[00:00:09] Ladies and gentlemen, the President of
[00:00:11] the United States, Donald J. Trump.

[00:01:02] [applause]
[00:01:06] >> clean, beautiful call. Clean, beautiful
[00:01:09] call.
[00:01:12] We love clean, beautiful call, don't we,
[00:01:14] Doug? I'm thrilled to welcome to the
[00:01:17] White House the men and women who light
[00:01:20] our cities.
[00:01:23] And you know, you do things that people
[00:01:25] don't even understand. It's so much. You
[00:01:27] do so much. You heat our homes, fuel our
[00:01:31] factories, and turn natural resources
[00:01:34] into American riches and dreams. Our
[00:01:37] amazing coal miners. Thank you very
[00:01:39] much, fellas. That's great. [applause]
[00:01:47] And I know you well, you know, I know
[00:01:49] you well. I think I get about 97% of
[00:01:51] your vote. And you wouldn't want to do
[00:01:53] anything else. You wouldn't switch with
[00:01:55] a guy who had a beautiful penthouse
[00:01:58] apartment on Fifth Avenue. You wouldn't
[00:02:00] switch with that me. That was me. I had
[00:02:02] a nice easy life. And now I decided to
[00:02:05] do this. But you know what? We just hit
[00:02:08] the highest price in the history of the
[00:02:10] stock market. 50,000.
[00:02:12] And uh a lot of people are getting rich
[00:02:14] with your 401ks and everything else. So
[00:02:17] our country is back. We have the hottest
[00:02:19] country anywhere in the world. So it's
[00:02:20] pretty cool, right? So I want to just
[00:02:22] tell you I really appreciate you being
[00:02:24] your special people. You got mistreated
[00:02:26] very badly for a long period of time.
[00:02:29] But you've never had a better friend in
[00:02:31] the Oval Office than me. And I'm proud
[00:02:33] to officially
[00:02:35] name the undisputed just when did this
[00:02:38] come out, Mr. Speaker? the undisputed
[00:02:41] champion of beautiful clean coal. We
[00:02:44] have to proceed always. I don't use the
[00:02:46] word coal. You know, it needs a PR job
[00:02:48] because had a bad reputation for a
[00:02:50] while. So, we're not allowed to say the
[00:02:53] word coal anymore. It has to be preceded
[00:02:55] by beautiful clean coal. Okay. We're
[00:02:59] cleaning it up. Very good. [applause]
[00:03:05] And we're delighted to be joined by
[00:03:07] Secretary Doug Bergam who's doing a
[00:03:09] fantastic job from the great coal mining
[00:03:12] state of North Dakota. And thanks as
[00:03:14] well to Speaker of the House Mike
[00:03:17] Johnson, a fantastic guy who's doing a
[00:03:20] great job. Thank you, Mike. EPA
[00:03:22] Administrator Lee Zeldon. He's our
[00:03:25] secret weapon. He's getting those
[00:03:26] approvals done in record setting time.
[00:03:28] True. [applause]
[00:03:33] Great senators John Baraso and Jim
[00:03:36] Justice. Thank you very much. Very much
[00:03:38] for being here. Hi Jim. Been a long
[00:03:40] time. Jim, you're looking good.
[00:03:42] Shelley Moore Capido. Thank you,
[00:03:44] Shelley. Thank you very much, Johnny. Uh
[00:03:48] Marshia Blackburn, Bill Hagerty, Ted
[00:03:51] Bud, John, Bernie Marino, and David
[00:03:56] McCormack. All here. Great senators.
[00:03:58] every one of them. Great senators,
[00:03:59] representatives of the House, Jim Bear,
[00:04:02] Troy Balderson, Andy Bar, Dave Taylor,
[00:04:06] Warren Davidson, Troy Downing, Morgan
[00:04:10] Griffith, Brett Guthrie, Harriet
[00:04:13] Hagermanerman, Mike Kelly, Dan Muer,
[00:04:16] Scott Perry, Carol Miller, Dana
[00:04:19] Harshburgger, and Riley Moore. Boy,
[00:04:22] that's a good group of people. We have
[00:04:23] some others in here, too. And I'm not
[00:04:25] going to say it's just too many. Don't
[00:04:26] get angry at me. I'll never get their
[00:04:28] vote again. It's very dangerous. I also
[00:04:31] want to thank the president of the
[00:04:33] Washington Coal Club, Michael Day, CEO
[00:04:35] of the National Mining Association,
[00:04:38] Richard Nolan, along with many of the
[00:04:41] greatest business leaders in this
[00:04:42] powerful industry and a great industry
[00:04:45] it is. But of course, the most important
[00:04:48] people here today are those who get
[00:04:50] their hands a little bit dirty to keep
[00:04:53] America running at full speed. our
[00:04:55] frontline co-workers. And I'm pleased to
[00:04:58] report that in the first year of my
[00:05:01] presidency, real wages for the typical
[00:05:04] minor increased by more than $2,200.
[00:05:07] I'd say that's pretty good, right?
[00:05:09] [applause]
[00:05:15] [applause]
[00:05:15] And I'll give you the bad news. It's the
[00:05:17] first time that that happened in more
[00:05:20] than 27 years. All right? Those other
[00:05:23] presidents didn't take good care of you.
[00:05:26] They didn't take good care of you at
[00:05:27] all. They didn't realize what they had.
[00:05:30] The last time many of us were together,
[00:05:32] I signed a historic executive order to
[00:05:35] ensure that America's beautiful clean
[00:05:38] coal plants would keep running when we
[00:05:41] need it most. And that's 24 hours a day
[00:05:43] in rain, sleet, and snow. You know, coal
[00:05:46] can operate when other substances can't.
[00:05:50] the Biden administration. He had no clue
[00:05:52] what he was doing. Shut down dozens of
[00:05:55] coal plants by they shut him down
[00:05:57] literally. It seemed like one a week,
[00:05:59] one a day. They were shutting them down
[00:06:02] left and right as fast as you could.
[00:06:03] They were paying people to shut down a
[00:06:05] coal plant. And if we had stayed on the
[00:06:08] ruinous path, we would have seen mass
[00:06:10] suffering and rolling blackouts all over
[00:06:12] the country. We would have had blackouts
[00:06:14] right now all over the country. We would
[00:06:16] have had a country that worse than
[00:06:18] blackouts, every other thing would have
[00:06:19] been wrong with it too with all of the
[00:06:23] uh horrible things that took place at
[00:06:25] our border. And right now, our border is
[00:06:28] 100%
[00:06:29] secure. First time in the history of our
[00:06:31] country, right? [applause]
[00:06:37] And you see it all the time. So instead,
[00:06:39] when large parts of our country were hit
[00:06:41] with winter storms, it was coal that
[00:06:45] kept the power on. And it was coal that
[00:06:47] never was bothered by cold weather, warm
[00:06:49] weather. It's never bothered by
[00:06:51] anything. Just keeps on chugging right
[00:06:54] during this vicious storm. And they had
[00:06:57] some really bad ones. Coal generation s
[00:07:00] sur s sur s sur s sur s sur s sur s sur
[00:07:00] s sur s sur s sur surged 31% while solar
[00:07:03] and wind totally collapsed. I'm not a
[00:07:06] big fan of those crazy windmills that
[00:07:09] are all made in China. You know, they're
[00:07:12] made in China, but not used by China.
[00:07:14] Let's look for a couple of wind farms in
[00:07:16] China. See if you can find one. They
[00:07:18] sell us those things for fortunes, but
[00:07:20] we don't do them anymore. Have we done
[00:07:21] any this year, Doug? We're not going to
[00:07:24] do any hopefully for four years in this
[00:07:26] country. They're losers. They lose.
[00:07:28] You're supposed to make You're supposed
[00:07:30] to make money with energy, not lose
[00:07:32] money with energy. and they lose a lot
[00:07:34] of money. [applause]
[00:07:40] And by the way, they're all over Europe.
[00:07:42] And you know, I was uh recently there
[00:07:46] and it's not recognizable what they've
[00:07:48] done to their beautiful fields and those
[00:07:50] beautiful, beautiful scenic areas and
[00:07:53] they put those wind turbines all over
[00:07:55] the place and they're chugging,
[00:07:57] chugging, chugging, not doing a damn
[00:07:58] thing except every time it goes around
[00:08:00] it loses a fortune. It's horrible.
[00:08:02] They've lost their way. Not actually not
[00:08:06] recognizable. And then I wonder why they
[00:08:08] don't like me over there. But you know
[00:08:10] who likes me over there? The people like
[00:08:12] me over there. I can tell you because
[00:08:13] they know I'm right. More than 200
[00:08:16] million Americans across 35 states were
[00:08:19] impacted by the storm. And the only
[00:08:21] reason most were able to take a hot
[00:08:24] shower was thanks to the power provided
[00:08:27] by the most reliable, dependable of, and
[00:08:30] really dependable form of energy that we
[00:08:33] have, and that's clean, beautiful coal.
[00:08:35] Biden and the radical left wanted to
[00:08:38] abolish coal. They did everything they
[00:08:40] could, everything possible. But on day
[00:08:42] one of this administration, I ended the
[00:08:44] war on coal. We terminated the Green New
[00:08:47] Scam and we withdrew from the unfair
[00:08:50] one-sided Paris climate accord. That was
[00:08:53] another beauty we had. We paid $1
[00:08:55] trillion. Nobody else had to pay 10
[00:08:57] cents. Already I've saved 74 coal power
[00:09:01] plants from crushing restrictions and
[00:09:04] closures that would have been forced to
[00:09:06] shut down in the very immediate future.
[00:09:09] And today I'm proud to announce that the
[00:09:11] Tennessee Valley Authority is taking
[00:09:13] action to save two major coal plants in
[00:09:16] Tennessee. Tennessee Valley Authority.
[00:09:18] [applause]
[00:09:25] [applause]
[00:09:27] The plants are the Cumberland Fossil
[00:09:29] Plant and the Cumberland City. It's uh
[00:09:32] in Cumberland City. It's uh a big
[00:09:35] beautiful thing that they just wanted to
[00:09:38] shut down. You know, the Tennessee
[00:09:40] Valley Authority has uh gone in a very
[00:09:43] stupid, very bad direction. The head of
[00:09:45] it, it's considered sort of
[00:09:47] semi-private. It's supposed to be
[00:09:49] semi-public, but it's semi-private. It's
[00:09:51] the highest paid government type
[00:09:54] official in history. I think they pay
[00:09:57] them $10 million a year. They're paying
[00:10:00] them 10 million. I think the speaker of
[00:10:02] the house wants to resign and head the
[00:10:04] Tennessee Valley there. And he could do
[00:10:06] a much better job. I can tell you that.
[00:10:08] Is that right, Doug? They pay him $10
[00:10:09] million a year. Can you believe it?
[00:10:12] Well, Trump is on the scene now. We're
[00:10:14] going to make his life miserable.
[00:10:17] $10 million. I wonder what he got before
[00:10:19] he got that job. Probably making
[00:10:21] 150,000, right? And the Kingston
[00:10:25] fossil plant in Haramman, Tennessee. So,
[00:10:28] they're going to remain open and they're
[00:10:30] going to be vibrant. They're going to be
[00:10:31] improved, built up, and continue to do
[00:10:34] all the things that they do. These two
[00:10:36] plants were slated for termination, but
[00:10:39] we're going to save over 450 jobs by
[00:10:42] keeping them going and going strong. In
[00:10:44] addition, I'm directing the Department
[00:10:47] of Energy to issue funds to coal plants
[00:10:49] in West Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina,
[00:10:52] and Kentucky to keep them online and
[00:10:55] keep those plants open. Hi, Jim.
[00:10:58] [applause]
[00:11:04] And very importantly, we're also
[00:11:06] bringing our coal mines roaring back to
[00:11:08] life. Under four years of the Biden
[00:11:11] administration, Sleepy Joe, not a single
[00:11:14] permit was approved for a new coal
[00:11:16] mining project. Think of it, four years.
[00:11:19] Not one permit, they were all being
[00:11:21] disapproved, actually. So, not a single
[00:11:24] permit was approved. I didn't know that.
[00:11:26] But in one year of Trump, we've already
[00:11:28] approved over 70 permits for very big,
[00:11:31] very powerful minds that are going to be
[00:11:33] with us for many, many years to come.
[00:11:36] And we did that over the last 30 days.
[00:11:39] We did more than half of them because we
[00:11:40] have the system going now. It's very
[00:11:42] reliable source, great great source. Uh
[00:11:46] if you look at some of the most
[00:11:47] prosperous places in the world, they run
[00:11:50] on coal. Since I took office, coal
[00:11:53] production is up by nearly four million
[00:11:55] tons a month after falling for decades.
[00:11:57] I mean, literally decades. Coal power
[00:12:00] generation is up by nearly 15% in my
[00:12:03] first year. And that number is going to
[00:12:05] be about 25 or 30% this coming year at
[00:12:08] least. These pro-American energy
[00:12:10] policies are bringing energy prices way
[00:12:12] down. You see what's happening even with
[00:12:14] gasoline. Gasoline. I was in Iowa last
[00:12:18] week and uh it was $185 a gallon and
[00:12:22] many of them are 199 and 191. I saw we
[00:12:27] have them under $2 a gallon now a little
[00:12:30] while ago just a year and a half ago
[00:12:32] they're at 350 $450 in California $7
[00:12:37] because of the crazy taxes. Coal is one
[00:12:40] of the lowest price energy sources and
[00:12:42] it's probably considered by almost
[00:12:45] everybody to be the most reliable. It
[00:12:48] requires no subsidies because you make
[00:12:50] money with coal. More coal means lower
[00:12:53] cost and more money in the pocket of the
[00:12:56] American citizens and in the pocket
[00:12:58] frankly of the United States of America.
[00:13:00] That's not bad. Every once in a while we
[00:13:01] have to take care of our country. Right.
[00:13:03] With us today is Kayla Blackford who
[00:13:06] drives a hall truck at Bearer Run Mine
[00:13:09] in Dugar, Indiana. Great state. We love
[00:13:12] Indiana. I only like states that are one
[00:13:15] so big, you know. I want to be No, I
[00:13:18] like them all. Where she has worked for
[00:13:21] five years and she's joined by her
[00:13:23] wonderful husband, Eric, who also works
[00:13:25] at the mine and their really incredible
[00:13:29] son, Isaac. And Kayla, if you could come
[00:13:31] forward, I'd like to uh just have you
[00:13:34] say a few words. Please come on up.
[00:13:37] Where's Kayla? Kayla. Oh, hi Kayla.
[00:13:40] [applause]
[00:13:44] [applause]
[00:13:49] Thank you, Mr. President. As he said, my
[00:13:51] name is Caleb Blackford, and I am so
[00:13:53] proud and honored to be here today
[00:13:55] representing Peabody and coal miners
[00:13:57] across this country. My husband and I
[00:14:00] both work at Bayrun Mine in southern
[00:14:02] Indiana. I drive a hall truck and I
[00:14:04] train others on this large piece of
[00:14:06] equipment. A hull truck is used to move
[00:14:08] rock or coal and is capable of carrying
[00:14:11] loads of nearly 250 tons. The tires are
[00:14:15] 12 feet tall. When I stand next to one,
[00:14:17] I barely reach the middle of the tire.
[00:14:19] It's the best job I've ever had. And not
[00:14:21] just because of the cool mom points I
[00:14:24] get for driving big equipment. My job
[00:14:28] supports my family. It supports our
[00:14:30] community. And it keeps the lights on
[00:14:32] and electricity affordable, not just in
[00:14:34] Indiana, but across the country. As
[00:14:37] demand increases and our lives become
[00:14:39] increasingly electrified, America needs
[00:14:42] to generate more electricity, not less.
[00:14:45] For years, coal miners have felt the
[00:14:47] weight of policies that made our future
[00:14:48] uncertain. Over [snorts] the past year,
[00:14:51] that weight has begun to lift.
[00:14:53] my son Isaac who's here today
[00:14:58] [applause]
[00:15:04] has friends whose parents also work at
[00:15:06] Bearrun. And when you grow up seeing
[00:15:08] huge mining equipment from the road like
[00:15:10] Isaac and his friends do, you dream
[00:15:12] about the day when you get to run that
[00:15:14] equipment.
[00:15:15] When a mine closes, families don't just
[00:15:18] lose their jobs. They're often forced to
[00:15:20] leave their communities, their schools,
[00:15:22] and their support systems behind. The
[00:15:25] common sense policies to keep coal
[00:15:26] plants running implemented by this
[00:15:28] administration mean that my husband and
[00:15:30] I can keep working, stay where we are,
[00:15:33] and continue raising our son in our
[00:15:35] community that we call home. And the
[00:15:37] impact is even greater than that because
[00:15:39] you, Mr. President, have single-handedly
[00:15:42] kept utility prices affordable, the
[00:15:44] lights on, and our jobs alive.
[00:15:47] We are real, real people under these
[00:15:49] hard hats. On behalf of America's coal
[00:15:51] miners, thank you, Mr. President, for
[00:15:53] recognizing the value of coal and the
[00:15:56] value of the people who power this
[00:15:57] industry every day.
[00:16:00] [applause]
[00:16:00] >> Thank you so much so
[00:16:04] much for all of you. Thank you.
[00:16:06] [applause]
[00:16:06] Sorry, I'll take that.
[00:16:12] [applause]
[00:16:15] Good job.
[00:16:17] >> [applause]
[00:16:19] >> She did a good job, right? Look at the
[00:16:21] boy. He's so proud of mom, huh? Did a
[00:16:24] good job. Couldn't do better, right?
[00:16:27] Anyway, thank you, Kelly. That's really
[00:16:29] nice. Thank you very much. Cole is also
[00:16:31] critical to our national security, vital
[00:16:34] to everything from steel production to
[00:16:36] ship building and artificial
[00:16:38] intelligence. It's uh incredible what's
[00:16:40] happening with coal and it's also
[00:16:43] incredible how clean they're able to
[00:16:44] keep it now with all of the new
[00:16:46] techniques by using it. They're able to
[00:16:48] do things environmentally that are
[00:16:51] amazing. You see that? That's why I'm
[00:16:53] also pleased to announce that in just a
[00:16:56] moment I will sign an executive order
[00:16:58] that directs the Department of War to
[00:17:00] work directly with coal plants on the
[00:17:02] new power purchasing agreements,
[00:17:04] ensuring that we have more reliable
[00:17:06] power and stronger and more resilient
[00:17:09] grid power. And we're going to be buying
[00:17:12] a lot of coal through the military now.
[00:17:14] And it's going to be less expensive and
[00:17:17] actually much more effective than what
[00:17:19] we have been using for many, many years.
[00:17:22] And again, with the environmental
[00:17:24] progress that's been made on coal, it's
[00:17:26] going to be just as clean. As some of
[00:17:28] you may know, today, February 11th, is
[00:17:31] Thomas Edison's birthday. There could be
[00:17:34] no better way to honor the legacy of the
[00:17:36] man who lit the world. Did you know
[00:17:38] that? The man who lit the world, Isaac,
[00:17:40] do you know that? You ever hear of
[00:17:42] Thomas Edison? a little before your time
[00:17:44] slightly.
[00:17:46] But then to reaffirm our commitment to
[00:17:49] American energy independence and the
[00:17:52] American energy dominance, we're going
[00:17:54] to be dominant and we are dominant right
[00:17:56] now. We uh have a new group of people
[00:17:59] that we're very close to become very
[00:18:01] close to and that's called Venezuela
[00:18:04] where we're taking in uh in this case
[00:18:07] oil. We had uh 50 million barrels of oil
[00:18:10] that we have floating right now to
[00:18:12] Houston to be refined. And we're getting
[00:18:14] energy from all different sources. And
[00:18:16] so oil and gas is fantastic. So many of
[00:18:20] them are so good. But we're not going to
[00:18:21] use the bad ones. America is now the
[00:18:24] number one energy producer in the world.
[00:18:27] We are by far number one. In fact, we're
[00:18:29] going to very we're very soon going to
[00:18:31] be number one by double what number two
[00:18:34] is. And under our leadership, we're
[00:18:37] becoming a massive energy exporter. In
[00:18:39] just the past few months, we've made
[00:18:41] historic trade deals with Japan, Korea,
[00:18:44] India, and others to increase our coal
[00:18:46] exports dramatically. We're now
[00:18:49] exporting coal to all over the world.
[00:18:51] And the quality of our coal is supposed
[00:18:53] to be I mean, I'm not an expert in coal,
[00:18:55] but I've been very good to the people
[00:18:57] that are. Uh the quality of our coal is
[00:19:00] supposed to be the finest anywhere in
[00:19:02] the world. from West Virginia to
[00:19:04] Wyoming, from Ohio to Montana and all
[00:19:07] across the country. We're lifting up our
[00:19:09] hardworking American miners like nobody
[00:19:11] has ever done before. We're bringing
[00:19:14] down costs of American consumers and
[00:19:17] together we're making the most of the
[00:19:19] magnificent land that God gave us to
[00:19:21] rebuild the greatest economy and the
[00:19:23] greatest nation in the history of the
[00:19:25] world. Another one of my favorite words
[00:19:28] is the word tariff. You know, um, tariff
[00:19:31] is very I know they want to hear that
[00:19:33] little story. I used to say it's my
[00:19:34] favorite word. They said, "What about
[00:19:36] God? What about religion? What about
[00:19:39] family and your wife, your children?" So
[00:19:42] now I make it my fifth favorite word.
[00:19:46] Oh, you have no idea. I suffered. I was
[00:19:48] Kayla. I was suffering from the fake
[00:19:50] news media. They were they were really
[00:19:52] they were going after me when I said it
[00:19:54] was my favorite word is. So I make it
[00:19:56] number five. And I think I'm generally
[00:19:58] speaking okay. They'd like it to be a
[00:19:59] little bit later than that, but because
[00:20:01] of tariffs, uh, you saw that we just, it
[00:20:04] was just announced, our trade deficit
[00:20:07] has gone down. Now, if you go down one
[00:20:10] point, two points, you're like a genius.
[00:20:12] It's gone down 78%.
[00:20:15] 78%. Can you believe it? [applause] And
[00:20:18] we have to fight,
[00:20:22] right, speaker? And we have to fight.
[00:20:25] Just came out. Everyone's saying that
[00:20:27] can't be right. 78% 78% reduction in our
[00:20:31] trade deficit and next year we're going
[00:20:33] to be positive if uh we keep it all
[00:20:36] going. We're waiting for a very
[00:20:38] important decision from the Supreme
[00:20:39] Court. But I want to thank the speaker
[00:20:41] is here because you have fought with me.
[00:20:43] You've got you got it very early. Now
[00:20:45] almost everybody's getting it. Uh but
[00:20:48] it's uh numbers that we've never seen.
[00:20:50] The other thing is breaking 7,000 on the
[00:20:54] S SNP and uh very importantly 50,000
[00:20:57] yesterday. 50,000 we broke on the Dow.
[00:21:01] And if you remember when I won they said
[00:21:03] if he could ever produce 50,000 by the
[00:21:06] end of his fourth term by the end of his
[00:21:08] fourth year uh it would be unbelievably
[00:21:12] successful. Well, we produced 50,000 in
[00:21:15] excess. Now went up today. Uh in excess
[00:21:19] of 50,000 at the end of my first year.
[00:21:23] So that's some difference. And that's
[00:21:26] [applause]
[00:21:27] that's because of
[00:21:30] that's because of that's because of
[00:21:32] tariffs. So we're we're doing numbers
[00:21:33] that nobody thought were possible. The
[00:21:35] economy is rich. Uh I tell the story
[00:21:38] that in Saudi Arabia the king said you
[00:21:40] know sir a year and a half ago
[00:21:44] we were all saying you were a dead
[00:21:46] country and now you have the hottest
[00:21:48] country anywhere in the world. That's
[00:21:50] true. We're the hottest country anywhere
[00:21:51] in the world and a lot of reasons.
[00:21:54] [applause]
[00:21:55] So once again I'd like you thank you for
[00:21:59] the tremendous honor of being here and
[00:22:01] especially these gentlemen in the front
[00:22:04] row and a couple of you in the second
[00:22:05] row. What happened to the guys in the
[00:22:07] second row? They couldn't make it to
[00:22:08] their friends. What's wrong with them?
[00:22:09] They don't shovel it as well, right? But
[00:22:12] I want to I want to thank you and invite
[00:22:14] the chairman of our national coal
[00:22:16] council, Peabody Energy CEO, which is a
[00:22:19] great company by the way, Jim Gre, to
[00:22:22] come up and say a few words, please.
[00:22:23] Jim, thank you very much. [applause]
[00:22:31] >> [applause]
[00:22:35] >> Mr. President, we stand here today
[00:22:37] representing the thousands of coal
[00:22:39] miners across the country to express our
[00:22:42] deep gratitude you sir for the actions
[00:22:43] you've taken to support our industry.
[00:22:46] Your leadership and decisive actions
[00:22:48] have sent a powerful message. We have a
[00:22:50] president who more than any other deeply
[00:22:53] understands the importance of coal in
[00:22:55] supporting the future of this nation.
[00:22:57] Sir, you know what most people don't.
[00:23:00] The US has more energy in its coal than
[00:23:03] any nation has in any single energy
[00:23:05] source. We have more energy than Russia
[00:23:07] has in its gas and we have more energy
[00:23:09] than Saudi Arabia has in its oil. Yet
[00:23:12] before you, sir, presidents were afraid
[00:23:14] to allow coal to help keep electricity
[00:23:16] abundant low abundant and low cost. And
[00:23:19] Mr. President, that changed with you.
[00:23:22] We saw the impact of your wise policy in
[00:23:24] real time during the recent winter
[00:23:25] storm. As temperatures plunged and
[00:23:28] demand surged, the coal plants you
[00:23:30] directed to keep open provided the
[00:23:32] stability and resilience that the grid
[00:23:34] needed. And today, thanks to your
[00:23:36] leadership, sir, we are working with
[00:23:38] your administration on the potential to
[00:23:39] build new coal fuel power plants and
[00:23:42] having coal emerge as a source of rare
[00:23:44] earth elements and critical minerals
[00:23:46] that are essential for our national
[00:23:48] security and economic future. Because of
[00:23:51] you, sir, the mining towns that once
[00:23:52] feared for their futures are are seeing
[00:23:54] new investment, renewed optimism, and a
[00:23:58] sense of pride restored. Families feel
[00:23:59] more secure. Local businesses are
[00:24:02] growing again. Communities that had been
[00:24:04] written off are reinvigorated.
[00:24:06] For the thousands of workers across this
[00:24:08] industry, your support has meant more
[00:24:09] than policy, sir. It has meant dignity,
[00:24:12] stability, and the recognition that
[00:24:14] their work matters in making America
[00:24:16] great again. So, sir, Mr. President, on
[00:24:20] behalf of Michael Day, the chairman of
[00:24:22] the Washington Coal Club and all the
[00:24:23] coal miners across our great country,
[00:24:25] I'd like to ask all of first all of the
[00:24:27] uh there's some executives and coal
[00:24:28] miners are going to join us on stage and
[00:24:29] we are going to present you an award,
[00:24:31] sir.
[00:24:33] >> Thank you very much.
[00:24:34] >> Thank you. [applause]
[00:24:42] [applause]
[00:24:46] >> Thank you very much. Thank you so much
[00:24:49] for
[00:25:09] >> Thank you fellas very much.
[00:25:14] sir to to show our appreciation. The uh
[00:25:17] trophy says the undisputed champion of
[00:25:20] beautiful clean cold. Thank you, sir.
[00:25:22] [applause]
[00:25:32] [applause]
[00:25:41] >> [applause]
[00:25:50] [applause]
[00:25:55] >> Don't make a lot of money now, right?
[00:25:57] It's great to bring it back. You were
[00:25:59] treated very badly and now you're
[00:26:01] treated really well. Thank you very
[00:26:03] much. Thank you everybody very much.
[00:26:05] Appreciate it. speaker. [applause]
[00:26:18] >> We don't use auto pens. [laughter]
[00:26:21] There's no auto pen.
[00:26:24] Okay, come on up. That's great.
[00:26:39] Okay, here you go, fellas.
[00:26:42] >> Thank [applause] you.
[00:26:44] Thank you.
[00:26:51] [applause]
[00:26:55] There you go.
[00:26:57] I get up.
[00:27:01] Okay, come on
[00:27:03] >> you guys. Okay, speaking.
[00:27:07] [applause]
[00:27:16] [applause]
[00:27:17] >> Thank you very much.
[00:27:19] Thank you very much, folks. Good luck.
[00:27:22] Make a lot of money. [clears throat]
[00:27:23] All right. Have a good time.
[00:27:24] >> Mr. President, why was the university
[00:27:27] passing?
[00:27:29] >> [applause]
[00:27:35] [music]
