in Texas I didn't think [00:21:04] that was a good response you know I like [00:21:07] General Brown you know he's a great guy [00:21:09] got nothing against General Brown I was [00:21:11] frustrated because nobody up there knew [00:21:12] anything about the border so when you [00:21:15] when I say when's the last time you get [00:21:16] went to the Border you tell me you're [00:21:18] born in Texas that's not answering my [00:21:20] question so I like General Brown he's a [00:21:22] great guy but they didn't have one [00:21:24] person there to talk about the Border [00:21:26] everything was about Ukraine everybody [00:21:28] behind me will vote to to Ukraine if we [00:21:30] can get the border [00:21:31] right Asylum Andole what would uh number [00:21:34] one start with things that we know work [00:21:37] if you're past the credible fear [00:21:40] standard your hearing is on average what [00:21:42] three or four years four stay outside [00:21:45] the United States once you let people [00:21:47] loose into the country it gets back all [00:21:49] over the world once you get to America [00:21:51] you never leave the first thing you need [00:21:53] to do to stop the flow or slow it down [00:21:56] is make sure that people waiting for the [00:21:58] Asylum hearing are not released into the [00:22:00] country because that incentivizes people [00:22:02] to come cuz once they get released the [00:22:04] belief is you're never going to go back [00:22:06] stop paroling people on mass 240,000 [00:22:10] people were given blanket parole under a [00:22:12] statute that requires an individual [00:22:15] analysis based on substantial benefit to [00:22:17] the country or undue unusual [00:22:20] humanitarian need quit abusing the law [00:22:23] he could do both of those things without [00:22:26] one one bill being passed has been said [00:22:29] he's chosen to let people loosen the [00:22:31] country he's chosen to abuse the parole [00:22:34] law and his choice has led to a broken [00:22:36] border with elevated terrorist threats [00:22:39] Joe Biden has been asleep at the wheel [00:22:41] when it comes to the Border you need to [00:22:42] wake up Mr President before we get hit [00:22:46] Senator Murphy was asked downstairs if [00:22:48] he thought the record 12,000 encounters [00:22:51] at the border on Tuesday was a problem [00:22:53] and whether he shares your desire to low [00:22:56] encounters he says the problem is is [00:22:58] that there aren't enough resources to [00:23:00] process those well these negotiations [00:23:03] should end because he doesn't understand [00:23:06] it's hard to fix a problem if you don't [00:23:08] understand what it's all about if you [00:23:10] think 12,000 people are coming here [00:23:13] because we're under resourc that's [00:23:15] insane they're coming here because they [00:23:18] believe once they get here they never [00:23:19] leave under Biden once you show up at [00:23:22] the border you're going to stay here [00:23:23] forever catch and release is why they're [00:23:26] coming Chris it's not about resources [00:23:29] the PO choices of allowing everybody [00:23:31] apply for Asylum to stay in the country [00:23:34] to wait for a hearing four years from [00:23:35] now is led to a a a surge at the border [00:23:39] parole is being abused it is about [00:23:41] policy choices not about resources well [00:23:43] to be fair the president's supplemental [00:23:45] request was funding yeah the president's [00:23:48] supplemental request was funding to [00:23:50] address the symptoms the symptoms are a [00:23:53] New York mayor saying it's out of [00:23:54] control Chicago saying they' have too [00:23:57] many people sleeping in tense and cold [00:23:59] conditions he was there to actually [00:24:01] request money to address the symptom [00:24:04] we're here to fix the [00:24:06] problem and just to follow up it would [00:24:09] is daaka amnesty in exchange for nothing [00:24:14] nothing to incentivize more illegal IM I [00:24:17] can't think of a worse idea than to give [00:24:19] people legal [00:24:21] status right now legalizing people [00:24:24] incentivize more people to come maybe [00:24:26] I'll be in the next wave of DACA no [00:24:28] legalization secure the border to [00:24:40] happens the SEC uh the director of the [00:24:42] FBI said since October the 7th a Rogues [00:24:46] gallery of terrorist groups are urging [00:24:48] their members and people who are [00:24:50] sympathetic their calls to attack [00:24:52] America what do you get you get a safer [00:24:55] country um two questions and um one I [00:24:58] want to ask you guys on the timeline do [00:24:59] you think this feel is possible before [00:25:01] the end of the year and then secondarily [00:25:03] can you speak to just kind of the [00:25:05] fundamental disagreement seems like [00:25:06] obviously you guys are very much about [00:25:07] deter you don't you want to send a [00:25:09] different message to people that they [00:25:11] don't shouldn't come here that you're get serious and as has [00:26:35] been pointed out I mean the the Democrat [00:26:37] mayor of New York Eric Adams is in town [00:26:39] today meeting with Chuck Schumer and um [00:26:43] talking about what I'm sure he's been [00:26:45] sharing publicly and that is that this [00:26:47] crisis is creating huge problems for him [00:26:49] in New York having to cut education [00:26:52] funding having to close libraries having [00:26:54] to freeze hiring police force I mean [00:26:56] these this this has real consequences [00:26:59] not just for Border communities but for [00:27:02] communities all across this country so [00:27:04] it's got to be dealt with it's got to be [00:27:05] fixed and I think the vote yesterday if [00:27:08] nothing else sent a loud clear message [00:27:10] to the Democrats that that's the case [00:27:11] now the White House is going to have to [00:27:13] engage um particularly if um Senate [00:27:16] Democrats are unwilling to to to to do [00:27:18] what we're suggesting be done but this [00:27:21] isn't a money issue you can't throw [00:27:22] money at it these are these are this [00:27:24] requires changes in policy that change [00:27:27] the signals that we're sending to people [00:27:30] who are coming across the border [00:27:31] illegally and the magnets that are out [00:27:34] there that keep pulling them um and and [00:27:36] that's what Senator Langford and and uh [00:27:38] and others are are trying to accomplish [00:27:40] one last [00:27:41] question men [00:27:43] you [00:27:48] yes well number one that's a really good [00:27:52] question Mr President you may not know [00:27:54] it but you could actually fix this [00:27:55] without any of us doing anything you [00:27:58] could go back to the policy of making [00:28:01] people wait outside the country for [00:28:04] their hearing which is four years away [00:28:05] and here's what I know Works you're not [00:28:07] going to pay $10,000 or $50,000 to get [00:28:10] to the United States to remain in Mexico [00:28:12] for four or five years that's why people [00:28:15] stopped so parole tell your secretary of [00:28:19] uh uh Homeland Security stop paring [00:28:22] people on a mass basis if you did those [00:28:24] two things it would go down dramatically [00:28:26] now about policy fixes we need statutory [00:28:29] changes to make it permanent that the [00:28:32] president of the United States has all [00:28:33] the power he needs to dramatically [00:28:35] reduce the flow to make it lasting [00:28:37] Beyond his administration we need a [00:28:38] statute and here's what he needs to [00:28:40] understand if you don't use your [00:28:42] executive tools or work with us for a [00:28:44] statutory solution none of us who are [00:28:46] supportive of Ukraine Israel and Taiwan [00:28:49] can vote uh on a supplemental because [00:28:52] you're making us pick countries abroad [00:28:56] over our own Homeland Security and I'll [00:28:59] end where I started I've never been more [00:29:02] worried about a terrorist attack on our [00:29:04] nation than I am right now it's just not [00:29:06] me saying it it's all the people in the [00:29:08] intelligence Community Mr President you [00:29:11] are the commanderin-chief you have a [00:29:14] house a plane and a bunch of people [00:29:15] working for you you're in charge of the [00:29:18] intelligence Community you're in charge [00:29:21] of our nation's National Defense Mr [00:29:24] President your own people are telling [00:29:26] you America is exposed and I feel like [00:29:29] I'm in an episode of [00:29:31] 24 the clock is ticking can we get there [00:29:35] in time people tell me they're probably [00:29:36] already here you're probably right some [00:29:39] but after October the 7th the number of [00:29:42] people who want to punish us for helping [00:29:45] Israel is through the roof every day [00:29:48] that Israel has to fight for survival [00:29:51] and
