[00:00:00] These tariffs aren't tough on China, [00:00:02] they're tough on American families. [00:00:05] And the court has repeatedly voted on a [00:00:07] the Senate has repeatedly voted on a [00:00:09] bipartisan basis to reject this illegal [00:00:12] trade war. [00:00:13] Congress has the ultimate authority to [00:00:16] undo the tariffs [00:00:19] that Trump had imposed a year ago and [00:00:22] the tariffs that Trump has imposed [00:00:24] today. And we hope our Republican [00:00:26] colleagues will join with us in [00:00:28] rejecting these tariffs because they're [00:00:31] such a burden on American families and [00:00:33] the cost that they pay. [00:00:36] That's it. Let's see. [00:00:42] Yep. Again, one final point to [00:00:45] reiterate. [00:00:46] Congress has the ultimate authority to [00:00:48] impose these tariffs. I am urging for [00:00:52] the sake of American families pleading [00:00:54] with my Republican colleagues to buck [00:00:57] Donald Trump [00:01:00] and not allow him to impose these [00:01:02] tariffs on the American people. Congress [00:01:05] has the power to do it and Congress [00:01:08] should. [00:01:10] Okay, any questions? [00:01:12] >> Um here's something about litigation. So [00:01:15] Trump said that um these tariffs have to [00:01:18] go into litigation. Are there any [00:01:19] repercussions from that? [00:01:21] >> Well, look, um, no one knows exactly [00:01:24] what Trump is doing in the future, but [00:01:28] usually he doesn't care about the laws, [00:01:31] and so my, uh, it's a pretty safe bet [00:01:34] that there will be, uh, there will be [00:01:36] court cases, uh, contesting these [00:01:38] tariffs. [00:01:40] >> You think there'll be refunds? [00:01:42] >> Uh, now that he's reimposing tariffs, no [00:01:45] one knows what the heck he's doing. He [00:01:47] doesn't know what the heck he's doing. [00:01:49] He's flying by the seat of his pants. [00:01:51] The court ruled in a very strong way [00:01:54] against him. So, he said he's imposing [00:01:57] something else. But that something else [00:01:59] a may not last and may be worse the [00:02:02] American for the American people if it [00:02:04] does. [00:02:07] >> Thank you everybody. Thank you.
