[00:00:04] You all set?
[00:00:06] So, I have some incredible people and
[00:00:09] this is a very exciting thing that we're
[00:00:12] doing and it was fast. They've wanted to
[00:00:15] do it. I understand they've been here
[00:00:17] hundreds of times over the years trying
[00:00:19] to do it. And they're going to give you
[00:00:21] a little bit of history. Uh Roger
[00:00:23] Pensky, everybody knows, he's a legend
[00:00:26] in many different things, but certainly
[00:00:27] in racing, he's won the Indianapolis 500
[00:00:30] 20 times. Uh on the 18th time, I said,
[00:00:34] he's been a friend of mine for a long
[00:00:35] time. But on the 18th time, I said, I
[00:00:37] think I'm going to give him the
[00:00:38] Presidential Medal of Freedom because
[00:00:40] you know how do you do that? Japan,
[00:00:42] Germany, Roger, right? Everybody, they
[00:00:44] they want to they want to win the Indie
[00:00:46] 500.
[00:00:47] >> They spend billions of dollars getting a
[00:00:50] car. This guy wins it like every year.
[00:00:52] He won it so many times that he ended up
[00:00:54] buying the track. So now he owns the
[00:00:56] track. He owns the race. It's pretty
[00:00:58] good. Now he's won it though. He won it
[00:01:00] two times since he got it. And uh it's a
[00:01:03] total of 20. And didn't you win the
[00:01:06] Daytona 500?
[00:01:07] >> Yes. How many times?
[00:01:08] >> Four times.
[00:01:09] >> That's all.
[00:01:12] [laughter]
[00:01:12] >> That's terrible. I can't believe it.
[00:01:14] Anyway, if if you win it once, it's like
[00:01:17] great. It's the guy's amazing. He's a
[00:01:19] genius and a real genius at cars and
[00:01:22] racing and they are going to put up
[00:01:25] something that's uh really amazing. It's
[00:01:28] really having to do with our great 250th
[00:01:31] birthday where we're having so many
[00:01:33] wonderful things. UFC is coming as you
[00:01:35] know in front of the White House with
[00:01:36] building literally a stadium. We're
[00:01:38] going to have a over 100,000 people and
[00:01:41] this is going to have a lot of people. I
[00:01:43] won't even say how many people because I
[00:01:45] think it can set a record for racing.
[00:01:47] It's going to be very very uh important.
[00:01:49] We're celebrating greatness with
[00:01:52] American motor racing. That's going to
[00:01:53] be the name of the event. It's going to
[00:01:55] play take place on August 21st through
[00:01:58] the 23rd.
[00:02:00] And it's going to be so exciting. And uh
[00:02:03] I love the racing. I don't have a lot of
[00:02:04] time to watch it, but I love the racing.
[00:02:07] And uh just before we start, I will say
[00:02:10] numbers came out this morning. The uh
[00:02:13] they're phenomenal for the country. So,
[00:02:16] uh, we announced yesterday that for the
[00:02:18] first time in, I think 28 years, uh,
[00:02:21] America made more steel than Japan. Can
[00:02:23] you believe it? Japan's a big steel
[00:02:25] country. America made more steel than
[00:02:28] Japan. Uh, the numbers are record
[00:02:32] setting numbers. Every one of our
[00:02:33] numbers are are doing, we've never had
[00:02:35] anything like it. We have over 18
[00:02:37] trillion dollars coming into our
[00:02:39] country. We're building thousands of uh
[00:02:41] plants and all sorts of businesses all
[00:02:44] over the United States. It's never been
[00:02:46] anything like it. Uh $18 trillion
[00:02:49] investment. So we have over fellas, we
[00:02:51] have over $18 trillion being invested in
[00:02:54] the United States of America. The record
[00:02:57] was three trillion 10 years ago, not by
[00:02:59] us, by another country. And uh we're
[00:03:02] going to do 18. And I think the 18 is
[00:03:04] going to go higher. We're just looking
[00:03:05] at 11 months. The 12th month hasn't come
[00:03:07] in yet, but it's going to bring us over
[00:03:10] 18, maybe even hit 20. So, you have 18
[00:03:12] to 20 trillion dollars coming in. And
[00:03:15] we've never had anything like it. Uh we
[00:03:20] have a record. We just set, as you know,
[00:03:23] the S&P 500 just set a new record,
[00:03:25] 7,000. Nobody thought that was possible
[00:03:28] this quicker time. They thought maybe at
[00:03:30] the end of four years or five years or
[00:03:31] six years, but we did it in the first
[00:03:34] year and we had 48 uh stock market
[00:03:39] highs, Roger. So Roger's a big
[00:03:41] beneficiary because he has a lot of
[00:03:42] stock, but anybody that has stock
[00:03:44] including people with 401ks. So the
[00:03:47] economy has never been like this. It was
[00:03:50] just announced that crime is at an
[00:03:52] all-time low. lowest number low best
[00:03:55] numbers on crime
[00:03:57] uh in the history in the recorded
[00:03:59] history of our country and the lowest
[00:04:01] numbers of murders in the history of our
[00:04:05] country that we have recorded history
[00:04:06] goes back 125 years. That's not bad. And
[00:04:10] a lot of that is because of the fact
[00:04:11] that we have a closed border. We've
[00:04:13] taken out thousands and thousands of
[00:04:15] criminals and murderers and drug dealers
[00:04:17] and everything else. We've either
[00:04:19] brought them back to the their country
[00:04:21] or in some cases we have to put them in
[00:04:23] our jails because we don't want to we
[00:04:24] don't want to have them come back. And
[00:04:27] so we don't want to just bring them back
[00:04:28] to their country and then they maybe
[00:04:29] come back despite our border. They're
[00:04:31] pretty sneaky, pretty smart. So we're
[00:04:34] doing things that nobody's ever seen
[00:04:36] before. The country is really in great
[00:04:38] shape. We have a uh large armada
[00:04:42] flotillaa. You can call it whatever you
[00:04:44] want. Heading toward Iran right now,
[00:04:48] even larger than what we had in
[00:04:50] Venezuela. It's still in front of
[00:04:52] Venezuela. The Venezuelan situation. The
[00:04:55] leadership is doing a very good job.
[00:04:57] We're very happy. And we're getting
[00:04:59] along very, very well. And we're
[00:05:02] inviting countries of the world very
[00:05:04] shortly. They're going to be starting to
[00:05:06] take the oil. we're going to be heading
[00:05:09] that with the country and it's worked
[00:05:12] out really well. We're now sending
[00:05:15] actually a larger number of ships to
[00:05:17] Iran and hopefully we'll make a deal. If
[00:05:19] we do make a deal, that's good. If we
[00:05:21] don't make a deal, we'll see what
[00:05:22] happens. But this is going to be
[00:05:25] exciting. So, I'm going to ask uh and he
[00:05:27] really is a legend. He's a great man.
[00:05:28] I've known him for a tremendously long
[00:05:31] time. I refuse to say we were both
[00:05:33] young. Now, we're both a little older.
[00:05:35] We refuse to say old, but we're a little
[00:05:37] older. But Roger Pensky is uh the
[00:05:41] chairman, as you know, of Penske
[00:05:43] Corporation. He's got everything you can
[00:05:45] imagine, mostly, I think, to do with
[00:05:48] automotive.
[00:05:49] And uh I'd like to ask him to say a few
[00:05:51] words about the event because this is
[00:05:53] going to be they're putting everything
[00:05:54] behind it, and I think it's going to be
[00:05:56] really exciting. Roger, please.
[00:05:59] >> Well, thank you, Mr. President. This is
[00:06:01] a really amazing time for us. uh as a
[00:06:06] company uh to support the 250th
[00:06:09] anniversary for the country and there's
[00:06:13] no better way for us to bring automotive
[00:06:16] and speed into the DC area and to have
[00:06:20] the opportunity to be able to compete
[00:06:23] here with our indie cars. As you know,
[00:06:26] we own the Indianapolis Motor Speedway
[00:06:28] and we are taking that history of over a
[00:06:31] hundred years and the speed and what's
[00:06:33] taken place there with the different
[00:06:35] manufacturers and bringing it here to
[00:06:38] this race will be amazing. Certainly the
[00:06:40] Freedom 250 when you think about it.
[00:06:43] It's just a byproduct of what the
[00:06:45] president has done during this year and
[00:06:47] this will be event obviously in August
[00:06:50] which will make a huge difference and
[00:06:51] we're excited be areas for people to see
[00:06:54] most of the grounds will be free so it's
[00:06:57] going to be an economic benefit
[00:07:00] to the area to the city and obviously
[00:07:03] with our Fox partner Eric Shanks will be
[00:07:06] our media partner and believe me what
[00:07:08] they did for us at Indie this past year
[00:07:10] they're going to take that and put it on
[00:07:12] steroids really and take it to the next
[00:07:14] level. So, thank you, Mr. President, for
[00:07:16] allowing us to come into your city.
[00:07:17] >> That's so great.
[00:07:18] >> Thank you. Great, great, man. Uh Eric,
[00:07:22] I'd like to have you say a few words. Uh
[00:07:24] he's done a fantastic job at Fox and
[00:07:26] he's really excited about this and I
[00:07:28] know they're going to lay it on the
[00:07:30] line.
[00:07:30] >> Eric, please.
[00:07:31] >> Sure. Well, thank you, Mr. President,
[00:07:33] for having us here today. Uh big shout
[00:07:35] out to Secretary Duffy. This project was
[00:07:38] kind of on life support until you
[00:07:40] stepped in recently. um and got us here
[00:07:43] today. Secretary Bergam, your team has
[00:07:45] been absolutely incredible.
[00:07:46] >> Explain how many times you came to
[00:07:48] Washington trying to do this.
[00:07:49] >> Uh I think Bud came here 81 times.
[00:07:52] >> 81 meetings I had in capital.
[00:07:54] >> Meeting with senators, meeting with
[00:07:55] people at the capital and they all
[00:07:57] wanted it. Everybody wanted it, but they
[00:08:00] couldn't figure it out. It was crazy. 80
[00:08:03] some odd times. That's pretty amazing.
[00:08:05] So go ahead, please. Well, it's it's a
[00:08:08] real honor to be a partner with Roger
[00:08:10] and Indie Car. And at Fox Sports, we do
[00:08:13] the biggest events in sports. This year,
[00:08:15] we have the FIFA World Cup uh that we'll
[00:08:18] be celebrating here as well. And then
[00:08:20] dovetailing right after that, to be able
[00:08:22] to celebrate America's birthday on Fox,
[00:08:26] um is an absolutely incredible honor.
[00:08:29] and everyone at Fox Sports can't wait uh
[00:08:32] to see exactly how this is going to
[00:08:34] unfold and and bring it to life. So, Mr.
[00:08:36] President, thank you again for signing
[00:08:38] this today.
[00:08:39] >> And the big thing, it's August 21st
[00:08:41] through the 23rd and I believe the race
[00:08:43] is on the 23rd, right?
[00:08:45] >> Yes.
[00:08:45] >> It's going to be incredible. They're
[00:08:47] going to have practice sessions. It's
[00:08:48] going to be just a very exciting period,
[00:08:50] I think, for Washington. Uh, if I could,
[00:08:53] I'd like to ask Sean Duffy, the
[00:08:55] Secretary of Transportation, who's
[00:08:57] terrific and doing a great job. Much
[00:08:59] much more important than Sean is we have
[00:09:01] Rachel Campus Duffy here, and she's one
[00:09:04] of the greatest people I know and one of
[00:09:06] the greatest people on television, so
[00:09:08] most of you know her, but I don't think
[00:09:10] we'll have her speak about the race
[00:09:11] because she knows less about it than
[00:09:13] anybody up here.
[00:09:14] >> But she is fantastic.
[00:09:15] >> Fox, [laughter]
[00:09:16] >> Sean, please.
[00:09:17] >> So, the president gave us all a
[00:09:19] directive, which I'm grateful for. we
[00:09:20] we're going to celebrate America's 250th
[00:09:22] birthday. And he asked all of us to
[00:09:24] think outside the box. How do we make
[00:09:27] this historic and cool and let's all do
[00:09:29] this together. And he loves the country.
[00:09:31] It loves the birthday. And so, uh, we at
[00:09:34] DOT were working on this concept. We
[00:09:36] didn't know at the same time. Pensky was
[00:09:38] working on the same project, too. And,
[00:09:40] uh, so we've come together and and Doug
[00:09:42] has been a wonderful partner. Uh but to
[00:09:44] think 190 miles an hour down
[00:09:47] Pennsylvania Avenue, um this
[00:09:49] [clears throat] is going to be wild. Uh
[00:09:51] the last time we had a race in the
[00:09:53] capital city, bud, was when?
[00:09:56] >> 1801 of Thomas Jefferson with a horse
[00:09:57] race.
[00:09:58] >> A horse race in 1801, Mr. President. Now
[00:10:00] we're going to do it. We're going to do
[00:10:01] a real race.
[00:10:02] >> That's so great. That's such a great
[00:10:05] >> So uh listen, this doesn't happen. You
[00:10:07] know, these we just don't come in and
[00:10:09] and have the ask the president to sign.
[00:10:10] There's a lot of work that goes into
[00:10:12] this. As you can tell, Bud Bud and uh my
[00:10:14] chief of staff, Pete, all had a lot of
[00:10:16] meetings on the hill. We couldn't be
[00:10:17] more excited about this. Again, I'm
[00:10:19] going to repeat this is free for the
[00:10:21] American people to come to your nation's
[00:10:24] capital and see a great road race,
[00:10:27] freedom, America, speed, and uh road
[00:10:31] racing. It doesn't get more American
[00:10:32] than that, Mr. President. So, thank you
[00:10:34] for signing this and thanks for all your
[00:10:35] support.
[00:10:36] >> Fantastic. And what a job you've done.
[00:10:37] They put it together very quickly.
[00:10:38] They've been coming here for years and
[00:10:41] everybody wanted it. You know, every
[00:10:42] senator wants it, every Congress,
[00:10:44] everybody wants it, but they don't get
[00:10:46] things done.
[00:10:48] >> Trump gets things done. We didn't have
[00:10:50] 89 meetings. We had maybe a half a
[00:10:52] meeting. I think this is probably about
[00:10:54] a half a meeting. Uh, I'd like to thank
[00:10:57] Pete Meechum for the great job you've
[00:10:59] done representing us and Luke Bunting.
[00:11:01] These are two young people that work
[00:11:04] with us and they've uh really been
[00:11:06] fantastic. I'd like to ask Doug Bergam
[00:11:09] to say a few words. He's very much
[00:11:10] involved through his position of
[00:11:14] interior because a lot of the space is
[00:11:16] interior. He sort of has I think he's
[00:11:18] the largest landlord anywhere in the
[00:11:19] world by far. So, so Doug, could you say
[00:11:21] a few words, please?
[00:11:22] >> Yeah, absolutely. Uh thank you, Mr.
[00:11:24] President.
[00:11:26] this birthday that's coming up uh the
[00:11:28] 250th anniversary of America, Freedom
[00:11:30] 250, uh is the most monumental birthday
[00:11:33] maybe of any country ever in the history
[00:11:35] of the world. And President Trump with
[00:11:38] his directive to celebrate this thing,
[00:11:40] uh we've got a what's more American than
[00:11:42] race car driving? Uh what's more
[00:11:44] monumental uh than the Indie 500 uh as a
[00:11:48] as a as an icon of what's going on in
[00:11:50] our country? And so merging the the
[00:11:53] history and the tradition of our capital
[00:11:55] Washington DC with the speed and the
[00:11:56] innovation that goes on in the Indie Car
[00:11:59] series uh is incredible and it's a great
[00:12:01] metaphor because uh the speeds we're
[00:12:03] talking about is the speed of President
[00:12:05] Trump. I want to reiterate there weren't
[00:12:07] 81 meetings with the Trump
[00:12:08] administration. I think it was they
[00:12:10] called President Trump. Uh he got Sean
[00:12:12] and I going and uh and was it that was
[00:12:14] like from Saturday till now we have a
[00:12:16] race.
[00:12:16] >> One week
[00:12:16] >> one week we have a race as opposed to
[00:12:18] like four months of talking. So, I think
[00:12:20] there's also a metaphor here about
[00:12:21] President Trump who's an incredible
[00:12:23] sportsman. He's an athlete himself, but
[00:12:25] he loves sports. And so, whether it's
[00:12:27] soccer, UFC, uh the football draft, NFL
[00:12:30] football draft coming Inar, uh and and
[00:12:33] all the teams that he hosts here, I
[00:12:34] mean, to any American who loves sports,
[00:12:36] you ought to love this president because
[00:12:38] he's bringing professional sports to our
[00:12:40] capital. Uh, and again, uh, August 21st
[00:12:43] to 23rd, you talk about the economic
[00:12:45] impact, by the time all those reporters
[00:12:47] get done telling the story, there's not
[00:12:48] going to be a hotel room available in
[00:12:50] this city, uh, on that weekend because
[00:12:52] everybody's going to want to be here.
[00:12:54] People that maybe have wanted to see an
[00:12:55] Indie Car race their whole life are now
[00:12:57] going to have an opportunity to come to
[00:12:58] their capital, celebrate 250, and see an
[00:13:01] Indie car race for free. Uh, and they're
[00:13:03] going to be able to see it on the
[00:13:04] National Mall. And you wherever you put
[00:13:06] down your lawn chair and watch this race
[00:13:08] for free, you're going to be staring at
[00:13:09] the Washington Monument, the Lincoln
[00:13:10] Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial. Uh,
[00:13:12] and I'm sure there's going to be
[00:13:13] fireworks this weekend, too. I'm sure of
[00:13:15] that. And if you need a permit, you can
[00:13:16] get one for the Terrier. So, so anyway,
[00:13:18] it's it's absolutely incredible. And
[00:13:20] congratulations to Sean, uh, the Penske
[00:13:22] organization, Fox Sports, everybody for
[00:13:24] putting together this is going to be a
[00:13:26] great celebration for America.
[00:13:28] >> Thank you very much. And you're doing a
[00:13:29] fantastic job. Could I just ask Bud
[00:13:32] Danker, he's the president of Penske
[00:13:34] Corporation, to say a few words, please?
[00:13:36] >> Well, thank you, Mr. President. You
[00:13:37] know, Eric Shanks and I from Fox had
[00:13:39] this dream, and just last July, and
[00:13:41] could it ever be possible to bring a
[00:13:43] race to our nation's capital to
[00:13:44] celebrate our country's history? And
[00:13:46] everybody said, "There's no way. It's
[00:13:48] impossible. How do you put a race on at
[00:13:49] 190 mph in a city like Washington DC?" I
[00:13:52] came here, I walked the area for a
[00:13:54] while, I found a racetrack on the
[00:13:55] Capitol grounds up against a lot of
[00:13:57] meetings and couldn't get the kind of
[00:13:58] support we need. So within a week,
[00:14:00] Secretary Duffy and we we put this
[00:14:02] together with the president, didn't we?
[00:14:04] And we now we have a race here um on our
[00:14:06] on our city property, on the national
[00:14:09] properties that is going to celebrate
[00:14:10] America. The word free shouldn't be
[00:14:12] overridden because we are going to have
[00:14:13] a free event here. People come out and
[00:14:15] celebrate our country's history. I also
[00:14:17] want to thank Mayor Bowser. She has been
[00:14:19] a great partner in this process as well
[00:14:21] too. So I know, Mr. President, she's a
[00:14:24] great supporter of what you've done here
[00:14:25] in the city as well too and we thank her
[00:14:26] for this. But we're going to have an
[00:14:28] amazing event. We're going to make
[00:14:30] everybody in this country proud. We want
[00:14:32] everybody to come out for free and enjoy
[00:14:34] this and celebrate our country the way
[00:14:36] it should be here in the nation's
[00:14:37] capital. Thank you, Mr. President.
[00:14:39] >> And I said, pick the best site. It's
[00:14:41] very important. Pick the best site.
[00:14:43] Don't go for second or third because
[00:14:45] there a lot of different routes. I said
[00:14:46] pick even if it's more difficult to get
[00:14:49] to get approved, pick the absolute best
[00:14:52] site. And they were actually looking at
[00:14:53] another site. And when I said that, they
[00:14:56] said, "Well, the best site is this site,
[00:14:59] the site we're doing." I said, "Let's
[00:15:01] take a look at it." And we think it's
[00:15:03] the best site, too. Uh, it's actually
[00:15:06] better than the original site they were
[00:15:07] looking at. But if we're going to do it,
[00:15:09] we want to do it right. So, this is
[00:15:11] going to be something in terms of the
[00:15:12] road width, the crowds, and everything
[00:15:14] else that we can all the best site, one
[00:15:16] of the best sites I've ever seen,
[00:15:18] actually. And it'll be beautiful. So,
[00:15:20] I'm going to sign this. And if you have
[00:15:22] any questions on this subject, that'll
[00:15:24] be great. We just named a new Fed
[00:15:26] chairman today. You know that is he's a
[00:15:29] central casting. He's like Roger Pensky.
[00:15:31] Central casting
[00:15:34] guys.
[00:15:35] >> You know him, Roger.
[00:15:37] Very good guy.
[00:15:43] Roger. No auto pen. I didn't use an auto
[00:15:45] [laughter]
[00:15:46] here. Roger. Take that.
[00:15:48] >> I will.
[00:15:52] >> Here you go.
[00:15:54] I didn't want to sign each letter. You
[00:15:55] know, they sign each letter. They hand
[00:15:57] pens. I used to watch these presidents.
[00:15:59] [laughter] One letter. You got to see
[00:16:01] what it looks like at the end. Never
[00:16:02] looks never looks too good. Here,
[00:16:04] Rachel. Take that. Thanks for your team.
[00:16:08] >> Thank you.
[00:16:09] >> Uh,
[00:16:10] congratulations. This is really
[00:16:12] exciting.
[00:16:13] >> Thank you. [applause]
[00:16:19] [applause]
[00:16:21] >> Fed chair nominee since you just brought
[00:16:22] it up. Did Kevin Marsh commit to you
[00:16:25] that he will push to cut interest rates
[00:16:27] if he is confirmed?
[00:16:28] >> No, but we talk about it and I've been
[00:16:30] following him and I don't want to ask
[00:16:32] him that question. I think it's
[00:16:33] inappropriate. Probably it probably
[00:16:36] would be allowed, but I want to keep it
[00:16:38] nice and pure, but he certainly wants to
[00:16:40] cut rates. I've been watching him for a
[00:16:42] long time.
[00:16:44] >> Did you have any concerns about his
[00:16:45] hawkish history of pushing for rate
[00:16:48] hikes?
[00:16:49] >> He's going to want to do the same thing.
[00:16:50] I think that yeah, I've had times when I
[00:16:52] think you've had thoroughly have rate
[00:16:54] hikes, too. But, uh, he's very smart,
[00:16:58] very good, strong, young, pretty young,
[00:17:01] and, uh, he's going to do a guy. I mean,
[00:17:04] he he was the central casting guy that
[00:17:06] people wanted. Kevin was great. I tell
[00:17:08] you what, I met numerous people. Every
[00:17:11] one of them were fantastic. Really
[00:17:13] fantastic. I wanted to keep Kevin here.
[00:17:16] Um, and I thought that uh I call Kevin
[00:17:19] 1, Kevin 2, and we have uh I said it's
[00:17:22] going to be a Kevin. But uh you know,
[00:17:25] Kevin really has been fantastic at the
[00:17:27] White House. You all know him. You know
[00:17:29] him very well.
[00:17:30] >> And so we have Kevin Kevin W. Uh
[00:17:33] >> are you concerned, Mr. President, about
[00:17:35] the confirmation hearings? We've heard
[00:17:36] Senator Tillis. You think
[00:17:38] >> with the DOJ investigation?
[00:17:40] >> This is this is in the whole country. I
[00:17:43] would say that this was the, you know,
[00:17:46] perfect candidate. This was not a
[00:17:48] surprise or anything. This was the man
[00:17:49] that's most qualified.
[00:17:52] Top student, best schools, everything
[00:17:54] was like perfect. Youngest person ever
[00:17:57] to serve on the Fed.
[00:17:59] Got the whole package. Looks don't mean
[00:18:01] anything, but he's got the look, right,
[00:18:03] Roger? Looks don't mean anything, but if
[00:18:04] they have the look, it's okay. But he's
[00:18:06] got the whole package, and I think he's
[00:18:08] going to do a great job, and he loves
[00:18:10] the country.
[00:18:11] President, please
[00:18:14] >> in the back. Yes.
[00:18:15] >> Uh, are you giving Iran any kind of
[00:18:16] deadline to make a deal before
[00:18:18] potentially taking
[00:18:19] >> only they know for sure.
[00:18:21] >> Have you communicated that to them
[00:18:22] directly?
[00:18:22] >> I have.
[00:18:26] >> When you're going to pull back
[00:18:28] potentially the federal presence there?
[00:18:30] >> Well, we'll see how it all works out.
[00:18:32] You know, they have to float someplace.
[00:18:34] They might as well float near Iran. But
[00:18:36] it's a rough situation going in. So, I
[00:18:38] stopped 837 people as you know last week
[00:18:42] from being hung. They were going to hang
[00:18:44] 830 was all set and uh I mean I'm
[00:18:49] looking at the people behind me this say
[00:18:51] what kind of racing is a lot a lot nicer
[00:18:53] than that. Uh they were going to hang
[00:18:56] 837 people and I told them if you do it
[00:18:59] you're going to pay a price like
[00:19:00] nobody's ever paid before and they
[00:19:01] pulled back. I appreciated that but a
[00:19:04] lot of people are being killed so we'll
[00:19:05] see what happens.
[00:19:07] I can say this. They do want to make a
[00:19:09] deal.
[00:19:09] >> Mr. President, about Virginia. Actually,
[00:19:11] Virginia flipped the governorship and
[00:19:13] now they're looking at 50 proposals to
[00:19:14] increase taxes. What do you think about
[00:19:17] that?
[00:19:17] >> Well, I think it's terrible. I think a
[00:19:19] lot of people will leave Virginia. I I
[00:19:21] saw that. Look, uh Glenn was a friend of
[00:19:24] mine, Glenn Yncan, and worked so hard on
[00:19:27] cutting taxes, this and this woman came
[00:19:29] in and in one swoop, she raised
[00:19:31] everything up higher than it ever was. I
[00:19:33] don't understand it. I mean, people
[00:19:35] voted for Democrat, but she came in and
[00:19:38] she raised and I'll work with her like I
[00:19:41] work with everyone else. But she came
[00:19:42] into Virginia, raised everything to a
[00:19:46] point like no taxes that nobody ever
[00:19:48] even heard of before. And I I don't
[00:19:50] understand how do people get elected
[00:19:52] with this kind of philosophy. This is
[00:19:54] only in the very modern age. You know, I
[00:19:56] grew up and I've always heard
[00:19:58] politicians, we'll cut taxes. We'll cut.
[00:20:00] Everybody's screaming, "We're going to
[00:20:01] cut taxes. I cut taxes. I gave you
[00:20:05] [clears throat] the biggest tax cut in
[00:20:07] the history of our country in the great
[00:20:08] big beautiful bill. No tax on tips, no
[00:20:11] tax on social security, no tax on
[00:20:13] overtime, interest deductions, Roger.
[00:20:15] When somebody buys a car, they can
[00:20:17] deduct the interest if they borrow
[00:20:19] money. That's the biggest thing in terms
[00:20:21] of the car business, right?
[00:20:22] >> Americanmade ones.
[00:20:24] >> Correct. So, uh, we have, you know, I
[00:20:27] give tax cuts and they give tax
[00:20:30] increases. I don't I don't know how they
[00:20:31] get elected. They get elected because
[00:20:33] they cheat. You want to know the truth?
[00:20:36] >> If they didn't cheat, if they didn't
[00:20:38] cheat, uh they'd have no chance. They
[00:20:42] have horrible policy, transgender for
[00:20:45] everyone. They have uh the little thing
[00:20:47] about open borders so that the world's
[00:20:49] prison population and mental hospitals
[00:20:52] can be emptied into our country. It's
[00:20:54] just a crazy men playing in women's
[00:20:56] sports.
[00:20:58] Roger, are you a fan of men playing in
[00:20:59] women's sports?
[00:21:01] only as a better. He'd like to bet if
[00:21:03] you
[00:21:04] >> not You're not a big You're not a big
[00:21:06] fan. I don't think so.
[00:21:08] >> I have a I don't I don't want to get him
[00:21:09] in trouble, but
[00:21:11] >> I think he joins the 99%. They say it's
[00:21:13] an 8020 issue. I think it's a
[00:21:15] >> It's a It's maybe 99 It's 99.
[00:21:19] >> Mr. President, why are you suing your
[00:21:21] own administration and the IRS? Why are
[00:21:23] you suing?
[00:21:23] >> Who are you with?
[00:21:24] >> I'm with ABC News.
[00:21:25] >> You're a loud person. Very loud. Let
[00:21:28] somebody else have a chance.
[00:21:29] >> Can you answer the question? Why are you
[00:21:30] suing IRS
[00:21:31] >> ABC fake news.
[00:21:32] >> You're suing.
[00:21:33] >> Go ahead. I didn't call on you. Go
[00:21:34] ahead. Please. Go ahead.
[00:21:36] >> Go ahead.
[00:21:37] >> Right here.
[00:21:38] >> Do you think the upcoming
[00:21:39] >> ABC by the way is truly one of the
[00:21:40] worst?
[00:21:41] >> Go ahead.
[00:21:41] >> Do you think the upcoming talks between
[00:21:43] Russia and Ukraine stand a chance
[00:21:44] without Yeah.
[00:21:45] >> US Envy Wikov and Jared Kushner there?
[00:21:47] >> I think it's I think they stand a
[00:21:49] chance. We've been trying. I' I've ended
[00:21:51] eight wars. All of them I thought were
[00:21:53] going to be maybe tougher than this one.
[00:21:56] But Zalinski and Putin
[00:21:59] hate each other. and it makes it very
[00:22:01] difficult. But I think we're getting
[00:22:02] very close to getting a settlement. Uh
[00:22:05] hundreds of thousands of people, mostly
[00:22:07] soldiers, have been killed. Last week
[00:22:10] they lost 29,000 people. Last month they
[00:22:12] lost 29,000 soldiers. Can you believe
[00:22:14] that, fellas? 29,000. You lose one race
[00:22:17] driver and it's it's a big deal. 29,000
[00:22:21] soldiers in one month. 27,000 the month
[00:22:24] before. Uh I think that uh yeah, I think
[00:22:27] that we have a good chance of getting it
[00:22:29] settled. Yeah, ma'am. Sure, Mr.
[00:22:30] President. Um, on the Wars nomination,
[00:22:33] what what is your strategy for getting
[00:22:35] past the hole that Senator Tillis has on
[00:22:38] this process? He said he won't allow
[00:22:41] >> Well, that's, you know, that kind of
[00:22:43] thinking is why he's no longer a
[00:22:44] senator. You know, he's going to be uh
[00:22:47] out of office. It's too bad. I always
[00:22:48] liked Senator Telis, actually, but he
[00:22:52] did some things that were not smart. And
[00:22:55] whatever. I mean, you know, if he
[00:22:57] doesn't approve, we'll just have to wait
[00:22:58] till somebody comes in that will approve
[00:23:00] it, right? So, that's it. But, uh, I saw
[00:23:03] that he wants to be an obstructionist,
[00:23:05] but we have a lot of obstructionists.
[00:23:06] I've had a lot and and we've created the
[00:23:08] best presidency maybe ever. Yeah.
[00:23:11] >> Iran follow up. If Iran doesn't make a
[00:23:15] deal, is your plan to replicate there
[00:23:17] what you just did in Venezuela?
[00:23:19] >> I don't want to say that. I don't want
[00:23:20] to talk I mean I don't want to talk
[00:23:21] about anything having to do with what
[00:23:23] I'm doing militarily but we have a
[00:23:25] tremendously powerful fleet there. We
[00:23:26] have the most powerful ships in the
[00:23:28] world. We have the most powerful
[00:23:29] military by far in the world. We showed
[00:23:31] that on numerous occasions. I mean I
[00:23:34] rebuilt the military in my term. If I
[00:23:36] didn't, you know, I wouldn't, I think,
[00:23:37] be able to say that. But I rebuilt the
[00:23:40] military, the entire United States
[00:23:41] military in my first term. And now we're
[00:23:44] building it bigger, better, stronger
[00:23:46] than ever before. I'm adding to it.
[00:23:48] We're adding something called a
[00:23:50] battleship. You would find this
[00:23:51] interesting. You know, the oldfashioned
[00:23:53] beautiful battleships. And we're adding
[00:23:55] up to 25 of them. Uh each battleship is
[00:24:00] 100 times more powerful than the
[00:24:02] battleships of the 1940s, those big
[00:24:04] powerful ones with the guns because of
[00:24:07] what the ships carry. But we're going to
[00:24:09] build 10 and then we'll see how we like
[00:24:11] them. And we're going to go and do
[00:24:13] another 15 after that. Could be up to 25
[00:24:15] battleships. a hundred times more
[00:24:18] powerful. Can you imagine that? Then and
[00:24:20] his peace through his strengths. We
[00:24:21] don't want to use him, but if we have to
[00:24:23] use him, we will.
[00:24:24] >> Mr. President,
[00:24:26] >> on the on the Fed, should uh the DOJ
[00:24:29] continue with its investigation into Jay
[00:24:31] Powell. That seems to be a sticking
[00:24:32] point for Senator Telis.
[00:24:34] >> Well, he he's got a building that uh you
[00:24:36] know, I build buildings and I build them
[00:24:39] under budget, ahead of schedule. I build
[00:24:41] them, but they're within reason always.
[00:24:43] And uh this is a small little complex
[00:24:46] that's costing billions of dollars. Most
[00:24:49] expensive job per square foot ever
[00:24:52] built. And it's a little complex. It's a
[00:24:54] little fed complex. I built the uh hotel
[00:24:57] on Pennsylvania Avenue and I built it
[00:25:00] for around $200 million. And it's bigger
[00:25:02] than that. They're spending uh many
[00:25:05] times that amount to do a renovation of
[00:25:07] a building. I've heard numbers as high
[00:25:09] as$4 billion dollars. four $4 billion to
[00:25:12] build a building. I could have I could
[00:25:15] have renovated that building and fixed
[00:25:16] it up, made it beautiful for $25
[00:25:19] million. They're going to spend close to
[00:25:21] $4 billion on it. So, it's either gross
[00:25:25] incompetence or it's theft.
[00:25:28] Somebody's making money because you
[00:25:30] can't spend it's more per square and you
[00:25:32] have half a building there. You know,
[00:25:33] you have the structure, you have the
[00:25:34] exterior skin that they're not changing
[00:25:36] much. Uh they're building a building and
[00:25:39] they're spending almost I mean I'm
[00:25:42] hearing numbers of between three and
[00:25:43] four billion dollars. It's the most
[00:25:45] expensive structure ever built per
[00:25:48] square foot. So he's either incompetent
[00:25:51] or he or somebody is a crook and we'll
[00:25:55] find out.
[00:25:55] >> Mr. President, Mr. on Minneapolis.
[00:25:59] >> On Minneapolis, um, Governor Tim Walls
[00:26:02] recently likened the conflict on the
[00:26:03] ground to Fort Sumpter, sort of imply
[00:26:06] that this is the beginning of a civil
[00:26:07] war. Do you agree with that
[00:26:08] characterization? Do you feel like
[00:26:09] there's a civil war?
[00:26:10] >> The governor said that
[00:26:12] >> does he know what Fort Sumpter was or do
[00:26:14] you think somebody wrote it out for?
[00:26:17] >> No, this is uh I was elected on law and
[00:26:20] order. I was elected on a strong border.
[00:26:23] We had a border that allowed 25 million
[00:26:25] people to come in. Many were murderers.
[00:26:27] They murdered people. We had 11,888
[00:26:30] murderers. We had prisons, including
[00:26:32] Venezuela. But Venezuela opened its
[00:26:34] prisons. So did the Congo. The Congo in
[00:26:37] Africa opened its prisons. They dumped
[00:26:40] people into our country. Many countries
[00:26:41] did that. I would have done that if I
[00:26:43] were leading a country. I would have
[00:26:45] dumped the prisoners into our country.
[00:26:47] We had opened borders. Uh we had all
[00:26:49] these things. I was elected on law and
[00:26:51] order. I was elected on the economy. I
[00:26:53] mean, I was elected on a lot of reasons
[00:26:55] because when I took over, we inherited a
[00:26:57] mess. I had prices were too high.
[00:27:00] Inflation was the highest it was in 48
[00:27:02] years. I say ever, but the media always
[00:27:05] corrects me by saying it's only 48
[00:27:07] years. I think 48 years almost sounds
[00:27:09] worse. But when I was elected, I was
[00:27:12] elected to do a job. And one of the big
[00:27:14] things I was elected to do is law and
[00:27:16] order. We now have the lowest crime rate
[00:27:19] in the history of our country. We have
[00:27:20] the lowest murder rate in the history of
[00:27:22] our country. We have Washington DC,
[00:27:24] which was a dangerous place to walk, is
[00:27:26] now a totally safe city. You can walk
[00:27:28] with your husband or your wife. You can
[00:27:30] walk with your ch your children right
[00:27:32] down the middle of the city. Nothing's
[00:27:34] going to happen. We did a great job. We
[00:27:36] have we had the National Guard. We have
[00:27:38] soldiers. We have people that uh
[00:27:41] nobody's going to mess with. And we've
[00:27:42] taken out, remember, it's not just that.
[00:27:45] In Washington, we've removed over 2,000
[00:27:48] criminals.
[00:27:50] And you know if you look at the numbers
[00:27:52] uh a very small percentage of your
[00:27:55] population 2% 3% of your population
[00:27:57] causes 90% of the crime. So when you
[00:28:00] move a small it's amazing how that
[00:28:02] works. But the criminals go over and
[00:28:04] over and over again. So 2 to 3% of your
[00:28:08] population can cause over 90% of your
[00:28:11] crime. So it's not that complex. We
[00:28:13] moved 2,000 people out of Washington. We
[00:28:15] brought them back to their countries
[00:28:17] where they came from. They came through
[00:28:18] open borders by sleepy Joe Biden. And I
[00:28:22] will tell you, uh, Washington is safe.
[00:28:25] Uh, if you look at New Orleans, as you
[00:28:27] know, we went there about four weeks
[00:28:29] ago. I was with the mayor of New Orleans
[00:28:31] last night. It was at the premiere, and
[00:28:34] she was at the premiere. She was great.
[00:28:36] Uh, I believe she's a Democrat. She came
[00:28:38] over. She thanked me so much. She said,
[00:28:39] "Crime is down more than 50% in just a
[00:28:42] few weeks." And you couldn't even walk
[00:28:44] down the street in New Orleans. It's so
[00:28:46] bad. And now uh they let us in there and
[00:28:50] she is thanking me so much so profusely.
[00:28:52] She was great last night. I'd do that if
[00:28:54] I weren't a Democrat. I'd say call Trump
[00:28:56] in, let them do what they do. But we
[00:28:58] remove people criminals from from the
[00:29:01] cities and they become safe cities. Uh
[00:29:04] if you look at uh Minnesota,
[00:29:06] Minneapolis, we have crime down there
[00:29:08] because we took out thousands of people
[00:29:11] despite all the mess and everything
[00:29:12] else. But do these people really want to
[00:29:14] have rapists? Do they really want to
[00:29:16] have uh drug dealers and people from
[00:29:19] prisons and murderers? Do they really
[00:29:20] want to have them in the community? Uh,
[00:29:23] you know, it's a it's really
[00:29:24] insurrectionists and agitators and
[00:29:26] they're paid and you can tell a lot of
[00:29:29] reasons. Number one, they're
[00:29:30] professionals, you know, with their
[00:29:31] mouth, but they're also you look at the
[00:29:33] signs, the signs are all professionally
[00:29:35] made. They have signs that are gorgeous.
[00:29:37] In fact, I want to get the sign because
[00:29:38] I'm a big I need a lot of signs for
[00:29:41] different things and I want to find out
[00:29:43] whoever does their signs. They do a
[00:29:44] beautiful job. You know, everybody has
[00:29:45] this beautiful sign with brand new wood.
[00:29:48] It's like leather panels. They have a
[00:29:51] leather handle on the B. These are not
[00:29:53] people that These are people that are
[00:29:55] handed signs and and we know pretty much
[00:29:58] we're getting very close to it, but we
[00:30:00] know pretty much who's funding this
[00:30:02] stuff. These are paid insurrectionists,
[00:30:03] paid paid troublemakers.
[00:30:06] But I was elected by a landslide. I won
[00:30:08] every swing state. I won the popular
[00:30:10] vote by a lot. I won everything. I want
[00:30:13] everything. And I was elected by a
[00:30:15] landslide on law and order and on strong
[00:30:18] borders. We had a border that was so
[00:30:20] bad, so open where 25 million people
[00:30:23] came in over a period of four years and
[00:30:25] now nobody comes in. Nobody even tries
[00:30:28] to come in. And I can only say I think
[00:30:32] uh we'll say it very plainly, elections
[00:30:34] have consequences. The people want law
[00:30:38] and order. And we have a silent
[00:30:40] majority. You know, we have a silent
[00:30:41] majority of people. They don't go and
[00:30:43] riot and everything else, but they like
[00:30:44] what we're doing. They like having a
[00:30:46] safe city. I get calls every single day.
[00:30:49] Every person I see working in the White
[00:30:50] House. People I don't know. Many people
[00:30:53] work here and they say, "I'd like to
[00:30:55] thank you, sir. Why uh you've made
[00:30:58] Washington so great. We walk to work."
[00:30:59] They walk to work. You you people know
[00:31:01] it very well. You walk to work now. You
[00:31:03] used to take an Uber or a taxi or
[00:31:05] something and you even felt like in
[00:31:08] danger there. uh every person in his
[00:31:11] building, I mean virtually every time I
[00:31:13] see somebody, they thank me because a
[00:31:16] year and a half ago they lived in hell
[00:31:17] and now they can walk to work and
[00:31:18] they're totally safe. Nothing's going to
[00:31:20] happen. And if anything did happen, the
[00:31:23] person that did it would be living in
[00:31:25] hell for a long period of time. Thank
[00:31:26] you very much.
[00:31:30] Also, thank you. You guys keep moving
[00:31:32] up.
[00:31:32] >> Thank you very much.
