the the nc state police here for just [00:03:25] another law enforcement for not only [00:03:26] being able to make this possible but for [00:03:28] being able to keep us safe and i just [00:03:30] want to thank them for their diligence [00:03:32] their hard work every day putting their [00:03:34] lives on the line for all of us [00:03:36] i would also i would not continue [00:03:38] without thanking a few more instrumented [00:03:40] people of this chapter uh first off i [00:03:41] just want to thank for everybody here [00:03:43] all the volunteers i mean it have been [00:03:45] possible without you and especially [00:03:46] jacob here [00:03:47] next president he's coming up um [00:03:49] really he was the backbone i think to [00:03:51] this whole thing so i really just want [00:03:53] to be able to thank him for all his work [00:03:54] that he's done for this [00:03:58] and then also if you are interested in [00:04:00] maybe trying to start a chapter in your [00:04:01] you get plugged in [00:04:11] and then finally we encourage you to [00:04:12] attend the young women's leadership [00:04:14] summit and the student action summit [00:04:16] this summer [00:04:17] there and these are some of the best [00:04:19] events that turning point uh throws on [00:04:21] so i would really recommend coming to [00:04:23] these [00:04:24] uh and i thank you again for for joining [00:04:26] us we will get started in just a moment [00:04:30] it is government's role to protect our [00:04:32] rights against tyranny government does [00:04:34] not give you rights government is not [00:04:36] going to tell you how many people you [00:04:37] got to have over for thanksgiving or [00:04:39] christmas they worked for us the united [00:04:42] states constitution starts with we [00:04:44] the people they work for us everybody [00:04:47] [Applause] [00:04:48] ladies and gentlemen please welcome to [00:04:51] the stage ally stuckey [00:04:56] [Applause] [00:05:02] hey guys thank you so much for taking [00:05:04] the time to be here i love being in [00:05:06] north carolina it's a really good state [00:05:09] i love this part of the country i've [00:05:11] never been to raleigh i've never been to [00:05:14] north carolina state you guys have a [00:05:16] beautiful campus i went to school in [00:05:18] south carolina [00:05:20] furman university and so i'm kind of [00:05:22] familiar with the area but i haven't [00:05:23] been here before so i'm so thankful to [00:05:25] you guys for having me and for taking [00:05:27] the time to come out and listen um i [00:05:30] really just want to encourage and equip [00:05:32] you as much as i can i want to leave as [00:05:34] long as i can for questions i feel like [00:05:36] that's actually kind of where the fun is [00:05:38] when you guys get to ask the specific [00:05:40] questions that you want and i can give [00:05:42] you the specific advice that you're [00:05:43] looking for but i want you to leave here [00:05:46] feeling really pumped up i want you to [00:05:48] feel really optimistic not just about [00:05:50] where the country is and the potential [00:05:52] future of the country but also [00:05:54] your role in that no matter what your [00:05:56] strength is no matter if you fancy [00:05:58] yourself super involved or knowledgeable [00:06:01] about politics i want you to know that [00:06:04] you are fully equipped to make a [00:06:06] difference in a way that really matters [00:06:08] so there are three big things [00:06:11] that are happening right now that give [00:06:12] me like a really good feeling a really [00:06:15] good indication that things can change [00:06:17] for the better one of those things elon [00:06:20] musk can we just get a round of applause [00:06:22] for elon musk [00:06:24] no that is not that does not mean that i [00:06:27] think that elon musk is necessarily the [00:06:29] savior of western civilization but it is [00:06:32] a really big move that he has bought [00:06:35] twitter and so we're going to talk about [00:06:36] that the second big thing and this is [00:06:39] technically what this tour is about [00:06:41] although thankfully a lot of the [00:06:42] mandates are gone so we're not going to [00:06:44] focus on that but [00:06:46] one of the last dominos has fallen and [00:06:48] that is the removal of the mask mandate [00:06:50] on airplanes which also deserves a round [00:06:53] of applause [00:06:56] and then the third thing that i [00:06:59] that i see is a big kind of bell weather [00:07:02] as an indication of where we're going is [00:07:05] ron desantis you can applaud just at the [00:07:08] name if you want to [00:07:09] or [00:07:10] you can wait until i until i say what [00:07:13] i'm going to say and that is using the [00:07:15] powers and the tools that are [00:07:16] constitutionally available to him to [00:07:18] push back on one of the most powerful [00:07:20] and unfortunately [00:07:22] degenerate and depraved corporations [00:07:25] that exist [00:07:26] in the world to protect the will of the [00:07:28] people of florida that's a big deal and [00:07:31] that is a big deal for our country and [00:07:33] so we'll talk about those three things [00:07:35] and why i think they actually mean [00:07:37] something to you and what you can do as [00:07:40] an individual and how things really can [00:07:42] change for the better because we do also [00:07:45] need to be really honest with ourselves [00:07:47] like about where we are as a country [00:07:49] there are good things that are happening [00:07:51] but there are also some scary things [00:07:53] some bad things that are happening i [00:07:55] mean first and foremost we have a [00:07:57] president who is not with us [00:07:59] he is not fully here we do not have a [00:08:02] commander-in-chief that [00:08:04] that is competent or that is even [00:08:06] cognitively a [00:08:08] uh able available [00:08:10] to defend us as a country and to put our [00:08:13] interests first nor do we have a leading [00:08:15] party who is even interested in doing [00:08:17] that [00:08:18] so that leads to a lot of different [00:08:20] things that leads to open borders [00:08:22] unfortunately that leads to the loss of [00:08:25] life what people tell you is a [00:08:27] compassionate policy letting people into [00:08:29] the country who want to come in that [00:08:31] actually led to the loss of life of an [00:08:33] american that was trying to defend our [00:08:35] country and save the lives of migrants [00:08:37] who jumped in the rio grande he lost his [00:08:39] life [00:08:40] unfortunately the biden administration [00:08:42] didn't even say anything about it until [00:08:43] a few days later but that's one of the [00:08:46] places that also indicates where we are [00:08:48] that we're not really in a very good [00:08:50] place even though we have reason for [00:08:51] optimism [00:08:53] we have a failure of leadership as well [00:08:55] and it's not just when we look at [00:08:57] policies it's not just when we look at [00:08:58] things like inflation that are really [00:09:01] affecting people's lives like the the [00:09:03] messages that i get on a daily basis [00:09:06] from moms and dads who are just [00:09:08] struggling to provide for their families [00:09:10] who are having to budget now just to buy [00:09:12] baby formula in a way that they didn't [00:09:14] have to a year ago people who can't [00:09:16] afford to commute to their jobs anymore [00:09:18] because the gas prices are so high don't [00:09:21] let anyone tell you that that is not in [00:09:22] effect a consequence of the policies [00:09:25] that have been put in place over the [00:09:27] past year and a half and even beyond [00:09:29] that [00:09:30] what we're seeing right now is some very [00:09:32] serious ramifications to social justice [00:09:35] progressive uh progressive policy and [00:09:38] that includes the lawlessness and the [00:09:39] rising crime and homicide in violence [00:09:43] that again is taking the lives of [00:09:44] innocent people in the united states [00:09:47] and it's not just policy consequences [00:09:50] like we have a new supreme court justice [00:09:52] who can't even say what a woman is [00:09:56] we're in a bad spot we're in a bad spot [00:09:59] if one of the top legal minds who was [00:10:01] going to be make decisions that have [00:10:04] consequences that are going to last not [00:10:06] just for our generation but for [00:10:08] generations to come cannot even tell you [00:10:10] what a woman is because she says that [00:10:12] she's not a biologist [00:10:14] that's a problem [00:10:16] if you don't know what a woman is do you [00:10:17] know what women's rights are [00:10:20] how are you able to define those things [00:10:21] if you can't say when life begins when [00:10:24] do people have rights [00:10:26] that's a really big problem [00:10:28] so we look at all of these different [00:10:29] avenues we look at the policy [00:10:32] ramifications that have just made life [00:10:34] harder for people on a day-to-day basis [00:10:37] we look at how godless and purposeless [00:10:40] and [00:10:41] and this microphone keeps going in and [00:10:42] out doesn't it [00:10:44] okay thanks [00:10:46] lonely and confused and just [00:10:49] morally [00:10:51] chaotic [00:10:52] our world is our country is and it's [00:10:55] really easy to despair it's really easy [00:10:58] to be discouraged and to feel like you [00:11:01] know what things are never going to go [00:11:02] back to normal especially for you guys [00:11:05] just thinking about the last two years [00:11:07] yes the last two years were hard [00:11:10] everyone [00:11:11] normalcy was really pulled out from [00:11:13] under the feet of everyone but [00:11:15] especially for you guys that was very [00:11:18] smooth thank you especially for you guys [00:11:21] oh thank you for the round of applause i [00:11:23] really appreciate it [00:11:24] um [00:11:26] you guys will never get adolescents back [00:11:29] you guys will never get if this happened [00:11:32] while you were in college your full [00:11:33] college experience back every single one [00:11:36] of us right now are two years plus [00:11:39] closer to death [00:11:40] than we were two years ago [00:11:43] so that means that we're not going to [00:11:44] get this time back anyone who says oh [00:11:46] well once the mandates go away or once [00:11:48] we get to zero covid by the way zero [00:11:51] covid is [00:11:52] never going to happen you see what's [00:11:53] happening in shanghai right now the [00:11:55] people are actually being killed to keep [00:11:57] them safe [00:11:59] when a government's first priority is to [00:12:00] keep people safe ironically people end [00:12:03] up dying that is what's happening in [00:12:04] shanghai that's what happened in canada [00:12:06] when people tried to fight for their [00:12:08] liberty [00:12:09] and so [00:12:11] over the past two years we've had [00:12:12] normalcy ripped from us and we don't get [00:12:14] those years back and it breaks my heart [00:12:15] for young people especially that you [00:12:18] don't get those experiences and those [00:12:20] memories back that were taken from you [00:12:22] over the past two years however [00:12:25] rather than just kind of like wallowing [00:12:27] in that sadness and that discouragement [00:12:30] thinking wow i think i or i wish that we [00:12:32] could just go back to 2019 when things [00:12:34] were normal or i wish we could go back [00:12:36] to when trump was president [00:12:38] or i wish that we could go back to how [00:12:41] it was when i was growing up in the 90s [00:12:44] the early 2000s or whatever it was it's [00:12:46] really easy to feel nostalgic and to [00:12:48] just feel [00:12:49] like if we could go back to how things [00:12:52] were then maybe it would be better [00:12:54] but here's the news flash that sounds [00:12:56] like bad news but i'll tell you why i [00:12:58] think it's good news [00:13:00] that there is no going back [00:13:02] there's no going back [00:13:04] we're never going to go back to how [00:13:06] things were completely before covet [00:13:08] we're never going to go back to how [00:13:11] patriotic and united we were after 9 11. [00:13:14] we're not going to go back to that [00:13:15] nostalgic time in the 80s and 90s when [00:13:17] ronald reagan renewed our sense of unity [00:13:20] and patriotism [00:13:22] that does not mean however that the [00:13:24] future is bleak [00:13:26] it just means that the future is [00:13:28] different [00:13:29] because the past two years have taught [00:13:31] us a lot that we would not have learned [00:13:34] otherwise so there is a blessing wrapped [00:13:36] up in all of these coven mandates and [00:13:39] these code restrictions [00:13:41] we have been taught a very valuable [00:13:43] lesson that i think a lot of young [00:13:45] people would not have learned a lot of [00:13:47] people your age just wouldn't have [00:13:48] learned that you can't trust the [00:13:50] government [00:13:51] that you have to ask questions [00:13:53] that the government isn't your dad the [00:13:55] government isn't your moral arbiter the [00:13:57] government isn't your caretaker the [00:13:59] mainstream media will lie our public [00:14:02] health bureaucracies will hide data in [00:14:05] order to push a particular narrative [00:14:07] there are politicians who will take away [00:14:09] your freedom everything you hold dear [00:14:12] in the name of safety or just the [00:14:15] pretense of safety [00:14:17] it's really important for us that we had [00:14:20] a short-lived but very intense for a lot [00:14:22] of people lessen in what tyranny can [00:14:25] look like [00:14:26] and so no we're not going back exactly [00:14:29] to how things were before we have seen [00:14:31] the kind of power grab that politicians [00:14:34] and people in the media in our public [00:14:36] health bureaucracy and the [00:14:37] pharmaceutical companies will take in [00:14:39] the name of power and money [00:14:41] we've seen it there's no question about [00:14:44] it now so it's good that things are not [00:14:46] going to be how they once were because [00:14:48] we are armed with a knowledge and we are [00:14:50] armed now with equipment that we did not [00:14:53] have before [00:14:55] and that's a good thing [00:14:57] and the three things that i talked about [00:14:59] in the beginning that i think are really [00:15:01] good indication of what the individual [00:15:03] can do even the seemingly powerless [00:15:06] individual let's talk about elon musk [00:15:09] for a second [00:15:10] buying twitter it can seem like if [00:15:13] you're just kind of glancing at this [00:15:14] story [00:15:15] it can seem like well a billionaire got [00:15:17] bored and he decided that he was going [00:15:20] to do something crazy maybe he decided [00:15:22] that he was going to troll some people [00:15:24] on the left because he fancies himself a [00:15:26] libertarian but that's not actually how [00:15:29] it started it didn't start out by elon [00:15:31] musk just being a rich troll [00:15:34] that's not exactly how this whole thing [00:15:36] originated this whole thing originated [00:15:38] from the babylon bee [00:15:40] a satire site [00:15:42] laughing at the fact that some people [00:15:45] think a man can become a woman [00:15:47] they made fun of the fact that our [00:15:48] assistant [00:15:50] health and human services secretary who [00:15:52] goes by the name rachel levine is [00:15:54] actually a man [00:15:56] so they said something in humor which [00:15:58] satire is a perfect tool for saying [00:16:00] uncomfortable things but true things [00:16:03] they used humor to say something that [00:16:05] was true to push back against an absurd [00:16:07] narrative about the ability to switch [00:16:09] your sex [00:16:10] and they got kicked off twitter [00:16:12] and when they got kicked off twitter [00:16:14] someone who is a very good friend of the [00:16:16] babylon bee and a fan of the babylon b [00:16:18] who also happens to be the richest [00:16:19] person in the world [00:16:21] said you know what i think that's too [00:16:23] far [00:16:24] i think that's too much i think i'm [00:16:26] going to do something about this [00:16:27] censorship thing [00:16:28] i think that maybe it's unfair when you [00:16:31] have a social media outlet stop the [00:16:34] circulation of a story say about hunter [00:16:36] biden's laptop just a month before the [00:16:39] presidential election because it might [00:16:41] inhibit their candidate from doing well [00:16:44] so he's looking at this and he's [00:16:45] thinking oh maybe some of this [00:16:47] censorship isn't fair and how did that [00:16:48] start that started from the babylon b [00:16:52] saying something that is true [00:16:54] now the babylon b now is a huge company [00:16:57] has [00:16:57] hundreds of thousands if not millions of [00:17:00] subscribers and and followers and um [00:17:03] fans [00:17:04] but it didn't start out that way i know [00:17:06] the guys who owned the babylon b who [00:17:08] started out with babylon b they're great [00:17:10] guys but they just started in 2016 [00:17:14] saying funny things about trump saying [00:17:16] funny things about christians poking fun [00:17:18] at the different subsets of christians [00:17:20] and conservatives they literally just [00:17:21] started a couple guys saying things that [00:17:23] were true saying things that were [00:17:25] uncomfortable but in a way that made [00:17:27] people laugh and in a way that made [00:17:28] people think [00:17:29] and them telling a dru a joke that [00:17:31] highlighted the truth ended up being the [00:17:34] impetus for a move that might have saved [00:17:37] free speech for western democracy [00:17:40] like that's a big deal [00:17:42] that's a big deal and it all started out [00:17:45] by some people saying that they were [00:17:46] going to start saying controversial [00:17:49] truths [00:17:50] the second thing let's talk about the [00:17:52] mask mandates being removed judge mizell [00:17:55] down in florida she seems like an [00:17:56] awesome person seems like someone i [00:17:58] would just want to hang out with but she [00:18:00] made a really good decision and saying [00:18:02] look the cdc doesn't have the power [00:18:05] that they say that they do to require [00:18:07] people to wear masks in airports and on [00:18:10] airplanes and all the people angry about [00:18:12] her or angry about this decision mad at [00:18:14] her i don't think they've read the [00:18:16] 59-page decision this person is a very [00:18:18] smart lady she knows what she's talking [00:18:20] about she knows the law she explained it [00:18:22] in a very articulate and brilliant [00:18:24] manner and yet i haven't seen any [00:18:26] liberal who's mad at her actually [00:18:28] contend with the substance of her [00:18:30] argument they just say she's young and [00:18:32] she's a trump appointee so it must not [00:18:34] stand but it does stand at least for now [00:18:36] we'll see what the biden administration [00:18:38] does they love to suck the fun out of [00:18:40] everything and so i wouldn't be [00:18:42] surprised if they find a way to ruin [00:18:43] this but for now it's something worth [00:18:46] celebrating um but how did this start it [00:18:49] started actually with two individuals [00:18:52] rallying an organization i think it's [00:18:54] the you someone might be able to correct [00:18:56] me i think it's the health freedom [00:18:57] defense fund i think that's the [00:18:59] organization that ended up suing the [00:19:01] government but it started with two [00:19:03] individuals [00:19:04] not prominent individuals not [00:19:06] politicians not anyone in the media [00:19:09] saying you know i don't think this is [00:19:10] lawful i don't think this is right i [00:19:12] don't think it's scientific but it's [00:19:13] certainly not constitutional and those [00:19:15] individuals last july decided that they [00:19:18] were going to [00:19:19] get legal help legal defense and stew [00:19:22] the government [00:19:24] so they decided to take a stand that was [00:19:26] even more unpopular a year ago [00:19:29] um they decided to do something that [00:19:31] probably got them a lot of backlash [00:19:33] maybe they risked their jobs maybe they [00:19:35] risked their acceptance and popularity [00:19:37] but they wanted to stand up and actually [00:19:39] do something about what they saw as [00:19:41] wrong and because of that a decision has [00:19:44] been made that has benefited freedom and [00:19:46] liberty for everyone [00:19:48] that's a really big deal and it started [00:19:51] with two individuals it started with an [00:19:52] organization [00:19:54] willing to do something and say [00:19:56] something that was really unpopular that [00:19:58] the mainstream media was demonized uh [00:20:00] demonizing the president of the united [00:20:02] states the white house said was the [00:20:04] wrong move that takes a lot of courage [00:20:06] and yet they were just normal people who [00:20:08] took a stand in something that was [00:20:10] unpopular [00:20:12] and then if we look at the third big [00:20:13] thing that i think is a good indicator [00:20:15] of perhaps a good place that we're going [00:20:17] as a country [00:20:19] and that is ron desantis [00:20:21] and his stand that he is taking [00:20:24] against disney [00:20:25] now [00:20:26] i think all of us have been fans [00:20:28] probably of disney content at some point [00:20:30] in our lives and so i'm not trying to [00:20:33] demonize anyone's love for disney in [00:20:35] here it's probably part of all of our [00:20:37] childhood in some way [00:20:39] but look ian ron desantis's words they [00:20:41] crossed a line [00:20:43] and look i understand that there is a [00:20:46] disagreement among conservatives and we [00:20:48] can have good faith discussions about [00:20:50] this that there are some people that are [00:20:52] saying oh no it's disney's free speech [00:20:54] but let me tell you [00:20:55] what exactly happened and why i think [00:20:58] rhonda santa's move was correct and then [00:21:00] how this again goes back to just normal [00:21:03] people making such a huge difference [00:21:06] so this was a parental rights and [00:21:08] education bill that was passed you know [00:21:10] its critics called it the don't say gay [00:21:13] bill which the word gay is not in there [00:21:15] at all this is a bill protecting parents [00:21:18] rights parents rights in education [00:21:20] parents rights to the knowledge and the [00:21:22] consent of the curriculum especially [00:21:25] curriculum that centers on sexual [00:21:27] orientation and so-called gender [00:21:29] identity in schools and what this bill [00:21:32] says now it is law as governor desantis [00:21:34] signed it a few weeks ago [00:21:36] it says look if you are a school [00:21:38] district you cannot keep a secret about [00:21:41] a child in their well-being from the [00:21:44] parent [00:21:45] pretty straightforward right like that's [00:21:47] like anti-child grooming 101 that an [00:21:50] adult doesn't tell a child this is our [00:21:52] little secret [00:21:53] don't tell your parents i won't tell [00:21:55] your parents that you're switching [00:21:57] genders when you come to school like [00:21:59] that is anti-child abuse 101 so the bill [00:22:03] says the law says you can't do that you [00:22:05] can't keep secrets about a child from [00:22:07] their parent the law also says in [00:22:09] kindergarten through third grade you [00:22:10] can't be teaching kids about switching [00:22:12] their gender you can't be teaching kids [00:22:14] about sexual or orientation just [00:22:16] kindergarten through third grade guys [00:22:18] that's five to nine year olds [00:22:20] now ask yourself what kind of person [00:22:22] would object to that [00:22:23] like what kind of person says nope i [00:22:25] think it's a right i think it's a good [00:22:27] thing to be able to talk to [00:22:28] five-year-olds about switching their sex [00:22:30] or sexual orientation [00:22:32] disney apparently is very passionate [00:22:34] about that disney posted on instagram [00:22:37] that they believe that this bill [00:22:39] violates human rights as if there is a [00:22:41] human right to [00:22:43] talking to a five-year-old about [00:22:44] chemical castration it's insane the [00:22:47] propaganda the disney pushed but it [00:22:49] wasn't just that this is where they [00:22:50] cross the line they can say what they [00:22:52] want to say but then after the bill was [00:22:54] passed after it was signed into law by [00:22:56] governor desantis disney released a [00:22:58] statement [00:22:59] and they said it is our commitment it is [00:23:02] our goal to see this law overturned or [00:23:05] repealed [00:23:07] so we're talking about a major [00:23:08] corporation [00:23:09] not elected by anyone in florida [00:23:11] actually headquartered in california who [00:23:14] says that they are going to up in the [00:23:16] democratic process [00:23:18] they are going to try to do everything [00:23:20] they can to use their power use their [00:23:22] money to overturn a law that was passed [00:23:24] by officials that were duly elected by [00:23:27] the people of florida [00:23:29] that is not democracy that is a [00:23:31] corporate oligarchy and if we are people [00:23:34] who care about liberty we should oppose [00:23:36] that [00:23:37] if we are people who care about tyranny [00:23:39] in all its forms whether it's corporate [00:23:41] tyranny which is certainly something [00:23:43] that exists or whether it's the tyranny [00:23:45] of the government that is something that [00:23:46] we should be against [00:23:48] and by the way florida deciding okay you [00:23:51] know what if that's the game that you're [00:23:53] going to play if you're going to play [00:23:54] ball like that disney then you don't get [00:23:57] this privilege [00:23:58] that you have had since i think it was [00:24:00] the late 50s or the late 60s [00:24:02] where they basically were totally [00:24:04] autonomous and they [00:24:07] basically got to govern themselves not [00:24:10] completely but almost they got to do [00:24:12] almost anything they wanted to of course [00:24:14] there were tax cuts and carved outs and [00:24:15] all of these things and ron desantis and [00:24:17] the florida republicans said no i don't [00:24:19] think so i don't think you're going to [00:24:20] enjoy that privilege [00:24:22] for people who say that that is [00:24:24] authoritarian [00:24:25] look [00:24:26] you don't get to afford or [00:24:29] first of all it's a privilege it's not a [00:24:30] right and affording certain companies [00:24:33] privileges that you do not afford other [00:24:35] companies is not capitalism that's [00:24:37] cronyism [00:24:39] and so it's actually a very conservative [00:24:42] move [00:24:42] that ron desantis is doing and i think [00:24:45] it's great because if [00:24:47] if the republicans in charge are not [00:24:49] going to use the power and the tools and [00:24:52] the authority available to them to keep [00:24:54] these powerful influential companies in [00:24:56] check who are trying to up into the [00:24:58] democratic processes of the people in a [00:25:01] state then who is going to [00:25:04] who is going to [00:25:06] so i think it's a good thing i am [00:25:09] supportive of ron desantis move i think [00:25:11] more republicans need to be pushing back [00:25:13] against these major corporations that [00:25:16] try to influence our democratic [00:25:17] processes and really don't care about [00:25:19] the will of the people especially if [00:25:20] they're conservative [00:25:22] yes we need to use the tools [00:25:23] constitutionally available [00:25:25] available to us [00:25:26] to check that power [00:25:29] but it didn't start with ron desantis [00:25:31] this big monumental piece of legislation [00:25:34] and move against this corporation which [00:25:35] i hope really is a domino effect in the [00:25:37] rest of the country [00:25:39] it didn't start with ron desantis it [00:25:41] didn't start with disney [00:25:43] the reason why this bill even exists the [00:25:46] reason why this bill passed is because [00:25:48] of parents [00:25:50] going to school board meetings [00:25:52] and saying you know let me let me just [00:25:53] read you a little bit of what my second [00:25:55] grader is learning and the school board [00:25:57] members saying oh no no that's too [00:25:59] raunchy for you to read out loud in [00:26:01] school board meetings [00:26:02] and they're saying well [00:26:04] my second grader has access to this kind [00:26:06] of book in libraries so it took normal [00:26:09] people normal parents raising a [00:26:12] respectful ruckus at these school board [00:26:15] meetings calling their state legislators [00:26:17] running for school board and and raising [00:26:21] heck about this on social media for this [00:26:23] bill to pass which then led to what [00:26:26] you're seeing in this i think very [00:26:28] impactful feud between disney and the [00:26:31] state of florida [00:26:33] normal people [00:26:35] normal citizens [00:26:37] average individuals [00:26:38] using their voice [00:26:40] saying that hey this matters to me this [00:26:42] is a big deal i think this is wrong [00:26:45] and for the side the left who says that [00:26:47] they care about democracy [00:26:50] and yet they demonize these kinds of [00:26:52] efforts it's hypocrisy so often what the [00:26:55] left really means when they say that [00:26:56] they are pro-democracy is just pro stuff [00:26:58] that they like [00:27:00] no matter how authoritarian it is [00:27:03] there is nothing more truly democratic [00:27:05] than the three things that i just listed [00:27:07] and how they started [00:27:09] normal people powerless people not in [00:27:11] positions of influence not with a lot of [00:27:14] money just using their voice and saying [00:27:16] things that are controversial [00:27:18] saying things that end up having [00:27:22] a major effect on our country [00:27:25] so [00:27:26] that is the encouragement that i want to [00:27:28] give you [00:27:30] because [00:27:30] the fact is is we've already established [00:27:32] we're not going back to the way things [00:27:34] were [00:27:35] we only have the future i mean literally [00:27:38] scientifically we can only move forward [00:27:40] right we can't actually go back and we [00:27:43] have the power even if we feel like [00:27:45] we're in the minority because by the way [00:27:46] we are as conservatives as as christians [00:27:49] whatever heterodox view you have [00:27:51] whatever non-progressive view you have [00:27:53] you are in the minority [00:27:55] you are [00:27:56] um you don't have institutional power [00:27:58] backing you [00:28:00] in that every national and global [00:28:02] institution that exists whether you're [00:28:04] talking about academia whether you're [00:28:06] talking about public education most [00:28:08] major corporations most big tech [00:28:10] platforms uh the u.n the who [00:28:14] most of our federal bureaucracy a lot of [00:28:16] our state bureaucracies are all [00:28:19] inundated with and characterized by [00:28:21] progressivism most your friends are [00:28:23] probably progressives most of the [00:28:24] propaganda that you see from the [00:28:26] mainstream media is progressivism so you [00:28:29] are probably in the minority in a lot of [00:28:32] ways or at least you are of the people [00:28:34] whose voice is not amplified by [00:28:36] mainstream megaphones [00:28:38] and that can be a really tough place to [00:28:40] be [00:28:41] that can be um a really scary place to [00:28:44] be a really intimidating place to be and [00:28:46] again you can feel so discouraged [00:28:49] but [00:28:50] never forget that your lone voice but [00:28:53] especially the voice coupled with or [00:28:56] paired with brought together with other [00:28:58] people who share the same values as you [00:29:00] do that has an impact that can make a [00:29:03] difference like you don't know what flap [00:29:06] of the butterfly wing you are you don't [00:29:09] know what ripple you are you don't know [00:29:12] how your voice in speaking up whether [00:29:14] it's on social media whether it's [00:29:16] organizing here on campus whether it's [00:29:18] just having conversations with your [00:29:20] friend whether it's pushing back against [00:29:21] whatever corporation or job you go to [00:29:24] work for after college whatever sphere [00:29:26] you occupy you have the ability to make [00:29:29] a difference [00:29:31] and it's going to require some risk [00:29:33] that's absolutely true [00:29:35] you're probably going to get shouted [00:29:37] down you're probably going to get [00:29:38] trolled you're probably gonna get [00:29:39] bullied you're probably gonna get called [00:29:41] names you're probably going to get shut [00:29:44] down by people who disagree with you and [00:29:46] just don't have the intellectual [00:29:47] capacity to actually debate you in a way [00:29:49] that is reasonable [00:29:51] that's probably going to happen but it's [00:29:53] worth it [00:29:55] don't you see that the three things i [00:29:57] just listed [00:29:58] would not thank you would not [00:30:00] would not happen [00:30:02] if normal people who probably thought [00:30:04] that they didn't have what it takes if [00:30:07] they hadn't have spoken up [00:30:09] so that's you too [00:30:11] so there are a few things that you have [00:30:12] to do [00:30:13] one you have to pick some hills to die [00:30:16] on or maybe one or two you know [00:30:18] obviously i i'm a christian i talk about [00:30:20] that a lot and so there are very few [00:30:24] hills that i will die on of course the [00:30:26] gospel is the hill that is the thing [00:30:29] that i will go to my death defending [00:30:32] absolutely [00:30:34] but there are other things [00:30:37] there are other things that i think are [00:30:39] really worth defending in this life and [00:30:41] they're all kind of under the umbrella [00:30:43] of what is good for human beings [00:30:46] what protects human rights what protects [00:30:48] human liberty one of those things that i [00:30:51] will just defend no matter what [00:30:53] is the right to life inside the womb [00:30:56] that's one thing that i will never stop [00:31:01] fighting for [00:31:03] the other thing which might be even more [00:31:05] controversial [00:31:07] but i will [00:31:08] never waver an inch on i will never give [00:31:11] in even a centimeter [00:31:13] on the idea [00:31:15] that men can become [00:31:16] women now [00:31:19] why do i care about that so much does it [00:31:22] really affect me well yeah it does [00:31:24] affect it does affect me of course it [00:31:26] does all forms of unconditional [00:31:28] inclusion end up affecting the most [00:31:31] vulnerable when you endlessly include [00:31:34] there's always going to be someone who [00:31:36] is not protected and that is true when [00:31:39] you include in the definition of a woman [00:31:40] that a man [00:31:41] can be a woman you make vulnerable women [00:31:45] they are excluded from fairness and [00:31:47] competition they are excluded from [00:31:48] privacy when it comes to locker rooms [00:31:51] and bathrooms it is absolutely [00:31:54] something that i will continue to fight [00:31:56] on because words matter definition [00:31:59] matters the truth matters if you've ever [00:32:01] read 1984 in the end what gets winston [00:32:05] he has to repeat he has to believe that [00:32:08] two and two equal five [00:32:10] because big brother says that you can [00:32:12] only say something is true if i say it's [00:32:14] true the only reality and truth that [00:32:16] exists is that which big brother says [00:32:18] exists [00:32:20] two plus two equals five [00:32:22] is the same thing as saying a man could [00:32:24] become a woman [00:32:25] like that's our 1984 moment that if you [00:32:28] start saying that you've given in all [00:32:30] the way to the orwellian newspeak [00:32:33] and the ideas that end up leading to [00:32:34] tyranny if they can get you to believe [00:32:36] that you can believe anything you're [00:32:38] already compliant you're already with [00:32:40] the regime so that's something that i [00:32:42] will fight for maybe there's a million [00:32:43] other little small mole hills other [00:32:45] things that i will fight for too but [00:32:48] pick yours [00:32:49] pick the things what are you so [00:32:51] passionate about that you're willing to [00:32:52] risk something that you're willing to [00:32:54] stand up and say something controversial [00:32:56] say something uncomfortable organize [00:32:58] people to rally behind a particular [00:33:01] cause and it doesn't have to be [00:33:03] everything i want to comfort you with [00:33:05] that like we are all limited in our [00:33:07] capacity we're all fallible human beings [00:33:10] we're finite we're not god [00:33:12] so that means that you can't care about [00:33:14] everything and everyone even though [00:33:16] social media makes you feel like you [00:33:18] have to every single news story you have [00:33:20] to care just as much about this is the [00:33:22] last thing that happened but guess what [00:33:24] you can't you literally can't your heart [00:33:26] and mind cannot carry all of that so [00:33:29] it's okay if you pick and choose the [00:33:31] things the values the fights that you [00:33:34] are gonna have and say you know this is [00:33:35] my focus area that doesn't mean i'm not [00:33:37] going to focus on other things or i [00:33:38] won't care about other things or support [00:33:40] other things but these are the things [00:33:41] that i am going to raise a respectful [00:33:44] ruckus for [00:33:45] these are the things i just will refuse [00:33:47] to compromise on i will choose to live [00:33:49] not by lies i won't give in to the [00:33:51] deceit no matter how strong the [00:33:53] propaganda is i will ask questions i'll [00:33:55] be a critical thinker in everything but [00:33:57] at the end of the day pick the causes [00:33:59] that you are going to represent [00:34:01] and in whatever sphere you occupy [00:34:04] find one like-minded person two [00:34:06] like-minded people as many like-minded [00:34:08] people as you possibly can rely on one [00:34:11] another be one another's uh source of [00:34:15] wisdom and encouragement especially if [00:34:16] you're on campus or you're in an [00:34:18] environment where um people are hostile [00:34:22] to [00:34:23] your world view [00:34:25] find other people that agree with you [00:34:28] rally them together to either make a [00:34:30] change push back against the policy or [00:34:33] really just to rely on one another and [00:34:34] be each other's support system people [00:34:36] ask me all the time how do i handle [00:34:38] hostility on campus you have to have [00:34:40] other people that are keeping you sane [00:34:43] you have to have other people that [00:34:44] encourage you that are your community as [00:34:46] well [00:34:47] i mean you've got a lot of people right [00:34:48] here but you continue to actively find [00:34:50] that and in every sphere that you occupy [00:34:53] every speck of eternity on which god has [00:34:56] placed you every role that you have [00:34:59] every small circle that you fill [00:35:03] in this life do everything you can to [00:35:05] make it better [00:35:07] in this generation we're told that [00:35:08] everything is about you and my [00:35:11] generation too everything is about us [00:35:13] that you will feel better and be more [00:35:15] fulfilled if you just love yourself more [00:35:17] if you just pursue more of what makes [00:35:19] you happy then you'll finally be [00:35:20] satisfied it's not true [00:35:23] the less you think about yourself [00:35:26] the less you obsess over yourself [00:35:28] the less you think that you are the [00:35:30] source of your own fulfillment the [00:35:32] better off you'll be [00:35:34] the more you think about thank you i [00:35:36] just love [00:35:38] i love the applause i appreciate it um [00:35:41] the more you think about [00:35:44] your purpose that is bigger than you [00:35:46] the more you tether yourself to a value [00:35:49] system that is bigger than you [00:35:51] the more you know the god who created [00:35:53] you the only one who can tell you who [00:35:55] you are and what you're worth i promise [00:35:58] the more deeply joyful and satisfied and [00:36:01] purpose-filled you will be [00:36:04] and that's really what this is all about [00:36:06] and talking about speaking up for the [00:36:08] things that matter you are realizing [00:36:10] that your comfort and your convenience [00:36:14] is a lot less important [00:36:16] than the future of this country [00:36:19] it's a lot less important [00:36:22] than some of these big issues that we're [00:36:24] talking about [00:36:25] you sacrificing your comfort in your [00:36:28] popularity for the sake of speaking up [00:36:29] for babies who can't speak up for [00:36:31] themselves is worth it for example [00:36:34] and so [00:36:35] this is also a lesson in selflessness as [00:36:38] much as it is a lesson and courage [00:36:40] courage begets courage [00:36:42] be that first person to stand up and say [00:36:44] that's not right or this is what i [00:36:46] believe is right [00:36:49] and then when you see that person when [00:36:51] you see that other person standing up [00:36:52] courageously saying the unpopular thing [00:36:55] rather than saying wow i'm so glad i'm [00:36:57] not that person getting the backlash [00:36:59] that they're getting i'm so glad i'm not [00:37:01] getting bullied on social media no you [00:37:03] don't do that you stand up and you say [00:37:05] you know what i'll take those arrows too [00:37:07] i'll take the hit that person is [00:37:09] standing up for the unborn or standing [00:37:11] up for women being women whatever it is [00:37:13] you know what i believe that too and [00:37:14] whatever arrows you're throwing towards [00:37:16] them you can throw towards me too [00:37:18] there's power in that kind of collective [00:37:21] strength there is power in that kind of [00:37:23] collective courage and not allowing the [00:37:27] people that we share the values with to [00:37:29] stand up by themselves that can make a [00:37:31] difference we're already seeing it and [00:37:33] because of that i feel really good right [00:37:35] now for the future of our country [00:37:37] because i know you guys are motivated [00:37:39] and encouraged and equipped to make a [00:37:41] really big difference just by doing the [00:37:44] next right thing and saying the next [00:37:46] hard thing thank you so much [00:37:48] [Applause] [00:38:08] hey [00:38:10] it's okay i can hear you hey uh my name [00:38:12] is austin i'm a student here at nc state [00:38:14] um glad you could come i just had a [00:38:17] question so earlier today our [00:38:19] so-called vice president kamala harris [00:38:22] announced that she tested positive for [00:38:24] covid despite being vaccinated and [00:38:27] boosted who knows how many times [00:38:29] and at the same time [00:38:31] rhode island lawmakers just this week [00:38:33] introduced a bill that would require [00:38:35] citizens who are unvaccinated to pay [00:38:38] double in income tax yeah so how do we [00:38:41] as [00:38:42] conservatives continue [00:38:46] um [00:38:47] mandates that are still going on and [00:38:50] this like idea that [00:38:52] that covet is still running rampant [00:38:54] across the country even though a lot of [00:38:55] mandates and stuff have been lifted [00:38:57] right i know i didn't know about that [00:38:59] rhode island bill that's terrible of [00:39:01] course kamala harris is like [00:39:03] many people i think probably almost [00:39:05] every person every single vaccinated [00:39:07] person i know has had covet and that's [00:39:09] how you know the vaccine really works um [00:39:12] because so many people are getting it [00:39:14] that's what the science says [00:39:16] um so [00:39:18] at this point because it's so painfully [00:39:20] obvious especially those of us who have [00:39:22] been following the science and following [00:39:23] the real data for so long on vaccine [00:39:26] mandates on mask mandates on the actual [00:39:29] cause of the spread of covet [00:39:31] it's so [00:39:32] incredible and frustrating and [00:39:34] frightening that there are still state [00:39:35] legislatures still corporations that are [00:39:37] mandating this kind of stuff and really [00:39:39] acting in a very cruel and punitive way [00:39:42] towards people who didn't make the [00:39:43] decision that they wanted them to make [00:39:44] even though it doesn't affect them i [00:39:46] mean we know that even if you think the [00:39:48] vaccine is awesome it doesn't stop the [00:39:50] spread of copay because you can still [00:39:51] get and spread it and so at this point [00:39:53] it just does seem like these people are [00:39:56] authoritarian and they are relying on [00:39:58] the fact i think that most of us aren't [00:40:00] talking about it anymore because so many [00:40:02] places think the lord have removed those [00:40:04] mandates that a lot of people aren't [00:40:06] focusing on it and so they can kind of [00:40:08] pass these measures without people [00:40:10] watching so i think the fact that you [00:40:12] are even noticing the fact that you're [00:40:14] talking about it i didn't know about it [00:40:16] the fact that we are kind of um that [00:40:18] people are still blowing the lid on this [00:40:20] kind of thing i mean there are still [00:40:22] only so many things that you can do but [00:40:24] as we just talked about i think they [00:40:25] matter calling state legislatures even [00:40:27] if it's just or state legislators uh you [00:40:30] and the people that you know talking [00:40:32] about it i like to say even though it's [00:40:34] a little controversial to say i'm not [00:40:36] talking about the people who are [00:40:37] progressives but progressivism as an [00:40:39] ideology is so insidious and it's really [00:40:41] like mold it grows best when you don't [00:40:43] see it it grows best in the dark and one [00:40:46] of the most effective things you can do [00:40:48] is find it and shine light on it and [00:40:50] bring warmth and heat to it [00:40:53] and really that goes with all of these [00:40:55] authoritarian measures that are still [00:40:57] being passed in the dark of the night is [00:40:59] talking about them exposing them [00:41:02] rallying as many people as you can to [00:41:03] call their legislators and make sure [00:41:05] people know that it's going on one small [00:41:08] thing there is um this ccp this chinese [00:41:11] communist party linked company that is [00:41:14] building um [00:41:16] a building or was going to build this [00:41:18] factory in north dakota right outside [00:41:20] this are an air force base and pretty [00:41:22] close to um a nuclear base awesome [00:41:26] and the community found out about it and [00:41:29] it was happening in total secrecy but [00:41:31] the community found out i think just one [00:41:33] or two people started saying hey this is [00:41:35] fishy they've rallied together and they [00:41:37] have at this point all but stopped the [00:41:39] construction of this ccp linked factory [00:41:42] just because they called their [00:41:43] legislators republicans and democrats [00:41:45] and said what the heck are you doing how [00:41:47] could you possibly do this for economic [00:41:49] benefit and so that matters people's [00:41:52] voices matter [00:42:00] so if anyone wants to ask questions if [00:42:02] you just form a line on this back wall [00:42:04] let's go from there any questions [00:42:09] hey so my name is dallas i work with the [00:42:12] turning point usa faith department's a [00:42:14] new subsidiary of turning point usa what [00:42:16] we do is we connect with different [00:42:18] congregations and faith groups across [00:42:21] the [00:42:22] united states i cover north and south [00:42:23] carolina and i'm curious to know what [00:42:26] your [00:42:26] i guess response would be to without [00:42:29] getting deep in theology um [00:42:31] the the narrative that the separation [00:42:33] between church and state yeah also that [00:42:36] um you know we shouldn't be talking any [00:42:37] kind of politics in in the church yes so [00:42:40] the separation of church and state is [00:42:42] very different than the separation of [00:42:44] god in law yes there is a principle of [00:42:46] the separation of church and state which [00:42:48] of course we know is not in our [00:42:49] constitution but i would contend it is a [00:42:51] very important principle of liberty but [00:42:53] really the principle was originated [00:42:57] because of a fear of the state's [00:43:00] interference in the church not vice [00:43:02] versa so often now we think about it as [00:43:04] oh we don't want the church interfering [00:43:06] in politics that's not what the [00:43:07] separation of church and state that's [00:43:09] not why the principle exists it's [00:43:11] because of actually what we saw so often [00:43:13] over the last couple of years [00:43:15] governments um [00:43:16] giving unfavorable treatment like in the [00:43:19] state of california to churches while [00:43:21] keeping abortion clinics and strip clubs [00:43:23] open that was the principle of [00:43:25] separation of church and state which [00:43:26] ironically progresses talk about so much [00:43:28] and they don't care when the state [00:43:29] interferes in the church they only care [00:43:31] when christians start talking about [00:43:32] politics but look [00:43:35] that is not [00:43:36] that does not mean just because we [00:43:38] believe in that separation that does not [00:43:40] mean that we can separate god in law you [00:43:42] can't it's in our founding documents [00:43:45] it's in our founding documents [00:43:47] we were created by god with certain [00:43:49] inalienable rights among them being life [00:43:51] liberty and the pursuit of happiness i [00:43:53] mean even if you disagree with that on a [00:43:55] theological level you have to [00:43:56] acknowledge that is what built western [00:43:58] civilization that is why we have rights [00:44:02] because of this fundamental belief that [00:44:04] we were created by god in his image and [00:44:06] therefore we have worth other societies [00:44:09] throughout history have not believed [00:44:10] that most countries to this day do not [00:44:13] believe in human rights you think china [00:44:15] believes that a human right they don't [00:44:16] believe in human rights they believe in [00:44:18] authoritarian power that the government [00:44:20] gives and takes away rights because they [00:44:21] believe that people are just clumps of [00:44:23] cells basically that they are just [00:44:25] material beings but the thing that made [00:44:28] the west different the thing that led to [00:44:30] all of the good steps towards liberty [00:44:32] like the abolition of slavery and the [00:44:34] steps toward equality that we have taken [00:44:36] was this fundamental belief that we are [00:44:38] made by god you don't get morality you [00:44:40] don't get rights you don't get liberty [00:44:42] you don't get any of the other good [00:44:44] things we want with conservatism if you [00:44:45] don't start with who made us and who [00:44:47] gave us our rights and that is god so [00:44:49] there really is no argument for [00:44:51] conservatism or any of the things we're [00:44:52] talking about without starting with our [00:44:55] creator so to answer your question it is [00:44:57] impossible to separate those two things [00:44:59] churches don't have to preach politics [00:45:02] of course or news headlines from the [00:45:03] pulpit every sunday i wouldn't say that [00:45:05] they need to do that but [00:45:07] christians care about people right like [00:45:09] that is one of the main things that [00:45:10] we're called to do love god love our [00:45:12] neighbor politics matter because policy [00:45:14] matters because people matter [00:45:16] politics affects policy policy affects [00:45:19] people [00:45:20] and so the church has to be talking [00:45:21] about these things and by the way one [00:45:23] more thing passionate about this one [00:45:25] more thing is that for the christian all [00:45:27] of these things that are considered [00:45:29] political issues like abortion [00:45:31] they're not political issues they're [00:45:32] pre-political issues they're [00:45:34] pre-civilizational issues they're [00:45:36] theological issues that have become [00:45:38] political so of course we should be [00:45:40] talking about them [00:45:47] hi i'm skylar and i'm a senior in high [00:45:49] school and next year i'll be going off [00:45:50] to college and i'm kind of worried about [00:45:52] standing up for christian and [00:45:53] conservative beliefs in an environment [00:45:55] that's kind of harsh towards those do [00:45:57] you have any advice for how to stand up [00:46:00] yeah well i love that you're thinking [00:46:01] about that most people your age are not [00:46:03] thinking about that at all um and so one [00:46:06] thing that i would reiterate is to try [00:46:08] to find as soon as you can like-minded [00:46:10] people um especially christians and not [00:46:14] christians that say that they're [00:46:15] christian but they live and act and [00:46:17] think just like the world does but i'm [00:46:19] talking about people who love god and [00:46:21] love their bible and will hold you [00:46:22] accountable and remind you of what is [00:46:24] true that is your first task when you [00:46:26] get to campus find people find a [00:46:28] ministry that can support you and hold [00:46:30] you accountable and remind you of what [00:46:32] is true at all times and then that gives [00:46:34] you courage having community gives you [00:46:36] courage having like-minded people gives [00:46:38] you courage and again that doesn't mean [00:46:40] that you have to start an argument with [00:46:41] every professor more power to you if you [00:46:43] do [00:46:44] um but pick and choose pick and choose [00:46:46] the things that you want to stand up for [00:46:48] you're going to have baddie professors [00:46:49] that happens everywhere unfortunately [00:46:52] you're going to have them say things [00:46:53] that aren't true but one thing that you [00:46:55] can do whether it's with friends you [00:46:56] know peers or professors is ask [00:46:59] questions that really make them think [00:47:01] okay you said that america was built on [00:47:04] white supremacy and systemic racism what [00:47:07] about this what about what frederick [00:47:08] douglass said ask questions you don't [00:47:10] always have to be adversarial in your [00:47:12] arguments you can ask questions about [00:47:15] why do you believe that what do you mean [00:47:16] by that can you define that word have [00:47:19] the other side really think about why [00:47:21] they believe what they believe that kind [00:47:23] of puts you in a position i think um [00:47:25] to contend for your faith and what you [00:47:28] believe in without always having to be [00:47:30] loudly oppositional if that makes sense [00:47:33] um so yeah find community ask questions [00:47:36] i would say those are two of the first [00:47:38] things that i would tell you [00:47:42] [Applause] [00:47:45] hello um so [00:47:48] yesterday was our last day of class and [00:47:50] we had this yeah so exciting we had this [00:47:52] thing called wolf stock um so named [00:47:55] after woodstock so we're starting from a [00:47:57] little bit of a precarious place already [00:47:59] um but there was a planned parenthood [00:48:02] table yeah um and they were like handing [00:48:05] out ten dollar gift cards or so there's [00:48:08] some kind of raffle that was being [00:48:09] promoted um and it was like [00:48:12] there was some questionable things that [00:48:14] you had to do in order to enter the [00:48:16] raffle and it was just being like [00:48:17] promoted um and we had been at a booth [00:48:20] kind of adjacent and it was just like [00:48:23] honestly really disheartening um as a [00:48:26] christian as a believer to hear this [00:48:27] being just so loudly celebrated yeah um [00:48:30] and [00:48:31] so [00:48:33] your whole message today was one that [00:48:34] was very hopeful like for the future of [00:48:36] the country which is really edifying and [00:48:37] really encouraging um but that's like [00:48:40] from a practical standpoint kind of [00:48:42] thing yeah but i was wondering if from a [00:48:45] scriptural standpoint like you're a [00:48:46] believer is there any scripture that you [00:48:48] cling to in those times when you're like [00:48:50] man this culture is just really [00:48:52] disheartening and like hard to be in yes [00:48:55] of course i feel that every day of [00:48:56] course there's not actually many [00:48:59] moments or many days when i actually do [00:49:00] feel like i can say hey three good [00:49:02] things happen that i think could maybe [00:49:04] be an indication of some good things [00:49:05] that will go on um in our country [00:49:07] because there's so much degeneracy like [00:49:09] there's so much depravity there's so [00:49:11] much sadness there's so much evil i [00:49:13] think [00:49:14] one of the main forms of evil is that we [00:49:17] are celebrating and subsidizing the [00:49:19] slaughter of unborn children every day [00:49:21] in this country and there are millions [00:49:23] of people who don't just allow it to [00:49:24] happen but are actually celebrating the [00:49:26] fact that that happens it is absolutely [00:49:29] disheartening there's literally nights [00:49:30] where i just wake up and i think i can't [00:49:32] believe it's even a debate about whether [00:49:34] or not it's okay to dismember a baby in [00:49:36] the womb but that is a debate and that [00:49:38] is something that's happening and so [00:49:39] you're right to be [00:49:41] sad seeing that just kind of flaunted so [00:49:44] flippantly and celebrated by people who [00:49:46] probably couldn't even tell you what [00:49:47] really happens in an abortion it's [00:49:49] absolutely sad um the things two things [00:49:52] i remember two passages come to mind one [00:49:54] is romans one where [00:49:57] paul god through paul describes the [00:49:59] degeneracy that was going on then we're [00:50:02] talking thousands of years ago inventors [00:50:04] of evil they are described and so i [00:50:07] think about a lot of people today that [00:50:09] seem to be just coming up with new forms [00:50:11] of evil and just wickedness that was [00:50:13] happening thousands of years ago when we [00:50:15] think about some of the things happening [00:50:17] to children thousands of years ago in [00:50:18] ancient greece and rome how children [00:50:20] were so sexually exploited and abused [00:50:22] because they weren't seen as valuable [00:50:24] it's terrible but i also remember wow [00:50:28] god was just as sovereign then as he is [00:50:30] now and we go all the way back to the [00:50:32] old testament i mean god demanded the [00:50:34] death penalty for the sacrifice of [00:50:36] children to moloch so child sacrifice is [00:50:38] almost as old as time [00:50:40] and that can either be i mean that is [00:50:43] disheartening and saddening in one sense [00:50:45] in another sense [00:50:47] it's almost assuring and i'll get to the [00:50:49] assuring part [00:50:50] that evil especially evil towards [00:50:52] children just takes on new and different [00:50:55] forms satan is not creative he's [00:50:57] persistent but he's not creative and so [00:50:59] evil just kind of takes on different [00:51:02] ways in every generation and this is the [00:51:04] evil towards children that we're seeing [00:51:05] one of them in this generation um and [00:51:08] then that brings me to psalm 37 that [00:51:11] starts out by saying you don't have to [00:51:14] worry and paraphrase you don't have to [00:51:15] worry about the evil doers you don't [00:51:16] have to worry about those who perpetuate [00:51:18] wickedness because god's going to do [00:51:20] away with wickedness and evil forever he [00:51:22] is going to make wrong right he is going [00:51:24] to write injustices and he is going to [00:51:27] make sure that every knee bows and every [00:51:29] tongue confesses that jesus christ is [00:51:31] lord and that is the hope that i cling [00:51:33] to when i want to ask god how are you [00:51:35] allowing all this evil to happen i [00:51:37] realize that he's not just allowing it [00:51:38] that one day he's going to come back and [00:51:40] take care of all of it and our role [00:51:42] between now and then is to be hopeful [00:51:44] warriors [00:51:45] is to have hope in eternity and the [00:51:47] knowledge that he is coming back and [00:51:48] that he's fighting on our behalf but he [00:51:50] has called us to bravery and obedience [00:51:52] especially for the voiceless and [00:51:54] defenseless today and that's really all [00:51:56] that we can do as we keep moving forward [00:52:04] based on your political knowledge and [00:52:05] your knowledge about the um beliefs that [00:52:07] the justices have i was just wondering [00:52:09] what your prediction is as to how the [00:52:12] dobbs v jackson case was gonna fold out [00:52:14] this summer yeah and then kind of [00:52:16] pinning off that if it does [00:52:18] hopefully roe v wade is overturned how [00:52:20] that would look in north carolina i know [00:52:22] you're not from here but yeah we have [00:52:23] two abortion facilities in raleigh one [00:52:25] in chapel hill and one in durham so yeah [00:52:28] how it might look here [00:52:29] yes so [00:52:30] um dobbs v jackson is going to be [00:52:33] decided this summer and that is going to [00:52:34] determine whether roe v wade is upheld [00:52:36] or overturned if roe v wade is [00:52:38] overturned that means abortion [00:52:40] legislation will be decided by the [00:52:42] states so that means some states can [00:52:44] absolutely abolish the legal right to [00:52:47] abortion and other states of course they [00:52:49] can do whatever they want to we're [00:52:51] actually already seeing state [00:52:52] legislatures push it to the very limits [00:52:55] we're looking at maryland we're looking [00:52:56] at new jersey we're looking at colorado [00:52:58] and california among other states that [00:53:00] are extending [00:53:01] the right to infanticide not just to 40 [00:53:04] weeks we're talking about you know six [00:53:06] to eight pounds wiggling feeling moving [00:53:09] screaming babies that can be slaughtered [00:53:12] but we're also looking at them [00:53:14] decriminalizing fatal neglect in the [00:53:17] perinatal period perinatal period is 28 [00:53:20] days after birth [00:53:22] so after birth we are looking at [00:53:25] legalized infanticide in some of these [00:53:27] states now that probably won't hold up [00:53:29] long term but that's what's going on um [00:53:31] and so if roe v wade is overturned [00:53:34] that's what we're looking at we are [00:53:35] seeing a more polarized america than [00:53:37] we've ever seen before i think that we [00:53:40] should lean into that like lean into [00:53:42] that polarization make your red states [00:53:44] redder push for the abolition of [00:53:47] abortion that's not gonna get rid of [00:53:49] evil people are still going to travel to [00:53:51] get abortions i don't know about north [00:53:53] carolina i know it's it is red but it's [00:53:55] purple in a lot of ways um and so it's [00:53:58] hard to say i i highly doubt there will [00:54:00] be an abolition of abortion here um but [00:54:03] there could be some more limiting [00:54:05] regulation we'll we'll see about that or [00:54:07] legislation um but [00:54:10] just because people will still seek out [00:54:12] abortions just because women will travel [00:54:14] to other states to get abortions doesn't [00:54:16] mean that we shouldn't restrict it as [00:54:18] much as possible because restricted [00:54:20] abortion is not just about deterring [00:54:22] abortion that's part of it but it is [00:54:24] also by just recognizing the legal right [00:54:26] of unborn children to live it's also [00:54:29] about their legal dignity it's also [00:54:30] about recognizing that human beings that [00:54:32] have rights and so it is vital that the [00:54:35] law recognizes that i'm hopeful that it [00:54:37] will be overturned roberts is kind of [00:54:40] the key there because he's a moderate [00:54:42] and [00:54:43] well i won't say what i'm going to say [00:54:45] what i wanted to say but we just don't [00:54:47] know so we can pray we can pray but some [00:54:49] people some experts are saying that [00:54:51] based on the past decisions that he has [00:54:53] made that it looks good that this will [00:54:55] be overturned in man that is not where [00:54:58] the pro-life movement ends that's not [00:55:00] where the work ends that's where it [00:55:01] begins [00:55:02] so yeah that's what we have to look [00:55:04] forward to either way our job is the [00:55:06] same [00:55:11] hi thank you so much for being here [00:55:12] tonight so um [00:55:15] i share with you my doubts in regards to [00:55:17] just the efficiency of the vaccine but i [00:55:19] want to ask about some ethical issues [00:55:21] with it so there's not necessarily fetal [00:55:24] tissue in vaccines however a lot of [00:55:26] evidence has shown that they have been [00:55:28] developed from fetal cell lines yeah and [00:55:31] so as people who are pro-life um do you [00:55:34] think that we should have an ethical [00:55:36] issue with that even though there's no [00:55:37] fetal tissue in the vaccines yeah i [00:55:39] think it's a really good question [00:55:40] there's an ethical debate surrounding it [00:55:43] there are people that i really respect [00:55:45] on both sides of that debate because [00:55:48] ethics can be kind of like a complicated [00:55:51] subject the fact of the matter that's [00:55:53] true of a lot of vaccines it's not just [00:55:55] the covid vaccine that's true of a lot [00:55:57] of vaccines there are christians who say [00:55:59] you know [00:56:00] it's far enough removed there they they [00:56:03] would say i'm not representing inside [00:56:05] the argument don't get mad at me um they [00:56:07] would say that it's far enough removed [00:56:08] from the original abortion or the [00:56:10] aborted child that it is ethically okay [00:56:12] for a person to take that kind of [00:56:14] vaccine and then there are people that [00:56:16] say no you are still perpetuating evil [00:56:18] you're creating demand for that by [00:56:20] getting that vaccine or other vaccines i [00:56:23] am not going to right now tell you my [00:56:25] particular position on it but i will say [00:56:28] that it's not something just to brush [00:56:30] off for christians who just don't kind [00:56:32] of want to think about it because it's [00:56:33] controversial [00:56:35] it is controversial um but it's also [00:56:38] something to realize that there's a lot [00:56:40] of grace and a lot of discernment that [00:56:42] surrounds that conversation that [00:56:44] christians should be having more i think [00:56:45] we've avoided it a lot until then or [00:56:48] until now but maybe one blessing of this [00:56:50] coveted vaccine is that we do kind of [00:56:52] start asking the ethics of how those [00:56:55] things are made who's making money off [00:56:57] of them how is the demands for this [00:56:59] being driven how is the supply being [00:57:01] driven by what demand and how so [00:57:04] yeah [00:57:05] good question a lot of interesting [00:57:07] debates surrounding it [00:57:12] um hello my name is ali um [00:57:14] um i want i was wondering what is being [00:57:16] done right now about uh the fact [00:57:20] um [00:57:21] that [00:57:22] well i was gonna ask how do you think uh [00:57:25] liberals in general got to the top [00:57:28] uh and we all know that the usa started [00:57:31] as being most of them at least [00:57:32] christians so how do you think liberals [00:57:34] got [00:57:35] my thoughts about that is that is [00:57:37] when um [00:57:39] thinkers got [00:57:42] the right to write to people and talk to [00:57:44] them they made them think they're [00:57:45] talking logically and maybe maybe they [00:57:48] were at that time but then [00:57:50] uh that you will always find people who [00:57:52] push it [00:57:53] through and through till it becomes an [00:57:54] extreme so i don't think there's [00:57:56] anything being done right now by um [00:57:59] conservatives to have some education at [00:58:01] least against the ideas that come all [00:58:04] i'm seeing right now is we grew up in [00:58:06] people are conservatives uh liberals uh [00:58:09] let's say lesbians gays whatever just [00:58:12] identity politics that is being played [00:58:14] all over but there's actually no [00:58:17] um [00:58:19] well i would say [00:58:21] counter argument for what's happening [00:58:24] it's just [00:58:26] i don't know what what do you think [00:58:27] about that also one more thing [00:58:30] i think we need to uh to attack the [00:58:34] issues like separating gods and lows uh [00:58:38] more robust robots i guess more robustly [00:58:40] i guess because uh when we say so let's [00:58:43] say we we also know that the greek [00:58:46] uh civilization was [00:58:48] basically the mother of the western [00:58:49] civilization and it didn't it wasn't [00:58:51] based on god it was actually based on [00:58:53] the greek mythology but they were [00:58:55] actually [00:58:56] guys like plato or aristotle and people [00:58:59] like uh those those actually built the [00:59:01] western civilization so i don't think if [00:59:04] we're gonna say if we're gonna tell [00:59:05] people uh just uh this happened like [00:59:08] then this happened like that we can't [00:59:09] separate them that's why we're not [00:59:11] including anyone and we're just uh the [00:59:13] families who already exist or people who [00:59:15] already are conservatives we'll continue [00:59:18] with the immediate circles okay uh [00:59:21] teaching them but we're not acquiring [00:59:23] any new uh okay thank you so much those [00:59:26] are a lot of really good thoughts and i [00:59:27] can tell you've thought a lot about this [00:59:28] and i really appreciate that and for [00:59:31] sharing those with me so i [00:59:33] do actually think that conservatives um [00:59:36] there is a new wave i would call it the [00:59:38] new right among young [00:59:40] conservatives that i do think is [00:59:42] emerging that who are really thoughtful [00:59:44] and very philosophically profound that [00:59:46] are trying to define what conservatism [00:59:48] means does it just mean being anti-woke [00:59:51] does it just mean not liking crazy [00:59:53] gender stuff but being pro-capitalism [00:59:56] and then i would be on the side and i [00:59:58] think it's important that we define our [01:00:00] terms that we're debating all of this [01:00:01] i'm on the side that simply does not [01:00:04] believe that we can have conservatism [01:00:06] without believing in the biblical [01:00:09] foundation of western civilization and [01:00:12] that doesn't mean that everyone has to [01:00:13] be a christian and that's not what i'm [01:00:14] saying i'm not arguing for a theocracy [01:00:17] but there needs to be an agreement about [01:00:19] where rights come from about what our [01:00:21] laws are based on um basic fundamental [01:00:24] biblical ethics that yes were the [01:00:26] inspiration for western civilization [01:00:28] it's not just greece it is a wedding of [01:00:30] athens in jerusalem western civilization [01:00:33] going if you go all the way back to the [01:00:35] magna carta it's [01:00:38] really what started all of this the [01:00:39] magna carta was before the protestant [01:00:41] reformation but they're all kind of [01:00:43] wrapped together [01:00:44] this idea that there is autonomous [01:00:48] authority in every individual to make [01:00:50] decisions and have certain rights that [01:00:52] goes back hundreds of years that is [01:00:54] really rooted in the biblical idea of [01:00:56] human beings being made in the image of [01:00:57] god greece did not believe that they [01:01:00] basically lived in this pagan world [01:01:01] where the most important the only [01:01:03] important person was the adult free male [01:01:05] everyone else was subjugated and used [01:01:07] and exploited as they saw fit but [01:01:09] christianity came along and said that [01:01:12] hey everyone is made in the image of god [01:01:14] brought about this radical equality and [01:01:16] over time in very just massive [01:01:19] unquantifiable ways changed how we saw [01:01:22] human beings and how we saw what [01:01:24] civilization should look like and how it [01:01:26] should be set up and what equality [01:01:28] actually looks like yes that was [01:01:31] absolutely a christian foundation you [01:01:33] don't have to agree with that [01:01:35] theologically to acknowledge that that's [01:01:36] true and realize we have to preserve [01:01:39] that foundation and those principles in [01:01:41] order to have a free western [01:01:43] civilization [01:01:45] and so i mean and then there's so much [01:01:47] that we could talk about the protestant [01:01:48] reformation without the protestant [01:01:50] reformation there would not be the [01:01:52] united states because [01:01:54] it was against the bureaucracy and the [01:01:57] institution of the catholic church [01:01:59] telling people um what they had to [01:02:01] believe and then the protestants saying [01:02:03] no every individual has a right to a [01:02:05] relationship with god on their own that [01:02:07] absolutely was the foundation of the [01:02:08] constitution and the american revolution [01:02:11] actually which was often referred to as [01:02:13] the presbyterian rebellion it was [01:02:14] theological in nature it was christian [01:02:17] in nature um so i think i disagree with [01:02:19] you but i also really appreciate your [01:02:22] thoughts i think i understand what [01:02:23] you're saying but i hope that i gave you [01:02:25] some of my thoughts to chew on as well [01:02:27] thank you [01:02:29] [Applause] [01:02:33] thank you hi my name is hope and i will [01:02:36] be [01:02:36] a high school senior uh graduating in a [01:02:39] month and heading off to a small [01:02:41] christian liberal arts school where i [01:02:42] hope to major in political journalism [01:02:45] awesome um and that's just been a [01:02:47] calling of mine on god's [01:02:49] on my heart from god since i was little [01:02:52] awesome but what i [01:02:53] really want to ask you [01:02:55] is with that um i want to talk about [01:02:58] truth in the [01:03:00] media generally but really is it worth [01:03:04] it to get into the mainstream media um [01:03:07] with that idea of uh [01:03:10] everything being so [01:03:12] woke in that in that sphere [01:03:14] is there a place or is that just going [01:03:16] to be a bunch of white noise so really [01:03:18] i've just had a lot of people ask me [01:03:20] what i want to do with that degree and i [01:03:21] want a good answer but not something [01:03:24] that's going to be pointless yeah well [01:03:26] look a lot can change over the next four [01:03:28] years [01:03:28] the entire media landscape can change [01:03:30] over the next four years i do think at [01:03:32] least right now there is a space for [01:03:34] independent journalism that did not [01:03:35] exist [01:03:36] a while ago and so it is absolutely [01:03:39] possible to have an impact at um as an [01:03:42] independent journalist or at um a [01:03:45] christian publication or organization [01:03:47] yes there are big megaphones at the [01:03:49] washington post in the new york times [01:03:51] and i'm not saying that no christian [01:03:53] should work there but you're gonna be [01:03:55] hamstrung like you are going to be [01:03:57] forced to call the man a she that's [01:03:59] going to be the editorial policy and so [01:04:01] you have to decide is it worth it to lie [01:04:03] i don't think so if your commitment as a [01:04:06] christian is to live not by lies which i [01:04:08] think is one commitment that we just [01:04:10] have to hold fast to then you have to [01:04:12] put yourself in a position where you're [01:04:13] at least going to be able to tell the [01:04:15] truth right [01:04:16] um and god is going to use that he is [01:04:19] going to use you how he wants to use you [01:04:21] god doesn't need the platform of the new [01:04:23] york times or the washington post to use [01:04:25] you um and so he's going to use you [01:04:28] however and wherever don't worry too [01:04:30] much about what you're going to do in [01:04:32] four years all you can do i think it's [01:04:34] awesome that you can like you feel this [01:04:36] call in your heart towards that that's [01:04:38] awesome i felt the same way about what i [01:04:40] do um take the next right step in faith [01:04:43] with excellence for the glory of god [01:04:45] that is always your job every second of [01:04:48] every day um you can't you can't predict [01:04:50] the future tell people to stop asking [01:04:52] you what you're gonna do in four years [01:04:54] say it that's really annoying um [01:04:57] and um yeah and like what else are you [01:05:00] gonna do with the political journalism [01:05:01] degree of course you're gonna go into [01:05:02] journalism of course um and so but then [01:05:05] again maybe not you never know what god [01:05:07] is going to call you too so just do the [01:05:08] next right thing in faith um and put [01:05:11] yourself in a position where you are [01:05:13] always allowed to tell the truth and the [01:05:15] truth is like a lion all it has to do is [01:05:17] be unleashed and so allow god to use you [01:05:20] in that way and you'll be good [01:05:26] hey how you doing [01:05:28] i got a question so usually i get asked [01:05:30] this a lot i got a lot of friends like [01:05:32] in the humanities and social studies you [01:05:34] know stuff like that a lot of people ask [01:05:36] me and i don't really have like a [01:05:37] correct answer for this [01:05:39] people ask about like do i sacrifice my [01:05:41] grades to stand up for what i believe in [01:05:43] with my professors and stuff like that [01:05:45] or do i kind of just lay down for a bit [01:05:47] kind of get my degree and then get out [01:05:49] there and be active like what would you [01:05:51] say to that yeah i think that is [01:05:54] difficult and it might even be case by [01:05:56] case [01:05:57] but i think again you have to pick and [01:05:59] choose you pick and choose the what and [01:06:01] you pick and choose the how you pick and [01:06:03] choose the what that you're going to [01:06:04] push back on and say i'm sorry that's [01:06:06] just not right i've got to say something [01:06:08] about this it might it's not going to be [01:06:10] every argument probably um [01:06:12] but you never know whose opposition you [01:06:15] are also representing and as we kind of [01:06:17] talked about earlier earlier courage [01:06:19] begets courage and so you standing up [01:06:21] and saying something is wrong or [01:06:22] something is right could have a ripple [01:06:24] effect and you have no idea the impact [01:06:27] that you can have by speaking up you [01:06:28] can't speak up about everything and [01:06:30] there's also a respectful way to do it [01:06:32] there's an inquisitive way to do it [01:06:33] there's a way that you can build [01:06:34] relationships with your professors i [01:06:36] went to a small school that was probably [01:06:37] easier there than here but building a [01:06:39] relationship with people and then [01:06:41] pushing back through thoughtful [01:06:42] questioning and critical thinking [01:06:44] i think that's a possibility but do [01:06:46] everything within your power this is a [01:06:48] way that you can stand up not to lie [01:06:50] don't lie for a good grade that is like [01:06:53] where i would draw the line that doesn't [01:06:54] mean you always have to be verbally [01:06:55] adversarial but at least draw the line [01:06:58] at not line [01:06:59] and if your professor asks you you know [01:07:01] why won't you say this why won't you [01:07:02] argue this way for this paper that is [01:07:04] when i do think it's worth the risk and [01:07:06] you talk to them and you say look this [01:07:07] is what i believe it is possibly worth [01:07:10] the bad grade it is worth the [01:07:12] unpopularity or whatever it is to stand [01:07:15] up for truth and at the very least [01:07:17] refuse to say what you know is not true [01:07:23] [Applause] [01:07:26] hello miss ducky welcome to nc state [01:07:28] we're super glad to have you here thank [01:07:29] you so i see that religion has been a [01:07:32] very important driving factor in your [01:07:34] belief system and it's what creates your [01:07:37] foundation for guiding you towards [01:07:38] conservatism so how do you make [01:07:40] conservatism appeal to people who are [01:07:43] atheist or agnostic yeah so i think that [01:07:46] it already is happening there are a lot [01:07:48] of people that i respect who are not [01:07:50] christians [01:07:51] they're not jewish they are agnostic [01:07:53] they are atheists and i learn a lot from [01:07:55] them i think they have a lot to [01:07:56] contribute to our discourse about [01:07:59] politics and so it can [01:08:02] appeal to people who of course who are [01:08:05] not christians but even those who are [01:08:07] not christians [01:08:09] tend to acknowledge in conservatism the [01:08:11] important foundations and why the [01:08:13] institutions that we have matter why the [01:08:15] principles that we have matter but it [01:08:17] takes a little bit more [01:08:19] convincing in education because they [01:08:22] don't come from the state same starting [01:08:24] point you kind of have to start with you [01:08:26] know these rights that you really like [01:08:28] let's go back and explain like where [01:08:30] they came from and why conservatism [01:08:32] exists um but it is [01:08:35] really difficult for people on the left [01:08:37] who make progressivism their faith who [01:08:40] make government their god who are [01:08:42] dogmatically wedded to the talking [01:08:44] points that they have because i think we [01:08:46] saw during covet for some people just [01:08:49] repeating whatever the mainstream media [01:08:50] tells them is like their form of [01:08:52] righteousness it's their form of [01:08:54] fulfillment and identity and so for a [01:08:58] lot of people on the left it's hard to [01:08:59] take that from them because it's all [01:09:01] that they have it's all that they are if [01:09:02] they can't wear a mask then how are [01:09:04] people gonna know they're a good person [01:09:06] and so [01:09:07] i think that is more difficult but it's [01:09:09] a slow chipping away and i know we keep [01:09:12] saying speak truth speak truth but it [01:09:14] really is just [01:09:15] about that being that squeaky wheel that [01:09:17] continues to bring up what you know is [01:09:19] good and right and true [01:09:21] yeah [01:09:21] [Music] [01:09:24] aly thanks for coming i have a policy [01:09:27] question about north carolina law that [01:09:29] went into effect on february 1st okay so [01:09:31] north carolina women can now get [01:09:32] hormonal hormonal birth control without [01:09:35] a doctor's prescription [01:09:36] the new law could help shrink north [01:09:38] carolina's 44 percent unplanned [01:09:40] pregnancy rate and eliminate some of the [01:09:43] barriers [01:09:44] i had some mixed feelings about that [01:09:45] because initially you know less [01:09:47] unplanned pregnancies seems like a good [01:09:49] thing but do you think there are any [01:09:50] sort of cultural effects of that long [01:09:52] term like you know the sexual liberation [01:09:55] that went on in the 1960s and we've seen [01:09:57] what happens downstream of that do you [01:09:59] think that a law like that is a good [01:10:01] policy um [01:10:02] to advocate for sorry you said free [01:10:05] contraception like free hormonal birth [01:10:06] control um [01:10:08] they don't need a prescription oh so you [01:10:10] can get it over the counter oh oh yeah i [01:10:12] have issues with that for sure because [01:10:15] wow i don't want to go into [01:10:17] the problems with birth control but [01:10:19] there are a lot of problems with birth [01:10:21] control just hormonally for women i [01:10:22] don't feel like women are given informed [01:10:24] consent about this so just like the [01:10:25] abortion laws that allow a midwife to [01:10:28] perform an abortion and [01:10:30] um allow at home abortions they say that [01:10:33] this is for women not only does it harm [01:10:35] the child inside the womb but you're [01:10:36] harming women there are so many [01:10:38] different parts of these procedures [01:10:40] including birth control um that can [01:10:42] really be harmful to women and if you're [01:10:43] not even talking to a medical provider [01:10:45] about that i [01:10:47] i fail to see how that is going to be [01:10:49] long-term helpful as for the cultural [01:10:52] effect of it um of course i mean that's [01:10:55] exactly what we've seen over the past 60 [01:10:57] years it started with no fault divorce [01:10:59] it went to the feminist movement that [01:11:01] tried to separate um sex from [01:11:04] procreation and sex from marriage and [01:11:06] tried to glorify promiscuity as a form [01:11:08] of liberation it's led to oppression [01:11:10] it's led to oppression it's led to [01:11:12] confusion so [01:11:13] absolutely i think there will be a moral [01:11:15] and cultural impact there [01:11:17] um [01:11:18] because we've already seen it we've seen [01:11:19] it we've seen it nationally i do not [01:11:21] think it's a good policy for a woman to [01:11:23] be able to have hormonal birth control [01:11:25] without a prescription i [01:11:27] really see like nothing good coming out [01:11:30] of that so that's unfortunate [01:11:36] gotcha yeah thank you [01:11:42] hi so my name is haley and i go to [01:11:45] university of north carolina chapel hill [01:11:47] which is a very liberal campus [01:11:49] so as a conservative when i'm brought [01:11:52] into any political conversation an [01:11:54] argument i hear a lot is about the party [01:11:56] switch so i just wanted to hear what you [01:11:58] had to say [01:11:59] about that [01:12:01] yeah so they say that the party switched [01:12:03] you know during the [01:12:05] civil rights era and you know they say [01:12:08] this because they just know republicans [01:12:10] have always been a racist i just think [01:12:12] that that is a lot of people i mean [01:12:14] prageru has done a really good video on [01:12:15] this i know candace owens has talked [01:12:17] about this that it was really kind of a [01:12:18] myth that it wasn't there wasn't like [01:12:21] this grand party switch that republicans [01:12:23] have always been the ones or [01:12:25] conservatives i should say have always [01:12:27] been the ones that have been racist or [01:12:29] bigoted or whatever they say to me it's [01:12:31] just kind of like a non-sequitur what [01:12:33] does that have to do with the policies [01:12:34] that we're facing right now like let's [01:12:36] look at the policies of the democratic [01:12:38] party going all the way back to lbj what [01:12:41] has the welfare state what if those [01:12:42] democratic they still claim lbj by the [01:12:45] way what have those democratic policies [01:12:47] done to the very people that they say [01:12:49] that they want to help the black [01:12:50] community decimated it decimated the [01:12:53] family [01:12:54] decimated what was a cohesive community [01:12:57] pre-1950s when segregation and [01:12:59] discrimination and depression were worse [01:13:01] than ever the black family was stronger [01:13:03] and more cohesive then but if you track [01:13:06] the destruction of the family across all [01:13:08] races from the 1960s at the beginning of [01:13:10] the welfare state onward that's what we [01:13:12] see we see the destruction of [01:13:13] communities and so to me [01:13:15] who cares like when the party switched [01:13:17] the democratic party their policies have [01:13:20] been destructive especially for the [01:13:22] vulnerable communities that they say [01:13:24] that they want to help and so you can [01:13:26] just say that's a non-sequitur or that's [01:13:28] interesting um it's interesting that you [01:13:30] brought that up but [01:13:32] what about this what about this policy [01:13:34] have you thought about this how do you [01:13:36] think that impacts the conversations [01:13:39] that we're having today about policy so [01:13:41] you can try to take a more curious [01:13:42] position that kind of helps when people [01:13:44] are very [01:13:45] passionate and adversarial [01:13:47] it doesn't really matter ask about the [01:13:50] policies today and how you think that [01:13:52] they have helped that would maybe [01:13:55] start a good conversation [01:13:58] [Applause] [01:14:02] all right so i'm asking this on behalf [01:14:03] of myself and several other ladies here [01:14:05] um it's really inspiring to see how you [01:14:07] have such an impactful career for um so [01:14:10] many of us i personally love listening [01:14:12] to the podcast and um it's just cool [01:14:14] seeing how you're tying your faith to [01:14:16] your career and how you balance that [01:14:17] with being a mom do you have any great [01:14:19] advice for other ladies here who are [01:14:20] seeking a career um and also want to be [01:14:23] moms one day yes [01:14:25] um [01:14:26] so i always knew that i wanted a job [01:14:29] for this is not everyone's life but i [01:14:32] always knew that i wanted a job that was [01:14:34] flexible that i don't do well with [01:14:36] authority i've never done well with like [01:14:39] bosses or even like my parents growing [01:14:40] up it's great now it wasn't growing up [01:14:42] and so i always knew that i wanted to do [01:14:44] something where i can kind of like book [01:14:46] my own schedule and it allows me for the [01:14:48] flexibility to choose my time how i want [01:14:50] to choose it and all of that i [01:14:51] understand that that is not possible for [01:14:53] everyone um life is a matter of saying [01:14:56] yes to some things and no to other [01:14:58] things and the lie of feminism is that [01:15:00] you can do it all that you can have this [01:15:02] high-powered corporate job where you're [01:15:04] working from 8 00 a.m to 9 00 p.m and [01:15:07] you can still be a full-time mom and be [01:15:08] fully present at home and everything [01:15:10] will be happy and your marriage will be [01:15:11] healthy that's not true like it is a [01:15:14] balancing act constantly it is saying [01:15:17] no for me it is saying no to a lot of [01:15:19] opportunities to work more it is saying [01:15:22] no to a lot of travel it is taking my [01:15:24] mom is with me and my youngest baby is [01:15:27] here um it is taking my kids with me [01:15:29] sometimes when i travel it is coming [01:15:31] home as quickly as possible but just [01:15:33] putting my phone down and making sure [01:15:35] that i am [01:15:36] present but always also [01:15:38] making sure that i am acting in [01:15:42] obedience i don't know it's it's also [01:15:44] it's holding my career with an open hand [01:15:48] not knowing if i'm always going to be [01:15:49] called to this i know i'm always going [01:15:50] to be called to be a mom and that is my [01:15:53] priority i don't know if i'm always [01:15:54] going to be doing this i might just go [01:15:56] into obscurity one day and that'll be [01:15:58] totally fine i might never speak again i [01:16:00] may delete my instagram account and [01:16:01] you'll never hear from me and that would [01:16:04] that would be fine and so i i hold all [01:16:07] of these career responsibilities with an [01:16:09] open hand um and i hold on to my kids [01:16:12] and my marriage really tightly [01:16:14] and so it's kind it's not always perfect [01:16:17] either it's a struggle [01:16:18] gosh it's a struggle [01:16:20] so [01:16:21] i don't know if that's a perfect answer [01:16:23] it's a lot of prayer it's a lot of help [01:16:26] with family it's a lot of making sure [01:16:28] that every step is the right step and [01:16:30] there's a lot of grace and a lot of [01:16:33] just wisdom seeking in in all of it but [01:16:36] if you have to choose [01:16:38] choose being a mom choose choose that [01:16:40] for sure [01:16:46] okay thank you guys so much for coming i [01:16:48] really appreciate it thank you [01:16:51] [Applause] [01:17:08] [Music] [01:17:13] thank you [01:17:16] thank you guys [01:17:22] hello [01:17:39] you

want to thank them for their diligence [00:03:32] their hard work every day putting their [00:03:34] lives on the line for all of us [00:03:36] i would also i would not continue [00:03:38] without thanking a few more instrumented [00:03:40] people of this chapter uh first off i [00:03:41] just want to thank for everybody here [00:03:43] all the volunteers i mean it have been [00:03:45] possible without you and especially [00:03:46] jacob here [00:03:47] next president he's coming up um [00:03:49] really he was the backbone i think to [00:03:51] this whole thing so i really just want [00:03:53] to be able to thank him for all his work [00:03:54] that he's done for this [00:03:58] and then also if you are interested in [00:04:00] maybe trying to start a chapter in your [00:04:01] you get plugged in [00:04:11] and then finally we encourage you to [00:04:12] attend the young women's leadership [00:04:14] summit and the student action summit [00:04:16] this summer [00:04:17] there and these are some of the best [00:04:19] events that turning point uh throws on [00:04:21] so i would really recommend coming to [00:04:23] these [00:04:24] uh and i thank you again for for joining [00:04:26] us we will get started in just a moment [00:04:30] it is government's role to protect our [00:04:32] rights against tyranny government does [00:04:34] not give you rights government [00:04:44] the people they work for us everybody [00:04:47] [Applause] [00:04:48] ladies and gentlemen please welcome to [00:04:51] the stage ally stuckey [00:04:56] [Applause] [00:05:02] hey guys thank you so much for taking [00:05:04] the time to be here i love being in [00:05:06] north carolina it's a really good state [00:05:09] i love this part of the country i've [00:05:11] never been to raleigh i've never been to [00:05:14] north carolina state you guys have a [00:05:16] beautiful campus i went to school in [00:05:18] south carolina [00:05:20] furman university and so i'm kind of [00:05:22] familiar with the area but i haven't [00:05:23] been here before so i'm so thankful to [00:05:25] you guys for having me and for taking [00:05:27] the time to come out and listen um i [00:05:30] really just want to encourage and equip [00:05:32] you as much as i can i want to leave as [00:05:34] long as i can for questions i feel like [00:05:36] that's actually kind of where the fun is [00:05:38] when you guys get to ask the specific [00:05:40] questions that you want and i can give [00:05:42] you the specific advice that you're [00:05:43] looking for but i want you to leave here [00:05:46] feeling really pumped up i want you to [00:05:48] feel really optimistic not just about [00:05:50] where the country is and the potential [00:05:52] future of the country but also [00:05:54] your role in that no matter what your [00:05:56] strength is no matter if you fancy [00:05:58] yourself super involved or knowledgeable [00:06:01] about politics i want you to know that [00:06:04] you are fully equipped to make a [00:06:06] difference in a way that really matters [00:06:08] so there are three big things [00:06:11] that are happening right now that give [00:06:12] me like a really good feeling a really [00:06:15] good indication that things can change [00:06:17] for the better one of those things elon [00:06:20] musk can we just get a round of applause [00:06:22] for elon musk [00:06:24] no that is not that does not mean that i [00:06:27] think that elon musk is necessarily the [00:06:29] savior of western civilization but it is [00:06:32] a really big move that he has bought [00:06:35] twitter and so we're going to talk about [00:06:36] that the second big thing and this is [00:06:39] technically what this tour is about [00:06:41] although thankfully a lot of the [00:06:42] mandates are gone so we're not going to [00:06:44] focus on that but [00:06:46] one of the last dominos has fallen and [00:06:48] that is the removal of the mask mandate [00:06:50] on airplanes which also deserves a round [00:06:53] of applause [00:06:56] and then the third thing that i [00:06:59] that i see is a big kind of bell weather [00:07:02] as an indication of where we're going is [00:07:05] ron desantis you can applaud just at the [00:07:08] name if you want to [00:07:09] or [00:07:10] you can wait until i until i say what [00:07:13] i'm going to say and that is using the [00:07:15] powers and the tools that are [00:07:16] constitutionally available to him to [00:07:18] push back on one of the most powerful [00:07:20] and unfortunately [00:07:22] degenerate and depraved corporations [00:07:25] that exist [00:07:26] in the world to protect the will of the [00:07:28] people of florida that's a big deal and [00:07:31] that is a big deal for our country and [00:07:33] so we'll talk about those three things [00:07:35] and why i think they actually mean [00:07:37] something to you and what you can do as [00:07:40] an individual and how things really can [00:07:42] change for the better because we do also [00:07:45] need to be really honest with ourselves [00:07:47] like about where we are as a country [00:07:49] there are good things that are happening [00:07:51] but there are also some scary things [00:07:53] some bad things that are happening i [00:07:55] mean first and foremost we have a [00:07:57] president who is not with us [00:07:59] he is not fully here we do not have a [00:08:02] commander-in-chief that [00:08:04] that is competent or that is even [00:08:06] cognitively a [00:08:08] uh able available [00:08:10] to defend us as a country and to put our [00:08:13] interests first nor do we have a leading [00:08:15] party who is even interested in doing [00:08:17] that [00:08:18] so that leads to a lot of different [00:08:20] things that leads to open borders [00:08:22] unfortunately that leads to the loss of [00:08:25] life what people tell you is a [00:08:27] compassionate policy letting people into [00:08:29] the country who want to come in that [00:08:31] actually led to the loss of life of an [00:08:33] american that was trying to defend our [00:08:35] country and save the lives of migrants [00:08:37] who jumped in the rio grande he lost his [00:08:39] life [00:08:40] unfortunately the biden administration [00:08:42] didn't even say anything about it until [00:08:43] a few days later but that's one of the [00:08:46] places that also indicates where we are [00:08:48] that we're not really in a very good [00:08:50] place even though we have reason for [00:08:51] optimism [00:08:53] we have a failure of leadership as well [00:08:55] and it's not just when we look at [00:08:57] policies it's not just when we look at [00:08:58] things like inflation that are really [00:09:01] affecting people's lives like the the [00:09:03] messages that i get on a daily basis [00:09:06] from moms and dads who are just [00:09:08] struggling to provide for their families [00:09:10] who are having to budget now just to buy [00:09:12] baby formula in a way that they didn't [00:09:14] have to a year ago people who can't [00:09:16] afford to commute to their jobs anymore [00:09:18] because the gas prices are so high don't [00:09:21] let anyone tell you that that is not in [00:09:22] effect a consequence of the policies [00:09:25] that have been put in place over the [00:09:27] past year and a half and even beyond [00:09:29] that [00:09:30] what we're seeing right now is some very [00:09:32] serious ramifications to social justice [00:09:35] progressive uh progressive policy and [00:09:38] that includes the lawlessness and the [00:09:39] rising crime and homicide in violence [00:09:43] that again is taking the lives of [00:09:44] innocent people in the united states [00:09:47] and it's not just policy consequences [00:09:50] like we have a new supreme court justice [00:09:52] who can't even say what a woman is [00:09:56] we're in a bad spot we're in a bad spot [00:09:59] if one of the top legal minds who was [00:10:01] going to be make decisions that have [00:10:04] consequences that are going to last not [00:10:06] just for our generation but for [00:10:08] generations to come cannot even tell you [00:10:10] what a woman is because she says that [00:10:12] she's not a biologist [00:10:14] that's a problem [00:10:16] if you don't know what a woman is do you [00:10:17] know what women's rights are [00:10:20] how are you able to define those things [00:10:21] if you can't say when life begins when [00:10:24] do people have rights [00:10:26] that's a really big problem [00:10:28] so we look at all of these different [00:10:29] avenues we look at the policy [00:10:32] ramifications that have just made life [00:10:34] harder for people on a day-to-day basis [00:10:37] we look at how godless and purposeless [00:10:40] and [00:10:41] and this microphone keeps going in and [00:10:42] out doesn't it [00:10:44] okay thanks [00:10:46] lonely and confused and just [00:10:49] morally [00:10:51] chaotic [00:10:52] our world is our country is and it's [00:10:55] really easy to despair it's really easy [00:10:58] to be discouraged and to feel like you [00:11:01] know what things are never going to go [00:11:02] back to normal especially for you guys [00:11:05] just thinking about the last two years [00:11:07] yes the last two years were hard [00:11:10] everyone [00:11:11] normalcy was really pulled out from [00:11:13] under the feet of everyone but [00:11:15] especially for you guys that was very [00:11:18] smooth thank you especially for you guys [00:11:21] oh thank you for the round of applause i [00:11:23] really appreciate it [00:11:24] um [00:11:26] you guys will never get adolescents back [00:11:29] you guys will never get if this happened [00:11:32] while you were in college your full [00:11:33] college experience back every single one [00:11:36] of us right now are two years plus [00:11:39] closer to death [00:11:40] than we were two years ago [00:11:43] so that means that we're not going to [00:11:44] get this time back anyone who says oh [00:11:46] well once the mandates go away or once [00:11:48] we get to zero covid by the way zero [00:11:51] covid is [00:11:52] never going to happen you see what's [00:11:53] happening in shanghai right now the [00:11:55] people are actually being killed to keep [00:11:57] them safe [00:11:59] when a government's first priority is to [00:12:00] keep people safe ironically people end [00:12:03] up dying that is what's happening in [00:12:04] shanghai that's what happened in canada [00:12:06] when people tried to fight for their [00:12:08] liberty [00:12:09] and so [00:12:11] over the past two years we've had [00:12:12] normalcy ripped from us and we don't get [00:12:14] those years back and it breaks my heart [00:12:15] for young people especially that you [00:12:18] don't get those experiences and those [00:12:20] memories back that were taken from you [00:12:22] over the past two years however [00:12:25] rather than just kind of like wallowing [00:12:27] in that sadness and that discouragement [00:12:30] thinking wow i think i or i wish that we [00:12:32] could just go back to 2019 when things [00:12:34] were normal or i wish we could go back [00:12:36] to when trump was president [00:12:38] or i wish that we could go back to how [00:12:41] it was when i was growing up in the 90s [00:12:44] the early 2000s or whatever it was it's [00:12:46] really easy to feel nostalgic and to [00:12:48] just feel [00:12:49] like if we could go back to how things [00:12:52] were then maybe it would be better [00:12:54] but here's the news flash that sounds [00:12:56] like bad news but i'll tell you why i [00:12:58] think it's good news [00:13:00] that there is no going back [00:13:02] there's no going back [00:13:04] we're never going to go back to how [00:13:06] things were completely before covet [00:13:08] we're never going to go back to how [00:13:11] patriotic and united we were after 9 11.
