[00:00:07] Ladies and gentlemen, President of the [00:00:10] Republic of Azarbaijan, Mr. Ilhham Ali [00:00:12] and Vice President of the United States [00:00:14] of America, Mr. JD Vance will now sign [00:00:17] the charter on strategic partnership [00:00:20] between the government of the Republic [00:00:21] of Azarbaijan and the government of the [00:00:23] United States of America. [00:00:48] >> [applause] [00:01:00] >> statements for the media by the [00:01:03] president of Azarbaijan and the vice [00:01:04] president of the United States. [00:01:10] [clears throat] [00:01:11] >> Dear Mr. Vice President, dear guests, [00:01:13] ladies and gentlemen, it's a big honor [00:01:16] for us to welcome Mr. Vice President on [00:01:18] official visit to Azarbajan. We had very [00:01:21] good conversation today covering many [00:01:24] issues of our bilateral agenda. We are [00:01:27] very grateful to Trump Vance [00:01:29] administration for a very positive [00:01:32] attitude to Azarbaja. Today's ceremony [00:01:35] of signing of charter on strategic [00:01:38] partnership is a reflection of the very [00:01:41] hard work which our teams [00:01:44] conducted for six months. Six months [00:01:47] ago, historical meeting in Washington [00:01:50] with President Trump and uh signing a [00:01:54] document to establish the working group [00:01:56] to elaborate the charter on strategic [00:01:59] partnership opened the new opportunities [00:02:02] for bilateral cooperation. For us, it's [00:02:05] a great honor to be a strategic partner [00:02:09] to the most powerful country of the [00:02:12] world, United States of America. We're [00:02:14] also very grateful to President Trump, [00:02:17] Vice President Venz and their team for [00:02:21] uh their contribution to peace in the [00:02:23] caucuses. [00:02:25] Last August, Armenian Azarbajan in White [00:02:28] House in the presence of President Trump [00:02:31] initial peace agreement and also we [00:02:34] signed joint declaration [00:02:37] uh on peace which President Trump signed [00:02:40] also as a witness and for these six [00:02:44] months we already live in peace. We are [00:02:47] learning to live in peace and we're very [00:02:49] grateful to United States government for [00:02:52] this great contribution. Not only we [00:02:57] lifted all the restrictions on the [00:02:59] transit of cargo through Azarbajan to [00:03:02] Armenia, but we ourselves started to [00:03:05] supply oil products to Armenia, thus [00:03:08] beginning actually trade and beginning [00:03:11] cooperation. [00:03:13] One of the important results of Trump [00:03:17] vance administration's efforts in our [00:03:20] region is implementation of Trump route [00:03:23] for international peace and prosperity [00:03:25] trip which will not only connect two [00:03:28] part of parts of Azarbajan but also will [00:03:32] be a very reliable safe and largecale [00:03:37] transportation corridor which will [00:03:39] connect Asia with Europe through the [00:03:42] territory of Azarbajan, Armenia and [00:03:46] other neighbors. Thus strengthening what [00:03:49] has been achieved on the peace track in [00:03:52] the region. Today relations between the [00:03:55] United States and Abraan are entering [00:03:58] absolutely new phase in the charter [00:04:02] which we signed with our dear guest. [00:04:05] There are different [00:04:08] directions of our cooperation. We will [00:04:11] continue to work closely on the issues [00:04:13] related to security, anti-terror [00:04:16] operations. [00:04:17] We will continue to work on the issues [00:04:19] related to energy security. Azarbajan [00:04:22] today provides energy security with its [00:04:25] natural gas resources [snorts] [00:04:28] to 16 countries. 11 of them are NATO [00:04:33] members, the allies of United States. [00:04:37] Connectivity as I already mentioned with [00:04:39] trip will be another contribution to [00:04:43] peace development and cooperation in the [00:04:46] region. We're also opening the we are [00:04:49] opening the chapter of cooperation in [00:04:52] defense sales which is also very [00:04:54] promising and of course AI data centers [00:04:58] which today is part of our bilateral [00:05:02] agenda and where we already have [00:05:05] preliminary results in interaction with [00:05:08] the leading American companies. In other [00:05:11] words, today's visit of Vice President [00:05:13] Vance [00:05:15] can be called a historical from point of [00:05:18] view of hosting [00:05:21] uh our friend and guest and from the [00:05:25] point of view of the substance of [00:05:26] negotiations and the strategic charter [00:05:29] which have been signed. Once again, Mr. [00:05:31] Vice President, welcome to Azarbacha. [00:05:34] Well, thank you, President Aliv, and I [00:05:36] want to send the best regards from the [00:05:38] president of the United States, both to [00:05:39] you personally, but also to the people [00:05:41] of Azerbaijan. Uh, this is for a very [00:05:43] long time, I think, been an [00:05:45] underappreciated, but very, very, very [00:05:47] important partnership and friendship for [00:05:48] the United States of America. I think [00:05:50] many Americans may not know that, for [00:05:52] example, the Azerbaianis [00:05:54] uh were some of the last to leave in [00:05:56] Afghanistan. They were very supportive [00:05:58] in the global war on terrorism. They [00:06:00] fought alongside United States Marines [00:06:02] in Afghanistan and in in fact earned a [00:06:05] reputation as being some of the toughest [00:06:06] and fiercest troops anywhere in the [00:06:08] world. And so we wanted to come today to [00:06:11] show our appreciation for this [00:06:12] friendship, but also to really turn the [00:06:14] page and to open up a next chapter and I [00:06:16] think what will be a stronger and even [00:06:18] better relationship under President [00:06:20] Trump's leadership and under President [00:06:22] Alv's leadership here in Azerbaian. [00:06:24] There there's a lot to talk about and [00:06:26] there's a lot to announce. We could [00:06:27] spend, I think, all day up here talking [00:06:29] about some of the great things that are [00:06:30] happening. Uh, we're going to ship some [00:06:32] new boats to Azerbaijan to help you all [00:06:34] with some of your your territorial [00:06:36] waters protection. Uh, we're proud to [00:06:38] announce and I believe I was one of the [00:06:40] very first to fly along the new Trump [00:06:42] road for international peace and [00:06:44] prosperity that will connect the two [00:06:46] separate parts of Azerbaijan. And our [00:06:48] hope is that that will build the kind of [00:06:50] economic and natural resource and [00:06:52] critical mineral cooperation that'll [00:06:55] make it possible to really make this [00:06:57] incredible peace agreement between [00:06:59] Azerbaijan and Armenia stick. Because we [00:07:02] know that one of the great things that [00:07:04] can prevent fighting and prevent wars [00:07:06] from breaking out is when two peoples [00:07:08] culturally exchange with one another [00:07:10] when they spend time working with one [00:07:11] another and of course when they create [00:07:13] great prosperity by working together as [00:07:16] opposed to fighting one another. Now on [00:07:18] the point of the peace agreement I [00:07:19] really do think that President Ali [00:07:21] deserves a great amount of credit. I was [00:07:23] of course just in Armenia earlier today [00:07:26] and without the leadership of the prime [00:07:28] minister of Armenia and the president of [00:07:29] Azarbaijan, we would not have gotten [00:07:32] that peace agreement done and and really [00:07:34] three people I think created historic [00:07:36] peace. The president of this country, [00:07:38] the prime minister of of Armenia and of [00:07:40] course the president of the United [00:07:41] States working together created peace [00:07:44] where previously there was war and I [00:07:45] think in the future will create [00:07:46] prosperity where once there was only [00:07:49] fighting and conflict. That is an [00:07:50] amazing testament to the president's [00:07:52] leadership, but also to president Ali [00:07:54] Aliv's leadership as well. And and [00:07:56] again, this is the sort of thing that [00:07:59] the president of the United States has [00:08:00] committed our foreign policy to. Why [00:08:03] should we be fighting one another when [00:08:05] we can engage in commerce with one [00:08:07] another, when we can build partnerships [00:08:08] with one another? And I think that [00:08:10] partnership, the partnership of the [00:08:12] United States and Azerbaijan will lead [00:08:14] to greater peace and prosperity in the [00:08:15] region. It will lead to more access to [00:08:18] more markets for the workers of the [00:08:19] United States of America. And it's just [00:08:22] going to create a much better world [00:08:24] where people are engaging in commerce [00:08:26] with one another rather than fighting [00:08:28] with one another. And I think that is [00:08:29] the core of the president of the United [00:08:31] States mission and foreign policy is [00:08:34] this recognition that we can organize [00:08:37] around shared interests and actually [00:08:38] build something great to with one [00:08:40] another. uh we signed a strategic [00:08:42] partnership with which I think will [00:08:43] formalize that partnership and make it [00:08:46] very clear that the United States [00:08:47] Azerbaijan relationship is one that will [00:08:50] stick is one that will continue to [00:08:52] produce great fruits for both of our [00:08:53] peoples and just on a personal note I'm [00:08:56] I'm incredibly pleased to be here I was [00:08:58] telling my staff before we landed that [00:09:00] other than President Trump the only [00:09:02] leader in the world that has really good [00:09:04] relations with both the Turks and the [00:09:07] Israelis is President Ali and I said so [00:09:09] that means one, the food must be really [00:09:11] good here, or two, he must be really [00:09:13] charming. I've I I I can confirm that [00:09:16] he's very charming. We're going to find [00:09:18] out in a little bit uh about the food, [00:09:20] and I'm sure it will be great. But let [00:09:21] me let me just say that the second lady [00:09:23] and I are very pleased to be having [00:09:25] dinner later today. And I, as I [00:09:27] understand it, the vice president of [00:09:29] Azerbaijan is also the president's wife. [00:09:33] And hopefully that doesn't give the [00:09:34] second lady any ideas. But I just want [00:09:36] to say that on a personal note, but also [00:09:38] because of our the friendship of our [00:09:40] great nations, I'm very honored to be [00:09:41] here and very honored to continue the [00:09:43] discussion. God bless you. [00:09:44] >> Thank you very much. [00:09:45] >> Thank you all. [applause] [00:09:51] [applause]
