prizes are really bureaucratic and hard! i sit on a few boards of these serious prizes. if you think you have the energy to do it
then we should talk about it. i can talk you through the cool things and the annoying things. everything from our grand
challenges (boris works on one of them) to the x prize, to henry Kravis' prize...it means commitment and lots of publicity - two
things you and i both do not like. a better idea is to find one that is already in existence and make it better. like this one.
younger, hungrier kids are smarter and less beat up by science bureaucracy and ideals. they also have ideas that really
wacky.
sponsoring something like igem would be cheap and you could begin to build up an advisory board that would make it
practical. make the prizes relate to college or grad school - something these kids want or need.
on your thought below - i don't think IT is the dark force as much as i think it is the language that is common to all of these
things?
aside from this theme, are there others you think you want to know more about or explore in depth or do you want to focus on
this one? i like the biophysics of yoga because even though it sounds hoky, if it is correct that there can be real benefit - it
might change the way insurers and common people think about yoga. i think the name should change to something less
abstract-existential sounding.

great find„ here is the concept.. mathematics and its cousin engineering , are truth efficiency based disciplines. beauty ,
elegance. etc.. biology, requires deception, junk, predator prey. IT is the dark force. We might discuss a serious prize ? a
serious conference, advisory board etc.

Wow, these projects are terrific. Perhaps instead of a conference on your own, you can sponsor the next one of these and
invite some of the smart folks you/we gather to m eet up with the kids and generate new ideas. NEAT!
About 30% of these make sense.
