As the founder and Chairman of this event, and a CAF Board Member, I am proud to share that this event has raised $7 million since its inception in 2007 and has helped CAF support more than 8,200 physically challenged athletes to become whole through sports. Each year I think this night can't be topped, but I assure you this years 8th Annual Celebration of Heroes, Heart and Hope Gala on June 11, 2014 at the Waldorf=Astoria in New York City is one you won't want to miss. "Normally you walk around and you see everybody with two legs, " said survivor Celeste Corcoran, pausing to choke back tears. "It's easy to miss yours. But when I see all of the challenged athletes walking and running, it's OK," she said, "I just want to be able to do the things that I did before... so many people have my back, I feel like I can do it." This year you will be meet courageous Boston Hero Celeste Corcoran along with Alana Nichols, an adaptive skier who became paralyzed at the age of 17 and is now on track for 5 medals at the Sochi Paralympic games, and bi-lateral amputee Brayton O'Neill, a five-year-old sports enthusiast who was recently featured in Microsoft's #Empowering commercial during the Super Bowl.
