FUEL TANK FLAMMABILITY REDUCTION SYSTEM
For Boeing 737 NG Series
FUEL TANK SAFETY
AerSafe"", a fuel tank flammability reduction system developed by AerSafe". is one of the few Federal
Aviation Administration (FM) approved ignition mitigation means currently available and complies with
the Fuel Tank Flammability Reduction (FTFR) rule. The FTFR rule requires fuel tank ignition sources and
flammability exposure to be reduced in fuel tanks that are most at risk.
With the FAA deadline fast approaching. Boeing 737 operators have two options: a flammability reduction
means such as nitrogen inerting or an ignition mitigation means such as AerSafe. All affected passenger
aircraft flying within or into the United States and operating under FAR Part 121must be manufactured
to meet the FTFR rule or be retrofitted by December 27. 2017 to avoid being grounded.
